Before I Doubt my Memories, My Memories Doubt Me

“I know you,” the wind dragen said. “We met… when you first arrived.” He set a hand on his chest and said, “Denair, remember?”

Aram blinked and shook his head, not wanting to bring those memories to the surface. They came anyway, of course. He did remember the other dragen. “You… saved me,” Aram whispered.

“I don’t know about that. I just gave you the same advice I got when I arrived,” Denair replied. He looked up at Poppy and explained, “The demons would use those who had particular gifts for entertainment or other such things. Those who had… no useful skills…” he trailed off, uncertain about how to finish.

“They killed them,” Aram said softly. “They made them lay so many eggs… so very many… that – that they died and them they ate them. Sometimes they ate them while they were still alive. They screamed a lot then.” Aram put a hand to his ear, as if to block out the cries he’d heard from the demon’s victims.

Suddenly strong arms were around them. “It does get better,” a soft voice said into his ear. “It takes a long time, but it does get better. You’re safe now. You’re home and you’re safe.”

Aram realized he was shaking now. “Thanks,” he said, his voice hardly audible.

Denair nodded, stepping back. “If you ever want to talk. I’m at the Icewind Caverns. You have only to call. We can talk over the summoning stone or I can come here.”

“Thanks,” Aram repeated. His single wing flapped and he tilted his head curiously. “Why are you living with ice dragens?”

Denair shrugged. “When I called my family to tell them that I’d survived, they… didn’t want me back. Too many bad memories, I guess.” He looked ready to say more but stopped himself. “Anyway, I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who got out of there. That seems to be the one good thing that comes of this rogue earth dragen. Even if he doesn’t mean to every time he goes to the demon realm, the dragens held there as slaves see him. They gain the hope of escape.”

“That would be one reason not to just go ahead and seal the gate completely with a revised spell,” Jesin said softly. “How many dragens are they holding?”

“I don’t know,” Aram whispered. “There were a lot. More when we first got there. When they… grew tired of a particular slave…” he trailed off, shaking the dark thoughts away.

“There were a lot,” Denair repeated. “Some… almost happy with their fate. Others… hopeless, not seeing a way out.”

“Not happy,” Aram corrected. “Comfortable. They made do. They didn’t want to be there but… it was better than the alternative. If you pleased the masters, they’d let you live a little longer.”

“Some never got comfortable,” Denair said. “They constantly tried to escape – whatever the punishment.”

“We all had to watch the punishment too. We didn’t understand a word the demons were saying but we knew what the dragen had done to earn their ire. A lot of dragens lost hope, just seeing the price for a failed escape attempt,” Aram added softly.

“How could you… survive that?” Elder Bricen asked. “I would think you’d start… wishing for death.”

“Some did,” Denair replied. “That’s what my folks expected of me. That… They thought I should have killed myself rather than serve the demons. But I couldn’t give up hope. I just couldn’t. I had to keep on believing that there was a way out. They’d brought us there; there had to be a way back.”

Aram nodded. He understood the feeling. He’d had it too. The stubborn will to gain his freedom. No matter how many times he was punished for insolence or trying to sneak away into the strange world that the demons called home. He couldn’t simply give in. He toed the line when necessary but he never gave up.

“That’s so horrible,” Elder Paesha murmured. “Your own family.”

Denair shook his head decisively and said, “Myro’s my family now. Myro, Grandfather Ryden and Saira… and the little one on the way. They’re my family. It’s a strange family… but it works. It’s a different home, but I’ve made it my own now. I’m glad my parents and brother and sister made it through the war relatively unscathed. But they’ve severed all ties with me. There’s no point in fretting it.”

Aram smiled suddenly. He realized how very lucky he was. His parents and brother and sister had not only accepted him back into the family with open arms, they’d gone to great lengths to make him comfortable. Mommy hadn’t even returned to her home caverns yet, allowing her sub-elder to handle the reigns of leadership. If his family had been changed by his disappearance, it had been for the better. The loss had drawn them closer together. Denair’s family seemed to have gone in the opposite direction.

