I don’t care if that is your favorite movie, I let you be in charge of the DVD player for Halloween.  Tomorrow is Christmas, and I say we watch Elf.

When else can you get tall dress boots for $50? Almost never! This is a

great deal from Aldo, and you should hop on it. I’m super tempted myself, but alas, I’m still grounded from shopping and technically have black high heeled boots already. Great thing about Aldo shoes: super comfortable.

I may still cave. I’m a bit undecided on the toe. I think I’d like it pointier.

Overall, these boots are NOT made for walking…around the office. But if you’re like me, searching for a boot just for looks, then these are for you!

I loved the look of these boots! I bought them to wear in a pageant and they looked great on stage. I recieved alot of compliments from other contestants and their mom’s. Everyone thought it was very neat how they zip up the back. My calves are about 12″ around and they fit my legs very well! But it was a little difficult to get them zipped past my heel when I was in a hurry.

Warning: These heels are very tall!! I’m 5′4″, not the typical pageant height, so I really liked the extra height on stage. I’m used to wearing tall heels alot but these boots are very uncomfortable after awhile. They have a slight pointy toe as well. My feet are pretty narrow through the toes but my toes were very squished. My shoe size is usually an 8 and they fit pretty snug, I decided not to exchange them for a bigger size because they looked so good on my legs and I didn’t really have the time.

I bought this headband when I was visiting Cher (there will be a post about how long it took me to figure out how to wear it soon).

I didn’t really know what else to wear with it, so my outfit isn’t really well thought out. Meatloafy also REALLY wanted to be in the pics, so she’s in a few!

I love this headband. Everyone at my work really liked it to. It took me a little while to figure out how to wear it though. My ears kinda stick out, so I had to wear it over the tops of my ears, otherwise they stuck out from behind my hair and I looked like an off elephant.

I like how the skirt has a little flair to it, which I feel adds to the flapper feel of the outfit. I had a totally different shirt on, but ended up switching right before I left. I still am not sure why. My other shirt was a two button off-white cardigan over the tank. It kinda looked the same. Eh. Oh well.

I have no idea to wear tomorrow though. I might rewear my ugly Christmas sweater outfit. Which I still need to post… Hmmm…

December 2009

1. Anderson Silva (UFC): Anderson Silva is not only the best middleweight in the world, but also the best Light Heavyweight.  The only things that could possibly slow Silva down at this point would be injuries or age, and those are often one in the same when you’re talking elite athletes in their mid-thirties.  Silva is in fact back in training after a longer than expected recovery period from minor elbow surgery.  My hope is that a Silva vs GSP fight takes place while Silva is still in his prime, and we’d also like to see him step back up to claim the Light Heavyweight title because he is clearly the best, and any other title holder will always have a cloud of doubt hanging over them until they beat Silva, who is the people’s champion of that division.

2. Fedor Emelianenko (Strikeforce/M-1 Global): Say what you will about Fedor’s advancing age, diminishing speed, and questionable conditioning because the bottom line is that he continues to rack up win after win.  Brett Rogers was a top ten heavyweight coming off of an impressive one round knockout of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski, and truth be told, he put up a hell of a battle while it lasted, but in the end the result was the same.  Scott Coker is saying now that Werdum will be Fedor’s next opponent, but we think that most of us are waiting for the Alistair Overeem fight, which will probably be Strikeforce’s first pay per view in 2010.

3. George St. Pierre (UFC): GSP was injured in his last fight, where he completely dominated Thiago Alves, but he is set to return to action in 2010 against Dan Hardy.  The UFC are the best at hyping fights that are almost universally seen as mismatches when first announced, so much so that by fight night we are often surprised when the fight turns out to be just as one sided as we always knew it would be.  The Alves fight was a perfect example of that, and the Hardy fight looks to be deja vu all over again.  GSP is so well rounded, and so well conditioned that it’s hard to see how Hardy could pull that upset off, but I’m sure Dana White and the UFC will convince us otherwise in the hype leading up to it.  When will we see GSP move up to challenge himself and Anderson Silva for the middleweight title?

4. BJ Penn (UFC): Skill wise, BJ Penn might actually be number two on this list, and after his total domination of Diego Sanchez we were tempted to move him up a couple of slots, but until GSP or Fedor loses, we’re going to keep BJ Penn at number four.  At this point, BJ might be the man to make one of those two scenarios happen because he’s cleaned out the UFC’s lightweight division, as far as interesting fights are concerned, and we don’t see BJ Penn dropping down in weight, so it’s onward and upward once again…unless, the UFC can sign Alvarez or Aoki.  Both of those fights have juice on the international stage.  It would be interesting to see a co-promotion with Strikeforce obviously, but Dana and the Fertittas are not likely to make that move any time soon.  The Marinovich brothers have provided the missing piece to the BJ Penn puzzle.

