A clean aquarium is the best habitat for all kinds of fish or other living organisms like crabs for example. A clean aquarium means your fish and plants will live for a longer time-saving you time and allowing you to enjoy watching them grow. The best way to keep an aquarium clean is to have all the proper equipment and use it often to clean with. It is also a mater of know how. There are a few things that every aquarium owner must know to clean an aquarium and maintain it in the best possible way.

People who don’t know much about aquariums might use harsh household cleaners to clean their aquariums. This would have detrimental for the small ecosystem you ought to be striving to create. Good tips for keeping your aquarium clean is to keep the water supply clean by cleaning the water pump. To do so one should always keep the filtration system in mind. A good clean filter is what the life of your aquariums ecosystem depend on. Cleaning the filter too often might also have a negative impact on your aquariums life. It is therefore important to maintain a balance, and to clean your aquariums filter only when needed or specified by the filters manufacturer. Many aquariums experts recommend that the ornaments as well as the glass ought to be cleaned at least once every two weeks. Cleaning the aquarium ornaments and glass prevents algae from building up inside. If the aquarium is made from plastic materials then cleaning should be performed on smaller time intervals, perhaps once a week. When performing maintenance operations to your aquarium, you should always keep in mind a few things to ensure that things are going smoothly inside your aquarium. Check the air pump and see if it is running ok. It is imperative that there is enough oxygen for the fish but also to allow for proper flow of the water.

Another thing that will ensure longer life for your aquarium is ensuring that the water is changed often. This way your fish and plants will live longer and your aquarium will definitely look better. One more thing that you should do to maintain a clean aquarium is to clean, or at least rinse the gravel that sit on the bottom of your aquarium. This process entails that you remove all contents of the aquarium including the fish. Therefore, its viability depends highly on how many as well as what kind of fish you have. Keeping a clean aquarium does not only entail cleaning it every week or two weeks. You should also consider acquiring a water purifier. There are many kinds of purifiers out there for different types of aquariums as well as sizes. When you use a water purifier to clean the water contents of your fish tank you should always let it sit and mix with the water to allow it to dissolve. If you are new to aquariums, always remember to read the instructions of every product used. Be careful; keep a schedule for maintenance operations and treat your aquarium with love and it will eventually flourish.

Discus fishes are large cichlids that have been appreciated by aquarists since the 1920’s and there are several different Discus cichlids to choose among. The Discus derives its name from its body shape. Discus fish are shy and peaceful aquarium inhabitants. Discus fish come originally from the Amazon river, this water is soft acidic and has a brownish color. The water generally has a temperature between 26 and 31 C ( 79 to 88 F ) and a PH range of 5.5 to 6. Discus fish at Wildwoods are kept in good sized tanks that have individual filter systems, U.V´s and additional heaters. All our fish are kept in a percentage of R.O. Discus fish can be nervous and shy. They do better with low light in the aquarium, along with plenty of plants and other aquarium furnishings for security. Discus Fish Secrets is the ultimate guide to discus fish care, breeding and keeping them healthy. The book will help you to breed healthiest Discus fish, full of bright colors and amazing confidence. Discus fish fry will grow at different rates. Now the logistical nightmare begins! Discus fish will form a “pecking order” in the tank with the most dominant fish leading the group. Usually, the commanding discus fish is the largest, and will be the first in line to eat and pair off. Discus fish are some of the most beautiful and impressive freshwater tropical fish kept in the aquarium hobby. They are also some of the most delicate and hard to keep. Discus fish and items related to the Discus hobby are front and center in this exciting new line of Discus aquarium fish designs. Looking for a unique way to complement your interest in the Discus fish hobby? Discus fish will form a “pecking order” with the most dominate fish leading the group. The dominate discus fish is usually the largest, the first to eat and the first to pair off. Discus fish are considered. Discus fish are very sensitive creatures, if you want to keep long lasting discus fish you need to be aware of there preferred living conditions and feeding and breeding habits. Discus fish and a lot of African cichlids eat a lot of blue green algae in the wild. Spirulina is a blue green algae, and has a special protein called Phycocyanin not found in another algae or terrestrial plants. Discus Fish Discus fish are the most desirable variety of aquarium fish among different Cichlids. They are presently described as King of aquarium fishes. Placing a Discus Fish tank next to a doorway is a big mistake. Discus fish make great aquarium inhabitants and they can be combined with other species in the habitat, the best choices would be the tetras or the uaru species. Generally discus fish are very peaceful creatures; they are a bit sensitive to stress and a disturbing environment.

Aqua Forest Aquarium is a retail aquarium store located in the San Francisco Bay area that specializes in the “nature aquarium style concept.” The design creates living artwork through naturalization and strategically choosing and placing rock, wood, living freshwater vegetation, and fish.

Certainly, the focus is around the aquatic vegetation, which is accented with pieces of driftwood and/or rock. Species of fish complement the aquatic scene and seem to be as painstakingly chosen, as are the plants, rock, and wood. The fish are often schooling species, and the different species seemingly complement and contrast each other.

The style is reminiscent not of bonsai but penjing, the Chinese precursor to bonsai. Penjing refers to a potted landscape or tray landscape. Certainly, these aquariums are aquatic landscapes in glass trays. In addition, these aquariums, with their unique style, surely illustrate the fragility and wonder of aquatic environments. Here are some of my favorites below.
