'Star Wars - Medstar I: Battle Surgeons, A Clone Wars Novel' - Chapter 20 (Part 3)

Well, it was Sunday and the last day of vacation. There isn’t too much I can talk about, but I’ll give you a little bit of an idea of what happend to my family today. We got up early at six-thirty and took showers and got ourselves ready for the day. We were spending the day at my in-laws which I’m not allowed to talk about too much. We got on the road, and while we listened to some Christmas music, and I wrote some of my entries for my blog to catch up before the end of vacation. We went right to church and met up with the family there. We had a nice church service and then went to their house. We visited with family and had a nice dinner with lasagna. We then played around a little bit and someone shot a deer while hunting. We had a drumset donated to my family that I’m going to learn to play for church service to add to the praise and worship team. We got done loading up the car and drove home. We got home and the kids went right to bed while Heather and I watched our usual TV shows tonight including “Amazing Race”, “Family Guy”, “American Dad”, “The Simpsons”, and “The Cleveland Show” and then went to bed.

Okay, let’s talk about Part 3 of Chapter 20 of “Star Wars – Medstar I: Battle Surgeons, A Clone Wars Novel” by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry……Chapter 20 (Part 3): I-Five ws next to raise and Den couldn’t help but notice what a calm player this droid was even though he didn’t have the computing power to keep track of all the cards and all the hands. The droid raised three and Jos swore he saw the robot sweat a little. I-Five said he must be leaking fluid, but that he could smell fear pheromone coming from Vondar. Den asked I-Five how he learned to play and the droid said that Pavan had taught him and he was one of the best. Jos asked if he considered himself human and I-Five said only when he’s depressed. But he went on to explain that his cognitive modifications and lack of creative damper have made him more living than other droids. I-Five went on to explain that he has been all over the galaxy and has met many individuals and even with memory gaps, he can recall them all. Den reminded Jos it was his turn and the surgeon called. Den showed a twenty-three, but Jos put down Pure sabacc and Tolk said it was a nice play. As he picked up his credits, Den had the feeling that the surgeon didn’t care about winning.

Seth MacFarlane: el "Padre" de Familia

Descendiente de una familia escocesa, Seth MacFarlane es el creador del mundo representado en Padre de Familia.

Nació en Connecticut (EEUU) en 1973, y tras graduarse en el instituto, estudió en la Escuela de Diseño de Rhode Island, etapa en la que creó su primera animación. Tras empezar con proyectos como Johnny Bravo, pero fue una secuela de su serie La Vida de Larry la que le condujo a firmar un contrato con la Fox, y que le permitió dar cabida a Padre de Familia.

Dibujante, guionista, productor, director y doblador de voces, un personaje completo que se ha labrado su carrera en el mundo de la televisión y el cine. Como doblador de voces, interpreta a personajes de su serie como Peter, Brian, Stewei, Quagmire o el periodista Tom Tucker, además de variados personajes que pasan por Quahog.

Tras el éxito que le ha supuesto ser el autor de Padre de Familia, Seth MacFarlane ha trabajado en la elaboración de otros proyectos, como American Dad, Clevlan Show, además de aparecer como artista invitado en numerosas series (Las chicas Gilmore, Bones…)

Seth MacFarlane vive conjuntamente su profesión como creador de dibujos y de humorista y su afición a la bebida, que como el mismo bromea, le salvo la vida, pues debería de haber cogido uno de los aviones siniestrados en el 11-S, pero cuenta que la resaca del día anterior consiguió hacerle llegar tarde al aeropuerto. Este afán por el alcohol se ve representado en el personaje de Padre de Familia, Brian, que comparte su forma de pensar y su forma de ser.

LA PROGRAMACION FOX DE ENERO DEL 2010

Aunque la cadena esta disfrutando de una de las mejores temporadas de su historia, como sucede todos los años, Fox realiza grandes cambios en la segunda parte de la temporada, por lo que tenemos la programación de Fox para los próximos meses.

Sin dudas las novedades más importantes para los primeros meses del 2010 son los regresos de 24 y American Idol, dos de los programas más importantes de la televisión y en los que la cadena se ha apoyado en los últimos tiempos.

Junto a estos regresos, los próximos meses servirán para presentar algunas nuevas series de la cadena, incluyendo la serie de acción Human Target, la serie de investigación Past Life y la comedia Sons of Tucson.

Como pueden ver, la programación presentará una gran cantidad de programas nuevos, lo que significa la partida temporada de algunos actuales, como sucederá con Glee y Fringe, que regresarán con nuevos episodios en abril.

Es claro que la cadena esta determinada a quedarse con el año, por lo que ha decidido repetir uno de los mejores combos de la televisión en la noche de los lunes, situando a House junto a 24.

Además utilizará el poder de American Idol para asegurar el éxito de varias series, incluyendo a Glee y Human Target.

Finalmente tenemos que destacar que Lie To Me no se encuentra en la programación pero seguramente regresará con episodios nuevos en abril o mayo.

