Puntuale come un orologio svizzero Deejay Tv è finalmente partita al posto di All Music pochi minuti fa! Ancora sconosciuto il palinsesto e come sarà organizzata la tv. Di sicuro ci sarà la diretta di Deejay Chiama Italia con Linus e Savino, ancora ignoto gli altri programmi se avranno accesso anche televisivo o solo radiofonico e la tv sarà usata per trasmettere video. Beh, Deejay è, secondo me(e qui non alziamo un polverone Deejay vs 105) la migliore radio nazionale, sono contento sia arrivata anche Deejay tv!

Forse nei prossimi mesi il gruppo di Rupert Murdoch, oltre ai canali satellitari Sky, troverà posto anche tra le frequenze del digitale terrestre. A rivelarlo è il sito Dagospia:

Still strutting their stuff, Every Time I Die’s newest album, New Junk Aesthetic, can simply be described as heavy, fast and eccentric.

New Junk Aesthetic was described by Shawn of Review Rinse Repeat as, “Beginning, the har­mony unit­ing the archaic and mod­ern alike is clearly accounted for.“

These Buffalo boys got together in 1988 and debuted their LP Gutter Phenomenon in 2005, which they used to establish themselves as the new sound in both country and metal. Gutter Phenomenon was the first of many albums to take listeners on a journey in which they had not previously experienced.

New Junk Aesthetic has the same old Every Time I Die sound, the album lacks amounts of new creativity, yet highlights the bands talents. So may argue that Every Time I Die needs to adjust their sound to the “new metal listeners,” but why? They have established a strong sound that has drawn in numerous fans.

Drew Beringer of Absolute Punk explained why in his review of Every Time I Die’s latest release.

“Every Time I Die wants to destroy the world. While their previous albums have inflicted some damage on Mother Earth, the Buffalo quintet is not satisfied. The fact of the matter is ETID wants to leave their mark, so they’ve promised that their fifth studio album (and Epitaph debut), New Junk Aesthetic, would blow a huge gaping asshole into the earth,” explained Beringer.  “So if you’ve felt the earth shake recently, that’s just me recklessly playing this album way too loud, as New Junk Aesthetic is the heaviest Every Time I Die record to date.“

As the life of both the party and the funeral, Every Time I Die opens on a strong yet smooth note with Roman Holiday (track 1). Roman Holiday begins to set the mood for the rest of the album and fully captures attention. Using the unique combined sound of a car halting to a screeching stop and a pre show tuning to open and close the track, Every Time I Die allows you a moment to pause and embrace what is going to happen and what has just happened.

Missing the unrolling screams of vocalist Keith Buckley, don’t worry they are soon to come, along with a new surprise as K. Buckley tries his hand at melodic singing.

Prepare yourself, because the tracks to fallow Roman Holiday are rapid, violent, atrocious and powerful.

Who Invited The Russian Soldier? (track 3) is the first track on the album to fully embrace the bands brutality. Drummer, Mike Novak, hits the pause right on beat and fulfills the silence with that hardly capture his talents. Mixed in with the vicious drums are dramatic guitars, as Jordan Buckley and Any Williams, just begin to showcase their talents.

Incase you forgot that Every Time I Die is not your typical band (as if that is possible), they remind you with Wanderlust (track 4).

While Buffalo may not scream southern blues,  K. Buckley makes this stereotype seem ridiculous. Prepare your ears to be dumbfounded as K. Buckley successfully mixes his unrolling screams with the sound of sweet southern blues to create a twangy brutal sound. Along with him, guitarist, J. Buckley and Williams, exeunt their talent changing tempos and using a mixture of unique sounds.

Continuing to show case their talents, Every Time I Die continues on their musical journey to For the Record (track 5). Their lyrical skills are more than exemplified on For the Record, as K. Buckley’s lyric-writing becomes choppy and poetic. While the lines are embellished in K. Buckley’s screams, take a moment to read the lyrics and truly enjoy the tale of a fugitive who finally got caught.

