Last October the Alcatel OT-203 was sold in partnership with Carphone, The Sun newspaper and Orange in the UK.

The device is a very basic one for voice and text with very limited features:
no GPRS,no Java, a small colour 1.5 inch screen of 128×128.

According to Carphone Warehouse the Alcatel OT-203 was its fastest selling prepay handset ever. The £9.50 handset, with £10 free credit on Orange went on sale on 14th October and was available to customers who had collected four tokens printed in the newspaper.

Carphone sold 14,000 handsets in the opening two hours with queues forming outside some stores. 47,000 phones were sold over the three day promotion. Carphone said the handset is the fastest selling prepay device in its history.

Carphone CEO Andrew Harrison commented: ‘The speed at which this handset flew out of our stores was simply staggering. We saw an extra 100,000 customers over the three days the promotion ran, which just goes to prove that customers still love brilliant value handsets. We shouldn’t forget that for every customer who wants an iPhone, there is another customer looking for the best value on the high street.’

The smartphone segment, even if its growing fast, accounts roughly for 20% of the global device shipments. Even if the iPhone will be on sale at Tesco, most people need a mobile phone to … do phone calls and texts. Given the tough times most people are going through this kind of promotion is just smart and efficient in wooing new customers.

These days the handset market seems polarized between the two extremes: the high end devices and the entry level ones with no space in between.

La firma francesa se lanza al teclado QWERTY y la pantalla táctil con dos nuevos modelos: One Touch Tribe y One Touch Mini.

El primero es un teléfono sencillo y moderno que está dirigido principalmente a los jóvenes e incluye funciones y accesos directos al correo electrónico, redes sociales y mensajería instantánea con sólo un clic.

La otra novedad es One Touch Mini, un teléfono que comparte muchas caracterísiticas con el Tribe pero que le gana en sencillez. Cuenta sólo con una pantalla táctil (2,4 pulgadas y 320×240 píxeles de resolución) desde la que se manejan todas los widgets con sólo arrastrar y soltar. Está dispuesta en dos zonas: la parte superior, desde donde se acceden a las aplicaciones más frecuentes, y la inferior, por la que se navega a través del menú del teléfono.

La cámara es de menos calidad que la del OT Tribe, 1,3MP, pero tiene también conexión GPRS, Bluetooth y además es más barato; está disponible a partir de 59 euros.

Untuk pengetesan BB PE IP MPLS yang sudah menghabiskan badget puluhan juta itu ternyata blm berhasil sodara2. Jalur transmisi yang dibuat via SDH ALU dengan kapasitas 1 G, ternyta belum tmbus.

Kami memakai card tipe ISA-ES16, dan untuk di aksesnya (yg bkalan di colokin ke router) adalah modul GETH-AGR. ISA-ES16 sendiri bisa mendelivere trafik sebesar 16 x STM 1 alias sekitar 2.5 G. GETH-AGR punya 4 port akses dan bisa mengeluarkan trafik sesuai cross conent yang dibuat, tergantung desainnya. Kombinasi2 yang bisa diterapkan adalah sebagai berikut:

1. Port 1 & 2 kapasitas 1 G dimana ini setara dgn 7 VC4 / STM-1 –> berarti 2 port dah ngabisin 14 VC4, so tinggal 2 VC4 lagi kan.. (sesuai kapasitas ISA-ES16 td). nah 2 VC4 itu bisa kita keluarin di port 3 & 4 dengan masing2 BW nya 100 Mbps (1 VC4)
2. Kombinasi yang laen sesuai kebutuhan, yang pasti prinsipnya ke -4 port tersebut cuma dijatah BW sebesar 16 VC4 ato 2.5 G. Apabila kita memaksakan mengkonfigure ke tiga port sebesar 1 G, maka port yg ke-3 tidak akan bisa mengeluarkan trafik 1 G, tp hanya 2 VC4 = 288 Mbps

Automobiles will soon be linking up with servers in the cloud to enable everything from crowdsourced pothole detection, personalized radio stations, video selections that include YouTube and even video streams from the front windows of other cars.

Think of it as Dashboard 2.0.

A consortium of tech companies called ng Connect showed off a functional concept version of a Toyota Prius on Tuesday that includes multiple LCD screens, an app platform similar to the one for the iPhone, and a high speed LTE internet connection that promises to make 3G feel like dial-up. The set-up turns the car into a Wi-Fi hot spot, plays movies on demand, and lets passengers frag each other in multi-player games.

