Nos posts anteriores sobre o lançamento do álbum Realidade Paralela mostramos duas músicas do repertório do disco: Arrastão e Luz da nobreza, que representam duas gerações de compositores de MPB: aquela consagrada na década de 1960, tendo como exemplo Edu Lobo e Vinicius de Moraes e outra mais recente, exemplificada por Pedro Luis e Zé Renato.

Mas o Realidade Paralela não está atento apenas a belos exemplos da música brasileira, mas também interage com as músicas do cenário pop-rock internacional. É o caso da versão que fizeram da música All because of you, lançada no álbum How to dismantle an atomic bomb (2004) da banda U2. Abaixo, portanto, deixo o clipe da música dos irlandeses (a incorporação do vídeo é proibida, por isso cliquem nele e assistam no VocêTubo) e depois a versão  bela e criativa da música interpretada pelo grupo Realidade Paralela.

Saudações musicais!

As PUFFY (conhecidas também como Puffy AmiYumi!) lançaram no Japão no dia 17 de junho o sua décimo primeiro album, intitulado “Bring It!”. A dupla, formada por Ami Onuki e Yumi Yoshimura, é bastante popular, porém esta popularidade é bem maior fora do território japonês. Este album contém 13 faixas e em sua versão limitada vêm com um DVD contendo algumas apresentações que elas fizeram na costa leste dos Estados Unidos em 2005. Dentre as faixas do album estão os três últimos singles lançados por elas: “All Because Of You”, “My Story” e “Hiyori Hime”. Além disso, o album conta com colaborações de vários artistas famosos, dentre eles estão: Shiina Ringo, Kazuyoshi Saito, Masahiko Shimura (do Fijifabric), Sawao Yamanaka (do The Pillows) e a cantora canadense Avril Lavigne.

Atualmente as PUFFY não estão vendendo muito bem. Seus últimos singles não alcançaram sequer a posição #30 do chart semanal da ORICON. Vamos torcer (ou não) para elas conseguirem ficar ao menos no top 10 semana que vem com esse album.

Leo Ku 古巨基 has got to be one of my fave HK singers of all time. I think I’ve ranted on and on abut how I dont’ like HK music(cantopop) or CPop much because of how a lot of songs sound the same, singers can’t sing, anybody can be a singer…but Leo Ku, he’s EXCELLENT. He debuted way back in the 90s (1994 to be exact), so I guess you can consider him a 90s singer along with Leon Lai, Jacky Cheung, etc. He’s actually 36. He totally doesn’t look it. At all. To tell you the truth, he wasn’t that well known in the beginning of his career. It was actually not until around 2003~2005 he became a huuuge hit in HK. He was referred to as one of the 新四大天王 (New Four Big Heavenly Kings) along with Edmond Leung, Hacken Lee, and Andy Lui. Song songs he’s well known for are 勁歌金曲 (which lasts 10 minutes), Monica, 歡樂今宵, 天才與白痴, 愛回家 (which starred Katie Leung in one vr of the MV, she’s known for being Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies), 愛得太遲, and I could go on forever…One of his biggest hits was 愛與誠 (Ai Yu Ching/Love and Honesty)came along. The song soared to number 1 on the charts, I think everyone in HK knew the chorus line of  ‘別再做情人　做隻貓做隻狗　不做情人 做隻寵物至少可愛迷人’ In fact, Zhou Mi from Super Junior -M sang the song during their concert in HK on December 27 2008 (that wasn’t that long ago…). He sounded GREAT ^^ Never knew Zhou Mi could sing canto so well. He hardly had an accent.

He recently released , a sort of an album on April 21st called Strings Fever. All the songs have string instrumental background. Half of the album he sings, and the other half…it’s string instrumentals. He’s also been having a series of concerts in HK named Eye Fever. They ended not long ago in fact…if you can’t tell…this is going to be LONG post XD

My absolute FAVOURITE song from the album is called 亂, it’s EXCELLENT. The strings orchestra with a mix of a beat and his voice just blend so well. Plus the meaning is really great. I have the chinese lyrics…if you can read chinese XD I’ll put them in a separate post cuz this post is getting incredibly long haha!

O filme do U2 em três dimensões chega finalmente ao Brasil em 29 de agosto, mas apenas em sete salas. No Rio será no Cinemark do Downtown na Barra, onde assisti na quinta de manhã, no UCI do Norte Shopping e no UCI do New York City Center. É uma experiência de tirar o fôlego em termos de imagem e só não foi em termos de som porque tinha uma caixa do lado esquerdo totalmente bichada. Como o principal atrativo no caso era a imagem passou. O som é igual ao do show, só falta mais volume, mas a clareza do 5.1 é excepcional e a mixagem joga os instrumentos para os diversos lados da sala conforme os músicos se movimentam.

