ARA MINA joins other Kapampangan artists in a concert to gather support for the campaign to save the trees in Pampanga.

This developed after DENR secretary Lito Atienza has given permit to DPWH to cut down trees along the highway from Apalit to San Fernando, Pampanga to give way for the road’s widening project.

A number of Kapampangan artists painted the trunks of the trees with a human figure with arms stretched out and around the tree trunk. But due to financial burden, they ran out of paints ans asks other artists to join their cause.

That’s the time local bands including actress Ara Mina spearheaded a concert for a cause and they generated more than one thousand signatures supporting the campaign.

Manny Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao is again trying his luck in movies. He is set to make an action movie entitled “Sa Ngalan Ng Busabos” which is to be produced by Golden Lion Films that is owned by premiere director Carlo J. Caparas and Donna Villa.

Included in the cast are Jackie Rice, Pen Medina, joel Torre and Gina Pareño. Raports said that Manny has already started shooting the movie and already done some fight scenes with Medina.

Manny’s last film was in 2008 with the movie “Anak Ng Kumander” with sexy stars Ara Mina and Valerie Concepcion. Manny was also romantically linked to Ara Mina after the movie but the pound-for-pound king denied such issue.

ARA MINA is said to be eyeing for an electoral post come 2010. There are camps that are trying to convince Ara Mina to run for councilor or even the congressional post for Quezon City’s fourth district.

This has been confirmed by Ara in an interview with ABS-CBN news.

“Humupa na ang ulan ngayon. Marami ang nage-encourage sa akin na tumakbo kasi nga 2001 pa lang bumababa na ako. So kilala na ako ng mga tao doon, so sabi ko let’s see ano naman kahit sinasabi nilang kailangan kumikilos ka na ngayon for me hindi siguro ganoon kailangan 100% kang desididong tumakbo,” she said.

Ara Mina is from a clan of politicians, her grandfather former Quezon City Mayor Mel Mathay and her father Ismael “Chuck” Mathay. So if ever she decides to enter the political arena, she is assured of the support of the political machineries of her family.

“Ang dad ko kahit anong gawin ko susuportahan niya ako all throughout hindi nila maiaano ‘yon kasi it runs in the blood sa family. Kasi sa generation namin parang nakikita nila yung brother ko na si Chris and ako either lang sa aming dalawa ang pwedeng tumakbo sa generation,” she said.

But Ara admitted she has to think a hundred times before making a decision on whether to follow her clan’s political footsteps or to stay in showbusiness for a while.

Ayun, kaya hanggang ngayon ay masasabi kong chismoso pa rin ako sa showbiz. Lagi nga ako bumibisita sa Philippine Entertainment Portal eh para makasagap ng latest news sa showbiz. Lagi ko ring hinahanap ang entertainment section sa mga broadsheets or tabloids. Inaabangan ko din ang Chika Minute at Star Patrol kapag nakakapanood ako ng balita. Nanonood din ako ng Startalk, Entertainment Live, Showbiz Central, The Buzz, at Ricky Lo Exclusives. Haha, ang chismoso ko noh?

Maaari kaya akong mag-host ng isang entertainment show balang araw? Haha. Di ko pinapangarap yun. Hehe.

Anyway, medyo matagal-tagal ko ng gustong i-post ito. Well, siyempre, tungkol sa mga latest chismis sa Philippine Showbiz. Walang pikunan ha. Opinyon/topak ko lamang.

Naging maingay ang muntik ng paglipad ng Songbird mula Kapuso papuntang Kapamilya. Akala ko ay magpapaalam na siya. Pero dahil feeling raw niya ay dineny siya ng Kapamilya, eh nagdesisyon ito na manatili sa Kapuso. Hindi ko hinangaan ang desisyon niyang iyon. Paano kung di siya dineny ng Kapamilya? Edi lilipad na nga siyang tuluyan? Feeling ko eh parang no choice na lang siya kaya nanatili siya sa Kapuso.

Pero kung natuloy ang kanyang paglipad, ano ang mangyayari sa kanya? Well, parang medyo may future naman siya doon, in fairness. Eh ano na ang nangyari kay Angel Locsin? Sayang. Kung siya sana ang gumanap na MariMar, eh mas sikat siya ngayon… wala ang spotlight kay Marian Rivera. By the way, disappointed ako sa ending ng MariMar.

Swerte talaga itong si Marian Rivera. Dahil sa MariMar, eh dumami ang commercials. At may album pa siya. Well, sa totoo lang ay hindi ako nagagalingan sa kanyang pagsayaw. Pero at least, she tried, kaysa kay Angel na di man lang nagtry. Ayaw daw niyang sumayaw at umawit. Pero ayan tuloy, pinapakanta (lip synch) siya sa ASAP. At tila mas gusto yata ng ABS si Valerie.

Bumalik na sa GMA si Angelika Dela Cruz. No comment. Wala lang. (Sana hindi na lang bumalik)

Si Angelica Jones naman ay umeksena uli sa “Shall We Dance”. No comment din. Pati na sa kanyang Mommy Beth.

