Je signale notamment l’appel à projets jeunes chercheuses et jeunes chercheurs: “il s’agit d’identifier et de soutenir des projets scientifiques originaux portés par des jeunes chercheurs ou enseignants-chercheurs ayant un emploi permanent, formant éventuellement des équipes autonomes ou visant à le devenir.”
Il y a également un appel à projets thématiques; pour les SHS, les thématiques sont:

- la création : processus, acteurs, objets, contextes,
- les énigmes spatiales de la vie en société.
Bon, avec un peu d’imagination, il y a moyen de travailler sur la religion, là dedans…

Constitution d’une base de données électronique portant sur un village chinois situé dans la province du Zhejiang (Village de Lianmin), qui a fait l’objet d’une collecte de données sans précédent en Chine : entretiens menés avec des membres du village y ayant occupé des positions différentes depuis 1949 ; collecte d’archives administratives du village, du bourg, et du district ; recueil de journaux personnels, procès-verbaux de réunions, livres de comptabilité, reçus ; budgets familiaux ; recensements démographiques, etc…

Ce programme de recherche international et pluridisciplinaire associe travail de recherche et conservation de données. Etabli en partenariat entre le CECMC,  le département de sociologie et d’anthropologie de l’Université Fudan et le département de sociologie et d’anthropologie de l’Université de Pékin (Beida),  il se déroulera sur une période de trois ans (automne 2009-automne 2012).

Le travail qui sera mené se décline ne trois points : – trier, ordonner, classer les matériaux écrits et non écrits déjà réunis et les numériser, après avoir résolu les questions à la fois scientifiques, techniques et juridiques qui se posent, – compléter ces matériaux en développant de nouvelles enquêtes de terrain, – tester la base de donnée dans le cours même de sa constitution en l’utilisant comme support de recherches particulières relevant de disciplines variées (sciences politiques, économie, sociologie, anthropologie)

Depuis fin 2005, nous savons comment le CNRS sera traité via ANR, AERES qui était déjà dans les cartons.

Le limogeage en janvier 2006 de l’ancien directeur du CNRS (avec démission solidaire de toute la direction) a été le premier élément visible.

EN 2009, le Conseil scientifique (CS) du CNRS, sous la pression de la direction elle-même pilotée par le ministère, a voté la liste et les intitulés des neuf instituts du CNRS, à savoir : chimie, écologie et environnement, physique, physique nucléaire et physique des particules, sciences biologiques, sciences humaines et sociales, sciences mathématiques et leurs interactions, sciences et technologies de l’information et de l’ingénierie, sciences de l’univers.

Le CS a cependant refusé de voter le Contrat d’objectifs et de moyens et l’a renvoyé à ses auteurs pour réécriture. En effet, ce contrat réorganise le CNRS en transférant aux universités la gestion des UMR et en accentuant le rôle d’agence au détriment de celui d’opérateur de recherche du CNRS.

La rapport de l’AERES sur l’évaluation de l’INSERM est clair: faire un institut des sciences du vivant qui débouche sur “alliance”.Mais la partie biologie du CNRS sera surtout pilotée par l’INSERM.

Le rapport sur l’informatique recommande la création d’une nouvelle agence sur le logiciel qui de fait va se trouver dans les mains de l’INRIA.

La mission du CNRS est le maintien de toutes les disciplines au CNRS. Le CNRS va perdre les thématiques de la biologie et celles de l’informatique bien que la ministre revient périodiquement sur ses déclarations qui annonçaient ce découpage.

En refusant au CNRS un institut des sciences de l’environnement, restreint à « écologie et environnement », le ministère prépare la sortie de cette thématique vers le projet annoncé de consortium INRA CIRAD école d’Agro.

Il ne reste plus qu’à sceller le sort des SHS, pour qui le ministère prévoit, depuis longtemps, une affectation directe dans les universités.

