Just remind back of funny old memory, I was searching the Cardcaptor Sakura’s live action OP 1 (Gumi – Catch You Catch Me), and find this video in youtube… frankly, this is one of most funny live action video that I have even seen also little bit annoying.

I’m already watching the live action last 3 years and it’s quite funny and awesome… The live action actually make by a group of guy (YES, it’s a guy, not girl!!) and dressing and make camera shoot near the original anime opening.

Until now, if I remind back in my head, I will laugh and laugh, non stop… ok, enjoy!!

Uh yea it was kinda funny at first but then she’s like MY DADDY’S DEAD WAHHHHH and then her mother comes running and it gets all dramatic. I do have a feeling they’re centering the plot around Roppongi though. They told him he should “speak more” and he was randomly hanging around with everyone today while the other guys were left behind. Only 4 more eps left right? I’m still crossing my fingers for Akari x Roppongi bwahahaha

Ya se puede encontrar el segundo trailer de la ultima pelicula de Kara no Kyoukai(fronteras del vacío), finalizando la adaptación de la novela ligera original de TYPE-MOON creada por Kinoko Nasu e ilustrada por Takashi Takeuchi con 7 peliculas en total. La pelicula Kara no Kyoukai: Satsujin Kousatsu II(a study in a murder II) es la pelicula por su mezcla de acción, fantasia, romance y misterio.

Sinopsis:

Kara no Kyoukai nos presenta la historia de Ryougi Shiki, una adolescente que tras despertar de un coma de dos años, producto de un accidente de transito, descubre que posee el increíble don de ver la muerte en todo ser vivo debido a los chokushi no magan, unos ojos capaces de percibir la muerte de todas las cosas(igual que el Shiki de Tsukihime). Pero siente haber perdido algo a cambio de ese poder .

Todo niño nació la familia Ryougi (ya que por lo general nacen siempre varones) son entrenados en diversas disciplinas para que logren dividir su personalidad y así formar una clan de seres humanos superiores. Así, todo mimbro de la familia posee una personalidad masculina y otra femenina, las cuales utilizan según la ocasión que se les presenta. Luego de despertar, Shiki, siente que su personalidad masculina ha muerto en ella, lo que la llevará a sustituir la muerte espiritual de esa personalidad por el tono masculino que poseerá en toda la historia.

Trailers Kara no Kyoukai 7:

Boy, did Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (TM8) come out of nowhere and completely surprise me. It is a riveting story about what could possibly happen if Tokyo were to get hit by a devastating earthquake of magnitude 8.0. Mirai, a middle school freshman girl, and her younger brother, Yuuki, go to Tokyo at the start of summer vacation for a robot exhibition. An earthquake of magnitude 8.0 occurs which causes much devastation to Tokyo and the surrounding areas. They meet up with Mari, a motorcycle delivery woman, amidst the turmoil, and they start their journey to go back home.

Story: 10/10

The story is fascinating and fresh. There is a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode that states a large amount of research concerning earthquakes and such were done as the show is striving for realism. The show is fiction, but this sense of realism adds to the emotional story. Further, the flow of the story, for the most part, is excellent and will make viewers want to watch the episodes consecutively.

Animation: 8/10

The character drawings range from “average” at worst to “very good” at best. In some scenes, the characters look lazily drawn, but it gets the point across and is not annoying to look at. The backdrop has much more detail and is often times excellent in quality. The CG scenes are well done too. The difference in quality between the character and setting animations is to increase the overall realism and devastation caused by the earthquake.

Characters: 10/10

The characters are exceptional. Everyone is believable and very likeable. The protagonists grow with the unfolding events and are a main reason why the story is so moving. Further, the supporting cast is also well done. One can connect with any of the side characters and sympathize with their situation. In addition, the voice actors did an excellent job of conveying the tone and emotion to put an genuine spin on their characters (especially Mari and Yuuki’s seiyuus).

Music: 8/10

Kimi No Uta’s (opening) music and lyrics are fitting for the chaotic events and describe the protagonists’ situation well. The ending song, Melody, is very catchy and uplifting. Its “melody” is light and happy which clashes (in a good way) with some of the more serious scenes. The background score, while not exactly memorable by itself, is purposeful and moving.

