hey so i know i havent posted in a really long time( even after my sister was yelling at me to make a new one :]) so i have some updates:

• remember the last post( of course not since no ones checked my blog in a million years thanks to me) where my friends      ( so called) were saying pretty mean stuff about anastatia? well they still do it thanks to the idiot i mean j.x. so im not too happy about that and im basically drifting away from my friends from my old school and becoming closer to alina and april and such.

• i went to the movies with april and some of her other friends yesterday. we went to see the princess and the frog and i thought it was pretty cool( though its more of a chick flick)
• so as i have told u, im really close to some people who dont live in my area( remember anna abbie alisha and sarah?) well anna recently got asked out by someone and sarah just told me she claims to be in love. then i later figure out abbie and alisha are also together with someone. is it that these people are trying to get really ahead in the game or is it just that im behind? im perfectly fine with being single but sometimes im not sure… i mean my friend from school, lana, has already been with 5 or something people….. and need i say that alisha anna and lana are younger than me? oh well…. moving on to something a little more fun like….
• WINTER BREAK im so happy …….. ya thats pretty much… :]

so thats it :] sorry again for not updating in 2 months my new years resolution is gonna be to make more posts( of course that requires an interesting life… so that should be accomplished first )

We had a family gathering on Thanksgiving weekend and it was nice to take pictures of my nephews and neices. Here are a few I managed to get after somehow getting the kidz still for posing. Alisha, Alina, Shanan,Sariel, Jake and Christina…thank you little ones for being still for 30 seconds !

You’re from Modesto, were you born here? No, I was born in San Francisco. I’ve lived in Modesto for about half my life.

When did you start singing? When I was about 5 years old.

Wow, that’s young, who inspired you to sing, both professionally and personally? I’d have to say when I was younger my influences were Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Personally my two biggest inspirations were my mother and my grandfather.

Were you affected by the recent loss of Michael Jackson? Yeah, I’ve always admired him. His dancing, everything, his perfection, he always choreographed everything perfect.

How is being a part of the Hip-Hop & music scene in Modesto? Do you get love? Out here it could be better, I get a lot of love, I get love in the Bay Area too. The venues are great, most of the events put together here are awesome, but I think it might be better for rappers. It’s a little harder for upcoming singers to get local support. The more and more I perform, and since I was on KWIN, it has helped boost up the crowd more. Now that they’ve seen me progress I get more feedback, but I’d like to see more support for local artists who are hustling to make it up there.

KWIN hooked it up? Yeah, I won a $20,000 promotional package from them and they’ve been a big part of getting me exposure.

Now you got money to make the album, when can we expect that? The album is not out yet. I’m not going to release it until all the songs are recorded, mixed, and mastered and we got all my best stuff ready. It should be ready by the end of this year.

What’s it going to be called? ‘Peace of Mind’ Peace is actually my middle name.

Who are you working on it with? I’ve worked with Izakane on the single “Too Hot Ta Touch” and also with Cuzin Shawn, he’s a really good producer. If anybody needs any beats they should hit him up. They’re both very talented and local.

What other local rappers do you like? I really like this rapper called Filthy Tone, he’s from Stockton, but he comes down here (to Modesto) and performs sometimes, he’s good.

How was opening for Ice Cube? It was amazing! It was one of those shows where I just felt really good, being able to show a crowd that size my talents.

Who else have you opened for? I performed at LatinFest with Baby Bash, Frankie J, and Pitbull.     

You’re only 20, so you got a long future ahead of you, where do you want to be in 5 years? I would like to have already made it as an artist myself and start helping other people that want to be singers. There are a lot of artists that have made it and they don’t really go out and help other artists pursue their careers. I mean, if you have the money and the tools to help young artists that have talent then why not. I would love to have a record label, sign people, change people’s lives and make them see anything is possible.

How does your Puerto Rican heritage and culture influence your music? Do you feel like you want to be a role model for younger Latinas? Latinos give me a lot of support and it really helps out a lot to have that, it’s really cool. As far as a role model, my main goal is put out really good positive music for the younger people, so they can feel the music but it’s not influencing them in bad way.

Where do you want to be 10 years from now? I still want to be doing my music because that’s what I love to do, but other than that I would like to help out, and I know it sounds cheesy and everybody always says it, but I want to help find cures for diseases like AIDS in Africa, you know, have a charity and try to help.

Are you interested in being on the business side of things? No, not really, honestly I don’t like to deal with that part, it’s really shady and it’s hard to deal with. There are bad parts and good parts to doing music and you run into a lot of the bad parts, but once the good starts coming you appreciate it a lot because of all the hard work you put in.

Anything else you want to say? I just want to thank everybody who has supported me, in the KWIN contest a lot of people voted for me and I want them to know I really appreciate the support and love that’s been shown.

