Hace poco les mostrábamos una de las primeras imágenes de la campaña Primavera-Verano 2010 de Lanvin para mujer. Ahora le toca  a la colección de hombres, también realizada por Steven Miesel.

Esta vez optó por el matrimonio de fotógrafos Inez van Lamsweerde y Vinoodh Matadin actuando como la pareja que son.

Alber Elbaz , director artístico de Lanvin, enfatiza con estrés que Matadin no es su prototipo de modelo. “Sólo lo fotografiamos con nuestra ropa, y se convirtió en algo creíble. Además, verlo a través de los ojos de su esposa y ver la historia de amor entre ellos lo hace una campaña emocional”.

A pesar de que Van Lamsweerde llama la atención con su cuerpo desnudo pintado de rojo, no le quita el protagonismo a su esposo, dando como resultado una campaña sencilla pero genial e impactante.

Las campañas de Lanvin siempre traducen el estilo ultra chic que define a la firma. Pero, necesitan un poco de acción, elo que comenta su director creativo Alber Elbaz. Y es lo que inyectaron en la campaña de Primavera-Verano 2010, con la modelo Jamie Bochert y Steven Miesel como fotógrafo.

Con el estilo ultra chic característico de Lanvin, Bochert se muestra en las imágenes corriendo por el pasillo de un estudio de Nueva York. “Ella se movía tan rápido, que la lámpara se mueve con ella”, comenta Elbaz.

Es ahora una moda de que los diseñadores de Alta Costura laboren como fotógrafos, como Karl Lagerfeld y Roberto Cavalli. En el caso de Alber Elbaz, director creativo de Lanvin, es diferente.

Elbaz se encargó de concebir y dirigir la edición de diciembre de Vogue Brasil. El resultado del editorial fue ultra fabuloso. Un despliegue de fantasía y glamour, titulado El fabuloso mundo de Alber Elbaz, estelarizado por Madisyn Ritland y Elsa Sylvan y el mismo Elbaz en la toma final, con el lente de Stephane Gallois. Sí que es fabuloso el mundo de Elbaz.

And because I can’t always talk about how much I love Alber Elbaz, for this post I will tell you how much I absolutely love Gareth Pugh! This season he gave us a show that was described as, “That emphasized a diaphanous, set a romantic mood”. I even surprised myself what I used to love about Pugh was the rawness, the hard-edged, hard core, structure that gave an in your face, precise stand. It was all Black, beautiful metallic grays and gunmetal. Imagine Edward Scissorhands set the Requiem for a Dream Soundtrack, strutting down the runway, I bet it was breath-taking in person. It was also my favorite this season for such an effective mix of menswear and womenswear on the runway.

Alber Elbaz is celebrating 120th anniversary of Lanvin by designing the cutest stamps for the French national post.

I’ve always been a fan of snail mail. There is nothing like receiving a handwritten letter from a friend – it is more than just a letter, it’s like a keepsake. Alber Elbaz of Lanvin seems to share my thinking with his creation of 2 stamps for the French postal service, La Poste, as part of the celebration to commemorate Lanvin’s 120th anniversary. There will also be pencils, paper presses and notebooks sold at the post office based on Rue des Mathurins in Paris and on La Poste’s website.

As part of Lanvin’s 120th anniversary, Alber Elbaz has designed two stamps for the French postal service, La Poste, illustrated with his iconic playful doodles.

The insanely collectible stamps will debut early next year.

The 120th aniversary collection goodies also features limited edition ceramic hearts, pencils, paper presses and notebooks for sending to loved ones in the post! They will go on sale at the post office based on Rue des Mathurins in Paris.

Lanvin’s mother-and-daughter logo will feature on packs geared to stamp collectors.

For those unable to make it down to the brick-and-motar postal office, fret not, as an online Lanvin store will be created for the occasion on the post office’s Web site!

Hooray! Don’t the stamps look absolutely crazily maniacally adorable??

They look almost deliciously edible. Yum.Yum.