We Are Like Blue Flowers, Trying to Live

Aram was dreaming, he knew. Only in his dreams was he safe. Even after escaping the demons, life outside his mind was difficult at best. For the most part it was dangerous. Apart from the demons, the wilds held their own dangers. There were wild oni and other monsters that would love to feast on his soul or his body. There were plants that did the same to any who came too close.

Five months in the wilderness had taught him to keep moving. It had taught him not to trust even the most benign-looking area. What seemed a placid pool might turn out to be a trap laid by a beast or plant of the wilds. Nothing was what it seemed.

In his dreams he was safe though. His wings were whole and strong and he soared over the dangers that lay in wait on the ground. He nestled amidst the blue flowers that dotted the rocky cliffs of his father’s home. His older sister or brother were always nearby to watch him, to protect him.

He could feel himself rising out of the dream and he moaned, trying to stay safe in his mind. He couldn’t stop his body’s needs though, so against his will, Aram woke. He woke, as usual, in pain.

But I Want to Keep Believing that our Wishes Will Become Wings

It had always been too much to hope for, especially after the gate had been sealed. Any rescue mission would have been suicide, they had been told all those years ago. He’d given his son up for lost then. He’d lived for his remaining children. He and Shyrala had lived for each other and sealed their lost son away in their hearts as they had allowed him to be seal physically into another plane.

However, a small part of him had always wished that things could be different – that somehow they could have their child returned to the, if not unharmed at least alive. Now, though it meant dire things for all dragen-kind, it seemed his wish had been granted. His son was going to be returned to him.

Now he feared, as he flew with his mate and two older children, that the sweet little child he’d lost had been irrevocably changed by the beings that had taken him. He feared what he would find when they saw their son again. Would he know them? Would he have retained any of the innocence that had been in his soul when he was taken? He could only pray the boy of his memories was not entirely different from the wounded youngster found by the world gate sentinels.

As he flew his thoughts drifted back to that singular day; that had begun so like any other and had ended with such tragedy.

W tym roku również zawitaliśmy na sosnowieckie deptaki. Kombinat z pewnością posiada swój indywidualny urok. Prócz ciekawych raili można się również natknąć na okazałe i opuszczone archaiczne budowle..fascynujące i za razem nieco przerażające. Nie mam pojęcia czy to co widziałem to stary dworzec, fabryka czy może jakiś urząd, aczkolwiek budził pełen respekt.
Tę akcję streetowa zaplanowaliśmy w zeszłym tygodniu. Miejscówka została wytropiona przez Tenczysława i znajduje się w zabytkowym parku Schön. Jakiś czas temu otrzymałem fotki obstikla od wyżej wspomnianego kolegi i stwierdziłem, iż może to być bardzo dobra przystawka przed sezonem zimowym. Oczywiście zdjęcia te nie oddawały w pełni rozmiarów i kątów nachylenia poręczy, ale o tym później.
Obowiązkami organizacyjnymi podzieliłem się z Wojarem (któremu przy okazji dziękuję!). Piotr miał ogarnąć śnieg oraz transport białego towaru. Furę ogarnął z powodzeniem. Pierwszy polski pick-up był do naszej pełnej dyspozycji..

..na śniegu się trochę wyłożył, aczkolwiek nie z własnej winy..hehe..niestety po raz kolejny okazało się, iż w środkowej europie bardziej liczy się półlitrowy “gest” niż konsekwentna obietnica..długo to jeszcze potrwa???
W każdym bądź razie trzy rolby śniegu zostały nam “łaskawie” wypożyczone..

W tym momencie poślizg czasowy wynosił już jakieś 3h..normalne, ale to nie koniec kłopotów:]

Oczywiście nie chodzi o rozładunek, gdyż ten poszedł sprawnie i bez większych komplikacji..

Dropik konstruowany przez Bushmana również nie sprawiał kłopotów..

Koras także zachowywał się kulturalnie jak na przyszłego małżonka przystało..

Pewnie wasze podekscytowanie sięgnęło zenitu (!?), tak więc od razu tłumaczę, iż zawinił agregat prądotwórczy. Skurwysynek przeszedł przegląd techniczny oraz wszystkie niezbędne czyszczenia..może trochę zbyt późno, ale dobrze, że w ogóle do tego doszło..i mimo tych zabiegów uprzykrzał nam życie..?!