What’s the next step, what are working on right now? Trying to get more exposure, working on the album, and never stopping until I get there…

Ce sunt regretele de fapt? Sentimentele de părere de rău?  Ceea ce simţi atunci când ai făcut ceva şi nu trebuia să faci, sau când nu ai făcut ceva şi ai fi vrut să faci? Aproximativ toată lumea are regrete. De la mic la mare. Astăzi când mi s-a dat leapsa de către Ionuţ ca să raspund la întrebarea: ”care-s regretele voastre din copilarie si pana acum?”, am rămas pe gânduri. M-am uitat în trecutul meu şi am observat că nu prea am regrete. Şi am zis totuşi…

Regretul meu cel mai mare este că nu sunt tot timpul aşa cum ar trebui. Că fac oamenii la care ţin tot timpul să sufere şi nu îi las foarte mult să se apropie de sufletul meu. Probabil va-ţi fi aşteptat să zic că regretul meu cel mai mare este că s-a terminat o prietenie frumoasă de mulţi ani între mine şi fosta mea cea mai bună prietenă. Da, îmi pare rău că s-a terminat dar nu regret. Aşa am ajuns să descopăr cine ţine la mine cu adevărat, ce înseamnă iertarea şi cât de mult am ţinut la ea prin faptul că am suferit atât de mult. Şi dintr-o întâmplare din care am avut ce învăţa, nu am ce regreta.

Nu regret faptul că am suferit foarte mult, asta m-a făcut să devin ceea ce sunt azi. Tot ce regret este că nu sunt o persoană mai buna, o persoană care să aducă fericirea în inimile celor de lângă mine, cu orice preţ. Şi mai regret ceva. Regret că nu am o voce de înger. Aş cânta zilnic.  Regret că nu sunt zilnic o ALINAre şi că nu pot face lumea un loc mai bun. Regret şi mă doare inima când văd un copil orfan sau un bătrân părăsit.

Regret că nu pot lua regretele din inima celor de lângă mine. Regret- să fie, sau să nu fie?

Rebobinando: me dejo caer por kind of blue, una tienda de música a la vuelta del estudio, atendida por personajes curiosos, entre ellos uno de aspecto japonés, sonriente, de mechas blancas sobre los hombros, quien declara que siente deseos de estrangular a Keith Jarret cada vez que lanza gemidos al piano, eso mientras yo les estaba comprando un CD del propio Keith Jarret. Días más tarde regresé a la tienda, a la busca de algún sonido nuevo para mi espíritu, algo, una necesidad imprecisa, y sin saber mucho qué hacer anoté mentalmente algunos de los nombres de los CDs más atractivos (me guío sobre todo por los colores y las tipografías) para revisarlos luego en You Tube. Ahí escuché Spiegel im Spiegel de Arvo Pärt (una composición minimalista en base a 3 ó 4 notas), me pareció entre tonta y mística, no sé si es total, o si figura quizá en alguna serie de relaxation music…. Nuevamente a la tienda, cojo el CD de Arvo y además uno de jazz nórdico como por poner miscelánea, y me permito indagar un poco con el dependiente, quien me asegura sonriendo que el jazz europeo es en general, lamentable. Añade que para quienes les gusta eso, el CD nórdico que acaricio con la mano puede estar bien. Me decido, pues, por Arvo (carísimo), y ahora sus tres notas blanquean mi estudio.

Way back in June I told everyone that I had a new Alina Vacariu shoot and posted the 1 shot directly below.  Many of you have written patiently waiting as I bragged it was hot!  For the record, I was waiting as well.  Alina and I selected our favorites, the agents got involved, we all traveled to different places, worked a lot….time flies.  The good news is the agents didn’t cut anything and we got some beautiful natural light shots of Alina.

Here is the shot I posted back in June.  Alina and I have shot together a couples and you can see some more fashion and beauty photos here and here.

Here are 3 very similar shots of Alina Vacariu almost nude.  Not that you need me to say it, but I was there.  Alina is beautiful in person; sexy.  We had a really had time choosing a favorite.  Any thoughts on 1,2,or 3?

For those of you who are tech photography junkies like me, the lighting was just simple window light behind Alina and whatever light was bouncing around my studio.  I shot with my Canon 1DS Mark III at ISO1600 (It wasn’t as bright as it looked!) at 1/125 sec at F1.4 on the Canon 85mm 1.2 lens.  This is part of my natural light series.

Cei care ascultau pop-ul american comercial din 2000 cu siguranţă au ascultat acest album de 6 piese în neştire. Dragostea este subiectul de bază al vedetei pre-fabricate în România. O armată de producători şi textieri (formată din Robby G., Marius Băraş, Andrei Kerestely, Papa Junior şi Răzvan Ştefaniu) şi-a unit forţele pentru a transforma Alina într-un Britney Spears sub-carpatic. Melodiile sunt puternic ritmate; N-aş fi crezut este pe departe piesa cea mai “britniană” (ne oprim aici şi nu o vom compara cu Hit Me Baby One More Time tsk, tsk, tsk).