Gut Feeling Rating: 7/10

Why is my gut feeling about this show just slightly above average when all the other qualities are higher? It is because I literally felt like I was punched in my emotional and proverbial gut towards the end of the show. Don’t get me wrong, the ending is far from horrible. It is hard to explain what I’m talking about without spoiling it so let me just simply say that it did its job of evoking my emotions, however I feel that it did too good of a job. We all know too much of a good thing can be bad.  The ending is extremely bittersweet, making me have a love-hate relationship for this series. I am sure other viewers will disagree with my gut feeling. I can see where they are coming from and completely respect that (see my perfect 10/10 score for the story).

Average Series Rating: 8/10 – Very Good

Bottom line: TM8 is a gripping, refreshing, depressing, but extremely entertaining drama. The viewer may want to watch something happier and lighter at the end because it is a real tear jerker. Not exactly my cup of tea (too sad), however I know a special series when I see it.

¡¡Los hermanos Elric están de regreso!! Ya está Full Metal Alchemist 2: Brotherhood.

Al parecer es la misma historia, algo así como “Borrón y cuenta nueva” ya que FMA estaba terminada con la película los Conquistadores de Shambala.

Pues ya está descargándose hehe pero a lo que he leído, la calidad sigue siendo la misma, la música excelente así como las clásicas escenas chibis hehe que dramatizan la historia. Ha sido el mismo estudios (Boones) quien nos trae FMA.

Personalmente es mi anime favorito. La evolución de la historia en FMA es increíble; al principio era muy cómica, había muchos saltos en la historia pero conforme va avanzando la trama se hace más madura. Las escenas súper graciosas van dando paso a las dramáticas y emotivas. Es un ánime que me ha hecho reír y llorar. Y es que en serio, los últimos capítulos eran tan intensos, casi ya sin chistes xD, recuerdo que me vi los últimos 8 capítulos seguidos…

Pues les comparto mi emoción. Aquí les dejo las páginas de donde las estoy bajando.

Monday’s very lazy and I’m not in the mood to go to work. Furthermore, I got another project to develop an invoice and accounting application in PHP. Okay, at the beginning that I would post a new “letter” everyday, ie, I would put up a new section of this massive post each day. I’m sure that yesterday night you canceled all of your plans, or maybe even made plans with friends, in anticipation of viewing my next post, and I’m sorry to say that I didn’t put it up. You must all be heartbroken, but give me a break, it was Saturday, you don’t expect me to stay in on a Saturday night, do you?

Anyway, today I’m back with a shitty new header (or updated header) that I designed in MS Paint, which is the only thing that I use to alter pictures, because I don’t have photoshop and wouldn’t use it anyway, because the shittyness that is MS Paint actually appeals to me and this site (which is proportionally shitty). It took me about 1 minute, and it looks like shit, but I like it, so it stays.

Anyway, here is “I-J” (there’s only one “J”), and it is quite extensive, due mainly to one character.

Ichigo 100% – Satsuki Kitaoji

Junpei, like most harem leads, seems to make the wrong choice in the end and not choose Satsuki. I mean, Satsuki is perfect (for me). She’s the aggressive, athletic type, who obviously loves sex (athletic girls love sex, I just decided that now). Not only that, but DDD boobs? Come on Junpei.

NOTE: Satsuki would just be my final choice. I would still have sex with all of them.

Ikkitousen – Ryomou Shimei

Let me first say, that Ikki Tousen was cool in that it used people from Romance of the Three Kingdoms (Dynasty Warriors). All of the fighters had a spirit of a fighter in them (or something, and Ryomou had Lu Meng, who was pretty cool I guess…….in Dynasty Warriors at least. But after that, I liked her serious attitude, nasty fighting skills, eye patch (eye patches RULLLEEE) and French Maid costume. Yizzerrr.

Inukami! -Yoko

I actually like Inukami a lot. It was funny, perverted, and contained a solid cast, not to mention an acceptable plot. That’s why it’s a top 20 for me. It took me a while to decide who I liked more, Yoko of Keita. Both have great seiyu (Yui Horie and Jun Fukuyama respectively), but in the end I went with Yoko, because, like Dokuro from Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, she helps move the plot along, and is a general reason for most of the perverted funniness. For example, she has the ability to teleport things, mainly, Keita’s clothes. Usually when this happens, a police officer happens to show up right on que, and bring him to jail. Keita then becomes known as a pervert, and in jail he meets other perverts, and generally the whole show is hilarious.

Yoko is also not actually an Inukami (dog God?) but a Kitsune (fox God?), and that is kind of cool I guess.

