I was hoping to post a review of Les Miserables, the movie, for you today. My bestie and I went to

I was hoping to post a review of Les Miserables, the movie, for you today. My bestie and I went to great lengths to arrange a night out. My husband has no desire to see an opera and my daughter is two, so Sunday night AMC gift cards in hand, we found ourselves entering the 8:30 pm showing.

We sat through a half dozen awesome previews. My nerdy self cannot wait to see the new Star Trek, the next Die Hard, Gatsby, and an Oz movie featuring James Franco. Then we settled in for our ‘feature presentation.’

Not long into the movie… we had just met Fantine and zoomed in on Hugh’s now clean-cut image… and sirens started up, the movie cut out, and we were informed by a voice over the intercom to leave the theatre.

If there had been a fire or actual emergency, I wouldn’t have been so annoyed. But there was nothing, someone had just pulled the fire alarm.

If there had been a fire or actual emergency, we would all be dead because the mass mob of people were just staring at each other waiting for instructions and the officer just stared back.

If this was the first time this had happened at that theatre, I wouldn’t have been that bothered, but my bestie had the exact same thing happen to her just a few days ago on Christmas day.

AMC 24, Deerbrook Mall, Humble, TX: Get your crap together. Clearly there is a problem. Fix it already, please, I really want to see this movie!

Go ahead, if you’ve seen the movie already, leave me a comment and brag about how awesome it was…

So I’ve been in Florida for the past few days and one of my favorite places to go to while I

So I’ve been in Florida for the past few days and one of my favorite places to go to while I’m here is Downtown Disney. It’s a great place to go if your just getting away from the parks or want to enjoy a nice shopping trip or dinner. Below are my favorite things to do in Downtown Disney with some tips included!

10. Themed Restaurants: You can pretty much find every style of food you’re looking for in Downtown Disney. From sandwiches, seafood, Irish, Cuban to the dinosaur themed T-Rex, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

9. LEGO Imagination Center: Even if you’re not a big LEGO fan, stop by and check out the amazing creations that have been made with these little building blocks.

8. House of Blues: Great place to check out a concert, dine and even dance on some nights!

7. AMC 24: AMC 24 now features a dine-in option, bar and lounge, new concession items and other film enhancing technologies. AMC 24 serves as a great place for a movie night, especially on a rainy day. Tickets are $6-$12.

6. Characters in Flight: Ever see a huge hot air balloon in the Downtown Disney area? Guest can experience the hot air balloon for $12-$18 . This experience gives guests a 360 view of the Disney World property. Great for any Disney fan to see!

5. Disney Quest: Now I worked here so this may be biased, but Disney Quest is great for anyone who has ever loved or loves arcade games and more. If you go to Chuck E. Cheese or any other arcade area, you always spend tons of money on tokens for maybe an hour or so. Admission is $37-$43, but once you get in there all the games and virtual reality attractions are free for as long as you want.

4. Cirque du Soleil: Yes, Cirque du Soleil is expensive( $60-$133), but it is also unlike anything else I’ve ever seen in my life. The acrobatics are crazy good and the whole show is artsy, creative and innovative. It’s truly amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who would be interested.

3. Ghirardelli: Simply delicious chocolates on one side and decadent desserts on the other. You can pick up a free sample of chocolate on the chocolate packaging side. Yum!

2. Earl of Sandwich: My favorite place to eat in Downtown Disney. It’s cheap and high quality food equal perfection to me.

1. Unique Shopping: You can really find anything Disney related here (with exception to country specific merch from Epcot and attraction specific merch from any of the parks). So if you’re not going to the parks or don’t want to carry merchandise around on your theme park days, Downtown Disney is the place to go. It has stores related to sports/ESPN, teens, art, holidays, toys and more. Don’t miss the World of Disney store; it’s the ultimate store for everything Disney and can get busy too.

Also, be on the lookout for change in Downtown Disney in the future. The current location of RIDEMAKERZ is now in Team Mickey. In place of RIDEMAKERZ by Disney Quest and AMC 24 will be Splitsville, a more upscale and luxury bowling approach with dining, music and dancing.