As part of Lanvin’s 120th birthday celebrations, Alber Elbaz designed two stamps for La Poste in 2010. A separate Lanvin store will be available on La Poste website where pencils, paper presses, and notebooks will be available. Sending post has never been more fashionable.

The best of both worlds: chains and leather on a heel. Alber Elbaz’s designs for Lanvin’s S/10 collection continued the rocker/biker trend and sought furious glamour through a candy-store array of pink, salmon, peach, and vermilion.

Lynn Hirschberg needs to upload more screen tests. The one or two she does every now and then isn’t enough to satisfy my hunger for more stylistic interviews. Whatever it’s just an interview right? I suppose you’re right, but what sets these apart for me is the black and white close-ups with only their responses cut together.

To be honest with you, I’m not a huge fan of Megan Fox. I’m not involved in the Fox hotness craze. I enjoy the likes of Marion Cotillard, Melanie Laurent, Cintia Dicker or better yet, Sonya Sydoryshyn more than Megan Fox. However, I’ve got to admit that she’s pretty enjoyable to watch when she’s not filmed as a super sex vixen ready to sizzle your heart with her pouty lips. My favourite screen tests are still Jospeh Gordon-Levitt, Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, and (surprise) Tyra Banks. The designer series featuring Alber Elbaz, Stefano Pilati, and Takashi Murakami are also pretty interesting. If you want to see the entire collection, you can find it here.

Out of many examples in the past where designer/high street collaboration comes to a crash, Lanvin/Acne certainly doesn’t dissapoint. Alber Elbaz’s designs for Acne launches today, pieces are available from Acne’s Lavin site starting today. Adorable pieces, absolutely a pleasure to look at, if not a Christmas treat. Designs have retained the subtle elaboration look executed in simple and precise cut. The latern sleeves that Alber popularised in his SS09 collection is also available for you to take home at £475.  Unfortunately for most items you will not be able to choose size. I guess it is a risk a die heart fan is willing to take. Pieces start from £220 (a plain denim shirt). And as I am writing this, more and more pieces have “out of stock” slashed over its picture. Go quick!

I’d say this is my favourite piece so far. Retained that Lavin’s little black dress glamour with top notch Acne denim fabric. It looks great on, has great cut and only a fraction of the proper Lanvin price. At £440. Also comes in white

Vous n’êtes pas sans ignorer que cette année, la plus vieille maison de couture encore en activité a fêté ses 120 ans. Cette maison, je vous le dis a le vent en poupe. Pour les incultes,  c’est  de la maison Jeanne Lanvin dont je vous parle et j’en suis amoureuse. Je suis amoureuse d’Alber Elbaz et je suis amoureuse de cette adresse mythique dont la simple évocation pourrait contrarier mon banquier et me mettre sur la longue et triste liste des interdits bancaires, le 22, Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Si vous aimez la mode vous saurez qu’il y a parfois des choses qui vous mettent dans un état tel que vous en avez presque honte. Une excitation indescriptible, des émotions inexplicables, une boule au ventre, un frisson et c’est cela que j’appelle la mode. C’est parfois un peu extrême et c’est tout ce que l’on aime. Alber a réveillé toutes ces émotions en moi, car ce défilé, je vous le jure c’était une explosion de plaisir pour les yeux …

Ainsi, si comme moi vous n’étiez pas au défilé (pauvre de nous), voilà ce que vous avez raté. Comme d’habitude, Alber Elbaz nous a sorti le grand jeu de technicité absolument simple, de glamour absolument élégant avec des drapés époustouflants, des matières étonnantes et des couleurs détonantes. Du rose, du pêche, du vermillon entre autres robes noires qui paraîtraient presque colorées, des sequins qui se parent de milles feux et tous ça de la manière la plus évidente qui soit… Je suis restée le souffle coupée, bouche bée, ébahie par sa géniale inspiration.

Et c’est donc grâce à Lanvin que nous serons ce printemps coquines et mutines, chics et fatales bref nous serons femmes dans toutes nos contradictions. Merci Alber!!! Et comme les mots ne valent rien dans la fashion sphère je vous laisse découvrir mes looks coups de coeur ….