The LTE connection is fast enough to stream four high-definition movies to four different screens in a single car, according to Alcatel-Lucent vice president Derek Kuhn. While still a telecom dream, LTE is backwards-compatible with today’s 3G networks. It also relies on a single standard, which will hopefully make nationwide rollout cheaper and faster than 3G has been.

ng Connect is comprised of a motley crew of tech companies: the networking company Alcatel-Lucent, Atlantic Records, QNX Software Systems, Toyota, geek gadget company chumby and Kabillion. Their LTE Connected Car project is only a prototype now, but the group expects its technology to roll out within the next two to three years.

ng Connect’s system leverages two major trends — cloud computing and mobile applications – to provide safety, navigation, and entertainment features that already go a long way towards justifying its “next-generation” moniker.

The high-bandwidth connection enables processor-intensive applications like voice recognition — a crucial safety feature in gadget-ridden cars — to happen on the server side, where voice commands can be processed more efficiently. And that’s just the beginning of what cloud computing will do for drivers, according to the ng Connect group.

“This car also is a sensor,” explained Kuhn. For instance, if your car’s temperature and moisture sensors determine that the surface temperature of the road is below freezing and that the road is wet, it can upload that information into the cloud so that the drivers behind you know to take it a little easier around the turns. It’s like a crowdsourced version of what traffic helicopters do today.

Entertainment-wise, the system offers Pandora’s personalized streaming radio, Atlantic Records’ apps that pull in an artist’s latest tweets and songs, YouTube and a movie streaming service that remembers where each viewer left off. Future applications could even use the vehicle’s moisture sensor to suggest that you play Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet, according to Kuhn.

Lest you worry about drivers being distracted, the system cuts off the entertainment stream to the driver’s monitor as soon as the car is in motion.

A camera embedded in the rearview mirror captures the road ahead, letting you pipe a video stream to the cloud. This will let you see the view from a connected car a quarter-mile ahead of you, so you can find out what’s causing that traffic jam up ahead. The system can also sense that traffic is becoming more compressed, warning you to slow down before you encounter a traffic compression.

Of course, America’s love affair with the car has a lot to do with freedom, and some could bristle about this sort of connectivity compromising their privacy.

“Let’s be open, there are privacy issues,” said Kuhn. “But we think we can abstract it enough that it’s not Dan driving.”

“It’s a nameless entity, right?” added Dan Dodge, president and CEO of QNX software, which developed the Flash Lite-based platform used by the system, who was seated in the driver’s seat for our demonstration. “It’s an identifier that would change every time you get into your car. It’s randomly assigned and has no idea who you are – it’s just a moving dot, and that’s key.”

However, Dodge added, applications that need to know who you are, such as Pandora, can do so without broadcasting any personally-identifying information to the cloud.

“The other exciting thing about this is municipalities,” said Dodge. “If your car hits a pothole, you can have a real-time signal go back to the municipality and they can see potholes appearing in real-time and send out a truck.” (Or start ignoring them as soon as possible, as the case may be.)

The losers in all of this: satellite navigation and radio. They appear to have about three years, tops, before personalized applications and cloud computing make them look as outdated as black-and-white television.

“Once you assume constant connectivity, the whole mindset changes of where you partition what’s in the car and what’s out in the cloud,” said Dodge. “Other than this nice, rich touch screen, a lot of the computing power has been moved onto the cloud, so the car of the future may be physically cheaper to build.”

Price will likely be a crucial factor in the success of this and other connected car platforms. ng Connect chose the Prius rather than a luxury model because research indicated that the segment of the population most interested in connected cars with advanced features is not the same that buys high-end luxury models. Rather, it’s young families and older singles who see connected electronics as a necessity.

De entre estos nuevos modelos, el Nokia 2220 y el 2690, preciados a 45 y 54 euros, también tienen función de correo electrónico a través del sistema Ovi Mail de la firma.

