You may have heard about Slipknot canceling their current tour due to Joey Jordison falling ill. It’s just been reported that a burst appendix is the cause of the drummer being sidelined. The band is planning on getting back on the road when he is ready to return.

There is also word of a new Slipknot album coming out in 2010. Stay tuned.

Slipknot vor lansa albumul de studio cu numărul cinci în 2010. Cel mai recent material al formaţiei poartă numele All Hope Is Gone şi a fost lansat anul trecut sub egida casei de discuri Roadrunner Records. De asemenea piesa Psychosocial ce figurează pe albumul All Hope Is Gone, a fost nominalizată pentru premiile Grammy la categoria Best Metal Performance, însă aceştia au pierdut în faţă celor de la Metallica ce s-au impus cu My Apocalypse, ce face parte din cel de al noulea album de studio al acestora, Death Magnetic. Asi es, la banda de los 9 mothefuckers lanzaran nuevo disco para el 2010, esto segun en palabras del percucionista Chris Fehn, agrego que la banda ya esta trabajando en nuevas canciones, con miras al lanzamiento del año que viene.

El trabajo pareciera que apenas va comenzando, ya que Slipknot actualmente se encuentra de gira, y asi sera durante estos meses, ya que el ultimo concierto que esta programado es el dia 5 de septiembre del presente, en Milwaukee, Estados Unidos. Esto nos quiere decir que la banda no se tomara descanso alguno.

Por mi parte, sigo esperando que den fechas para conciertos en Mexico, ya que en diciembre del año pasado Paul Gray, bajista de la banda, mando un mensaje donde decia que habria conciertos en Latinoamerica y Mexico, asi que lo ultimoque muere es la esperanza ;D (ALL HOPE IS GONE???).

A banda Slipknot deu entrevistas dizendo que suas máscaras foram inspiradas em filmes. Desde a primeira até a atual, modificadas para o álbum All Hope Is Gone.
Pensando nisso, decidi montar esse “guia” falando sobre as semelhanças entre as máscaras e alguns possíveis filmes em que a banda tenha se inspirado para o visual impactante desse no era, AHIG.
Gostaria de deixar claro que isso foi retirado da internet e traduzido POR MIM, e que nada foi confirmado oficialmente pela banda.

Victor Dr. Doom pode ser visto no último filme da série “O Quarteto Fantástico“.
É evidente que nós vemos e traços semelhantes entre a máscara e as características de Sid. O estilo futurista, metade ciborgue Voltamos então a acreditar que foi Sid foi inspirado no Dr. Doom.

Jesus Cristo

Jesus Cristo pode ser visto em vários filmes antigos da Bíblia, mas recentemente, teve “sua” participação em “A Paixão de Cristo“.
Quando foi lançada a primeira imagem da nova máscara de Joey Jordison, todos pensaram a mesma coisa: iria causar polêmica. E isso aconteçeu. Com a coroa de espinhos como Jesus Cristo, Joey gerou discussões entre os fãs do Slipknote e cristãos. De qualquer forma, esse “inspiração” foi clara.

# 2 Paul Gray

Hannibal Lecter

A boca da máscara de Paul é visivelmente inspirado pelo “focinho” utilizado por Anthony Hopkins em “Hannibal – O Filme“.

# 3 Chris Fehn

Pinóquio

Esta já é antiga e clássica. Chris Fehn opta por usar uma máscara com 30 centímetros de nariz, obviamente inspirada pela história infantil “Pinóquio“.

# 4 James Root

Eric Draven

A máscara tem traços de pinturas semelhantes à personagem da série de terror / thriller “O Corvo“. Muitos também acreditam que a máscara de James é inspirada em antigas pinturas utilizadas por bobos da corte.

# 5 Craig Jones

Pinhead

A máscara de Craig tem presença de pregos, assim como o personagem do filme ‘Hellraiser‘.

# 6 Shawn “Clown” Crahan

The Gimp

A nova máscara do Clown têm referências ao masoquista Gimp, usada pelo filme “Pulp Fiction“, de 1994.
Couro preto, zíperes e outros adornos me fazem crer que têm uma relação entre os dois.

# 7 Mick Thomson

Personagens de Underworld aleatório (?)

Nunca vi esse filme, mas eu achei essas fotos de alguns guardas (?) No novo filme da série ‘Underworld‘ e estou impressionado com a semelhança entre capacete e máscara de Mick Thomson.

Um admirador da série “Halloween“, Corey Taylor disse em algumas entrevistas que desde o início do Slipknot, suas máscaras são influenciadas pelo personagem principal dos filmes de terror.

Slipknot definetly have to be the best train music, if not the best there defo up there…

They’ve spawned a generation of sick sick sick metalcore bands, and influenced a fuck load of kids to go and just rip it up!!

They’ve been around for 10 years and in no way is there music dated, there first album is still original and unique, there latest album is flawless and a breath of fresh air without being too far removed from the slipknot we love!! Sickness!! And they’ve put lasted all that shit from the early 00’s like taproot, pod, mushroom head, American head charge etc., confirming there place in metal history along with greats like megadeth, slayer, metallica, rage and sabbath amongst others of course!!

Well, kids… 

Until now I have tended to keep all of you guys in the dark about new videos and what is coming to the channel. However, seeing as I am a DICK and haven’t posted new videos lately, I figured I’d let you guys know what’s coming.

1) All Hope Is Gone – Trivium/Coheed & Cambria/SlipKnoT – REVIEW 

I hope to have this vid turned out by Tuesday, if all goes as planned. (keep your fingers crossed for me).

2) The F Word 

Hehehe… this’ll be a fun little project I will probably film at the same time as my AHIG review. This is the next little comedic skit from ThatGuyCliff. 

3) The Dream Challenge  

This will be one of the first actually serious videos I’ve done on the channel. This is something that could go big across YouTube if we promote it. It is a challenge to everyone on YouTube in memory of Randy Pausch. 

4) Gays, Lesbians, Bears, OH MY!

So yea… I’m a douche. I have been promising this video to a viewer for a while now and haven’t yet produced it. Cars, if you read this, I promise it is still in the works!

Hey guys,

You may know that last night I went to the All Hope Is Gone tour featuring Trivium, Coheed & Cambria and SlipKnoT. The show was absolutely amazing, there is a video coming to the YouTube channel soon that has my full review.

In short, however, I say DO NOT MISS THIS TOUR. It is phenomenal. SlipKnoT are celebrating 10 years of scaring parents and making ears bleed with their friends and family across the country. The 10 years of experiences shows quite clearly in their amazing stage performance, not to mention the music.

I left yesterday afternoon at about 1:00 and got home at 4am… haha Today I feel like I was hit by a truck and for the first half of the morning wasn’t sure what day it was… but daaaamn was it worth it.

Anyway, just wanted to share a few thoughts now as I don’t know when I’ll get the review video up (probably going to be next week).

In the meantime, here’s a few photos (more up on Facebook).
