Okay… so it’s been a couple weeks. I lost my job a few weeks ago, and we all know that’s common in this economy (I was working for Weddingbee.com, the top wedding blog, and I loved it). Facing the reality of being back “on the market” with so many other people, I took some time to do tons of thinking, visit some friends, and now I’m back, ready to catch up with all the seriously astounding stuff selling on eBay right now. I still am not sure what exactly I’m going to do now, but I will have to at least temporarily leave NYC and head home to Miami. I’m moving back in about a week. After seeing all the eBay auctions I missed, I’ve been fantasizing about becoming a “professional eBay shopper”.  Talk about a dream job!

Armani Lace Skirt. I mean, come on, just look at it. This is AMAAAAAAAAZING. It retailed for $2695… yeah, and it sold on eBay for $249.99 with the original tags attached… yep. I want to offer mega-congrats to whoever out there won this life-altering skirt on eBay.

Someone nabbed these incredible, embroidered shearling Miu Miu boots. I envy the winner, who got these beauties for just $82.

Whiting & Davis Blue Mesh Handbag. I never imagined loving a mesh handbag until I saw this. Retailed for $300, sold for $74.99.

I also was impressed with this vintage Whiting & Davis mesh top which sold for $162.49.

Oscar de la Renta Boots. I remember seeing these in magazines years ago and being totally blown away. This pair sold for $271, another eBay victory.

Today I met a friend for lunch. I know that she tends to like chain restaurants, and I tend to love breadsticks, so we met in the middle at Olive Garden. Yes. Out of everywhere to go in NYC, I am proud to have chosen Olive Garden (don’t hate me). We had a lot of catching up to do… actually six hours worth. My boyfriend went with me and did a great job of hanging in there as her and I talked all those hours about “girl stuff” (he knows it will always be a 5-8 hour ordeal when I meet up with her, we always have too much catching up to do). Alice McCall have made a collection for Topshop before and because that turned out very well, she’s back. Her Topshop collection is for girls who like to stand out from the crowd and her inspiration is computer games. I’m exited to see what she has in (Topshop)-store for us. The collection will be available from September 25.

There is lots of futuretension at SHOWstudio at the moment. The designer Alice McCall has made a video with her view on the futuretension. I noticed her beautyful clothes in the video and that led me futher to her webside.

All eyes were on Melbourne as the stunningly beautiful Miranda Kerr hotted up the catwalk as part of the David Jones Summer 2008 collections launch. Miranda is one of the only Australian models to date that has become a Victoria Secret model and now takes credit in becoming the new face of David Jones which was previously held by Megan Gale.

Celebrities from all different areas of the film, fashion and tv industry were in attendence, such as Megan Gale, Kimberly Davies, Gai and Kate Waterhouse, just to name a few.

It was an interesting night to say the least, and also the first step in bringing to life a new company “Global Photographics” of which will be used when attending to Media events from here on in with the inclusion of Peter Downing who is now working along side me. Our business will onsell photos to all media being printed and or online websites at competative rates.

I also wanted to mention a quote from Miranda Kerr that was televised on Channel 10’s report of the event. “Don’t compare yourself to anyone else, but just believe in yourself and focus on your positives not on your negatives” ..definitly words to live by coming from a girl who came from a country town of Gunnedah in New South Wales and has since taken the fashion/modeling industry by storm.

To wrap up as a photographer it was incredible to be given the chance to photograph a “Supermodel” such as Miranda Kerr, if you think this is our of your reach its not, I have simply gotten out there and attended events, networked with various persons and over a period of time learnt the methods to obtain media accreditation and who to supply images with. It wont happen over night as they say in some TV commercials however if your in it for the long haul it will happen for you.

Further more it seems that in my attendence at the launch I was filmed by Megan Castran so I will let you know when the video is online, I look forward in seeing the footage.

When walking past Topshop, I noticed this floral dress by Australian designer Alice McCall. It’s probably the most boring and ‘unfashiony’ item in her capsule collection, but could I ever say no to two black bows?

Well I finally got back last night… it feels like I’ve been away for like 3 weeks or something! I’ve literally done that much! I had an absolutely fantastic time. The work wasn’t as difficult as anticipated… and there wasn’t as much stress either! Infact my stress was firmly left inside Oxford Circus tube station (the worst thing you can ever do is attempt taking a full suitcase through Liverpool St Station-Oxford St Station at sodding Rush Hour!! Factually horrendous!)

The weather was absolutely GLORIOUS! It was a high of 17′C in Newcastle, whilst I baked in the sun in a mere 28′C! It was actually hotter than Morocco! amazing! I really really can’t wait to move at the end of July.

So basically, I worked at TOPSHOP HQ, Colegrave House, just off Oxford St. I was working with the Internet team and was given the title, “Website Content Editor”. rofl. so really, I was writing the features and blogs, 3 are live on the site now, and I have a feature focusing on the colour white, a feature on the ra-ra mini, and a 3 page feature on the Alice McCall collaboration.

I hung out with none other than the most ecentric Ross Hancock, designer, of Project Catwalk fame. rofl. he’s hilarious. but a really nice bloke to boot;o

Right, I better get my blogs sorted out! I have a massive list! hehe.