Au CNRS, il restera seulement alors deux grands instituts, physique -mathématiques et celui de chimie.

Le montant forfaitaire du préciput est fixé pour 2008 à 11 % des aides attribuées par l’ANR

aux projets de recherche opérés dans l’établissement de recherche ou dans la fondation de recherche reconnue d’utilité publique financés au coût marginal.

L’ANR verse, par tiers, aux établissements bénéficiaires la part du préciput leur revenant sur trois ans, parallèlement au versement des aides aux porteurs de projets, dont la durée moyenne avoisine également trois ans.

L’ANR a versé 54,26 millions d’euros à des structures de recherche au titre du préciput en 2009. Les universités ont perçu 24,7 millions d’euros tandis que les organismes de recherche perçoivent 16,3 millions, les autres établissements d’enseignement supérieur 9,9 millions, les fondations 1,9 million d’euros et les hôpitaux 790 000 euros.

L’ANR publie sur son site internet les sommes perçues établissement par établissement.

Grenoble INP arrive en seizième position des établissements subventionnés avec 920 000 euros. Cette aide financière importante fait de notre établissement le 1er établissement école d’ingénieurs bénéficiant de l’ANR, ce qui est une nouvelle reconnaissance de la qualité de notre recherche.

Le préciput de l’ANR

Le préciput est un abondement versé à l’hébergeur des équipes de recherche dont les projets ont été retenus par l’ANR. Les sommes versées en 2009 se rapportent en réalité aux projets de l’année précédente. Le préciput a pour but d’encourager les établissements de recherche ou d’enseignement supérieur « à adopter une démarche de financement de la recherche sur projets ». Il doit contribuer « à l’émergence de projets scientifiques de haut niveau ». Il peut également être utilisé « pour financer de nouveaux équipements pour les laboratoires », selon l’ANR.

My Skin Type:
Actually very oily, but surpressed with BHA exfoliator. Results in generally ranging from very dry to normal/combo skin. Generally dehydrated, very sensitive, and acne prone.

Packaging:
Brown bottle made of glass with plastic droppers. While the brown bottle helps shields this antioxidant-enriched serum, the dropper is a bad idea. Every time you open the bottle to use it, the precious product will be exposed to light and air, rendering the antioxidant useless. Yes ladies, to maintain its efficacy, antioxidants shouldn’t be exposed to light and air!

Texture:
Watery. Hence the dropper.

My General Review:
This is the review for the old version of EL ANR. Estee Lauder (EL) has launched a new version called Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex, but I’ll still write the review for the old version anyway for an archive; maybe it’ll help if someone find this floating around eBay or something

Anyway, this serum is pretty popular. It’s been around for a long time. 20years or something?

As for me, I started using this product since I saw a tremendous  complexion improvement of a colleague of mine since she switched to EL. And she gives this serum a *very* high regard! So I jumped into the bandwagon and despite the high price tag, I didn’t regret it ever since! Especially when my skin is on the dry side. Because it’s moisturizing! Love the way it feels under my moisturizer. It absorbs quickly and gives me proper hydration, not oil production. I’m dry most of the time though, so oil is less of a concern.

I love the hydration so much because it makes my skin appear more plump. Like, healthier, smoother plump. Furthermore, it makes the gigantic pores on the sides of my nose appear smaller, smoother too! Few products can do this, so I really appreciate it

The downside, other than the not-so-optimal packaging, is the amount of antioxidants in this serum. This is supposed to be a moisturizing and antioxidant serum, but how come only a bit of antioxidants is placed here? It’s just my personal preference though. Maybe because I’m used to compare everything else to Paula’s Choice products. In this case, I compare this to Paula’s Choice Super Antioxidant Concentrate series, and EL really pale in comparison.

Solution? Well, for me on the morning I’ll only use PC AOC. For my night time regime, I use PC AOC first, then layer on several drops of EL ANR. So I get both benefits: antioxidant protection and smoothing action.