Adam Lambert, J Lo levando um tombo… a transmissão da ABC do American Music Awards foi recheada de acontecimentos. A premiação atraiu 14.2 milhões de telespectadores e fez ótimos 5.5 pontos na demo qualificada 18-49. Essa é a maior audiência da premiação desde 2002 e a melhor demo desde 2004. Por mais menosprezado que seja, o AMA’s foi a terceira premiação mais assistida do ano, perdendo apenas para o Oscar e para o Grammy.

Mesmo com tudo isso, quem venceu a noite foi a… NBC. Pois é. A emissora exibiu seu tradicional Sunday Night Football. O jogo Philadelphia Eagles Vs. Chicago Bears atraiu 15.1 milhões de telespectadores e excelentes 5.6 pontos na demo qualificada.

A CBS invertou a ordem de exibição de ‘Cold Case’ e ‘Three Rivers’ esperando por audiências melhores, mas as coisas não mudaram tanto assim. ‘Cold Case’ (9.2 milhões e 2.o pontos) caiu um pouco em relação a semana passada e ‘Three Rivers’ (7.7 milhões e 1.6 ponto) teve a pior audiência de sua história. A emissora ainda exibiu ‘60 Minutes’ (15.7 milhões e 3.4 pontos) e ‘Amazing Race’ (11.8 milhões e 3.5 pontos).

Já o bloco animado da Fox esteve todo em queda*: ‘The Simpsons’ (7 milhões e 3.3 pontos), ‘Cleveland Show’ (6.5 milhões e 3.3 pontos), ‘Family Guy’ (7.4 milhões e 3.8 pontos) e ‘American Dad’ (5.5 milhões e 2.8 pontos).

We just saw the American Dad “My Morning Jacket” episode. They did a great job of imitating Indy in his Aquarius obsession over music…. The AD producer was more than addicted to the music of MMJ and JJ when he discovered the band and wanted to channel this into an episode … to find a way to express this through the cartoon. We think he captured the fan/music obsession we experience here at YATM… at least in part!

In the category of “What the?”, comes the recap of last night’s episode of Fox’s “American Dad!”.

I have to admit that I know virtually nothing about this show other than its inclusion in the Seth MacFarlane portfolio, but Episode 7 of Season 5 begs to be watched.

The episode, titled “My Morning Straightjacket”, has a bizarre storyline centered around the great Louisville band My Morning Jacket.

I won’t even try to provide a recap, but both Spin and MTV have the scoop on this must-see concoction of inspired tribute to a band not necessarily accustomed to primetime exposure.

MMJ fans, at the very least, should appreciate the opportunity to experience the band in any form during its current hiatus.

And everyone else can watch to figure out why Jim James just might be the sun.

You probably have tried a wheat beer before but were not aware of it as one. Most beer drinkers are so attuned to brands that they forgot to inquire what beer style it was or could not care less. Blame it to the power of marketing and advertising.

Most wheat beers are brewed with an abundant amount of wheat and some with quite a large amount of malted barley. However, the variety of beer styles that falls under the wheat beer category are plenty like the ever popular stout beers.

Let us take a list of the well-known wheat beer and see if you have been able to drink a bottle or two.

The most popular original of this beer style would be the Hefeweizen. It was the exception to the German’s purity law or the Reinheitsgebot which does not allow German brewers to use wheat as an ingredient in making beer. The noble wants it and so the government made the exemption. It is pale, heavy and cloudy.

American brewers has their own version of a wheat beer. It originated from the Hefeweizen recipe but without the yeasts making it more cleaner and subtler. Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in a construction zone near Watsonville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a teenage motorist driving a Honda failed to slow down at a construction zone. The 17-year-old motorist lost control of his car, and the vehicle slid sideways. The passenger side of the Honda struck anther Honda Civic, pushing it into a third Honda. The driver of the Civic and his mother sustained injuries. The teen motorist in the first car was also injured. Apparently, construction was going on at a Caltrans work zone when the accident occurred.

There is a reason why highway construction accidents are more dangerous than other freeway accidents. A construction work zone is typically crowded and busy. There are several construction workers around, and part of the highway is cordoned off. The risk of an accident increases when you near a zone, and that’s why speed limits in construction zones are lower than in the rest of the highway. In fact, construction workers who already have the highest fatality rates in the American workplace, find that their risk of being involved in serious accidents increases when they are working on a highway construction zone.

The California Department of Transportation encourages motorists to follow these tips when they are driving through a construction zone.

* Follow the posted speed limits. Avoid speeding in a construction zone

* Drive carefully, and stay alert at all times

* Look for construction workers at the scene.

* Don’t use your cell phones while driving in a construction zone.

* Turn your head lights on, so that construction workers as well as other motorists can see your car.

* Drive especially carefully through a zone, if construction is going on at night.

* Prepare for delays while traveling through a construction zone. There will possibly be a traffic jam and several minutes lost from your commute, so be prepared for delays, and avoid a negative attitude.

* Avoid tailgating the vehicle in front of you.

* Don’t change lanes suddenly and unexpectedly.

Above all, be patient while traveling through.

