Apparently butterflies, wedges, stripes, purple, mesh, and an open toe boot can mix?? Or at least that’s the way that Ballin sees it going for their design they’ve created for Anna Sui’s Spring 2010 shoes? I would love to see the lady that would take these shoes to the street and see what outfit she would put with these shoes. I’m not sure these even have a name. . . but do you have any? If it can’t be named, can it even be worn? Looks like it is more appropriate for a Japanese anime superhero character than for any other modern woman? But then again, the comfort of a wedge gets you everytime. . . Does the shoe fit?

I truly can’t think of a piece of news to render this day any sweeter (unless anyone has a “Balenciaga to Launch at B.J.’s” article they need to send my way).

ZAC POSEN will soon be made affordable to the world courtesy of (who else) TARGET, so step aside, Rihanna: I have some SHOPPING TO DO (well, in April).

Tax refunds, anyone? Mmmhmmm, I think so. Ps: don’t forget that on deck we currently have Rodarte (to hit December 20^th) and Jean Paul Gaultier (hits March 7^th). After Sui’s rather disappointing lead-off in September, this undoubtedly leaves Posen poised to hit one OUT OF THE PARK.

Faltan tan pocos días para que empiece diciembre, un mes algo incierto para mí ya que no sé aun si podré pasar Navidad y Año Nuevo junto a mi familia y Sonny ε-(；-ω-｀A) ﾌｩ… estoy tratando de agotar todas las posibilidades existentes para poder estar ese día en casa y no en la oficina.

Esta clase de situaciones además de generarme un estrés innecesario hace que cada vez odie más mi actual trabajo *sigh*.

Sonny dice que quiere ropa y como es prácticamente nuestra primera Navidad juntos quiero que reciba cosas que de verdad le van a gustar. Si hay algo que me encanta son las mascarillas faciales y Bihada Ichizoku tiene de las mejores. Hace no mucho lanzaron un set de edición limitada ya que la línea acaba de cumplir 3 años, ¡definitivamente debo tenerlo! ＼（○＾ω＾○）／

Es una marca sur coreana dedicada al diseño y producción de artículos de escritorio. Sus ilustraciones son simplemente hermosas (人´∀｀)．☆．。．:* el año pasado conseguí la agenda que lanzaron para el 2009 y este año lanzan diarios. Especialmente me gustó mucho el de color púrpura que es precisamente el que quiero para mí.

He estado queriendo esto por mucho tiempo σ(●´з｀). Este lanzamiento es relativamente nuevo y lo quiero-quiero-quiero. Colecciono perfumes (DYNK, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera, Victoria’s Secret, etc) y tenerlos sería la adición perfecta :3

Polo ancho Beccgirl

Hace mucho tiempo encontré un polo con un diseño similar sólo que muy señido, pensé en comprarlo pese a que no estaba del todo convencida de si me quedaría bien, decidí dejarlo ir pensando que no volvería a encontrar un diseño parecido, pero este es mucho mejor, podría decirse que es su versión perfecta para mí ヾ(´▽｀*;)ゝ” ¡lo quiero!

Algunas otras opciones que consideré fueron los sets de barniz de Anna Sui que no logré conseguir para mi cumpleaños, lo que más me atrae de esos sets es que huele a rosas. El problema es que el envío por esos dos productos hace que sea costoso el adquirirlo ｡･ﾟﾟ･(>д<;)･ﾟﾟ･｡ﾋｨｯ *sigh*

Target just announced two new exciting designer collaborations, set to launch in spring 2010!
Cynthia Vincent’s limited-editions footwear line and Eugenia Kim’s hat line will hit the stores and Target.com on April 18, 2010.

Target has become somewhat of a fashion right of passage with designers like Alexander McQueen, Anna Scheffield, Proenza Schouler and Anna Sui.

Katsui graduated from Central Saint Martins College after studying at Parsons The New School for Design. Yagi graduated from Doshisha University and Central Saint Martins College.
The brand, mintdesigns was launched in 2001. They have been in Tokyo Collection since ‘03 S/S. The awards they won include the Moet et Chandon New Designer’s Award in 2005. In 2007, mintdesigns garage store opened in Shibuya PARCO. They presented their collection in the 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT THIS PLAY! show. In 2008, they presented the opening show at São Paulo Fashion Week for ‘09 S/S. Both designers currently hold positions as guest professors at the Faculty of Art and Design at Osaka Seikei University. In 2009 they presented their collection at the Milano Salone TOKYO FIBER ‘09.Mint Designs turned out a dainty crop of dresses featuring details such as shimmery stripes, textured fabric and quirky graphics. One frock featured a darling print of tiny Charlie Chaplins, while another showcased circular cutouts along the sides.

It’s not like we didn’t see this coming, the 80’s revival has been in full swing, and the Fall 2009 runways had touches of this rock infused fabric sprinkled throughout. I have gotten questions from clients wondering how to update their holiday look and in my opinion adding a net overlay dress into the mix is fresh, edgy and a sure-fire way to get you a smooch under the mistletoe. (As if you needed a reason to lock lips at your cousin’s, neighbor’s, co worker’s Single’s Only Holiday Party< which if you are single, I totally recommend you have or go to one!) There are a slew of fabrics that have the dramatic feel of the garment being covered in a dark net such as a fine mesh, or an organza. Vampire inspired beauty trend

An allure of pale complexions, dark smoky eyes with extended lashes, deep crimson stained lips and raven hair has turned beauty trendsetters into beloved blood suckers. This year’s vampire inspired-look is credited to the popular Twilight franchise and HBO’s True Blood .

