Granada has to be one of my favorite cities in Spain. The mixture of Catholic, Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures that have ruled it over the past 1500 years give it one of the most diverse mixtures of architecture within a single city.
Travel in the city is easy, you seem to be able to get anywhere for one euro. It is under an hour from the Mediterrean coast, the Costa Tropical. The Alhambra palace, a Moorish citadel , is at the heart of Granada Town on the river Darro.

It is one of the most famous items of the Islamic historical legacy that makes Granada a hot spot among cultural and tourist cities in Spain.
The city is a the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains with peaks as high as 3,478.6 metres (11,413 ft).
The snow melt fills the Güéjar Sierra reservoir that provides water to Granada city.

Forgive me, it has been several months since my last holiday.

Let the festivities begin. Tree purchase imminent, champagne deal being sought, lie-ins planned and already intending not to disgrace myself at the work Christmas party. I’ve learned my lesson after the space hopper incident several years back.

Now moving on to household matters, I found a very cute little cat head poking through the cat flap this morning. Not one of ours, but I won’t worry too much about that.

Okay, let the day begin.

I recently spent ten days in Andalucia and was delighted to be back there again. The pomegranates were ripe and I feasted on the sweet juicy fruits. It was beautiful to be able to enjoy the vast night skies there  – so clear, and so many stars. In the garden at the house I stayed in the roses were still in bloom. It was a time of many gifts, some of them tough, but I found great joy in the way inspiration always arises so spontaneously in Andalucia. I wrote the following poem on the bus as I was leaving Granada.

A colonial town with a real flavor of Andalucia. Sanlúcar de Barrameda is built on the estuary of the Guadalquivir river in Cádiz and at the point where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. On a clear day you can see Africa. It boasts beautiful plazas with palm trees. A mixture of Colonial and Moorish architecture. From the air you can see many dome roofs, churches and fortifications. It has one of the oldest bull rings in the South of Spain. This town has a great clean coastline with well kept natural beaches. These beaches to the north lead on to the Doñana National park, where wild horses roam with a host of other wildlife. The town has everything from narrow market streets to beach front promenades. The rivers edge is scattered with traditional fishing boats. To the south is the port of Cádiz.

La respuesta a la pregunta si me han jaqueado el blog es No. Simplemente, y como hacen los sabios he rectificado sobre estas fechas. Tampoco quiero decir que yo sea un tío de vastos conocimientos.

Partamos de la base de que la religión no ha tenido que ver nada en esta nueva actitud para con la navidad, sería un argumento absurdo y arcaico. Simplemente me he dado cuenta de que no todo en la vida tiene que ser Sí o NO, blanco o negro… Tampoco lo hago por los regalos que pueda recibir (ataque de tos que casi me muero). Este cambio de aptitud lo hago simple y llanamente por un sólo motivo. ME LO PIDE MI CORAZÓN.

No me ha tocado la lotería, sigo trabajando miles de millones de horas, sigo saliendo a la península con el camión, sigo sin tener un coche con cambio secuencial, sigo con unos kilillos de más, sigo sin poder ir a mi Andalucía ni tan sólo para una visita rápida, pero pese a todo eso. Soy Feliz. No puedo quejarme de la vida que llevo, entre otras cosas porque no tengo motivos para quejarme. Tengo a mi Turpi, a mi Winnie The Pooh gigante, a mi Scalextric, mi árbol de navidad con sus respectivos adornos, un sin fin de amigos  tanto físicos como por el feisbuk y estas nuevas tegnologías.

Pues con todo eso y un poco más que prefiero guardarme para mis adentros os deseo de todo corazón y acompañado de un gran abraz

Nokia estrena su primer miniportátil de la mano de Movistar

El precio del Nokia Booklet 3G oscilará entre 499 euros y 699 euros

A partir de mañana, día 1, Telefónica comercializará en España el Booklet 3G, el primer miniportátil (netbook) de Nokia, cuya principal novedad es que incorpora un módem 3G interno, con el que basta introducir la tarjeta SIM para conectarse automáticamente a Internet. El nuevo aparato, que supone una vuelta de Nokia al mundo de la informática -la marca finlandesa fabricó ordenadores durante la década de los 80- quiere ser un híbrido entre portátil y móvil en la confianza de que el acceso a Internet será crecientemente a través de redes celulares.

