This post is based on a true story … really!

There was an elderly, widowed 9th grade algebra teacher in Alabama, who, as a result of the years and the students she had to put up with, became convinced that she was an equilateral triangle.  When she was cornered, she always looked for a new angle, in her own way of circular thinking she could never measure up. She treated everyone equilaterally, until someone called her a square. Although this may have been an acute observation, it was not right. The Pythagorean who made this accusation did not realize that it was actually an obtuse theorem. The teacher was put on a plane, sent away and committed for her polygonous belief. Many thought that being institutionalized would scalene down her parallelanoia, however, it must have been geometrically impossible to solve that equation. To sum up … there is good news and bad news. The good news is that this teacher was cured of believing she was a triangle. The bad news: in a special, isoscelestic, 180° turn, she now thinks she is trapped inside a triangle. Does that mean that she is trapezoid?

So, I am basically starting this blog to help me wind down from my insomnia, something I’ve battled with since I lost my Job in February. Basically for the last 8 months I have been sleeping for no more than 4 hours a night… or at least until recently… I feel now it’s wearing off, but in thr wrong direction, rather than falling asleep at 6am and sleeping through til 9-10am I am now sleeping through to midday. This is not fun, but there’s not much that can be done with that until I find a new job and force my back into proper diurnal* hours.

I have left my girlfriend (herein known as Bunny, which happens to be my pet name for her) sleeping in her single bed, the one we have both been sharing for the last 2 weeks. I don’t want to complain, as it’s much more comfortable than the one I left in England, seeing as hers is missing the massive craters and the stray spring, that had worked it’s way free of the mattress itself, that constantly poked and stabbed me whenever I moved. However, it is a single bed, in that it is made for one person, and we don’t quite fit without either touching the actually quite cold wall, or hanging over the edge.

But we hope to rectify that tomorrow (or at least go some distance in rectifying it) with our flat/househunting.

So I am currently staring at the screen, as she occasionally wakes and asks me what I’m doing, drinking a can of lager that my Father-In-Law-To-Be-If-Things-Go-Right has been trying to get me to drink since I got here two weeks ago (I normally cannot drink lager, but I thought it best to both remind myself why I don’t like it and have a drink that is cold). Bunny’s parents are cool, and I really like them, however, I am aware that I have been here in their house for 2 weeks with my only contribution being a Roast Dinner I cooked on sunday, and even then I had three people helping me cook a dinner for four people, whereas at home I would be left to cook one for ten people. (I am aware of my mixing my number types, but… MEH!)

Find a place to live

Buy a car

(re)Take my driving test and apply for an Irish License

Collect the rest of my stuff from England

Once these have been done I can concentrate on the next stage of things. I am really hoping to get all of these done by Christmas, but seeing as November is VERY rapidly running out, my birthday in February might be more realistic.

Anyway, Bunny is glaring at me through very heavy half-closed eyes, so I must depart.

*Diurnal: Awake during daylight hours and sleeping at night, in essence the opposite of nocturnal, which is my current sleep situation.

Ok, so you’re fat, ugly and/or disgusting. What to do, what to do? You’re too cheap for surgery, you’re too lazy to do some exercise and start living that healthy life that you always talked about. But you know, you’re always busy with something else, there is always something more important or some other BS like that, and you never get the time. Well no worries, we have just the solution for you, and it’s easy as 1, 2, 3, you’re fat. You don’t have to stop looking/being fat, you just have to wisely double-cross the naive judgemental eyes of others. “And how am I suppose to do that?” – you might ask. And the answer is… the despised “Myspace angle” (the origins of this illusion are traced back to Myspace). The two magical words powerful enough to put fear even in the bravest of hearts, if they have been deceived sometime in the past by the illusive Myspace angle. And for all of you double-crossing wannabe sons of bitches it works like this. You get your camera/camera phone in your hand and put it as high as it goes over your face and you shoot the photo downwards. There’s two types of pictures that you can take: face and face&body shots. If you choose to go for the face&body shot be sure that the angle is sharp enough so that you see the nice parts of your body i.e. your jugs (Myspace angles are mostly used by females). But beware not to go below them because you might just reveal those fat legs or something. Once you got that perfect non-revealing, deceptive, happy-shot, you might wanna go and play with the contrast of the picture a bit so that you can hide those killer acne and such. Once you’ve done this go ahead and upload your photo to Myspace and/or some other social networking site and start deceiving all of them pedophiles and serial killers out there. As for all the guys out there, assuming your not gay, you have been warned. So the next time you hear your friend say something like “yo, dude I’m chatting with the hottest girl on Myspace”, you just look him straight in the eye and say “no your not man, no your not”. So, fellas you might wanna watch out for these signs of Myspace angle fraud:
1. If all her photos are taken in this way, get out and get out fast.
2. If there’s only one photo on her profile and it’s taken in the way of the Myspace, flee, and flee now.
3. If she continuously postpones the first meeting, chances are that she doesn’t want to be seen live, so run, run for your life.
*Prevention methods include: asking for her to meet or at least asking her to send you some other picture that is not on the profile.