Nokia dijo que abrirá su servicio Life Tools, que ofrece servicios de agricultura, educación e información para móviles, en Indonesia a partir de principios de diciembre del 2009. Hasta ahora ha ofrecido ese servicio en India. Alcatel presenta su ’smartphone’ de bajo coste. La compañía pretende conquistar el terreno de los ’smartphones’ con el lanzamiento de One Touch Tribe, un terminal pensado para satisfacer todas las necesidades multimedia por un precio que se antoja irrisorio: menos de 70 euros. Se trata del primer modelo de Alcatel con un práctico teclado QWERTY físico, siguiendo la tendencia dictada por la Blackberry de RIM. Es un terminal tribanda con tecnología para conexión a Internet EDGE class 12, GPRS Class 12 y Wap 2.0. También cuenta con Bluetooth y con enlaces directos a las más populares redes sociales.

La pantalla de 2,2 pulgadas no es táctil y tiene una resolución de 320×240 píxeles. Además, dispone de los añadidos multimedia exigibles hoy en día, como el mp3, radio RDS y la cámara de fotos de 2 megapíxeles. Tiene dos juegos instalados de serie, calculadora, 20 megas de memoria interna y acepta microSD de hasta 4 GB. Se conecta al ordenador mediante USB 2.0.

Alhamdulillah problem dah solve. Tau ga kenapa?? Ternyata kalau kita lagi running performance monitoring, XC yang melewati jalur STM-N tersebut tidak bisa kita edit. hohohoho… memang perlu ahlinya sepertinya (thx ya pak Po***).

N then masalah yang kedua. Setelah bisa di hapus semua XC yang partial deimplement, ternyata perjuangan tidak cukup sampai disitu. Alaaah mak jan (Asrul Para Pencari Tuhan mode on). Ada 1 kendala lagi yang menghambat pengetesan GBE BB MPLS. Apakah gerangan??? XC Ethernet belum bisa di create di NMS, harus remote lokal ke site. omg…

Progres pun dilanjut kemaren sore samapi tadi subuh. qeqeqe…maaf ya ALU team, mesti lembur malem2. Tapi alhamdulillah, semua problem dah solve sekarang. GBE pada ALU ternyata harus di hidupin dulu supervisi nya. Ternyata monitoringnya terpisah dari sistem SDH nya. So..skrg dah ada deh monitoring untuk GBE nya, tapi sayang masih level NM. Semoga nanti segera bisa di upgrade ke versi BM (Bandwitdh Management) ya… GO ICON+….

Den Bell begint aan een tweede leven

Den Bell, het voormalige kantorencomplex van telecombedrijf Alcatel in Antwerpen-Zuid, begint dit weekend officieel aan een tweede leven. Het vrijgemaakte binnenplein werd gisteren officieel geopend voor de buurtbewoners. Zaterdag (10/10/09) is het de beurt aan de werknemers van de stad en het OCMW om hun toekomstige werkplek te bezoeken. Op zondag wordt Den Bell opengesteld voor het grote publiek op de Dag van de Architectuur (11/10/09). In oktober zullen de eerste ondersteunende diensten zich installeren in Den Bell, in november volgt de eerste van zes grote verhuisbewegingen. Tegen de zomer van 2010 moet deze enorme verhuisoperatie achter de rug zijn.

Nadat de vorige eigenaar Alcatel in 2006 besloot te verhuizen naar de stationsbuurt, koos het stadsbestuur dit Antwerpse ‘landmark’ als locatie om haar administratieve diensten, voordien verspreid over tientallen locaties in de stad, te centraliseren. In 2007 stapte ook het OCMW mee in het ambitieuze project. Met de verbouwing van en de verhuizing naar Den Bell willen beide organisaties de werkomstandigheden van hun medewerkers verbeteren en verder bouwen aan een efficiënte, flexibele en hedendaagse administratie.

De driehoekige kantoorgebouwen met een omtrek van bijna 400 meter strekken zich uit tussen de Boudewijnsstraat, de Diercxsensstraat en de Sint-Laureisstraat. Door plaatsgebrek bouwde Alcatel de binnenruimte over verschillende decennia volledig dicht. Het stadsbestuur liet deze ruimte vrijmaken om ze om te vormen tot een voor iedereen toegankelijk binnenplein. In de Boudewijnsstraat en de Sint-Laureisstraat werden daarom twee doorgangen gemaakt. Op deze manier werd in een dichtbebouwde wijk een extra open ruimte gecreëerd. Het binnenplein van Den Bell leent zich door zijn architectuur en uitrusting perfect voor sport en spel, buurtfeesten en activiteiten van lokale verenigingen.