Su precio oscilará entre 499 y 629 euros y podrá adquirirse asociado a una de las tarifas planas ilimitadas de Internet Móvil movistar. En concreto, el precio será de 499 euros si se asocia a la tarifa plana Internet Maxi (49 euros al mes). Los clientes de movistar que contraten una tarifa Internet Plus (39 euros) podrán adquirirlo por 599 euros, mientras que aquellos que tengan una tarifa plana de internet (30 euros pagarán 629 euros. No obstante, durante los tres primeros meses los clientes de todas estas modalidades de tarifas disfrutarán de un 50% de descuento. Todas las tarifas exigen un contrato de permanencia de 24 meses.

España es junto con Alemania, Finlandia y Estados Unidos los únicos países donde se comercializará el Booklet 3G. Movistar mantendrá la exclusiva de los operadores durante el periodo navideño. Nokia lo vende ya en su tienda online a 699 euros, y se comenzará a comercializar a partir del 6 de enero libre por ese mismo precio.

Reyes Justribó, directora de Marketing de Nokia Iberia, destacó el reducido tamaño del miniportátil, con un peso de 1,25 kilogramos, su batería de larga duración (hasta 12 horas), el módem 3G interno, con una pantalla de 10,1 pulgadas, con definición similar a la de un televisor de plasma (1280×720 píxeles), 1 GB de memoria RAM, 120 GB de disco duro, puerto HDMI y conexión Wi-Fi, Bluetooth y 3G. El miniportátil incorpora de fábrica Windows 7, el último sistema operativo de Microsoft. El teclado tiene las teclas separadas para facilitar la escritura.

Según Pilar Latorre, directora de Marketing de Residencial Móvil de Telefónica España, con la comercialización del Nokia Booklet 3G Telefónica sigue ofreciendo a los usuarios las tarifas planas de internet móvil más competitivas del mercado, con la garantía de saber lo que pagas cada mes y sin cortes, ya que son ilimitadas, y apostando por las últimas tecnologías y los equipos más avanzados para conectarse a Internet desde cualquier sitio y con las mejores garantías”.

Pilar Latorre, directora de marketing de móvil de Telefónica, señaló que va dirigido a un público internauta que que quiere estar conectado y operativo en todo momento. Según un estudio realizado por la consultora Conecta, mediante 2.000 entrevistas online y 6 grupos especializados con usuarios de Internet, reveló que los más interesados en el Nokia Booklet 3G son los jóvenes profesionales en la treintena que trabajan habitualmente con Internet, tienen portátil y ADSL en casa y se conectan a Internet desde el móvil.

AUDIENCIAS | ‘Gran Hermano: El debate’ logra un 36% de ’share’

Indhira interesa a los españoles más que el presidente del Gobierno

Un triángulo amoroso, unos celos incontrolables y una gota que colmó una situación insostenible. Nunca un vaso de agua fue tan rentable. Eso es al menos lo que puede pensar el equipo de ‘Gran Hermano’, después de ver como su debate de madrugada era más seguido por la audiencia española que el mismísimo presidente del Gobierno. Todo gracias al que ya se conoce como el ‘Indhirazo’.

Los hechos acontecidos tras la gala del pasado jueves sirvieron al programa presentado por Jordi González para centrar su atención en la joven malagueña. Una entrevista ‘in situ’ de Mercedes Milá tras su repentina expulsión y continuas conexiones telefónicas con la susodicha para comentar los vídeos del espacio, bastaron a Telecinco para enganchar al televisor más allá de las 00.30 de la noche a 1.927.000 espectadores. Nada más y nada menos que un 36% de ’share’.

Unas cifras importantes para esa franja horaria que resaltan aún más si cabe cuando se comparan con el horario de ‘prime time’ de La Sexta, franja elegida para que Mamen Mendizábal entrevistara, a lo Oprah Winfrey con Barack Obama, a José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Sólo 1.284.000 espectadores, un 6,3% de ’share’ decidió seguir el análisis de la actualidad política, visto desde el punto de vista del máximo mandatario gubernamental. Todo un jarro de agua fría que parece dejar claro una cosa: donde esté la polémica Indhira que se quite la política de Estado.

