I needed to get out of my unit yesterday felt like the walls were closing in. As I was contemplating what to do my mobile rang and I found a play date for the evening.

So off I went to Chinatown for a few drinks and dinner. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for quite a while and last night was the perfect opportunity.

Wagaya was the destination the food was tasty and relatively cheap in my opinion however the novelty for me was the computerised menu. Yes my inner nerd came out so addictive pressing the screen. I loved the fact I could touch the screen scroll through the menu to order drinks and of course food, which would turn up 5-10 mins later.

If you want to try something different and are quite partial to Japanese than this is the place to go… seriously just go and play with the touch screens menu, you’ll be amused to no end.

I am considering buying a dongle from Midas on a pay as you go basis & wondered if anyone could advise me as to how satisfactory they are. I would want to send & receive emails & use Skype or possibly Messenger. Midas have told me that with pay as you go I would be able to use the internet for about 45 minutes a day. Also does anyone know what happens if I cannot get reception where I live which is in the campo behind Torrox Pueblo as I would have to buy the dongle upfront for 85 euros (plus postage of 8 euros!).

In case anyone is unaware, the Migas fiesta is being held in Torrox Pueblo this Sunday 20th December.
The Ayuntamiento has organized a series of events. The composer José Robles will be responsible for reading the proclamation that will give the kick-off for the celebrations.
Along with the traditional tasting scheduled for 1330 hours at El Llano de la Almazara (Top Car Park, by the olive oil mill) , there will also be a bazaar with handicrafts. The La plaza de la Almedina (Lower Car Park) will host a street parade of the various verdiales groups with performances by

• Grupo de Fandangos de Güi de El Morche,
• Grupo de Coros y Danzas de Lidia y Lucía,
• la Panda de Verdiales La Torre y Cútar,
• Grupo de Baile Azabachen
• and the DJs Miguel and Carlos.

Does anyone out there bank with Cajamar Bank. We obtained a credit card in May this year from them and have recently been asked to pay 61 euro by 23rd December, to become a ’shareholder’ in the bank if we want to continue to hold the credit card. We have now cancelled the card, as we rarely use it. We thought this was very strange ! Comments would be appreciated. maundtotalconcepts at yahoo dot co dot uk.

Sunday 20th December, Pena Caballista, Calle Pontil, Live Spanish Music from Encuentros, from 11am in the morning throughout the day, Also we have Migas being cooked out in the street for free, We would love to see you all there for a great day, celebrating the Fiesta de Migas 2009. Julie & Paco.

On Thursday evening starting at around 6pm, there is a Christmas Market in the top Car Park of Torrox Pueblo. I believe all the local schools are partaking and monies raised go to charity.

The meeting Fri. 11 December was an even greater fiasco than usual. The beginning Spanish students turned up thinking it was a test of their knowledge. I went in case there was free beer and the Argentinean guy in the audience wanted to get a dog licence.
A guy from Malaga, missing several teeth, which is not an aid to good diction, read from his laptop.
After 1/2 hour on the lack of democracy in south America, as the speaker was from there, the students went to their class and me and the Argentinean guy went to the bar.

I am planning to produce an evening of Poetry, to be held sometime in late January, in the Salon de los Actos, Cómpeta.
Several ladies have come forward but no gentlemen have so far volunteered to read.
