Apple Cinema Display with Macbook ProWoke up from a really sweet dream today!

This is what my dream was about. I actually dreamt that someone delivered a Apple Cinema Display right to my work desk and replaced my current Samsung display with this hell of a machine.

You really can’t understand the kind of disappointment I experienced when I realise it was all a dream. I rmbr vividly in the dream I was marveling at the slick set up and I even told myself my Samsung Display can stay and act as my secondary screen. Hahahahahahahaha… So happy sia…

So when I woke up I went through my usual routine of staying up to date with Apple and I came across convincing rumors that the New iMacs along with new Mighty Mouse are coming out soon.

WooHoo… Christmas is coming… LOL

Το άρθρο υποστηρίζει πως η τελική σχεδίαση των καινούργιων iMac ολοκληρώθηκε τις προηγούμενες ημέρες και οι αρμόδιες κατασκευαστικές εταιρίες στην Ταϊβάν θα ξεκινήσουν άμεσα την παραγωγή. Οι πληροφορίες κάνουν λόγο για ακόμη πιο λεπτή εξωτερική σχεδίαση, υϊοθετώντας λεπτομέρειες που προέρχονται από τις πρόσφατες LED Cinema Display. Specualation about Apple and its products is a full-time job for some. If its not abut the Mac Tablet (or MediaPad), its the iPhone or its the laptops or the desktops. Hardly a day seems to go by without some new rumour or specualtion. Well, the latest one seems to be a revamp of the iMac range (hot on the heels of the possibility of Office for the iPhone – thought that’s technically a Microsoft announcement!).

AppleInsider, perhaps the most reliable of sources (having accurately predicted the cuts in Apple’s Laptop range), s now saying that the iMac range will be next. It was only in March that the iMac range was refreshed but AppleInsider sees autumn (Fall to our North American cousins) as a likely time for another refresh. Its rationale is that the profits from the iPhone (estimated as much as 60% on a 32GB iPhone 3GS) is helping Apple through the recession and made it possible to cut laptop price by 7 – 10%. It feels a similar price cut is on the cards for autumn. This would be a welcome move. How it will fit in with the rumoured announcement  of a iPhone-like Mac Tablet (MediaPad or whatever… who knows what it will be called if it ever sees the light of day and frankly, who cares as long it actually exists!) is another factor to take account of.

However, the speculation is that not only will the range get a price cut but that Apple will take the opportunity to introduce new features as well. What these new features will be no-one seems to know (at least nobody who is talking). So, for what its worth, here are my humble predictions:

1. Even slimmer design, similar to the 24-inch LED Cinema Display
2. Anti-glare screens, most likely LED but possibly OLED
3. SSD option on some models and an SD slot
4. Better graphics across the range, with the GeForce 9400M dropped in favour of faster models, perhaps with GDDR5 memory
5. Price cuts across the range with the 20″ coming in at £799 (a cut of 15%)
6. Faster CPU, perhaps iCore 7?

So, its certainly going to be an interesting time and whatever happens, Apple seems set for another fantastic year. Let it roll!

When it comes to monitors, bigger is always better right?  Although I love using my 13 inch MacBook, I do lust over a 24 inch iMac or *gasp* a 30 inch Apple Cinema Display.  That was all before I learned that NEC was coming out with a curved LCD in a gargantuan 43 inch size.

I have to imagine you’d be able to have four full Word documents side by side and then some with this monitor.  And of course, watching a movie would completely immerse you in it (with the right speakers).

All this technology comes at with an $8000 price tag.

Los Apple Cinema Display también “sufrieron” actualización. Los monitores manzanos se asemejan más a una iMac ahora, con una pantalla reflejante LED, con iSight, micrófono, bocinas y hasta varios conectores USB 2.0 de alta velocidad. Por cierto, son lo que se podría decir “exclusivos del MacBook” (Pro, Air…), si Mac Mini y Mac Pro, vayan a llorar a un rincón mientras consiguen adaptadores.

El diseño se me hace más bonito, más estilizado, más bonito, y más ecológico con una pantalla de retroiluminación LED lo que hace más eficiente la batería y más eficiente su reciclación. Apple decidió dejarle sólo 24″, que a diferencia de los antiguos Displays aun vigentes no alcanza tamaños colosales de hasta 30″. Otra novedad es el único cable utilizado para conectar la corriente, el USB autoalimentado junto con el conector de vídeo micro-DVI. Lo que se me hizo chulo fue este detalle y el de poner un MagSafe y 3 USB autoalimentados.

