Ever since children have been around so have toys. Toys spark the imagination, allow children to learn new things and give them the freedom to explore their individuality.

Thousands of new toys are developed every year to excite the masses and old favorites are continually re-invented for the new generation.

One thing that has never changed though when it comes to kids and playtime is the desire to mimic what Mom or Dad might be doing. Children love to do the same things they see adults doing and this is reflected in the design of toys and their popularity.

In the past it was the toy toolbox or the doctors kit that captured the young ones attention. What child didn’t love to pretend they were saving lives or building forts? Even today these items are reliable sellers for toy manufacturers.

Now in the 21st Century we have baby computers and tiny, toddler cell phones to keep our tots amused and excited about the world around them.

Controversy Strikes

Since these new techno toys have appeared on the market there has been a backlash in the media from some parents and teachers. They believe toy cell phones promote consumerism and make children act too adult. There is a definite notion out there that by letting your child play with a toy cell phone you are encouraging adult behavior and somehow ruining your child’s innocent play.

But when have children not wanted to act like adults?

In the past we have bought them toy cars, baby dolls that need diaper changes and regular feeding, easy bake ovens, tractors, police badges and nurses uniforms. How are toy cell phones any different? In fact children have had toy phones to play with almost since they were invented. Most adults can remember playing with one as a young child.

The telephone has always held a special fascination for children because of its ability to communicate with others. This desire to communicate with the outside world is a healthy and natural drive that almost all humans have. We like to talk to each other even if it’s in our imagination as children.

Toy cell phones are just the natural toy progression for the new millennium.

Dora The Explorer

One of the most popular children’s cell phones this season is the Dora The Explorer toy cell phone. Based on the Nickelodeon television show of the same name it is a definite favorite.

Dora is a cartoon heroine who sets out on adventures with her friends and by using her trusty map finds what she is looking for and helps people along the way. She also teaches children Spanish and this bilingual aspect is built into the Dora The Explorer cell phone. Other cool features are the ability to program your child’s name into the phone so Dora can ask them personally for help on her missions.

The phones can be bought separately or as part of a book package or game.

Dora is a good role model for children to emulate, as she inspires kids to explore the world around them, both culturally and geographically. This is but one reason why the Dora The Explorer cell phone is a fun toy for children.

Toys In The New Millennia

Toys are constantly changing as the world around us changes. When new technologies come along they inevitably find their way into a brightly colored toy format.

This is because toys are not just fun but a way for children to understand the social environment that they live in.

Most kids just want to play grown-up.

AllStar Weekend was just one of the few artist who had a chance to rock at the Citadel Outlets on Monday Dec 14. They performed many of their songs from their EP, they even got into the holiday spirit, by singing a Christmas song! Hope you guys enjoy the videos!

He came out and performed after security and personnel spent over a half hour trying to calm the fans down and reduce pushing towards the stage. The concert was even threatened to be shut down. Although Chuck Taylor’s All Stars have made a HUGE comeback. I think it would easy to stand out in these. I mean everyone is wearing the samethigs these days and say that they are being different. “I got those new Jordans yo.” Stop it. There there are two ways to be different. 1) Find a style that is completely your own from a brand no one has heard of. And 2) Take what everyone else is wearing and get a version no one else has. This is the latter. They are simple shoes thay resemble All Stars but are completely different at the same time.

Alla ni FEM som sökt  på “pimp my husvagn” och hamnat här måste ha blivit besvikna att mötas av en ägare till en Solifer 540 från  -87. Roligare än så var det inte. Här har du pärlan och den är onekligen opimpad.

Du som är sugen på Silltårta med polarbröd lär dock bli glad! För här kommer receptet på världens godaste smörgåstårta. Egentligen den enda smörgåstårta som är god.