The visual trope of a vampire may include fangs but the image has sent many cosmetic brands lusting and beautiful villains strutting down Fall 2009 ready-to-wear runways. Anna Sui is among a platoon of designers bitten by the potent bloody brute. The models’ cheekbones were contoured in blush complimenting dark-lined eyes and bold lips. Muccia Prada took it a step further with blanched skin tones, red-rimmed eyes with a midnight smoky effect over the lids and spooky frizzed-up hair.

“Either go with black knight, a classic red or dark purple lipstick with crazy dramatic eyes to achieve the look,” said Roberto Salazar, freelance makeup artist at MAC Cosmetics. “You can use Carbon black eye shadow with a silvery dark metallic to highlight the lid, a smoulder eye liner, black Plump Lash and the same eyeshadow can be blended on the cheek under blush to get the pale scary effect.”

Twilight Beauty, a new cosmetic brand composed of two lines makes it easier for vamp followers to take part in the captivating trend. The blockbuster series of Twilight films including New Moon which arrives in theaters on November 20 was the driving force behind the brand. Bundled in sophisticated packaging, Luna Twilight and Volturi Twilight launched in Dillards, Nordstroms and specialty retailers in September.

Esmy Mancia and Kimberly Clark of All About Beauty teamed up with Cristina Bartolucci, creative director of DuWop Cosmetics to develop over 70 products for Twilight Beauty. Luna Twilight, the luxurious collection reflects saga’s female characters and creates a soft, natural yet edgy face.

“The lip venom which is a lip stain is the most popular item sold in the Luna collection,” said Alexandra Greene, makeup consultant at Nordstroms. “It gives a really pretty look.” The lip gloss sells for $16. Greene also recommends Snow Storm Moon Shadow for $20 to get a smoky eye.

The murky line, Volturi Twilight exploits through the family’s crest as the brands logo. Volturi features Enrapture black lip gloss in Arsenic for $12 and Foreshadow Primer, an ultra-sheer eye base that provides preparation for a smoother eyeshadow application.

Since there’s no snow on the ground, I don’t really have the drive to pull out my La Canadiennes yet. I wore my “big ugly parka” (one of those long Triple Five Soul down-filled coats that were selling well in 2005) to school today and it was a bit too much, but until my tweed coat arrives (the ‘rents are in Hong Kong and are posting it from there), it’s all I have as my Soia&Kyo is too thin. Amanda/Beyonce who sits beside me in class began to wear her fake Uggs yesterday and while I usually turn my nose up to Uggs, they seem rather appropriate for this sort of dry, sub-zero weather. I saw these shearling-lined suede boots online and I felt reassured that there was something better available, not that I’ll be buying them from Harbin or anything.

On another note, I was reading about Emma and Ronni’s Oxford Srafcon and their visit to an exhibition on steampunk and it reminded me of something James said to me at a party once when he noticed that because I could not drink, I lacked a party prop. He suggested opera glasses. The last time I wanted them was when I was watching Turandot from the nosebleeds at the Bird’s Nest. This put me on an Esty quest and while I could not really find the vntage sort I was looking for, these old school fold-up binoculars caught my eye.

With these particular coats, while they’re a steal to the average luxury shopper, they’re a bit of a stretch on the cheque book for the rest of us, but they’re worth the investment if you’d like to keep them in your closet for longer than the current season. I’d like to think that these are not too dated; they’re more like timeless pieces that look fab, have a bit of edge and are made by some recognized fashion brand.

It’s good to mix and match your wardrobe. The key is to make sure that if you’re going to break the bank, make sure that the winter coat has all the proper commodities (can you wear it for at least two to three years?).

Hello, my name is A.Marie…. and I am addicted to shopping.

….and here’s my story: I have never been clean, nor have I been sober from the vices of shopping. I tend to loose control when faced with good deals, making Black Friday, a perfect venue for me to relapse. I don’t feel like I need to be contained in rehab for shopscapades, so long as I am getting a good deal. Extreme excitement overtakes my inhibitions when I am in close contact with stellar deals.

With the recession, fashionistas still need their fashion fix, and collaborations with high-end designers and mass market retails stores, allow the budget friendly | and shopping and fashion slaves |, like me, rejoice! Such examples include: Vera Wang and Kohl’s and Jimmy Choo and H&M.

Target is no stranger to the providing its shoppers with luxe items for less. In the past, Target has partnered with: Alice Temperly of London, Anna Sui and even Alexander McQueen, labeling their designer offers as “Fruglista Finds.” | LOVE it! |.

Coming December 20, 2009, designer sisters, RODARTE, will launch their luxe line for (a lot) less line at Target. It’s said to be chic, fashion forward and best of all, the factor that makes me so weak in the face of fashion, is the affordability.

Fashion costs can be exhorbitant, but you can evade its inevitability by thinking outside of the shopping cart – finding new ways to still have designer looks, for a lot less.

Feathering Out

There’s one aspect of the animal pattern craze we’ve neglected to mention – the feather. Now, if you thought that zebra print was difficult to pull off, feathers make that look like a piece of cake. However, if you’re willing to really go for the gusto and stand out from the crowd, this can be a fun look that will turn heads wherever you go (except an aviary!).

Do remember, as with all bold statements, that less is more. And a great way to sport this look without looking too over-the-top is to wear feathered earrings (for example, peacock feathers are gorgeous and eye-drawing). Go cuckoo!
