Back To Topic !

Also E-mailen the Mac Way

Browser (Safari)

Webseiten Programmieren (CODA, Rapidweaver)

Coda Mac (webpage programming)

Rapidweaver

RapidWeaver Mac Website Builder

µTorrent Mac

Transmission Mac

Rapidshare uploader

RSUploaderX Rapidshare uploader Mac

This is a quick guide on how to properly set up Gmail through IMAP with matching “System

This is a quick guide on how to properly set up Gmail through IMAP with matching “System” folders like Draft, Spam, Trash and Sent in Apple’s Mail Application. It will also show you how to hide unwanted “tag”-folders in the Folder/Account section in Mail.

Start the Mail Application

Open Preferences [CMD + ,]

Click on the Account tab

Click the + Sign to add an account

Type your “Full name”

Type your Email Address, e.g. yourname@gmail.com

Type your password

Click create

If you are running on Snow Leopard everything is now set up correctly for you.

Matching mail boxes / folders with Gmail’s folders

In order to let Apple’s Mail application match the Spam, Draft, Sent and Trash folders you need to tell Mail which folders to use. To do this, select the Gmail folder you want to use as your Spam, Draft, Sent or Trash folder and click the menu Mailbox -> Use this mailbox as -> Spam / Draft / Sent / Junk mail.

Duplicated folders and mail

GMail automatically create IMAP folders for your different tags, and you might not want those folders show up in Mail, nevermind that it seems that Mail downloads the tagged mail as unique mails and thereby duplicates them.

Log on to your Gmail account

Click on Settings

Click on the Labs tab

Enable the “Advanced IMAP Controls” plugin

Click Save changes

Click on Settings

Click on the Labels tab

Uncheck the Labels that you don’t want to show in Mail