Teraz dzwonię do Trzyny..powiedział, że ma, ale na jutro..nie do przyjęcia!

Pełen pozytyw w głowach..cały misterny plan poszedł w pizdu..?!

Aczkolwiek jak się zwykło mówić..”Nadzieja umiera OSTATNIA!”..

W sumie to już dawno nikt nas tak nie wkurwił jak ten pierd. agregat. Nie zabrakło wiele by podzielił los poprzedniego i stałby się wspaniałą futbolówką za 600 zł. Oczywiście przyczyna jego niepowodzeń była bardzo banalna..nieodłączny paradoks rzeczy martwych..!

Po zjedzeniu pysznego włoskiego placka..

Wojar..to na prawdę Ty?

Jak już wspominałem rurka na zdjęciach wyglądał nieco inaczej. Przede wszystkim wydawała się trochę krótsza, jednak nie to nas zmartwiło najbardziej. Niestety posiadała ona jakąś dziwną wadę, mianowicie spowalniała poślizg w swojej środkowej części..tajemna zależność?!
Mimo to jibbowało się całkiem spontanicznie. Nie wykonaliśmy zbyt wielu sztuczek, ale liczy się sam fakt osiągnięcia zamierzonego celu oraz czysta frajda z jazdy po trawniku zaścielonym tonami liści.
Już niedługo będzie można obejrzeć krótki edit zmontowany przez RoadkillProductions.ownlog.com (prawda?:).

Świece są również luźne w tym umyśle..

Volt tegnap annyi vicces téma, de a legjobban Alsza táskájában lapuló kis érdekesség vitt mindent..:D:D olyan 7felé talán léptünk le sétálgatni, egymásba karolva; utoljára BabuCycussal sétáltam így talán még 16évesen..:D találkoztunk egy husággal rohangáló bácsival, aki egyfolytában tüzet akart kérni..xD aztán elindultunk haza, teljesen ellenkező irányba.. aztán msn-en tovább folyt a csevegés..:D szeretlek piciAlsza..:) várom a folytatást(yn)

Ma úgy volt, tali Cappíh-val Pesten, de szegény nem tudott volna eljönni.. nem baj, lesz még alkalom, amúgy is tegnap jöttem rá, hogy az IC, amivel Keletibe mentem volna helyjegy köteles; szóval érdekes lett volna, ha ma kapásból egy 6000res bírsággal indítom a napot..:’D

Ma átaludtam a délelőttöt és fél3kor keltem fel..:) addigra már az áram is visszajött az utcába.. rejtvényeztem kicsit, aztán feljöttem netre..

Azt hiszem azonban, h msn-re nem kellett vna ma felmennem.. azaz.. nem kellett volna azt tennem, amit tettem.. de ez van; megtörtént, kiírtam a véleményem és a furcsa az, h Ő meg kiakadt.. vagy nem tudom.. pedig aki itt kiakadhat, az csak én vagyok.. már bánom.. ha lesz, helyrerakom.. szeretem.. nem akartam megbántani..:(

ION and BGP have signed an agreement to create a joint venture that will provide land seismic products worldwide. The joint venture will align ION’s innovative land equipment business with BGP’s expertise and experience in land seismic operations to create a new enterprise with the resources, technology and experience required to provide state-of-the-art products and services on a global basis.

            ION will significantly enhance its financial position through total cash proceeds of $175 million from BGP. BGP will receive a 51% interest in the joint venture and a 16.66% interest in ION. Prior to the joint venture closing, ION will also receive up to $40 million of bridge financing arranged by BGP. At the transaction’s closing, ION will refinance and reduce its long-term debt and receive an expanded replacement revolving line of credit. Overall, after closing ION expects to have over $100 million in liquidity from cash and spare capacity on its revolving line of credit.

            ION CEO Bob Peebler commented: “Our Board of Directors and senior leadership team are delighted to be forging this transformative partnership with BGP. ION and BGP have been doing business together for more than two decades, with each company contributing to the other’s growth and success. This transaction will create not only a new global leader in land seismic equipment capable of seizing high-value opportunities in the fastest-growing geophysical markets, but also a financially stronger ION through a significant de-leveraging of the company.”

