Ok so I have really been meaning to post this song. IT’S SOOOOO GOOD. I truly believe that if this song gets the proper marketing and a good music video then it will be the HIT OF THE ALBUM. This song is catchy and is lyrically well composed. She talks about not being able to find the right man and is upset about not finding her “Matt Damon”. I LOVE IT! She seriously NEEDS to get Matt Damon for this video, SHE HAS TO!

Leona Lewis "Echo" Album Art

So sadly Leona Lewis’ album is not selling very well. So sad cause it’s a really good album. Buy the album if you can.

Anyway I’ve been meaning to post this song for a while since the album leaked but kept forgetting. When I heard it I was surprised by the track because it’s a complete pop track and it’s a very different direction for Leona Lewis. Now this track is gonna be her next single, which I think it’s a good choice. Check it out!

Heidi Montag "Superficial" Album Art

Ok so look I get a lot of heat for this but I really like Heidi Montag’s music. It’s really catchy and I LOVE IT. OMG I really loved her last song Look How I’m Doing. That song was on repeat on my iPod. SOO GOOD. If you don’t have it, just request it and I will gladly post it cause it’s AMAZING.

Anyway this is another song by Heidi Montag. It’s nothing too special, but it’s decent enough to listen. Give it a try!

Hello its bethoSTYLISTA,
I would love to review every month, the battle of cover art. Album cover art is sooo important, in regards of persuading the consumer to buy the album. Now, I would like your input in regards of Rihanna’s ‘Rated R’ and Leona Lewis’s ‘Echo’. Rihanna is going for an even edgier and dark look. While Leona is going for an even sexier look with her wet hair. Devoted fashionistas may have sussed out Leona is wearing an one off Vivienne Westwood gown.
Could we say, they both want to go for an ‘iconic’ cover. Their are divas in their own rights, so if you didn’t know anything about these artists, what cover would you buy?

Kelis "Acapella" Album Art

Ok so I almost didn’t download this song myself because I’m not a fan of Kelis. The good song from her was Milkshake when back when. However, what changed my mind was the fact that David Guetta produced the song. And Guetta has really proven himself to make hits, so I wanted to see what he managed to create. And I was surprisingly pleased. It has Kelis singing over Guetta’s dance beat. It’s not like Kelly Rowland’s single or Estelle’s where those ladies hit those diva-notes. Kelis keeps is pretty mellow.

The song will do REALLY well in dance/gay clubs. That being said, this song is not for everyone. If you like David Guetta’s work and like “trance-y” music, then I would recommend for you. Enoy!

Output Album Art

Per the title you can tell what this post is about. I took the time to listen to Fedde Le Grand’s newest album, Output, and boy was it a disappointment. This guy is responsible for the amazingness that is “Let Me Think About It” and yet he could not pull it together for his own album. It was bad. Out of the 13 tracks on the album, I only kept 2! Yeah only two.

The song I am posting is one of those two songs. It’s really good and should make your weekend more enjoyable.

To be honest I always have difficulty reviewing a hip-hop album, especially cause there are soooooo many different type of genres within the hip-hop genre. That being said, I did try to pick out what I CONSIDER the better songs of the album. This is one of them

I recently did a photoshoot with my wonderful photographer: my Mom! As I work on my singing, recording and album, I want to make sure I have some great photos to share with you all. I hope they can be an inspiration to you!

Toro Y Moi is releasing two albums next year, and the first one Cause of This drops on February 23, 2010 (birthday present, anyone?). Here is the album art as well as an updated version of the opening track “Blessa”,  the original of which I included on my Seersucker Porn mix from the summer.

One Republic "Waking Up" iTunes Deluxe Album Cover

Hey guys and gals

So I just bought the new OneRepublic album (deluxe edition) through iTunes. I am sharing this unimportant fact because it is relevant to the point I am trying to get across with the blog.

I already had OneRepublic’s album last week when it leaked, but I liked it SO MUCH that I decided to support the artist for their amazing work and bought the album.

