Victoria Beckham infuses her own collection with spicy silks and posh patterns

When JLo showed up to the Golden Globes in Donatella’s diaphanous emerald shower curtains, critics began to talk.  When Janet flashed some national nip during the Super Bowl halftime show, hell nearly froze over from such widespread shock caused by an ostensible wardrobe malfunction.  But when Spice Girl turned designer Victoria Beckham crafts a luxe potato sack that’s been put through the dryer a few too many times, drool begins to form a small pool on the ground below.

The strapless dress with delicate silk draping is the most coveted burlap bag this side of Idaho.  An otherwise shapeless frock, when worn by a generally shapeless (though Madonna-worthy muscular), body creates a reverse effect, creating a curvy silhouette with endless panache. It seems that two wrongs can make a right—a very, very right.  Across generations, this feminine look has been emulated in long tie dyes as Alessandra Amrbosio proves in Gypsy 05, short florals as Lindsay Lohan ponders in Pencey, and even plain paneled silks like the Alice + Olivia halter seen on Khloe Kardashian.

But the trophy goes to the inventor of the must-have look of now.  Bravo, V. Becks, for your capacity to flaunt a watercolor canvas of silk more artfully than Georgia O’Keefe, to prove that a tiny little nothing worn by a tiny little nothing can be unequivocally stunning, and to make women everywhere suddenly crave forbidden starches.

Semana passada aconteceu em Nova York um dos desfiles mais esperados do mundo: o VICTORIA’S SECRET FASHION SHOW. A tradição do evento gira em torno de uma receita nada modesta: algumas das modelos mais belas (e caras) do mundo da moda, peças íntimas que são verdadeiros objetos de desejo e um grande show entre uma desfiladinha e outra. Este ano a data escolhida foi dia 19 de novembro e a atração musical foi nada mais, nada menos, que o badalado Black Eyed Peas. Entre as Angels, como são chamadas as modelos da marca, passaram pelo 69th Regiment Armory, nomes como Heidi Klum que, além de desfilar também foi a hostees e Marisa Miller, que carregou o Fantasy Bra, avaliado em US$ 3 milhões.

Vai um sutiã de 3 milhões de dólares aí?

Mas quem dominou mesmo foi o Brasil, já que o desfile contou com seis modelos tupiniquins: Ana Beatriz Barros, Flavia Oliveira, Isabeli Fontana, Izabel Goulart, Carol Trentini e Alessandra Ambrósio que foi a principal modelo do desfile.
O evento faz tanto sucesso que é transmitido (não ao vivo, mas sim alguns dias depois) na TV aberta americana e este ano chegará ao público através da CBS, o maior canal da televisão americana. Aqui no Brasil, a TNT se encarregou de mostrar o show nos anos anteriores, será que este ano também poderemos ver a peças maravilhosas da Victoria`s Secret?

usually i am not interested in commercial models. not that i am so into high fashion models either, especialy seeing how nymphic-like and young most of models are. but certainly commercial models and their heterosexistised behaviours don’t attract me at all. there is an exception though: alessandra ambrosio. i have the feeling that she belongs to the tomboys race, but unfortunately most of times she wears too much make-up for my tastes and just blows kisses around. yet, i like her piercing eyes, her sex-appeal, she evokes a lot of L-thoughts in me…

so this picture is simply a miracle! with little make-up, if not barefaced, ambrosio shines here. too bad she had to wear those wings soon later…

Ya know… If I had to pick between a Comme des Garcons show and a Victoria’s Secret show, I’d pick the latter. I like hoe shit what can I say…

It would be fun, have Bellinis  first, The Fishy would have to help me to my seat, because, I’d be dancing/happy/buzzed and about to fall. The music would be pumping, gooooood times.

Foi na última quinta-feira, 19/11, o esperado desfile anual da Victoria’s Secret, um dos eventos fashion mais esperados do ano, que aconteceu no The Lexington Armory, em Nova York.

O desfile reuniu algumas das maiores modelos do mundo, que obviamente desfilaram seus corpos esculturais vestindo… lingerie: Alessandra Ambrosio, Izabel Goulart, Miranda Kerr, Isabeli Fontana, Marisa Miller, Selita Ebanks, Doutzen Kroes, Heidi Klum, Ana Beatriz Barros, Chanel Iman, Candice Swanepoel. Aliás, foi a primeira aparição pós-gravidez de Heidi Klum, que surgiu na passarela lindíssima como sempre.

A cantora Fergie, que comandou o som, não ficou para trás e exibiu seu belo par de pernas em apresentação com o grupo Black Eyed Peas, que levantou a galera com a música Boom Boom Pow.