I helgen var jag och gubben i Luleå och vältrade oss i lite lyx. Jag gillar Luleå mer och mer för varje gång jag är där. Jag hittar små goa krypin och blir alltid glatt överraskad.  Vi åt en jättegod sushi på Thai Thai & Sushicorner. Såg Magnus Betner på Kulturens hus i fredags. Trots att han var krasslig så var han himla rolig. Han pratade på i nästan två timmar och tiden gick hur snabbt som helst. Han uppträdde på Kulturens hus. Ett sådant skulle vi ha i Skellefteå, vilka lokaler! Och mitt i stan!

Vi bodde på Elite stadshotell och käkade oxfilé på Tallkotten i lördags. Maten var den godaste jag ätit ute på länge! Trots  att hemsidan är 1-stjärnig så var maten 5-stjärnig. Vi hann med lite shopping också. Jag kom hem med ett gäng nya tröjor, en fin-fin handväska och ett nytt halsband från Snö. Vi hann utforska ölkulturen också. Två riktigt sjyssta ställen är Allstars och The Bishops arms så har över 200 whiskeysorter och ett gäng spännande öl på fat. Det går inte bara ställa sig i baren där och beställa en “stor stark” eller en “6a whiskey”. Vi hann också nyttja bastun på hotellet då den fanns i samma korridor som vi bodde i. Perfekt. Hotellfrukosten var också kanongod. Det fanns det mesta, om än jag ståndaktigt höll mig från att äta plättar med sylt och grädde och muffins. Vår weekend gick alldeles för snabbt och jag längtar redan till att göra om det igen. Nästa gång är det Umeås nöjesliv som ska testas.

Federasyomuzdan  gelen  bildirime     göre  2010 dan  itibaren  yeni  flöre  maskeleri  kullanılmaya  başlanacak. Böylece  maskenin  sakal  kısmının  bir  bölümüde    hedef  alanı içerisine  eklenmiş oldu.

“Uluslararası Eskrim Federasyonu FIE tarafından; “Flöre branşında, maskenin sakal kısmı geçerli bölge olarak kabul edilmiş olup bu bölgeye yapılan temaslardan puan alınabilecektir”. şeklinde değişiklik yapılmıştır. Bu sebeple 01.01.2010 tarihinden itibaren, değiştirilen kural Federasyonumuzun müsabakalarında da uygulanacaktır.

Bildiğiniz üzere zamanla flöre branşımız değişmeye başladı. İlk değişimlerden biri tuşun basılı kalma zamanı ile alakalı idi.Tuş almak için gerekli olan puanterenin kapalı kalma zamanı uzatılarak yapılan bu değişim flöre müsabakalarında hem teknik hem de hız yönünden değişimleri beraberinde getirmişti. Ufak bir açıklama yapmak gerekirse esnetme/silkme adını verdiğimiz teknik ile tuş almak çok zor hale geldi. Hatta yeni arkadaşlarım artık bu şekilde alınan sayıları görmez oldular. Buna ek olarak kontra atak ve vücut eskizleri ile alınan sayıları daha çok görür olduk.Flöre sanki biraz daha yavaşladı.
Son yapılan değişim ise geçerli tuş bölgesi ile alakalı. http://www.pbtfencing.com/images/newfoilmaskweblap.pdf adresinde de görebileceğiniz üzere maskelin sakalında belli bir bölge daha hedefe ekleniyor. Uzun vadede bu değişimin neler getireceğini tam oarak şu anda söylemek zor olsada ben daha da yavaş oynanacak flöre müsabakaları bekliyorum. Geçerli hedef bölgesinin büyümesiyle flöreciler için sıklıkla kullanılan paratların sayısı da artacaktır.
Eskrime böyle bir değişimin neler katacağını ilerleye günler gösterecek ama benim düşüncem bu işten en kazançlı çıkanlar malzeme satıcıları olacaktır zira sporumuza popülerlik açısından bir şey kazandıracağını düşünmüyorum.

They are now officially Allstar Weekend.

Just six days after Selena Gomez & The Scene stole the show at the House of Blues in San Diego, they took the stage once more, in preparation for their 2010 tour, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA earlier this evening. Hollywood Record’s all boy band, All Star opened for the show.

hmm we like what we hear. Do you guys think Selena and her band are ready to take on a nationwide tour for the upcoming year?