An attacking lyrical opening leads into a strong ranting and back to attacking, as Every Time I Die takes the call and response out of the interments and hands the responsibility over to K. Buckley. But, J. Buckley,  Williams, Novak and Josh Newton, bassist, do not take a back seat on this track (or any for that matter). Guitar, bass and drums all rage on with simple beats and rhythms that combined to capture their true talents, For the Record allows these boys to proclaim that they have mastered the back-to-basics and can spice it up with a touch of personality.

Every Time I Die continues to storm on track after track with a new attack and story.  Buffalo 666 (track 12) provides as a closing intensified metal track in which K. Buckley proves his mastered skill of screaming.

New Junk Aesthetic ends on a fun and unique sound. Goddamn Kids These Days (track 13) incorporates everything that you have heard on the previous tracks to create an ending masterpiece. Amongst various tempo changes, you will find K. Buckley move from unrolling screams, at times with a blunt forcefulness to melodic singing which creates a sound that captures your ears and makes you wonder where the band is going to take their sound next. From fast to slow, unrolling to blunt, Goddamn Kids These Days is a powerful call out to all who have failed to listen to the mistakes of those who came before them.

Whether the sound is the same as the last album or not, Every Time I Die has done what they do best and made a commotion. Their big depute on Epitaph Records, “Further refined their signature approach with a new sonic clarity and an occasional focus on melodic hooks,” said Pemberton Roach of All Music.

New Junk Aesthetic is nothing to be looked over, but a simple step forward and sampler of what more Every Time I Die posses to offer in the future.

Drummer/composer Harris Eisenstadt’s latest release, Canada Day (Clean Feed), officially hits the streets today.

The record, the Toronto native’s eighth as a bandleader, is the debut of his primary working ensemble, also called Canada Day, featuring Nate Wooley (trumpet), Matt Bauder (tenor saxophone), Chris Dingman (vibraphone) and Eivind Opsvik (bass).

It documents his original book of music for the group, which was written for the specific musical personalities of these musicians and developed in live performances in New York and beyond over the past three years.

“The material on the group’s self-titled album is as exciting as it is diverse,” declares Dusted’s Marc Medwin, “with any clichés about group telepathy sounding entirely appropriate. Precision and spontaneity make every gesture simultaneously soloistic and supportive as the structures wend their complex but catchy ways forward. He’s the lynchpin of an exciting aggregate.”

“Drawing upon some of the best new talent in the Brooklyn scene,” explains AllAboutJazz.com’s Troy Collins, “Eisenstadt’s formidable quintet is as capable of adventurous timbral explorations as they are of in-the-pocket swing. Blending a mid-’60s Blue Note vibe with elastic post-rock grooves and subtle West African influences, Eisenstadt successfully unites his assorted interests into a cohesive ensemble sound. An accessible blend of inside and outside traditions delivered by an empathetic young ensemble, Canada Day is a welcome addition to the burgeoning discography of one of the new generation’s leading composers.”

AllMusic.com’s Michael G. Nastos adds, “A composer of great depth and diversity, Eisenstadt proves a fine trap drummer for this recording, and a formidable bandleader who deserves more recognition in both areas. The cohesion of the ensemble, glued by the steady, steaming, streaming rhythms of Eisenstadt, keeps the listener focused and compelled to hear more…this is a strong candidate for Top Ten status in the category of best jazz CDs of 2009.”

Tá na moda aparecer banda de integrantes de bandas diversas em uma nova. Já tem tempo, o Audioslave tornou isso febre quando reativou o Rage com o Chris Cornell e vem acontecendo bastante deste então.

Depois isso foi seguido por mais alguns:

Succede anche questo. Quattro ragazze, biondissime, bellissime, decidono di mettere su una band, fanno un video fra il sexy e l’ironico che accompagna il loro primo singolo. Senza una casa discografica, senza un management. E soprattutto, distribuendo il brano in download gratuito (con licenza Creative Commons), il primo in Italia con licenza Copyleft e non Siae. E il pezzo finisce in rotazione su All Music.