5. Gegard Mousasi (Strikeforce): Gegard Mousasi has one of the most impressive skill sets in mma, but there are still skeptics out there who are unconvinced that he is who we claim he is in terms of being a top ten pound for pound fighter.  After the Machida vs Rua debacle, it’s clear (to us anyway) that Anderson Silva is the best at 205 pounds, but it’s also clear to us that Mousasi might be the only up and coming fighter with the tools to beat Silva.  Long before that happens, we will probably see a Gegard Mousasi vs Dan Henderson super fight, which will help the public at large to better gauge where Mousasi is at this point in his still young mma career.  Mousasi could also cut down to middleweight where many challenges await him if he so chooses.

6. Lyoto Machida (UFC): Coming off a fight that many people felt he lost, Machida’s less than stable position atop the light heavyweight division is even more unstable going into 2010.  Lyoto Machida is currently healing from hand surgery, but as soon as he is healthy we will probably see a rematch with Mauricio Rua, which will make clearer who the second best light heavyweight in the division is behind Silva.  It wasn’t long ago that Machida was being talked about as the Anderson Silva or BJ penn of his division.

7. Jose Aldo (WEC): Jose Aldo is still growing and improving as a mma fighter, but when you consider how dominant he already is, it’s not too shocking that he has managed to take Mike Brown’s former slot on our top ten list.  Some mma sites have posted articles and blog entries claiming that Aldo could make a run at BJ Penn’s lightweight title soon.  While that does seem far fetched at this point in time, it’s clear that Jose Aldo is being looked at as one of the top ten pound for pound mma fighters in the world.

8. Dan Henderson (Strikeforce): Dan Henderson is still basking in the glow of his near decapitation of top UFC middleweight contender Michael Bisping.  The winner of that fight had initially been promised a shot at Anderson Silva.  That second shot never materialized for Henderson, and while he waited, Henderson’s UFC contract ran out.  Dana White and company decided that Dan Henderson wasn’t worth resigning at this stage in his career.  Strikeforce felt otherwise, and soon we will see a Jake Shields vs Dan Henderson middleweight title fight on free television.  Time will tell how much Henderson has left, but he is already perceived as a heavy favorite against the current champion, and there is talk of him moving back up to light heavyweight to challenge for Mousasi’s title once he has established himself as the top middleweight.

9. Brock Lesnar (UFC): Brock Lesnar is still recovering from a recently diagnosed illness, and consequently he has been fairly inactive as fighter and champion of late, but we weren’t willing to remove him from our top ten just yet.

10. Gilbert Melendez (Strikeforce): Gil Melendez is the second best lightweight in the world, although it’s so close a call that Melendez got the top ten nod here based mainly on his rematch victory over Josh Thompson, which just took place on the Cung Le vs Scott Smith card last Saturday, and his reclaiming of the Strikeforce lightweight belt.  A 2010 fight with Aoki may help to clear things up a little better, but the biggest hinderance to any lightweight trying to stake his claim as the best at 155 pounder in the world would have to be the fact that BJ Penn appears to be just hitting his prime.

Other fighters that I considered for top ten mentions were Shinya Aoki, Jake Shields, Nick Diaz, Brian Bowles, and Jon Fitch.

Ya’ll know I look for any reason to shoe shop, whether it be window shopping or actually swiping the card to purchase.  I was walking around the mall with Ma Dukes a few days ago and we stopped in Aldo. This shoe caught my eye:

Queda Campeón del Futbol Mexicano Rayados del Monterrey

Con Goles de Los Rayados, Aldo De Nigris y Humberto Suazo, derrotaron 2-1 al Cruz Azul, Coronandose por tercera ocasión en la Liga, con un marcador global de 6-4.

Monterrey sufrió en los primeros minutos del partido, al aguantar las llegadas del Cruz azul, pegando dos veces el balón en el travesaño.

El triunfo del equipo que dirige Víctor Manuel Vucetich, logró su cuarto título, (con cuatro equipos diferentes).

Tal parece que el aliado que los Rayados tienen en el cielo con Antonio De Nigris, volvió a echarles una mano a los Rayados, y en especial a su hermano Aldo, quien enfiló a los Rayados a la corona al anotar de cabeza el primer gol, a pase de Humberto Suazo, previa jugada magistral de Sergio Santana.