            Wang Tiejun, President of BGP, added: “As an ION customer for many years, BGP has always been impressed with ION’s vision and products, which have proven to be capable of improving the operational efficiency and the safety and environmental effectiveness of land seismic acquisition. By joining forces through our planned joint venture, we believe we can combine BGP’s operational knowledge and experience and emerging land seismic product portfolio with ION’s innovative products and culture to become the leading land seismic technology company of the 21st century. It is the intention of both ION and BGP that our joint venture will provide products and field support services to all land seismic contractors around the world, not just to BGP. The sale of products and the provision of field-support services to both in-house BGP crews and third-party land seismic contractors is a proven industry model that will benefit the broader land contractor community and the hundreds of seismic crews that operate around the world.”

            The transaction is subject to the completion of regulatory reviews and receipt of applicable approvals in the US and the People’s Republic of China, which are expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2010. Prior to closing, ION and BGP will file a joint voluntary notice of the transaction for review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), a government inter-agency committee chaired by the Secretary of the Treasury.

            The terms of the agreement have been unanimously approved by BGP and by ION’s Board of Directors and is not subject to approval by ION’s shareholders. ION’s current bank group has amended ION’s credit facility to the extent necessary to allow the transactions to proceed.

            The joint venture will provide ION with preferred access to the world’s largest land seismic contractor, currently operating 110 seismic crews around the world. In addition to improved economies of scope and scale and enhanced supply-chain efficiencies, the joint venture will enable joint engineering teams to develop innovative, market-leading land recording systems, 3C (full-wave) sensors and vibroseis products.

Key Aspects of the Joint Venture

• ION will contribute its Land Imaging Systems assets and intellectual property to the joint venture, including its ARAM, Aries^®, Scorpion^®, and FireFly^® product lines as well as its VectorSeis^® land sensor and vibroseis businesses, but excluding ION’s Sensor geophone business. All other ION businesses – including ION’s Marine Imaging Systems, Concept Systems, Data Management Solutions, GXT Imaging Solutions, Integrated Seismic Solutions (ISS) and BasinSPAN^TM seismic data libraries – will be retained by ION and will not become part of the land joint venture.
• BGP will contribute land seismic equipment assets and intellectual property to the joint venture, including an innovative land recording system currently under development, its vibroseis business, and various complementary land seismic equipment businesses. BGP’s geophone business, including associated BGP geophone joint ventures with other parties, will be excluded.
• The joint venture will be governed by a board of directors consisting of representatives from both owners. The joint venture’s board will appoint management, approve strategic and operating plans, and govern the direction and performance of the company.
• After taking into account the value of tangible and intangible assets contributed to the joint venture by both parties, BGP’s cash investment to be paid to ION with respect to the joint venture will be $108.5 million.

A new dungeon is out in the gPotato version of Dragonica! News from the gPotato website, as usual copy and pasted (;]):

A long time ago, the Myst Elves fought against the evil forces of Elga. They created an ultimate weapon built from the quintessence of their powers which they called Aram.

It helped them win the war but it brought mass destruction to friend or foe, Aram eliminated them all.

When the war was over, the remaining elves somehow summoned a spell to silence Aram.

They decided to imprison Aram in a far off place for everyone’s safety.

The elves brought Aram somewhere North of God’s Sanctuary hoping they’d seen the last of the almighty Golem and returned to their normal lives.

Until one day…

The Golem awoke!

Mutisha, an evil sorcerer with powers so intense that they drove fear into the hearts of people at the mere mention of his name, found a way to control Aram and release him from his prison!

Together, they are sure to bring death and destruction to the world of Dragotaka.

The Dragon Lord  has once again called for heroes to stop this evil duo from unleashing havoc on the good people of Dragotaka not to mention the ever present danger that Paris has brought to the land.

This mission is for some of the bravest among you  (Level 50+)

Your mission starts in Mika’s tribe and village in the Pinecone Hill Map (north west) (NPC Kundaran). It starts a chain quest to get the quest to be able to get in the dungeon.

The Dungeon of Kundara is accessible at North of God’s Sanctuary.