“Se ne va” è il brano d’esordio delle Millionaire Blonde. Molto elettropop, molto europeo. Insomma, abbiamo sentito in giro commenti terribili su questo pezzo ma non siamo d’accordo. E’ carino, fa presa. E poi in Europa ci sono band che fanno questa musica da anni con ottimi risultati (avete presente i Cascada?) in termini commerciali e di audience radiofonico.

E poi il fatto che non abbiano nessuno dietro, che se la cantino e se la suonano (anche bene, peraltro), che siano ragazze normali, laureate (dunque con una cutura) e non “prodotti costruiti” depone a loro favore e vale una promozione. E’ che noi italiani facciamo molto gli snob, a volte.

Un pezzo come questo (che non è un capolavoro, ma è grevolissimo, si fa ascoltare e ci fa alzare dalla sedia, che non è poco), in altri paesi europei (Germania, Danimarca, Svezia, tanto per fare qualche esempio), sarebbe lanciato nell’airplay in pompa magna. Perchè altrove l’elettropop è quasi una religione. E se andasse sul palco dell’Eurofestival, farebbe una ottima figura.

KiD CuDi speaks about his upcoming first album, Man On The Moon: The End of the Day. Really profound things said in this interview. I’m telling you, this dude is about to make a classic. He is making that next shit.

What i’m doing is trying to end the segregation between genres…and fusing them together and make one “super-song” so to speak. But just do it in a way that’s appropriate. Not just, (mockingly) “Oh man i want to do a record with ‘this band,’ because it’s a band, and we need to fuse hip hop with alternative rock because that’s ‘the new thing to to.’…No. That’s been done before. What’s the next shit?….
I know alot of people say, “Yo man my album’s going to be crazy, it’s going to be like nothing you’ve ever heard before.” Literally, i’m not lying. It’s the truth. You’re probably going to hear alot of people trying to duplicate these sounds man…I just hope people have an open mind because it’s some next level shit, for real.

I saw in an interview CuDi talking about how he’s making music for people who listen to all types of music. How there is of course people who listen to just acoustic, or just pop, or just soul, or JUST hip hop. But that he makes music for people (like him, sidebar: like me) who listen to all different types of music. To the music that inspires. To the great music being made whatever its medium. This is exactly the artist I’ve been waiting for…which is really fucking exciting as it should be for you if you truly listen to and dig all kinds of music. WOrd Up.

Bellissimo lo speciale che All Music ha dedicato al fenomeno Twilight…un’ora durante la quale possiamo vedere e sentire il parere di alcuni dei milioni di fans accorsi da tutto il mondo per assistere alle riprese di “New Moon” a Montepulciano!

Questa Saga sta ottenendo un successo incredibile e inatteso, a partire dai libri fino ad arrivare ai film….bambine, adolescenti, ragazze e donne sono impazzite per la storia tra Bella, la fragile umana ed Edward, il vampiro buono!!! Questa storia fa sognare, fa piangere e fa sospirare il mondo…ma a sorpresa vediamo che non solo il sesso femminile è attratto da questo mondo….perchè anche molti ragazzi sono arrivati a Montepulciano.

Molto belli sono stati anche gli interventi da parte degli amministratori di alcuni tra i siti/blog italiani che seguono queste vicende, portandole in rete per tutti noi fans di questo fenomeno straordinario.

Stupende le canzoni e video che hanno accompagnato questo speciale, alcune facenti parte della colonna sonora del film Twilight mentre altre canzoni che la stessa autrice dei libri, Stephenie Meyer ha indacato come le canzoni più adatte ad accompagnare questa storia d’amore e passione. Infine molto carine anche l’intervista fatta alle controfigure di Robert e Kristen…che ci hanno raccontato qualche scena del backstage e qualche scena curiosa degli attori…ma soprattutto di quanto siano straordinari e bravi nell’interpretare i due protagonisti…infatti sicuramente loro hanno un merito molto grande nel successo della Saga.

Ma ora basta chiacchiere…vediamo direttamente i video….Buona Visione!!! Vi piaceranno da morire…io sono stata un’ora stregata davanti alla Tv!!!