Cruz Azul siguió luchando con su estilo de mandar centros a la olla, y la Máquina le puso emoción al emptara el partido con gol de cabeza de Alejandro Castro, al 77′.

Los pupilos de Enrique Meza siguieron atacando a los regios, pero éstos, en una jugada de contragolpe al minuto 90 tras gran pase de Osvaldo Martínez a Suazo desde media cancha, el chileno definió para el tercer título ante la salida de Jesús Corona.

Los Rayados ganaron su tercer campeonato de liga, luego de comseguir el de México 86 y el del Clausura 2003, el primero bajo el mando de Francisco Avilán, y el otro de la mano de Daniel Pasarella.

Am de facut un rahat de cercetare de marketing pentru proiect de facultate. Trebuie sa ma uit in magazinele ALDO si BENVENUTTI, sa vad cum sunt preturile la diverse produse de marochinarie, cum sunt aranjate in rafturi, cum “ie” trendul si cum sta treaba cu vanzarile – ca o fi greu de vazut: 10 snobi cumparara 20 de produse si aia e vanzarea pe toata ziua / saptamana in magazinele in cauza. Glumesc, oarecum.

Sper ca totul sa dureze doar 1-2 ore. Fac foarte usor icter la snobi si de multe ori imi vine sa le fac niste operatii pentru inlaturarea fitelor si a basinilor. Ustensila pe care imi doresc sa o folosesc este pumnul. Ocazional as folosi si picioru’ pentru rectificari: o deviere de sept, o buza prea subtire…

De ce am boala pe snobi? De mult timp am boala pe snobi… dar in ultimele zile s-a accentuat. Va spun acum de ce: am fost zilele trecute la Bucuresti Mall Vitan sa vad un film. 99.5% din locurile de parcare erau ocupate. Am gasit unul liber exact langa un Maserati. Cum terminam de parcat masina, iese o pitzi din dreapta si imi spune ca nu pot parca acolo. Din cauza volumului de muzica putin “sus”… n-am auzit-o si, de baiet bun ce is, am zis sa las geamu’ jos sa o ascult pe domnisorica sa isi prezinte “oferta” de sex-oralista profesionista umpluta de machiaj si botox. Pana sa repete iar ce a avut ea de zis, a iesit un mic c0c@ de la volanul Maserati-ului si s-a dat nitel in stamba… Iata dialogul nostru:

As if ALDO weren’t great on its own, some genius decided that there should be a store that was strictly for all their cutesy little accessories. And so, ADLO Accessories was born.

They’re located in just about all major malls, including The Galleria in Houston, The Water Tower in Chicago and The Fashion Show in Vegas (I’ve been to all three).  And that’s not all. There are also tons of stand-alone stores that attract newbies to the ALDO family of goods.  And there are LOTS of goods. They sell everything from shades to chandelier earrings and some awesomely cute necklaces in between.

What’s not to love about this place? First of all, it’s everywhere! Plus, the company has been around for years and, though there have been tons of newcomers to the game, they still manage to put out some hot stuff.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking: “Why the hell is Claire’s being mentioned on CollegeCandy?” or “I haven’t been in there since 9^th grade.” Well, shame on you! I bet you haven’t even walked in there. While Claire’s-Icing may not be comparable to KAY Jewelers, they sell some of the most adorable costume jewelry you’ve ever seen, not to mention little clutches and headbands. I don’t think this is the place to go when you’re looking for an engagement ring, but I’m totally for Claire’s when it comes to cheap, plastic, adorable accessories.

Well, they’re back. Last week, I introduced some of you to the wonderful world of Heritage 1981. This week, I would like to welcome you to the wonderful world of Forever 21 Accessories (well, the few of you who’s arms aren’t already covered in their stackable bracelets).

Now I know there are some of you who are avid Anti-21 Shoppers; I’m one of them. As a matter of fact, I have never purchased anything from the store. That is, except for some accessories I purchased online. If you’re not into the low quality or odd sizing of Forever 21’s clothes, I get it. But I strongly urge you to think about them the next time you need you a cute pair of earrings or a killer cocktail ring

There are tons of cute, shiny, beaded, mesh dainty things in there. You may have to search through a few piles and un-knot a few clumps of necklaces to find them, but when you do, they’ll be the shining stars atop your adorable holiday (or any day) outfit. And the best part: the prices are simply stunning.

Their a nice looking shoes, perfect size and not bad arriving time. They haven’t been really comfortable in the beginning of using them but I think they just needs some more use and they’ll be perfect for a daily causal time. I’m glad I got them, good price too!