Primul semn este pentru că fata are voce. Al doilea semn este pentru producătorii care au imitat foarte bine

“Mai ştii ce s-ar putea întâmpla în viitor? Se închid graniţele, iesim din Uniune?”

Aşa îmi spune colega mea de apartament, încercând să mă convingă să mă duc într-un loc frumos de Revelion. Mai mult decât atât, chair ea se decide să păzească graniţele ca să fie sigură că ne întoarcem înapoi.

Alina. Ce nume simplu, ar spune Vama Veche.

La ultima ieşire în oraş cu un tip, Alina nu a păzit prea bine graniţele propriului buzunar şi a plătit consumaţia: 9 lei. A lăsat o bancnotă de 10 lei pe tejgheaua de la bar iar tânărul dobitoc a luat restul de 1 leu. Când a aflat vestea de la colega mea, a plecat împiedicându-se de propria zgârcenie. Nu, Alina nu va mai iesi niciodată cu tineri dobitoci.

Alinuţa conduce un Fiat Punto pe care încă nu l-am botezat. Mai are timp, ţinând cont că face pe taximetrista ori de câte ori suntem prea comode să luăm autobuzul. Nu ne ia bani pentru cursă, vrea doar să punem contribuţia la cărat ficusul prin oraş, la cărat sacoşele cu provizii sau la… cursurile de actorie pe care speră să le urmeze cândva.

Alina lucrează la  un call center şi parleşte în italiană zi de zi, oră de oră, full time. Şi-a ales un master legat de Europa şi încearcă să nu se despartă nici măcar cu gândul la italienii pe care încearcă să îi convingă să vorbească cu ea.

Dacă Alina se supără, nici liftul nu mai merge cum trebuie. Daca Alina râde, iese soarele.

Şi cum să nu mă bucur de ea? Mai ales când dă televizorul la maxim şi spune: “Mă apucă învierea a doua până găsesc ce îmi trebuie!”

I’m off to a SEO workshop tonight and I’m strangely excited. What is SEO you ask? Well, it is Search Engine Optimization. It’s basically how to be Google friendly. Google doesn’t currently like me that much so I have work to do to change that. And I’m jazzed to learn all about it. I’m not normally that geeky but it is so essential to any photographer’s business. (No comments Nadine… contrary to what you think, I’m not that geeky. Honest). I’m considering scrapping my website and having a blog driven portfolio site. So many questions to ask. …

I’m not even sad about missing Flamenco tonight.

In other news… I managed to delete yesterdays picture! AHHH!!! It wasn’t good, but there goes my unbroken string of over 100 straight days of picture taking. Not really, because I did take the picture. But nobody knows but me

Maybe it is a good thing. It was awfully dark and made me kind of look like a demon. Which is always hawt.

What can I say? Hallow’s Eve 09 was probably the most fun one I’ve had in a while. The last three years in college did not treat me too well, as I always stayed cooped up in my dorm to study for upcoming midterms, but this year, I decided to kick it up a notch…and actually embark on a Halloween escapade with friends!

Perhaps the most exciting part of all this was transforming our identities for the night. After our massive brainstorming session, Alina decided to be Britney Spears’ Asian clone, while I showed my true colors and transformed into Secret Agent M. Since Alina was going out as a major celebrity, it only made sense for me to be her body guard. ;] Thanks to our resourcefulness, the costumes surprisingly turned out better than expected, and throughout the night, we managed to stay in character around Westwood. When we rendezvoused with the other PEGGYs at David’s Halloween Bash, I thought that Peggy and Nancy’s costumes were not bad either! Nancy’s fluffy sheep ears were well done and suitably adorable, while Peggy’s flasher costume was pretty rad. I seriously thought she wanted to imitate the late MJ for the night, but she insisted that a flasher was more befitting of her character. ;P As you can tell, it was indeed a happy Halloween. :]

But like always, all fun things come to an end, which means more Chemistry Subject GRE studying. I will face this second blasted child of ETS next Saturday morning! This is perhaps one of the few exams for which I seriously do not feel prepared to take, but all I can hope for is the best. Theoretically, I should know the material, since I have studied it for the last three years of my life for Pete’s sake! Hopefully, I’ll come out there half way alive next Saturday. Just when I thought I was done with the general GRE, another one shows up on my plate. Ah well….what can you do?

Afterwards, it’s more application preparation time, research, getting my letters of recommendation together, and somehow trying to survive my classes this quarter. The stress in life never ends…and that’s why I wish every day was like Halloween. Realistically, I know this can’t happen, but it never hurts to have fun once in a while. :]
