Waterfalls are always a spectacle the world over. And quite, abokim waterfalls is not left out. It is located in Nigeria, close the Cameroonian border just on the northern part of Cross river state.  Its around Ikom town (well known for cocoa production), also in Cross river. The key component is a single hydrophilic membrane tube with millions of holes that attracts liquid rather than rejects it and excludes gases. The tube is closed at one end and enters the manifold of a trigger sprayer at the other. The liquid follows the path of least resistance and so up and out of the top of the tube, regardless of how the consumer is holding the container, letting the laws of physics work in the pump’s favour.

For as long as any part of the tube is in contact with the liquid, and whichever way the container is inverted, a constant spray will be maintained until the very last drop. Not only is it more practical, but it also saves significantly on waste, and for aerosols the use of compressed air means no harmful gases are released.

According to the inventor, with ‘Anyway’, a product manufacturer can choose the porosity and add characteristics to the tube depending on the nature and viscosity of the contents. The system can handle lotions, gels and foams. It is suitable for most household cleaning products and liquids and a vast majority of beauty products.

In theory the ‘Anyway’ tube will work even with viscous liquids such as sun creams and oils as long as the properties of the liquid and flow rates are understood. It is also a viable alternative – and considerably less expensive – than the ‘bag on valve’ technology manufacturers currently use.

More costly? Michael Pritchard disagrees, pointing out that his invention will reduce costs, particularly with aerosol cans.

Ducksauce can do it aNYway that you want to

Ducksauce is the much hyped collaboration between A-Trak and Armand Van Helden. Their mission is to bring back 90’s Disco House tweaked with the sounds of the 2000’s. They have been generating huge industry buzz as most DJ’s think that Disco and French house was the pinnacle of house music.

Check out the comments from other DJ’s in this teaser video. This type of buzz from a collaboration is unusual from DJ’s of totally different styles and eras. Even the guy giving me a haircut a month ago was talking about it.

Their first single “aNYway” has deep roots in the Disco and Soul songs of the 70’s and they pay tribute to that with this awesome musice video:

A-Trak and Armand Van Helden decided to put together a video to talk about the collaboration and their roots as Hip Hop DJ’s that moved to House Music. It is really interesting to hear them talk about the production process for house music and how difficult it can be.

I think this is a phenomenal collaboration: Armand Van Helden brings 15 years of experience making house music and A-Trak is one of the hottest up and coming hip hop DJ’s out there who seems to be transitioning to House and has greatly improved his production skills the past two years.

Since A-Trak brought up Stardust, I wanted to relive this great moment in house history when Thomas Bangalter, Alan Braxe and Benjamin Diamond churned out “Music Sounds Better With You” after they essentially improvised it during a live show. The song only took one day in the studio to make. They never collaborated again with Bangalter focusing his efforts on Daft Punk. Now I don’t think Ducksauce’s first song is at that level but I hope that they continue to find time to get to the studio together. I can only imagine their “collabos” as Van Helden would say will get better in the future. And now you know…

Her newest single is electronic-pop at its finest. The video itself is weird, but hey, it’s not a huge surprise that Lady Gaga’s video was going to be a little…”different.” If this doesn’t get overplayed in clubs and radio stations, I will re-enact the last 10 seconds of the video.

Armand’s still promoting the funk and for that we salute him. Archive aesthetic plus honey coated harmonies equals this years summer anthem- three months late. Maybe that could be the selling point. A funky summer house track to keep you warm during the winter months.

Meh, watdya’ expect, it was originally from Japan but less gruesome. Why gruesome, as I remembered it, the boy robot, Astroyboy, was made from limbs of a real human boy. Then again, I could be wrong because it might be Inspector Gadget.

I wanted to watch New Moon today but the local cinema isn’t showing it until next week. I don’t know why I want to watch but it may be the fact that it’s been on EVERY DAMN YOUTUBE AND TV!

I learned this weekend that when asked what she saw inside her own heart Mother Teresa  replied darkness.

This bit of information made me realize how human it is to feel that darkness at one point or another…yet what an example of light she continues to be.  I love her words in “Anyway.”

I led floor devotionals tonight and talked about the issue of drawing attention to yourself. When is this ok, when is it not, and when does it signal something is wrong with your heart? In my own experience, and what seems most logical to me, any time you intentionally create situations or circumstances where people pay you attention, unless you are in a role of leadership, you should do a quick heart-check and make sure intentions aren’t selfish. I think its easy and very natural for us to want to earn a good reputation, but its more impressive to the Father when we live humbly and quiety in service to others. When you consistently draw others’ attention to ourselves, many times its from a place of insecurity.

This isn’t to say you’ve done something wrong every time people are paying special attention to you. It just seems as if the need for acceptance and love may be the driving factor behind many attempts at getting people to listen or watch you.

This isn’t even half of what I just wrote, but since these journals are for class I’m just going to hit post anyway. Maybe I’ll expound on this issue later.