De kenmerkende Bell-toren, in 1958 opgetrokken door architect Hugo Van Kuyck en voorzien van een indrukwekkende spiraaltrap, werd omgevormd tot een hedendaags vergadercentrum. Verspreid over de twaalf verdiepingen herbergt de toren tientallen kleine en grote, open en gesloten multifunctionele ruimtes voor tal van activiteiten, gaande van vergaderingen, opleidingen en selecties tot tentoonstellingen, recepties en seminaries. Het voormalige auditorium werd omgevormd tot een moderne zaal met tal van multimediale faciliteiten en hedendaags comfort. Net als in de rest van de toren werden alle verbouwingen uitgevoerd met het oog op een optimale toegankelijkheid voor mensen met een motorische, visuele of auditieve handicap. Tijdens de kantooruren zullen de vergaderfaciliteiten vooral gebruikt worden door de medewerkers van de stad en het OCMW, maar daarbuiten zullen ze beschikbaar worden voor derden.

De vroegere, vijf verdiepingen tellende, ‘werkhuizen’ van Den Bell werden verbouwd en heringericht tot open en flexibele kantoorruimten voor meer dan 2200 werknemers. Om de beschikbare ruimte optimaal te benutten en tegemoet te komen aan de stijgende nood aan dienstoverschrijdende projectwerking werd afgestapt van het klassieke kantoorconcept. Medewerkers moeten niet langer aan één vast bureau werken, maar kunnen hun werkplek kiezen in functie van hun taak van het moment. Zo kan men naast gewone basiswerkplekken onder meer kiezen tussen kleine en grote vergaderzalen, informele loungewerkplekken, projectruimtes en gesloten werkplekken. Door niet enkel taakgericht, maar ook optimaal digitaal te werken en gebruik te maken van groepsklassementen besparen de diensten enorm veel ruimte en papier en is alle informatie overal en snel beschikbaar. Werkplekdelen zorgt bovendien voor een betere interne communicatie én brengt dynamiek in een werkdag.

Aan de duurzaamheid van het Bell-project werd veel aandacht besteed. Aanwezigheidssensoren doven het licht in ongebruikte ruimtes en in ruimtes met voldoende daglicht. Centraal elektriciteitsbeheer gaat sluimergebruik tegen. Energiezuinige radiatoren en moderne condensatieketels moeten warmte- en energieverspilling vermijden. Een automatische zonwering en hybride ventilatie spelen perfect in op het seizoen en het uur van de dag. Aan de basis ervan ligt een geïntegreerd klimaatbeheersysteem dat op elk moment van de dag bepaalt welke vorm het meest geschikt is en door mechanische en natuurlijke verluchting te combineren een aangenaam en tegelijk ecologisch verantwoord binnenklimaat garandeert. Zo zullen medewerkers in Den Bell in de winter een dikkere trui moeten dragen, maar op een warme zomerdag ramen kunnen openzetten.

Samenwerken op één locatie betekent op zich al een aanzienlijke daling van het aantal dienstverplaatsingen, maar ook op het vlak van hun eigen mobiliteit wordt van de stedelijke medewerkers een mentaliteitsverandering verwacht. In de parkeergarage onder Den Bell zijn enkel bezoekers, personen met een handicap, dienstvoertuigen en carpoolers toegelaten. Individuele werknemers worden geacht, in navolging van het STOP-principe (stappers / trappers / openbaar vervoer / personenwagens) op een duurzame manier hun dienst- en woon-werkverplaatsingen te maken. Een mobiliteitsgids, fietsvergoedingen, terugbetalingen van het openbaar vervoer, een fietshersteldienst en extra sanitaire voorzieningen voor fietsers en voetgangers moeten de werknemers stimuleren om de meest geschikte keuze te maken.

Al deze factoren maken van Den Bell een gebouw met een voorbeeldfunctie, waarin efficiëntie, kostenbewustzijn en duurzaamheid centraal staan en mensen in een aangename omgeving samenwerken om nog beter in te spelen op de noden van de Antwerpenaar.

