There are many aspects of being married that I am currently enjoying. Having been running things on

There are many aspects of being married that I am currently enjoying. Having been running things on my own for about seven years, maintaining celibacy for over four years, and playing both mom and dad to my little ones are some of the things that I am happy to give up. By having a partner who is supportive, taking on the world so much easier. And, boy, do I wanna take on the world!!

So many women feel this way… I can’t be the only one. You may know the feeling or have heard it in confidence from your spouse: there is more that I want to accomplish in life than just being a wife and a mother. Although being a wife and a mother are powerful roles in their own right, some of us still feel the need to have something that is just ours, not shared by the husband or the kids. Some women take time out with the “girls” while others, like myself, look for more ways create revenue and wealth in ways that will lessen the burden of being a working wife and mom. I know, you’re thinking about some “get-rich-quick” scheme. Fortunately, I am not going to be forcing my readers to join some multi-level marketing scheme that only yields money when more people join. What I am saying is that if there were some way to do what you love to do without taking valuable time from the relationships that matter the most (God, husband, the kids, myself, then anyone else), wouldn’t you want to do it?

I don’t have all the answers, but I do know this: it is possible to become who you want to be. If I never obtain the level of notoriety that I have dreamed of, I believe that I will still be proud of the fact that I tried to attain it and never gave up. I have always been a great writer and speaker, and, in fact, English was my favorite subject in school next to art and math. Communications and visual/media arts as well as tax law are huge passions of mine. I’m wired in a really weird way if tax law excites me…

My husband is the same way. It is crazy how we both push each other toward what makes us come alive. I told my husband the other day that I did not want to see him doing something just because there was “okay” money involved; I want to see him reach for what makes him come alive. He desires the same thing for me. When you have someone like this who pushes your toward your dreams, then you can feel empowered to take on the world.

So, if you’re married, relight some fires by discussing what makes the both of you happy. If you’re single, keep reaching for the things that excite you. Go for the promotion. Travel the world. Experience new opportunities. Most importantly, give back to someone who may not be able to experience the world the way that you can. This does not mean monetary gifts all the time. Take someone to lunch, mentor someone. Always be ready to pass the torch to someone else.

To my husband I would like to say: Thank you for being in my corner and loving me enough to allow me to take on the world.

Welcome to the blog!

To be honest, following a random person may not be so interesting especially when you do not know them and especially when a sex tape with a celebrity has not been (and will not be) released in the world of exposé journalism. So, I would like for you, the reader, to take me as I am and to find something about my thoughts, my journey, my life — me! – that is relatable. I would love to hear your thoughts and perspectives on any topic I address, and I would love for you to ask me to talk about certain topics. Think of this blog as my letting you in to my little world of life.

In this blog, you will see me progress into entrepreneurship as I detail my journey into fulfilling my dreams. You will also get a good look into what it is like to be part of a wonderful blended family. Because of this family dynamic, I will also cover single life, single-parenthood, custody challenges, and other issues pertaining to dealing with co-parents, marriage, and children. As a Christian woman, I will also touch on spiritual topics that will be designed to encourage anyone of any faith (or lack thereof). Health, beauty, fitness, finance, politics, relationships, and entertainment will also be discussed in the context of developing one’s inner character rather than exploiting or gossiping about others.

I have experienced a lot in my short time of being on this Earth (do you think that I would actually admit to getting old??), and I would love the opportunity to share my experiences, failures, and accomplishments in order to help others to make empowering decisions that will help in overcoming obstacles and to avoid any unnecessary pitfalls along the way.

If you’re down for the journey, then follow me as I take you on a bumpy ride through my life and my future.