InuYasha – Inuyasha

Wow. This was difficult. Sesshomaru is undeniably the most bad ass in the series, but in terms of overall characters, I think I had to give it to Inuyasha, and here’s why.

First of all, Inuyasha’s personality is pretty much: “What the hell? I’ll beat your ass!” He’s not exactly a tactician when he fights, he kind of just tries to muscle his way through any problems. Want an example? Fuck…pick an episode, I’ll pick episode 6 of the brand new season (a season which, despite being awesome, is moving way to fast for my liking).

In said episode, the gang comes to a man-eating tree, which has had a shard implanted in it by Naraku, thus causing it to revive, despite the seal that Kikyou put on it 50 years earlier. Most of the gang is scratching their heads as to why Naraku would do such a thing. Inuyasha doesn’t give a fuck, he just starts flingin windscars at the thing.

Basically, Inuyasha is an impatient half-bad-ass, while Sesshomaru is a patient bad-ass. I am an impatient half bad-ass. I can relate to Inuyasha.

Also, he has three forms, his human form, his half-demon form (regular form), and his full out crazy-ass demon form (the best form). Why is this a good thing? It just is. Since Ilike his full demon form, I’ll talk about that first:

When Inuyasha is full demon, he loses himself completely, and just wants to kill everything, whether they’re friends of not. Episode 52 of the first series? AWESOME. I’ve got that shit memorized. Especially when he jumps up, slices the moth-demon to pieces, and then he lands and like….slides across the ground in a sick-ass pose. Just awesome. But that’s only one reason why Inuyasha edges out his half brother for the top spot, because let’s face, it, Sesshomaru does this kind of thing on a daily basis, except he doesn’t need poses. Therefore, why else should I choose Inuyasha?

Well, he’s got a lot of….ugh…..depth? Not really, but kind of. Got picked on as a kid, and instead of crying about it, he simply decided that all people (or demons) were stupid, and decided, “fuck em.” This is a good point of view for anyone to take, and one that I have personally taken. People suck. On the other end of the spectrum, we have Sesshomaru, the bad-ass FULL FLEDGED DEMON who was always treated as such. People, what we have here is kind of a case of a golden child, and a brown child.

Inuyasha (like me) is a brown child (brown is the color of shit). He was the less liked sibling (apparently), where as Sesshomaru was the golden child, who was treated as the proper one. Now, I say that this is kind of a case of brown/golden child, and not a classic case, because as we see, Inuyasha was given the Tessaiga, and Sesshomaru was given the Tensaiga, a sword who’s purpose was to be absorbed by the Tessaiga. So in the end, Inuyasha was given the better sword by his father. Am I talking in circles? Probably. What I was attempting to say was that Inuyasha had to struggle through life, and that’s sick.

Another reason is the aspect of REVENGE. I love revenge like nothing. Any movie or show about revenge is something that is almost guaranteed to make me happy. In this sense, Inyasha (along with pretty much everyone in the series) is out for revenge against Naraku, who, at one point of another, fucked each character over, except Shippo, who is a pointless character. Sesshomaru does not have any reason for revenge, he just has….I guess I’d call it a gripe against Sesshomaru, which is different then revenge, which is stronger. I feel like, revenge insinuates that someone you’re trying to get back at someone for something that you lost, while a gripe is similar to a verbal dispute, like, “Oh, you did that, to my wife, I’m sorry sir, but I’m going to break your leg.”

Shit, I can’t really put my finger on my I like Inuyasha more than Sesshomaru…..this whole thing was a jumbled mess of shit. I like them both, I guess in the end, I like Inuyasha more because:

• He had it tougher than Sesshomaru
• He’s got a big ass sword
• He’s transforms cooly (not to say that Sesshomaru doesn’t)
• He’s the fucking man

Ippatsu Kikimusume -Kunyan

This girl gets into so many situations that are life or death…..and somehow she gets out of all of them…..this short (what was it, and OVA?) was awesome.

Jigoku Shoujo – Enma Ai

This one’s a no brainier. Or is it? Honestly, for a main character, Enma Ai doesn’t get much screen time, and when she does, it’s usually just her whisking some poor faggot away to hell. Or is it? I’m asking a lot of questions to confuse you. Let’s take a look at what makes her tick.

So she doesn’t say much…..when has that EVER been a bad thing? The great thing about Enma is that she doesn’t need words to express her self. It isn’t hard to see her general mood during certain times, like when she’s inspecting a customer’s situation. Am I going to use an example? Am I?

