Well, as the patch as finished (with a few issues — read below), we are brought info of all the new updates we’re getting for the Alliance Eternal! Quite honestly, as enthusiastic I’d LIKE to be, I’m really not all that surprised or moved by anything for the events. It’s kind of a repeating pattern in the types of events we get, which have been recurring for the whole Alliance series (somewhat..) I just want Justice to come for Phantom and so my Outlaw will finally get better…

That’s cute and all, but honestly, I’m going to take your time to rant for a little. I am honestly sick and tired of how players on MapleStory (even KMS players, and notice I’m not using ‘Nexon’ to complain) can’t savor certain items without them having to go away after 1-7 damn days. Really? What the hell are you going to lose if you just let us HAVE the freaking item. You can even keep it at untradeable; a lot of us would like to spend more time on MapleStory, and by letting us enjoy more, you’re doing us LESS of a favor by hoarding items by making them expireable. Those face accessories we get at events and other nick nacks are extremely cute, why take them away? I’m almost certain this correlates as a way to get us to buy more NX if we want facial accessories and the other neat things for our characters we have access to during EVENTS and that expire. Same goes for cash items..I’m not sure how it is in KMS, but GMS players only get the opportunity for permanent decorative items the first TWO WEEKS they are out. I remember how one summer (2010 I believe), GMS had this period of time where you can buy an item for double the NX but you can keep it permanently…now see, in the long run, that is so much worth it. I think that with the rising demand for Cubes, Scissors of Karma, Gachapon Tickets, Alien Cubes, and other crap, override in value to the the money made through NX from decorative items probably isn’t even that significant seeing that even I know many individuals that spend up to 60 dollars alone in cubes, Gachapon Tickets, etc. Note, that in comparison to MapleStory and based upon my own experiences, I played a similar and rather cute MMO known as LaTale. See, their decorative items are PERMANENT for the most part, and other items like pets, gamble-items, and more are expiring items yet they’re running just fine. However, I feel that I am being redundant in a different perspective because LaTale’s population IS smaller and their servers may differ a lot more from MapleStory’s and the cost of running it, but I’m really not sure quite honestly. Of course whatever I’m saying is obviously not going to make a difference and yeah it’s evident to say that this arguement has been brought up before, but I don’t care — I’m merely just letting out my thoughts with all honesty because I can. I still like Maple, but there will always be something not everyone is happy with. I’m fully aware of how snarly I’m being right now; and if I have to adjust my obnoxiousness, I will do so. If I have to get something out there, by all means I will do it, and so I have.

ANYWAY, moving on…

There were a couple of problems upon the new patch in regards to saved SP not being available on rebalanced characters and problems with progression in the new quest-line for the Lion King’s Castle. Here’s the official notice from the Maple Staff:

Dear Maplers,

Yesterday, we found that many rebalanced characters no longer had access to the amount of Skills Points they had before the v.109 update. Soon after the issue was reported, a fix was applied through an unscheduled maintenance.

While this fix worked for some players, others are still experiencing the issue. We will be investigating the cause of this issue throughout the weekend and will provide an update early next week. Please note that the issue may be resolved for some characters by completing the Awakening quest for your class and using the SP Reset Scroll obtained from it. The Awakening quest for your class can be accessed through the event notifier (star icon) on the left side of your game window.

We are also working on resolving the issues with the Lion King’s Castle quests, which prevent some characters from progressing. We will provide an update on this issue as well early next week.

Thank you very much for your patience and please bear with us while we get these fixed.

- The Maple Team -

I guess there might be hope for some younger characters to get that SP Reset Scroll. I guess you’ll all have to stay patient for a while.. o:

Peculiarly, the GMS Dev. Blog was actually updated by ‘Michael’ of the Maple Team with some hope pertaining to the summer updates! I will briefly show you the paragraph in particular hinting at many goodies as we get into the Summer, but not much is given away for the most part:

What’s Coming Up Next?

Summer is almost here, and we have so much in store for new and long-time MapleStory fans. Early May brings our Seventh Anniversary celebration. We’ll be providing details soon, but we can say that this is one anniversary party you won’t want to miss. Later in the same month will be a special treat for players who are long-time fans. We’ll have more information on this soon.

As we move into June, we’ll be ramping up towards our big summer content release. Not just one but two new characters will soon be joining the MapleStory cast. While you may have heard about the Phantom hero if you follow the news of Korean MapleStory, we’re also preparing a brand new hero that will be exclusive to Global MapleStory (what the FU- ..). I’ll be bringing you more news on our big summer updates in the near future.

Thank you again for your dedication, Maplers. We promise to provide you with an unmatched experience and lots of good times.