Vi os dois shows dessa turnê “Vertigo” em  São Paulo e vê-lo na tela com altura-largura-profundidade é uma experiência superior a ver ao vivo. As 18 câmeras de 3D utilizadas pelos diretores Catherine Owens e Mark Pellington nos levam para dentro do estádio e do palco com uma clareza de detalhes que não se tem no local e muito menos com o filme em duas dimensões. No começo quando a grua vem de trás rumo à bateria de Larry Mullen Jr. tem-se a sensação de que a bateria está na nossa frente. A banda entra, estamos no palco, Bono conta “uno, dos três, catorze” para desencadear ”Vertigo” e a sensação é de estar a um metro dele. Em muitos momentos sua imagem é destacada bem na frente e bem grande, quando ele estende a mão tem-se a sensação de que se pode estender a nossa e cumprimentá-lo.

Quando as câmeras acompanham os músicos pela passarela vemos a platéia com grande detalhamento, as expressões de encantamento pela proximidade dos ídolos. Há tomadas feitas do meio da platéia em que as pessoas levantam os braços na nossa frente, teve uma vez que dois dedos em “V” surgiram de repente na minha cara. Nas tomadas de longe a sensação de profundidade é muito realista.

As gruas permitem que a gente veja os músicos em planos únicos, sem cortes, com grande efeito, especialmente quando Edge está ao piano em “Miss Sarajevo” e sobre a bateria de Larry. O mesmo acontece com Adam Clayton, projetado em nossa direção várias vezes como se a ponta do baixo fosse bater na nossa cara e as imagens de The Edge permitem ver em detalhes como ele trabalha as músicas.

A maior parte do filme é o show da Argentina. Na parte em que Bono fala os nomes dos países da América Latina, a citação do Brasil merece uma ruidosa gritaria de aprovação, ao contrário do que aconteceu em São Paulo, quando a menção da Argentina provocou uma imensa vaia que deixou o vocalista sem entender nada.

São 84 minutos que passam muito rápido. Oito concertos foram filmados na América Latina com tomadas específicas em cada um: planos médios no México, planos abertos em São Paulo, o show todo em Buenos Aires. E algumas tomadas de platéia na Austrália. O longa usa a tecnologia da empresa 3ality Digital que usa nove pares de câmeras, uma para o olho direito, outra para o olho esquerdo e a montagem permite que o cérebro processe a imagem como faz com qualquer coisa que a gente vê.

U2 3D é o primeiro filme de um show em três dimensões e muitos certamente virão. Me ocorreu logo que ”Shine a light”, dos Rolling Stones, em 3D seria o máximo pelos super closes que Martin Scorsese registrou. Hollywood também está investindo no 3D. “Shrek 4” será neste formato e George Lucas lança em 2009 o primeiro “Guerra nas Estrelas” em 3D e promete um por ano na seqüência. A única coisa que pode retardar a disseminação do 3D é a escassez de salas, só 1.200 no mundo, apenas nove no Brasil (duas no Rio, seis em São Paulo, capital e interior, e uma em Florianópolis e outras a caminho). Em cartaz atualmente, “Viagem ao centro da Terra”, que a crítica do Globo Online, Bianca Kleinpaul, diz que só vale pela experiência em 3D. Em duas dimensões nem pensar.

I notice from my stats that this is the most searched for and viewed page on my entire blog!  So if you are here looking for U2 photos, welcome!  I am sorry that I don’t have more to offer you than the link above to the U2 3D movie.  I do hope that you will stick around and check out some of the other articles on my blog, and would LOVE for you to leave a comment below to let me know where you are from.  I think its amazing that people from all over the world are somehow finding my blog through a U2 search.  I wish I had more to offer you than a link to another page!

U2 is one of my favorite bands.  Its difficult to really choose a favorite because the bands I like are pretty different from one another, kind of like comparing apples to oranges.  But in any event, I am in love with the music and lyrics produced by this band.  I have only had the privilege of seeing them in concert ONCE.  So sad, I know.  But tickets are nearly impossible to get, the sell out so fast and the fan clubs get the good pre-sale deals.

I would love to hear from some of you visitors, where have you seen U2 in concert?  What tour/year? What are some of your favorite songs? Why do you love the band?

Its difficult for me to describe why I love the band.  I really connect with the music first and foremost.  They are so talented.  Even if there were no lyrics, I would still be moved my the music.  They say that 80% of communication is non-verbal.  I think that music falls into the non-verbal category.

Not to disregard the lyrics, this is icing on the cake!  I love U2 because their songs are no arbitrary.  The lyrics are intentional and carry meaning.  I really appreciate this in a band.  They recognize they have a platform to communicate with the world and they leverage that, I believe, for the good of man kind. Their messages encourage us to make the world a better place.