Como algunos ya sabéis, me he comprado un MacBook de los nuevos (con la configuración más alta que había en la Apple Store). Había pensado en un MacBook Pro, pero quería una pantalla no muy grande y, además, no es época de vacas gordas :-)

Con esta nueva adquisición, hay otros equipos que tengo que dar de baja. Así que pongo a la venta lo siguiente: ESTÁ TODO VENDIDO

VENDIDO MacBook Air con unidad CD/DVD externa por 1000€  VENDIDO

De 0.16 pulgadas de grosor en su parte delantera, 0,76 en la trasera y tan solo 1,5 kilos de peso. Pantalla de 13 pulgadas, un procesador Core 2 Duo a 1,8 GHZ, un disco duro de 80 Gb y una batería con 5 horas de autonomía. Tiene trackpad multitouch, un teclado retroiluminado y la cámara iSight incorporada.

El Air incluye WiFi 802.11n y Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Respecto de las conexiones, tras una pequeña compuerta revela un puerto USB 2.0, un puerto microDVI y una salida de audio. También incluyo la unidad óptica de CD/DVD que se vende aparte por casi 100€. ¡Ah!, y la funda de Tucano :-)

Finalmente i nuovi Cinema Display!!! Nessuno ci credeva più ed invece eccoli qua: retro-illuminati a LED ed efficientissimi nel lavoro. Interamente realizzato d’alluminio e di vetro, il nuovo LED Cinema Display si presenta con l’ormai famoso bordo “scuro” (marchio di fabbrica della nuova Apple), in un form-factor decisamente più sottile e ed elegante.

Nel retro sono presenti ben 3 porte USB 2.0, autoalimentate e intelligenti: se si collega una qualsiasi periferica (stampante, scanner, fotocamera etc.), questa si attiverà automaticamente. Il nuovo Cinema Display usufruisce della nuova Mini DisplayPort per collegarsi facilmente ai nuovi MacBook.

Sorpresa delle sorpese: Webcam iSight, microfono ed altoparlanti integrati!!! Con il MacBook collegato, si può ora tranquillamente stare in videochat (usufruendo dell’iSight) oppure ascoltare musica (dagli altoparlanti incorprati), come se si trattasse di un qualsiasi computer desktop.

Il supporto che regge il display è inclinabile a piacere, per permettere una visuale ottimale. Ciò che rende davvero speciale il LED Cinema Display sono le componenti altamente ecologiche: niente mercurio dei diodi LED, il vetro del display privo di arsenico, e i connettori sono privi di PVC (Polivinilcloruro) e BFR. Difatti grazie alla sua struttura di vetro e alluminio, potrà essere riciclato al 100 %, e in futuro i suoi componenti potranno essere riutilizzati per far nascere qualcosa di nuovo.

The option for the integrated 9400M or a beast 9600M GT Graphics Card is going to make this Macbook Pro a monster for games, and video & photo editing. Mini-DVI, Firewire 800, Superdrive, definitely a slam dunk for Apple. It starts at $1999 with a tricked out model at $2499 with the NVIDIA 9600M GT.

24″ Display, built-in iSight, Mini Display Port, $899. Great display

Macbook

Looks like Apple will continue to sell the white Macbook for $999. Nice low price, but not low enough in my opinion. The new Macbook looks great though, it’s a mini Macbook Pro. It’s got great specs and starts at $1299, with a top of the line model at $1599. What an amazing notebook.

Do as Hikki and YUI switch to Mac!

My favorite female singers, YUI and Utada Hikaru, are both using a Mac!

In her last PV we see Utada writing her song using a Mac. It’s certainly a “Macbook Pro” and the “Apple Cinema Display“.

For YUI, she received a “Macbook Air” for her 21th anniversary as a present!

She said it looked like “Shiroi koibit“.

Según LoopRumors Apple sacará un Cinema Display Híbrido, que serían táctiles multipunto al igual que se van a poder utulizar como los de toda la vida; con un ratón y teclado.

Además, se da prácticamente por sentado que los próximos Cinema Displays incluiran la camara iSight se serie.

Aclaramos de que esto sólo son rumores, y no qué no os hagaís falsas esperanzas.