The good news is, EL ANR also put some calming action into this serum; like bisabolol and chamomile. I believe soothing your skin will make it stronger and healthier, so again, I really appreciate the addition

What Else You Need To Know:
Unlike other EL products, this serum is fragrance free! A big YAY from a sensitive-skinned girls for that!

EL offers a ‘Concentrated’ version of this serum, but that one is fragranced and is even MORE expensive! And from the ingredient list, I think they didn’t double the important ingredients. Le sigh for marketing hype! FutureDerm offers an analysis/comparison for these 2 products.

Widely available. Just visit your nearest Estee Lauder counters in department stores like SOGO or Metro.

Price:
I forgot the exact price, but if I remember correctly, Indonesia carry the 50ml bottle one, and it’s sold at above IDR1m. Freakin’ expensive.

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5. Antioxidants level may not be as high as I want it to be, but it’s still a great supplement that really works to hydrate and smooth out my skin. But at this price, the packaging should be better-thought.

My post below talks about not anticipating a move in a stock. Let the move develop – then jump.

Here’s a great example.  Coal prices begin to increase in the Summer months so this trade (ANR) is a nice setup.  It’s forming a pennant (or flag) and should break to the upside at some point. Can’t tell you when – might be this week or next month. So what do you do?  Do you jump in now and add on dips waiting?  Or do you set an alert above the breakout point?  There is no right or wrong answer.  It’s a matter of personal preference but if you get in now, just realize that your capital could be tied up in the stock while you wait for a break and you also risk overall market movements due to news, earnings, etc. so be certain to keep a stop in place…..just in case

In the wake of a poor first quarter report, iron ore producer Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE:CLF), formerly known as Cleveland-Cliffs, has tightened its belt and the belts of all its shareholders. The company’s chairman, president, and CEO said that “we have asked all of our stakeholders to make sacrifices that will better position Cliffs to weather the direst of economic scenarios, while at the same time positioning the Company to take advantage of possible opportunities when the environment improves.”

The sacrifices referred to include cutting the company’s quarterly dividend by 55%, from $0.0875 to $0.04; cutting board member, executive, and management pay by up to 10%; and suspending contributions to all company 401(k) accounts. The company expects to save a total of $15 million from the reductions to pay and 401(k) contributions, and $22 million from the dividend cut.

Cliffs will also offer 12 million new shares of common stock in a secondary offering underwritten by JP Morgan Securities and Merrill Lynch. The proceeds will be used for “general corporate purposes,” which might include ” funding certain capital expenditures, repayment of indebtedness or strategic transactions.” The stock offering increases the number of outstanding shares by about 10%. The underwriters have an over-allotment option of 1.8 million additional shares.

Less than a year ago, Cliffs was booming on the huge run-up in prices for iron ore, primarily from China. The bottom has fallen out of the market, and the company’s coal production is not big enough to carry the weight of the dividends, high salaries, etc. The company tried to bulk up by offering to buy Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR) last year, but that deal fell apart when analysts and shareholders balked at the huge drop in value as the global economy tanked. Now that Alpha has purchased Foundation Coal, Inc. (NYSE:FCL), its market cap is roughly equal to Cliffs’.

It almost goes without saying that Cliffs is taking a beating in the pre-market this morning. Shares are off around 10%, at $25.98. The company’s 52-week range is $11.80-$121.95.

StreetInsider.com recommends traders pay attention to the Market Vectors Coal ETF (KOL) in light of Alpha Natural Resources (ANR) sparking what Reuters calls a “wave of consolidation in the fragmented coal-mining industry.”

Alpha offered to buy Foundation Coal Holdings (FCL) for $1.5 billion, a 41% premium to Monday’s close. in an attempt to create the third-largest U.S. coal producer. The companies said the strategy was to benefit from an expected rebound in demand from steelmakers and power plants for coal.

StreetInsider says the ETF could be extremely volatile because it’s a stock for stock deal.