Seriously guys, if you really like the songs that I post on the blog, buy the song. Try to support music AT LEAST ONCE in a while. We spend so much money on useless things (like junk food) that will only last for a temporary amount of time. Music (if taken care of properly i.e. backed-up) can last for years. Just food for thought.

Ok enough preaching. I will start posting the OneRepublic songs next week. Yeah that’s right imma make you wait! And if you can’t wait then get the album here. It’s really really good!

Oh yeah and I’m planning to buy Lady GaGa’s new album as well and I hope you guys plan to buy it as well! You heard how good the album is and it only cost $8.99.

The Fame Monster Deluxe Version

So I finally got my hands on the album and it’s AHHHH—-MAZING! Let’s start

1) Bad Romance (prod. RedOne) – We’ve all heard this track by now. And if you haven’t then.. WTF GET TO IT! This track is brilliant. The lyrics is what I find captivating. They are poetic, desperate, and genius. Destined to be Lady GaGa’s fifth #1.  10/10

2) Alejandro (Prod. RedOne) – The song has a type of Madonna “Isla Bonita” and an Ace of Base “Don’t Turn Around” vibe. The repetition of Alejandro is a little annoying but then kind of catchy. A solid track none the less. 8/10

3) Monster (Prod. Redone & Space Cowboy) – This song is all about a guy, who “ate [GaGa's] heart.” Lady GaGa uses the “mwah-mwah” from Poker Face to now say Monster. It’s a really good song, but I really doubt this one will be released as a single. What really captivated me about this song was how it started. “Don’t call me GaGa. I’ve never seen one like that before. You were made for me.” HOT.  8/10

4) Speechless (Prod. Ron Fair) – Beautiful song. I love the chorus and I love hearing her sing without so much electronic beats. She sounds so real and personal. I hope she releases it! 9/10

5) Dance in the Dark (Prod. Fernando Garibay) – I LOVE THIS SONG! It’s an amazing pop track. The lyrics are soooo engaging, especially when she goes into a list of dead pop icons. It’s dark and I love it! True brilliance. She better release this one. I don’t want this one to land the same fate as Starstruck, from her previous album. 10/10

6) Telephone (Prod. Rodney Jerkins) – It has Beyonce….what more proof do you need that this song will be a hit. The song starts slow and then immediately picks up the pace with a wicked beat. What I like about this collaboration is that Beyonce does not get lost in the song. She kills her verse. This will most likely be her next single after Bad Romance. 9/10

7) So Happy I Could Die (Prod. RedOne) – A really good track, but I doubt it will be a single. Nothing too amazing about the track. She does reveal she likes to touch herself. 8/10

8 ) Teeth (Prod. Teddy Riley) – A hard hitting track. Not the typical GaGa track, that’s for sure. It’s different, which isn’t a bad thing. It reminds me of…something. I just can’t find the exact words. There are some points in the song that she sounds like Christina Aguilera. 7/10

So overall a solid album and I truly urge you guys to BUY THE ALBUM!! Seriously.

I was given the opportunity to design the album art for a friends band. They wanted a visual that would not only represent them but there music, album name, and their lively on stage antics. The album is entitled Rods, Cones, and Little Tiny Bones and was a big influence on the album art I created. I imaged a woman holding an old hearing cone that would be funneling this colorful confetti into her ear. The confetti would represent the bands music and the bright colors their lively stage energy. I am happy with the turn out and so were they.

Start off Friday the 13th with an exhibition of video, painting, and sculpture by Aline Cautis, Josh Mannis, and Andy Roche at the former Busy Beaver Palmer Square location.  Join curators and button-maker team Old Gold to transform the former button shop into a newly inaugurated gallery space.

Hop on the Blue Line to the designer toy store Rotofugi on Division where you can check out the Jesse Le Doux “Exit Strategy” art show and custom Busy Beaver Button-O-matic.  It’s filled with 35 different buttons, including original, hand-drawn button art.  You might recognize Jesse’s work from the Shins “Chutes Too Narrow” album art,  rock posters, and even a slime-filled Target gift card.  Click here for more info.