No. Watch the show if you want an example. (you fuckers should have watched it twice already anyway).

SIDE NOTES: I’m finally done with Pandora Hearts. I’m trying to catch up with all the shit I didn’t finish watching, like Bakemonogatari, Basquash, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, Umi Monogatari, Kanememo etc.

Basquash is good so far, but if it’s soo good, why am I so unmotivated to watch it. I’d rather watch Ranma at this point for some reason. In fact, I’m pretty unmotivated to watch any of these shows.

Kanememo sucks, but I’m slowly nearing the end of it’s shittyness. As far as a grade, it’s eying a 3 with hopeful eyes right now.

Umi Monogatari has it’s moments, but the soundtrack never changes, even when there’s momemts of suspense. The music just doesn’t match sometimes.

Some people seem really interested in making the mask like i am!

Well if anybody’s curious im already halfway done with the mask base [which was made from a mixture of 50ml glue, cup of flour and cup of water and lots of newspaper], although i need some plasticine to form the mask

However if the papermache is layered enough, i might be able to just sand paper the mask as it is and paint it.

For the other items, im going to try carving a knife from a piece of light but sturdy wood. [or if all else fails, ill buy this online]

And the constume is going to be a pain in the arse, but if anyone is interested, ill try and upload blueprints on how to sew it together.

This is actually a Lilium request for a To Aru Kagaku Railgun Rainmeter skin. The character here is Misaka Mikoto which I find her in the series is tsundereically charming (Haha, what am I saying?). A little bit disappointed though, by this second season, but the fan service and the comedy is quite refreshing. i’m getting excited about the upcoming holidays.  going to pittsburgh wednesday and coming back here sunday.  on saturday, amy and i are going to frank lloyd wright’s fallingwater.  i’m so stoked about getting to see it in person.  i’ve seen a lot of pictures of it and read about it, but nothing’s like seeing something like that in person.  yay!

watched a lot of anime and movies this weekend:  finally saw ‘the big lebowski’ and that was ridiculously hilarious.  i couldn’t stop thinking ‘the dude’ was my dad, though…hahah – they look so alike!  watched the last 8 episodes or so of ‘cowboy bebop’ while eating black bread, pickles, salami and cheese and drinking luksosowa vodka from water glasses.  i have to say, that series was extremely enjoyable – not the deepest thing i’ve ever seen or anything like that, but simply very fun to watch (and the soundtrack is fantastic!).  additionally, i watched the final 3 episodes of ‘tokyo magnitude 8.0′ while bawling my eyes out.  episodes throughout made me cry from the beginning, but i was a non-stop tear machine for the end of it.  what an amazing series.  it’s definitely up there among my favorites.  i wasn’t expecting the twist at the end or how elegantly everything was tied up.  wow.  it was just that good.

had my calligraphy lesson tonight with mizue.  it was fun.  we just copied more sutras for most of the time.  i also showed her my scrapbook so far of japan.  she liked it — sounded like it might be something she’d be interested in doing herself someday.  i told her that miyuki scrapbooks, too, so at least she’ll have someone to work with if she’s interested.

and finally, my glasses are ordered.  i doubt i’ll get them before going to pittsburgh, but i imagine they should be finished when i return =)

This weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Waterloo Festival for Animated Cinema. It is a yearly festival that has been going on for nine years. I have been going to university in Waterloo since last year, but I had never heard of this event.

Fortunately, this year I received an e-mail from my campus’s gaming oriented club informing me about this festival. And once I learned from their website that they would have a showing of the North American premiere for Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, I knew I had to go.

Initially, I expected that most of the films that were to be shown would be Japanese. I was surprised when I found out that only 3 out of the 14 were Japanese anime films. They had films from many diverse countries countries including Ireland, Hungary, Australia, Sweden, Belgium and Serbia.

The theme of this year’s festival was Russian animation. Specifically, the focus of the event was on a select number of some of the oldest films in Russian animation which had their start in the Soviet Union. I even got to see the Soviet Union’s first animated feature film, The Lost Letter, which was made in 1945.

I also have to give a big kudos to the team who put this event together. They did an amazing job with the programme booklets, ticket system, and the overall aesthetic quality and organization of the festival. The staff was also very friendly and made me feel right at home. I had a great time and definitely plan on going next year.