-Michael

The MapleStory Team

Um, YAY?! So not only are we getting the Justice update this summer BUT we are also getting a hero exclusive to GMS? I hope it’s not that Eric class that I am almost sure was an April Fools prank. Wow..neat, I am really hoping it’s something worthwhile and I guess they will bring us more news in the summer? Honestly, I really like the Justice update more than most of the updates we’ve BEEN getting. Vaguely, the revamp pirates and thieves are getting is just amazing and Phantom is a really fun looking class and thankfully it’s power is not overexaggerated on default. But that exclusive hero…hmm. I hightly doubt it’s that missing ‘L’ pirate hero in M-ercedes A-ran P-hantom L-??? E-van because it’s going to be exclusive to GMS, and I’m pretty sure KMS would get something like that before us, by a long shot. Additionally, I wouldn’t be surprised if the exclusive hero we get is going to be dumped into KMS..or any other version, really. But I am trying to be optimistic! Haha~

See ya later!

Resolved and Known Issues

9. Resolved Issues

The mislabeled hair and face styles have been reverted back to their original names.

The game no longer crashes when the player attempts to complete The Chase and the Conspiracy quest by turning in the Forbidden Book of Alchemy to Maed.

The game will no longer crash or disconnect you in these circumstances involving the socket and Nebulite system and Item Guards:

Attempting to add a socket to Item Guarded equipment

Attempting to add Nebulite to equipment that was socketed then Item Guarded

Attempting to use a Nebulite Diffuser on equipment that was socketed, had Nebulite applied, then was Item Guarded

10. Known Issues

D. Roy is missing from Lab – Area C-3.

Untraslated text appears in [Rescue the Miwok Boys] UI.

Certain players are asked to input their old PIN upon logging in, even though they have already set up their PIC.

Personally for me, I could honestly care a tad bit less for the Explorer revamp because in a broad sense it’s really not that big of a deal. However, the class I’ve always contemplated to make because of how boring I thought it would get is the Ice & Lightning Mage..but I think now I’m going to make one since ice is my favorite kind of power I guess. <3 n_n

For Cygnus Knights, I guess that’s cute and all, but seeing as their very frowned upon for the 120 cap, I don’t plan on playing on unless I want an Ultimate Adventurer which is also unlikely because I find them completely useless, personally.

Royal Hair & Eye styles can be previewed now? I’m loving this! Ugh, what a killer feature that I’ve wanted honestly, instead of loading BannedStory and lagging the whole world.. LOL.

I’m more fixated on the new quest lines and revisions to the Nett’s Pyramid PQ. I like to enjoy MORE content rather than focus too much on classes and their revisions quite honestly. Of course, that is, unless it has something to do with my important characters or most importantly, my main Aran because I hate remembering the past in how much I contemplated over what classes to play, so I stopped for the most part. But when Justice comes along with Phantom, I will be all over that…I just like the idea of that class in specific; kind of a rare situation for myself. Haha!

On a tiny side note, I hope you all prepare yourselves for the best update soon to come in my opinion, which is the Justice Update! I don’t know if GMS will call it that, but it’s a good name either way. I’m honestly loving how GMS distinguishes itself from KMS with custom names for their updates; it’s a good idea I guess.

DO NOT WORRY YE PIRATES AND THIEVES, YOUR UPDATE OF GODLINESS IS SOON TO COME! I feel your pain, I am dying for my Outlaw to reach a better extent honestly. Gogogogogo, Justice…=/

See ya!

Yeah, I didn’t see it coming either. Although I am a tad bit late on this update, a recent live stream on Twitch.TV session hosted by the staff of GMS, especially Hime who had confirmed this third and LAST part of the Alliance series will come our way THIS week. I personally predict it’s either tomorrow (April 11th) or Thursday, April 12th. Who knows though, it’s this week based on what Hime has told us!

Moving onward with what this update is coming with, here is what has been confirmed on the GMS site:

Explorers and Cygnus Knights have been enhanced with new powers: Warriors, Magicians, and Bowmen will be the first of the Explorers to enjoy their new strength, and a new high-level quest chain awaits the Cygnus Knights.

Ultimate Explorers have become stronger than ever with increased max health points, new exclusive skills, and an exclusive chain quest.

Nett’s Pyramid is renewed once again with rebalances to requirements and the monsters inside. Defend against waves of mummies, and get your hands on exclusive, new riches that will only be available for a limited time!

Lion King’s Castle, Maple World’s favorite hunting ground, gains a new overarching storyline and a new boss to defeat.

Events galore! Rescue the Miwoks from savage monsters. Celebrate the coming of spring by helping research flowers to receive great buffs. Receive a special pendant to increase the EXP you gain.

You can check out a PREVIEW of the new content tested by the staff members themselves through a video of the full live stream below:

NOTE: I will personally add to this or condense all information for this update into one post. There will be a notification posted for that if done soon.

Other than the Alliance Eternal update, from April 4th to April 18th, Royal Hair Coupons and Royal Eye Coupons have returned with a new stylish twist! I personally like this mini update.

Here’s what we’ve got:

Pouty Face (as shown w/ Glamour Hair) — This face is simply adorable! <3

(I love this face. It’s just really dynamic but fun at the same time. n_n)

Aside from styles, I hope you all remember that the Justice update content is in the GMS game data (as of Alliance Unbound…somewhat..) which MAY mean that the Justice Update is very near to come! I predict it either comes late May or early June! Just a thought~

See you later!