A few months ago, a survey conducted by the Louisiana State University found that nighttime construction work may be just as dangerous as construction activity in the day time. Very often, state transportation agencies and construction companies prefer to conduct construction work during the night when there is lesser traffic. However, the study found that motorists, who may not expect to suddenly see the bright lights of a construction zone at night, may be at danger for collisions, placing themselves and construction workers at risk. Besides, motorists are more likely to be tired or drowsy in the nighttime, which increases the chances of an accident. Further, motorists who have been driving on a long and empty highway at night, may find it hard to slow down the vehicle when they suddenly come across a construction zone.

My Morning Jacket Gets Animated

The show American Dad on Fox is not one that I typically catch, but upon hearing that My Morning Jacket was going to be featured in an episode I was full of questions. How could a show that sucks so bad, feature so much rock? Could MMJ bring rocking to a show that I have never once had the inclination to watch an entire episode? Is rocking out really getting er done? So I decided that after the episode aired I would seek it out online and see just how rocking and getting er done could be incorporated into crappy television.

Much to my surprise the episode storyline is completely centered around the music of My Morning Jacket. The main character of the show, Stan, a normally straight edged CIA agent becomes enamored with the music of MMJ and drops everything to follow the band around the country. Throughout the episode fans are treated to many different clips of MMJ music both old and new. Yim Yames and the rest of the MMJ crew are all even given small speaking roles. Even in cartoon form, Jim James could totally get it

I never watch American Dad. It’s probably boorish enough for my tastes but has totally failed to capture my attention every time I try to watch. Nonetheless, after a hilarious episode of Family Guy (in which it’s revealed that Quagmire secretly hates Brian) we let Am-Dad roll. It was only halfway through the show that I broke free from my stoner reverie only to see television imitating life–a psychedelic scene (see above image) with “Dad” tripping out to My Morning Jacket’s lo-fi banger “Touch Me, I’m Going To Scream (Part 2)”.

The premise was simple: Stan picks up his daughter from an MMJ concert and falls in love with Jim James’ angelic voice. He spends the rest of the episode (which was filled with song clips and nerd-calibre references to the band) obsessively trying to meet James. It was basically the best episode of American Dad ever. Any non-My Morning Jacket fans see it? Thoroughly confused? Now equally as obsessed with Jim James as myself and Stan? Want a link to a clip? JUMP!

Oprah Winfrey sembra avere molti progetti in preparazione per il futuro. La sua casa di produzione Harpo Productions (Il colore viola, Beloved, The Oprah Winfrey Show) ha siglato un accordo con la HBO per produrre una nuova serie che si preannuncia molto piccante. Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! (in my best trucker’s voice). I got up this morning REALLY late again. We slept in until about ten o’clock again and I have to say that it was nice to be able to sleep in late again. I know I shouldn’t say it too loud as it may jynx me, but a free weekend every now and again is a nice change of pace from my busy, busy weekends. I got up and casually started to work on some things in the basement. Mainly, I worked on pulling some more glue out of my Mando bucket and then glueing in the fans again and making sure they still work. I still believe that by removing the excess glue in the bucket, I will at least gain a half an inch in the helmet which will keep my nose from pressing up against the helmet. I hate to say it, but I need a new bucket!

I got done working on the helmet and then decided to finish out student videos and then worked on transferring information off of my laptop and onto external hard drives. Every once in a while I need to purge information that is on my computers because I just download and download and never really take the time to purge and organize. I did that right up until it was time for football games on T.V. I started to watch the Buffalo game on CBS, but it was just getting ugly. In all honestly, Buffalo may need to just throw a grenade into the locker room and start over. But hey, they’re doing better than the Rams. 1-8?!! How does any team willfully have a 1-8 season at this point? It’s pretty bleak for the Rams. They may just want to move back to L.A. After watching some of the games, I moved back to working on my clone trooper helmet and started sanding and sanding. What a task that is going to be! Besides, as I was sanding, I realized that I’m going to have to do about two to three coats of Bond-O just to make it work. Why am I doing a clone again?!

I then decided to play “Call of Duty 4″ online on the PS3 again until it was time for dinner. We had a nice dinner and then I went back downstairs and played more “Call of Duty 4″ until Fox came on at eight o’clock and then I watched “The Simpsons”, “The Cleveland Show”, “Family Guy”, “American Dad”, and “Amazing Race” on tape. Heather and I then went to bed.Chapter 18 (Part 3): He wondered if Zan had volunteered adn he would then respect the Zabrack even more. Zan asked Den about his crusade for truth. Dhur said it was going well and was about to get better as he has a hot lead on a story. Den said he thought it would rattle some cages. Zan then asked him why he was here on Drongar and what calls him to this line of work. That question took him back and he realized he had not been asked in years. He could’ve given a stock answer about adventure, but then said that war helps to make the big stories. Wars help to pull the humanity out of any deep tragedy. He went on to say that politicians can and will spin lies because they have the time with little to no pressure. But a commander under fire will tell it like he sees it without concern for consequences. War strips away the lies and gives the public the ugly truth. Zan mentioned that he’s seen so much death and that he could be killed himself, but Den said that when he sees Rojo Fever he sees bodies. But when your time is up, you will die. They both chuckled and continued eating till Den began a story. He was sent to cover an insurrection in the middle of the Gordian Reach…..