Si Cristine Reyes ay hindi malaman kung lilipat na din ba sa Kapamilya. Okay lang yan, samahan na niya ang Ate Ara niya doon. Hahaha. Wala lang.

Mamaya ay magsisimula na ang Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita. Nandun sina Yasmien Kurdi, Marvin Agustin, at Angelika Dela Cruz (saan ka pa? Wahahaha!). Mabuti na lang at nandun si Ms. Dina Bonnevie, at least baka panoorin ko pa ang soap na yun.

Pero medyo nagsasaw na ako sa mga series, mabuti na lang at gumaganda na ang programs sa QTV. Madalas doon na lang ako nanonood kapag gabi, lalo na tuwing may American Idol. Addict ako sa show na yan ngayon. Sana lang eh galingan na ni Ramiele Malubay para naman magtagal pa siya sa contest.

Oh well, masyado na yata akong bad. Haha. Wala na ako masyadong maisip na chismis sa ngayon. Mag-iipon uli ako tapos magpopost uli ako sa mga susunod na Topak. Hehehe. Walang pikunan!

  ay ang mga kapatid ni Manny na sina Rogelio at Bobby Pacquiao, at ang   
  executive producer ay ang misis niyang si Jinkee Pacquiao.              
  Kuwento ito ng isang rebelde, si Kumander Idel (Manny) na galit sa mga  
  drug lord, jueteng lord at mga tiwaling pulitiko.                       
  Sa umpisa pa lang ng pelikula ay may dramatic moment na si Pacquiao     
  nang magkasunod na mamatay ang kanyang magulang (Dante Rivero at Perla  
  Bautista).                                                              
  Emote na emote na si Manny sa mga eksena niya pero hindi kami matangay  
  sa pagdadrama niya dahil mas sanay kaming makita siyang nakangiti at    
  pa­nay ang tawa.                                                        
  Itsura ng mga lumang pelikula nu’ng ’80s ang pinanonood namin. Naaliw   
  kami nu’ng mag-ala-Rambo si Idel matapos matigok ang nanay at tatay     
  niya.                                                                   
  Nang sugurin siya ng mga siga para palayasin siya sa bahay niya, galit  
  na dayalog niya sa mga ito: “Muslim ang tatay ko, Bisaya ang nanay ko.  
  Dito na ako lumaki at tumigas ang buto, tapos, palalayasin n’yo ako     
  rito?!”                                                                 
  Siyempre, siya ang bida, kaya sa liit niyang ‘yon ay nagawa niyang

  Nang mapanood namin ang movie ay saka namin ‘naunawaan’ ang da­yalog    
  niyang ‘yon. Tinalian pala ng lubid sa leeg ang mga magnanakaw ng       
  kalabaw at saka binigti, na ang humihila ng lubid ay ‘yung mga kalabaw! 
  Alam na nga natin ang kakatwang pagsasalita at punto ni Manny, ewan     
  kung bakit kilometric ang mga matulaing linya niya sa pelikula at ang   
  hilig niyang mag-monologue.                                             
  Hindi na namin iisa-isahin dito ang mga da­yalog ni Pacman, na seryoso  
  ang delivery niya, pero parang comedy ang da­ting kaya panay ang tawa   
  namin.                                                                  
  Ang isang hindi namin makalimutan ay nu’ng lusubin na ng mga sundalo    
  (sa pamumuno ng kapa­tid ni Manny na si Rogelio Pacquiao) ang kuta nina 
  Kumander Idel at pasigaw niyang inutusan ang mga tauhan niya ng,        
  “Rigrop!!!” (na hindi namin na-get nu’ng una, ‘yun pala ang ibig niyang 
  sabihin ay ‘regroup!’).                                                 
  Pamatay rin ‘yung linya ng leading lady niyang si Ara Mina na, “May     
  isang bulaklak na hindi nasasam­yo ang bango ng isang bubuyog. Matagal  
  nang naghihintay ang bulaklak na ‘yon. Hahayaan mo ba itong malanta?”   
  Pagbitaw ni Ara ng mga salitang ‘yon ay big­la siyang nilapitan ng      
  topless na si Manny at buong ningning siyang nilaplap nito nang halik!  
  How sweet, di ba?!                                                      
  Sa gandang ‘yon ng gumaganap na TV reporter na si Ara ay hindi namin    
  mapagtanto kung bakit siya pa ang patay na patay sa karakter ni Manny,  
  na para bang guwapung-guwapo siya rito at hunk na hunk ang dating nito  
  sa kanya.                                                               
  May ‘highlight’ pa si Ara na nagsisisigaw siya at nagda-drama sa gitna  
  ng crossfire ng mga rebelde at sundalo.                                 
  By this time ay napagtanto na siguro ng Pambansang Kamao kung tamang    
  desisyon ba ang paggastos niya ng P30M sa pelikulang ito para lang     
  mapagbigyan ang pangarap niyang maging isang action star.