Fuera de esta confrontación de audiencias, el liderato del ‘prime time’ dominical correspondió de nuevo a Antena 3 y su particular médico de pueblo, ‘Doctor Mateo’: 3.230.000 espectadores y un 16,9% de ’share’. Por detrás de la ficción, se encuentran una recuperada ‘Sin Tetas no hay paraíso’, con un 18,2% (3.151.000 espectadores); el estreno en La 1 de Keanu Reeves y ‘Constantine’ (3.125.000 espectadores y 16,7%); y la semifinal de un estable pero emocionante ‘Pekín Express’: 1.8883.000, 9,7% de ’share’.

P.- ¿Qué hay que hacer con más urgencia para modificar la imagen exterior de Andalucía?

R.- Lo primero es que algunos andaluces, que yo llamo graciosos entre comillas, fueran menos andaluces entre comillas. Cuando hay algo que nos perjudica, debemos pensar que una parte, no sé cuanta, es responsabilidad de quien lo padece. Hay gente aquí a la que le gusta dar esa imagen graciosa, en vez de la de científicos como José López Barneo o Guillermo Antiñolo. Somos pioneros en investigación biomédica y en igualdad de oportunidades. Queremos que sean los protagonistas los que salgan y lo expliquen, ni Gobierno ni Administración. El andaluz sabe que lo contrario de alegre es triste. El andaluz no es triste, es alegre y serio y responsable y cumplidor.

El Carpio: El fiscal ve indicios de delito en la protesta de Sánchez Gordillo

El fiscal cree que el diputado andaluz de IU Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo y el secretario general del

Sindicato Andaluz de Trabajadores (SAT), Diego Cañamero, pudieron cometer un delito en las protestas que lideraron en Córdoba el 14 de septiembre y obligaron a cambiar el trazado de la Vuelta Ciclista.

En su escrito, el fiscal recuerda que en aquella fecha se situaron unos 1.500 trabajadores del campo de toda Andalucía, «liderados» por Sánchez Gordillo y Cañamero, en el municipio cordobés de El Carpio con el objetivo de reivindicar mejoras laborales para los trabajadores del campo.

En el texto, el fiscal afirma en primer lugar que la intención de los trabajadores, situados en los márgenes de la antigua carretera N-IV a su paso por El Carpio, era interrumpir el recorrido de la Vuelta Ciclista a España, objetivo que impidió la Guardia Civil, si bien, los agricultores ocuparon la calzada alzando los brazos cuando los ciclistas pasaban por allí, por lo que la carrera tuvo que modificar su recorrido.

Además, el Ministerio Público explica que el mismo día, el representante de la empresa Euroexplotaciones Agrarias S.A. interpuso una denuncia ante la Guardia Civil de Montoro por la ocupación por diferentes personas de la finca de la «Buenavista», propiedad de la duquesa de Alba en El Carpio.

El fiscal recoge que en estas acciones, Sánchez Gordillo y Cañamero podrían haber incurrido en delitos de usurpación de propiedad y desordenes públicos, junto a veintiuna personas más que participaron en los citados altercados.

Asimismo, el Ministerio Público también estima que, según las denuncias de los altercados interpuestas por la Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional y por el representante de la finca de la duquesa de Alba, los hechos podrían ser considerados como delitos o faltas contra el orden públicos así como un delito de usurpación.

El escrito del fiscal añade que la decisión sobre la posible imputación como responsable de Sánchez Gordillo, al ser un miembro del Parlamento de Andalucía, debe corresponder al Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía.

The distance between Málaga and Córdoba will remain of 163 kilometres but the time due to cover it will be reduced of a half an hour. At Christmas time the two Andalusian cities will be 30 minutes closer thanks to the finalisation of the last stretch of the motorway (A-45), between Benamejí and Encinas Reales.

The Ministry of Development foresees that the road will be asphalted within the next weeks. The opening will be around 20^th December and this coincides with Christmas time, one of the high-peak date.The motorway will record between 11,000 and 21,000 vehicles per day, although these figures might increase during holiday periods and weekends.