之前有網友來小的部落格是留了言問道：ETCS和CBTC有甚麼分別，他們又可以不可以用在捷運系統上呢？因為要說的東西不可以三言兩語說完，所以就順道要多謝那位朋友給機會好讓我新開一個文章w

小的在網上見過很多人誤把CBTC寫成是一種信號系統，尤其是炸湖線（笑）通車前後，媒體的報導，網絡上的簡介都說內湖線用的「龐巴迪CBTC號誌系統」，當場令小的昏過去。其實CBTC，Communication Based Train Control，是一個信號系統的種類。鐵路的信號系統一直都是一套很被動的設備，如果有列車佔用了閉塞，信號系統就會將列車後面的閉塞封鎖，而信號系統得知道列車位置的方法就只有透過列車通過各種的軌道設備，例如是：軌道電路、計軸器、信標（Beacon/Balise）才知道列車的位置。

而所有CBTC信號系統都是由列車自行定位，再把自己的位置傳回行控中心。就好像你一直踏單車，而你的單車給裝上了追蹤器，追蹤器自己會找出單車現時的位置再將位置傳回行控中心。而在傳回資料的期間，列車的車載電腦也會下載前面閉塞佔用的情況，前車位置，或者是臨時速度限制，而給出最高容許的行車速度和剎車曲線。CBTC信號系統最大的好處是所有在線路上的列車都會自行定位再把位置傳回，讓自車可以很快的知道前車位置，從而做到大幅縮短車距，甚至是移動閉塞的功能。不過，不同的CBTC訊號系統都有自己的定位方法和資料傳送方法。舊一代的CBTC系統，例如是加拿大Alcatel的Seltrac（現由法國thales公司銷售）、法國的SACEM、德國的LZB 都是在軌道旁舖設迴路，透過迴路發出的無線電信號，讓列車得知道自己的位置和接收信息。較新的CBTC系統，例如是龐巴迪（Bombardier）的Cityflo 650，或者是西門子的ETCS Lvl.2/3 都是不需要軌道的迴路，直接用無線電發射點發出無線電信號，讓列車判斷和發射點的距離後，就可以自己定位再傳回位置。正因為CBTC系統可以大幅縮短車距，更甚可以不再有固定閉塞，所以現在很多的地鐵系統都開始採用CBTC信號。

但是所有CBTC系統都有一個缺點，就是未能定位 – delocalization。鐵路運輸本身的優點是因為鐵軌和鐵輪摩擦力最少都要比橡膠車輪和混凝土路面低一倍，可是正因為這樣，鐵路車輛會經常打滑，即使在地下鐵的環境，列車都會因為線路不斷上落坡和急曲線而發生打滑。CBTC系統多數都是列車讓在一個開始點先定位，例如開始點是路線上的0.001km，當列車一直行走，里程計就會讓列車知道自己的位置再傳回。可是當列車發生空轉打滑等狀況時，里程計就會多數列車行走的距離，結果弄錯自己的位置。於是都是要用傳統的方法 – 就是在適當位置設置信標（Beacon/Balise），作用就好像一個寫上了里程的路牌，來讓列車知道自己正確的位置。

而加拿大的Seltrac系統就會將信號的迴路分成25m一段，每段的迴路都有自己的編號，而每段的迴路發出的載波都會和先前的一段不同，當車上子接收到的載波有分別時，就會將車上的里程計重撥，再配合車軸脈衝感應器，就可以時刻更新自車的正確位置。

所以說，CBTC簡單來講只是訊號系統的工作方式，就好像電視機一樣，有CRT的、液晶的、電漿的，可是不同的電視機有不同的製造商生產，又有自己的工作方式和功能上的差異。

Hari ini alhamdulillah dapet ilmu lagi dari temen ALCATEL LUCENT (ALU) yang lg troubleshoot di sini (ms Sla***). Ok sharing aq kali ini tentang gimana caranya kita update & nyimpen semua modul-modul yang terinstal di NE Network kita (produk dari Alcatel Lucent, SDH 64 1660).

Cara update monitor di RM untuk semua modul yang terinstal caranya :

1. Klik salah satu NE
2. Show the equipment (EML)
3. Klik Supervision
4. Klik Upload Remote Inventory
5. Muncul question : ” do you really want to upload remote inventory logs? –> Klik OK
6. Setelah selesai akan muncul tanda

Cara melihat /mendownload semua modul yang terinstall di NE :

1. Klik salah satu NE
2. Show the equipment (EML)
3. Klik Diagnosis
4. Klik View
5. Klik Remote Inventory

Hasil yang di dapat adalah sebagai berikut :

Cara menyimpan hasilnya bisa dengan 3 cara, diantaranya :

1. Copy paste ke wordpad
2. Ambil ke server via ftp
3. Memakai bantuan software Fillezilla Client. software bisa didownload disini