A modelo Marisa Miller adentrou a passarela usando um sutiã com diamantes, que custa nada menos que U$ 3 milhões! Confira os looks:

Adrienne Bailon – Perfect dress for her, I love that she decided to stand out in a spearmint green dress. The silver detail on the boots are not cutting it for me though. 4

The Victoria’s Secret fashion show is one of the coolest shows on the runway. Stylist Charlotte Stockdale put together looks that one would think only someone like Tim Burton would think of. From balloon trains and feathered wings to bras that would make a 90 year old woman’s boobs perkier than a 16 year old’s, this years show was a dazzling success. Thanks to Modelinia, VS fans were able to see how just about everything gets put together. With live streaming from backstage and personal interviews with the models, it almost felt as though I was there.

It’s incredible to see all these big time models coming together for a show that is all about women and their divine sexiness. Heidi Klum! Marissa Miller! Alessandra Ambrosio! What a line-up! Even if they weren’t covered in glitter, these models would sparkle down the runway. And not just because they’re stunning, but because you can just tell how happy and excited they are to be there and the fun that they are having.

Ladies, ladies! The 2009/2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show was held in NYC the 19th of November. And the show was as spectacular as ever. The show is usually aired on TV here some time around the end of December and you can bet your bottoms I’m glued to the TV when it’s on. I love the show, it’s so full of glitter, glamour and fabulous lingerie! And each year the same question arises – how do the girls manage to look so good!?

My favorite VS model is Miranda Kerr, who’s your favorite?

I think these women are actual goddesses. I want my wife to look like this.

On the 19 November, in New York, the models came out to play. All I can say is this has to be one of my FAVOURITE catwalk events of the year.

Ontem aconteceu um dos maiores e mais aguardados desfile do mundo da moda, o Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. O desfile é literalmente um show de fantasias, lingeries, corpos esculturais e músicas pop que embalam as passadas das modelos na passarela. Infelizmente ele só irá ao ar no dia 01 de dezembro, mas já conseguimos ter uma palinha do que vem pela frente.

Os temas deste ano foram: Star Trooper (Tropas Estelares), All Aboard (Todos a Bordo), Pink Planet (Planeta Rosa), Enchanted Forest (Floresta Encantada), e Romantic Journey (Jornada Romântica).
A estilista Charlotte Stockdale explica a idéia geral do desfile: “Nós trouxemos a idéia de uma garota que viaja pelo espaço e aterrisa em Paris. Ela pega um trem que a leva até Pinkland, onde está cheio de coisas de garotas rosas. Então ela entra em uma floresta de contos de fada e pequenas joaninhas e borboletas voam até ela, e cipós começam a crescer em suas roupas.  Depois chega a hora do ‘Tic-Tac’, as asas nessa sessão são baseadas em relógios – tem uma que é baseada em um relógio de bolso com penas metálicas. E finalmente ela termina sua jornada num reino encantado de princesinha, onde suas asas são de Swarovski e penas de pavão.” Charlotte, você fumou algum crack ou ingeriu LSD? huaha

Não assisti o desfile completo ainda, portanto não posso afirmar com muita convicção, mas pelo jeito a crise  o afetou totalmente, e me arrisco em dizer que foi um dos mais pobres de toda a história da marca. Bem na real, depois que a Tyra Banks se aposentou, as apresentações começaram a decair cada vez mais. Agora sem a Gisele Bündchen + Adriana Lima (por conta da gravidez das duas), parece que o desfile perdou toda a graça e majestosidade.
Apesar da Marisa Miller + Alessandra Ambrósio + Heidi Klum continuarem em seus cargos de angels, as roupas não seguraram todo esse brilho que o desfile costumava ter. Além de que a passarela em V foi um desastre, acho que as outras modelos recém-contratadas não deram conta do recado de mostrar a sensualidade de uma angel da Victoria’s Secret. Achei tudo meio “concurso de beleza“, elas só queriam ser bonitinhas e não provocar a fantasia das pessoas com sensualidade e corpos ‘curvilíneos’, como costumava ser antes. Salvo algumas peças de roupas, o restante foi um absurdo do ridículo. E até mesmo as famosas asas das angels foram “cortadas” de certa forma.

É impressão minha ou a Marisa Miller é a nova queridinha da marca agora? Ela desfilou as melhores roupas, inclusive o Fantasy Bra - sutiã milionário incrustado de diamantes. Se for, é bem merecido.

Natuurlijk willen de meiden van Victoria’s Secret zelf ook nog even de

bloemetjes buiten zetten en dus is er een afterparty naar de Fashion Show.

De gasten van de show zijn natuurlijk ook welkom, maar het gaat voor-

namelijk om de sterren van de catwalk.  Fergie gaf overigens een optreden

weg tijdens de show, waardoor ze natuurlijk eregast is. En hoe mooi ze

bij aankomst was zo lelijk vind ik haar nu. Maar ik heb wat roddels

gehoord over haar manlief Josh dus ik kan me voorstellen dat het haar

misschien even iets te veel wordt. Deze foto’s zijn overigens niet echt leuk

om te posten. Ze zien er werkelijk allemaal geweldig uit!
