Aí está o score do meu computador novo no Windows 7.
Nota máxima é 7,9 e o Phenom X4 955 tirou 7,4, nada mal.
PS, no momento do teste ele estava a 3,2Ghz.

Ήρθε η ώρα να περάσω σε τετραπύρηνη πλατφόρμα και συγκεκριμένα σε AMD Phenom II με κύριο γνώμονα όμως το πλήρες σύστημα να μην ξεπερνάει τα 1.000€

Το σύστημα μου χοντρικά είναι το εξής:

Πάμε τώρα στα κουλά.

Το σύστημα πραγματικά αντιδρά σφαίρα σε περιβάλλον ΧΡ και ακόμη πιο εντυπωσιακά σε 7 όπου οι 4 πυρήνες πραγματικά δίνουν ρέστα. Αποφάσισα λοιπόν να τεστάρω το σύστημα όπως ήταν με την χρήση του Prime95 που τσίτωσε και τους 4 πυρήνες. Εκτός του ότι στα 10 λεπτά έβγαζε σφάλματα παρατήρησα ότι οι θερμοκρασίες ήταν στο Θεό! 48C σε idle και 71C σε full load. H ψήκτρα της Thermaltake SpinQ θεωρείται αρκετά καλή οπότε το πρόβλημα ήταν δύσκολο. Φυσικά έλεγξα και την πάστα και το πάτημα της ψήκτρας και ήταν οκ. Μετά από googlισμα ανακάλυψα ότι λόγω του μεγάλου TDP των Phenom II BE οι υψηλές θερμοκρασίες είναι κάτι αναμενόμενο αλλά όχι σε τέτοιο βαθμό και μάλιστα χωρίς o/c.

Τη λύση μου την έδωσε το cpuz. Παρατήρησα ότι η τάση του cpu αναγνωριζόταν ως 1.475V και όχι ως 1.35V που είναι το σωστό για έναν Phenom II! Πηγαίνοντας στο bios στο vcore είδα με έκπληξη ότι η ρύθμιση έλεγε Normal 1.35V! Αλλάζοντας εκεί τη ρύθμιση σε Normal + 0.25V έκανα επανεκκίνηση. Το cpuz έδινε πλέον 1.375V και όλα τα tests περνούσαν κανονικά και οι θερμοκρασίες παρέμειναν υψηλές αλλά λογικές για καλοκαίρι. Συμπέρασμα, το motherboard αν και έχει το τελευταίο bios (F3) τα κάνει θάλασσα στο default vcore.

Πάμε τώρα στο Cool ‘n’ Quiet. Για να παίξει σε ΧΡ χρειάζονται οδηγοί που συνήθως βρίσκονται στο cd της μητρικής και ορισμός στο επιλογές ενέργειας αντί για desktop σε notebook. Για Vista και 7 δεν απαιτείται driver. Επίσης, πρέπει στο bios να είναι Enabled το Cool ‘n’ Quiet, ο πολλαπλασιαστής της CPU στο auto και να μην έχετε εγκαταστήσει το AMD Overdrive!

Γενικά συμπεράσματα από το περασμά μου από Intel Conroe σε Phenom II. Ο AMD δίνει ένα γρήγορο σύστημα με την εκκίνηση ενώ ο Conroe έπρεπε να γεμίσει τις cache του για να πάρει μπροστά. Μετά το πρώτο λεπτό ουσιαστικά δεν είδα καμιά τρελή διαφορά με τον AMD ίσως να γουστάρει πιο πολύ τον Firefox αλλά να αργεί στα rar και τον Conroe να είναι λίγο πιο στιβαρός σε εργασίες όπως συμπίεση ταινίας. Βέβαια σε όλα αυτά πρέπει να προσθέσουμε ότι τα γερασμένα ΧΡ δεν εκμεταλλεύονται όπως πρέπει τον Phenom και από ότι κατάλαβα σε ΧΡ ότι επεξεργαστή και να βάλεις πλέον θα σε φρενάρει το λειτουργικό.

Σε 7 τώρα , εδώ και 3-4 μέρες που τα έβαλα με dual boot ο Phenom δίνει ένα σβέλτο σύστημα χωρίς καθυστερήσεις και είναι πραγματικά μια απόλαυση στην Full HD οθονίτσα μου.

A AMD anunciou oficialmente, como parte de sua plataforma Dragon dois processadores para desktop de 45 nm Phenom II X4 para socket AM2+. A arma principal da plataforma Dragon para enfrentar o Core i7 deve ser uma melhor relação custo-desempenho. Um conjunto formado por um processador Phenom II X4, placa de video Radeon HD 4870 1 GB, placa-mãe com chipset AMD 790GX e 2 × 2 GB de memória DDR2-1066 fica em torno de US$ 900. Já um kit com processador Core i7 965 Extreme Edition, placa-mãe baseada no chipset Intel X58, placa gráfica de mesmo nivel e 3 × 1 GB de memória DDR3-1333 não custará menos de US$ 2.100, segundo a AMD.

Com os drivers Catalyst 8.12, as placas de video da AMD/ATI aceleram o trabalho em diferentes programas e o utilitário ATI Video Converter ajuda os proprietários de aparelhos móveis a converter videos rapidamente e assisti-los. Uma coisa bem interessante nos novos Phenom II é o aumento da freqüência nominal comparando com os seus “irmãos” da geração anterior, além de ser melhor em overclock.

Como foi prometido, os Phenom II 940 Black Edition (3 GHz) e Phenom II X4 920 (2,8 GHz) custam US$ 275 e US$ 235 . Ambos tem 4 núcleos com 4 × 512 KB de cache L2 e 6 MB de cache L3 compartilhado, TDP de 125 W e design do socket AM2+. A freqüência do HyperTransport 3.0 é 3.600 MHz e o controlador de memória integrado suporta DDR2-1066 em “dual-channel”. Os modelos para socket AM3 com suporte a memórias DDR3 devem ser lançados em fevereiro deste ano, mas o modelo de 3 GHz somente após abril.

Alguns reviewers conseguiram fazer overclock os processadores Phenom II X4 de  3,5 a 3,8 GHz com uso de cooler a ar e um aumento da tensão nominal. Com nitrogênio líquido, eles chegam a freqüências maiores que 6 GHz.

O aumento de velocidade dos Phenom II X4 em relação aos antecessores pode chegar a 20%. Isso foi suficiente para competir com alguns processadores Core 2 Quad, mas não chegam ao nível do Core i7. Porém, esse atraso é compensado por um custo de plataforma mais atraente, o qual nas atuais condições é ainda mais importante.

Todo este hardrware tiene un valor inferior a los 4000 euros (cualquier geek lo puede comprar), pero si te decides armar este Hardware, tenlo por seguro que entrarás en éxtasis total si te pones a jugar en el cosas como Gears of Wars o Unreal Tournament 3 (es más, creerás que la vida ahí es la vida real).

AMD Game! Comes Out of the Box
With its eyes on 263 million mainstream PC gamers worldwide, chip maker AMD has unveiled AMD Game! – an initiative to help users select right PCs for high-definition gaming. AMD Game! platforms, according to the company, leverage multi-core processors, HD digital media, and graphics processing power.

AMD informs that companies like Acer, Alienware, Logitech, and Microsoft are joining it in this program.

AMD Game! systems use AMD technology including AMD Phenom processors, the upcoming AMD Turion Ultra processors, AMD Athlon processors, ATI Radeon HD 3000 series graphics, and AMD chipsets.

The gaming platforms are available online from system builders such as Alienware, Cyberpower, iBuypower, Maingear and Velocity Micro. However, retail availability is expected in the second half of 2008.
