A Romanian student studying in Germany auctioned off her viginity for roughly $13,000.  Germany allows prostitution but charges a hefty tax rate of 50% on the working gals.   Officials are looking into the matter and will be sending her a rather large tax bill.

I would suggest that we just “Go for soda” but in New York, even THAT is being taxed:

The current state of the economy and the upcoming Presidential election makes it very clear what ails the United States.  It has caused a crisis of confidence in our government, our currency, our productivity, our educational system and those who call themselves “leaders”.

The almighty buck. 

Yes, not just the dollar that is dropping in purchasing power, but the “buck” that stopped at President Harry S. Truman’s desk.  The phrase refers to “passing the buck,” i.e., handing responsibility to someone else, and the fact that the president has to make the decisions and accept the ultimate responsibility for those decisions.

The buck, a marker or counter, was used to indicate the person whose turn it was to deal in the game of poker. If the player did not wish to deal he could pass the responsibility by passing the “buck”, as the counter came to be called, to the next player.

But that is not the only problem.  We have become accustomed to Presidents “passing the buck”, but we have done so as well. 

Who is ultimately responsible for educating our children?  Who is responsible for our retirement savings?  Who is ultimately responsible to insure our families against catastrophic health problems?

It used to be that the buck stopped with you and me as US Citizens.  Not anymore.

Now Uncle Sam (or Nanny Samantha) is taking on that role for us. 

Bank took on bad risks and is on the brink of failure?   Bail them out (with our money). 

Insurance company hit with undervalued mortgage assets?  Uncle Sam buys them out.

Congress doesn’t have enough money to pay for their “programs” (a.k.a. Vote buying plans)?  Print more and add to the debt.  Why charge people more in taxes and get tossed out of office?  Stay and make someone else pay!

Your kid goes berserk in class and disrupts everything?  Put him on Ritalin and have the government pay for it.

If you fail to show up for a hearing or for your wedding day use the best excuses from Jake Blues: “I ran out of gas! I got a flat tire! I didn’t have change for cab fare! I lost my tux at the cleaners! I locked my keys in the car! An old friend came in from out of town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts! IT WASN’T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!”

Your grassroots “get out the (Democrat) vote” organization hit with RICO charges relating to election fraud?  Blame McCain.

Watch television news and you will see and hear it.  What caused our economic problems?  Who is to blame?  Why are jobs going overseas? 

Take a look in the mirror.  Keep electing spineless creeps who tell you what you want to hear and you get the government you deserve.

Even Barney Frank now admits that perhaps not everybody can own their own home - perhaps they should rent.  “It would be nice if most people could own a home,” he added. “It would also be nice if I could eat more and not gain weight. But if I acted on that wish, I’d be in trouble.”  Welcome to the party Barney.  Wish you had discovered this reality before you helped to create the environment for the mortgage free-for-all years ago.

Our currency should not state “In God We Trust” anymore.  Now it should say, “It’s not our fault.”

The New New Deal is on the way.  Get ready for long-term malaise as the government helps you to decide everything from what to wear to what size home is “appropriate” for you.

Our addictions are now also “not our fault”. 

• Smoking?  Addicted by unscrupulous cigarette companies.
• Too fat?  Sue the fast food companies – it is their fault.
• Hooked on recreational drugs?  Not my fault – must be the temptation of the “forbidden” fruit.

Das ist mal wieder ein Eintrag der keinen Bedeutungswert hat. Ich schreibe nur um mich wachzuhalten, bzw. beschäftigt zu sein. Also nicht wundern wenn der post keinen Sinn macht. Was gibt es zu erzählen…

Das Leben ist ganz nett hier auf dem Mond. Manchmal fliegen seltsame Vögel vorbei, aber das ist ok. Leider ist es oft sehr windig und kalt, weswegen ich mir ernsthaft überlege nach Mexico umzusiedeln. Tacos und so, verstehste comprende? Aber dort ist es wohl wiederum zu heiss, ist ja auch nicht lustig bei trocken-heissen Klima Tacos und Burritos zu verschlingen. “verschlingen” wie ich dieses Wort..nein hasse ist zu schlimm ausgedrückt…wie ich dieses Wort nicht mag, obwohl es erinnert mich an meine Kindheit. Um genauer zu sein es erinnert mich an Pokemon, und zwar an Bisasam. Warum weiss ich auch nicht, vielleicht Sigmund Freud. Aber der ist tot und mit “aber” fängt man keine Sätze an. Was ist eigentlich aus dem Typ geworden der Steve Urkel gespielt hat? Der hatte auch in Dream Girls oder wie der hiess eine kleine Rolle. In dem seiner Haut möcht ich auch nicht stecken. Lieber in der des frischen Prinzen. There were a couple of guys, they were up to no good, started makin trouble in my neighbourhood, i got in one little fight and my mom got scared and she said: your moving with your uncle and auntie in bel-air! Das hab ich nie verstanden warum das “in bel-air” heisst und nicht “to bel-air”. ACHSO! Ja jetzt is es mir klar! Weils ja auch “moving in” heisst! Hab ich wieder mal was gelernt! (Auf Wiedersehn!). Das war gleich wie als ich damals mir mal Gedanken zu Crossing Jordan, irgend so eine US CSI-eske Sendung, gemacht habe. Ich hab den Namen der Sendung immer wieder gelesen und mir nichts dabei gedacht und dann! Plötzlich! ACH CROSSING JORDAN SO WIE ÜBER DEN JORDAN GEHN! ALLES KLAR!! Ja, was für eine spannende Geschichte die ich schon mal wem erzählte habe, ich weiss nicht mehr wem. Egal. So, ich gehe jetzt entweder Animu schauen (Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, Cromartie High School, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, etc etc.) oder schlafen.

I managed to get together with Colin after he finished work yesterday, and as it turns out, he wasn’t really that pissed at me; I don’t know why he had reacted like that in the first place. We talked it out, and everything’s fine now. My mother and I are also good, as we had a heart-to-heart later in the evening.

I met up with Katrina after Colin had caught his bus, and we hung out at her place for a bit, then went back to mine to watch ‘The Lives of Others,’ however, we got caught up watching America’s Next Top Model online until nearly 1 am. It was good times all around, and after she had gone home, I planned out all the stuff I need for Toronto. I’m STOKED.

You know what is balls, though? I have to work from 3 to 9 on Canada Day. What the shit is that? I mean, REALLY.
