Ohhhh… Wait a minute, if what we hear is true, then the music director for the Kamal Haasan KS Ravikumar movie, to be produced by Udhayanithi Stalin for the Red Giant could very well be A R Rahman and not Harris Jayaraj as many have expected.

This could be a huge news for both , the music lovers and the Universal Hero devotees, to see these two legends join hands.

Further the heroine spot seems to be bringing a lot of twists, first people expected Tamanaah to play the lady lead then Nayanthara and then Trisha, but now it seems like KSR is pretty happy with Nayan’s work in Aadhavan and decided to rope her in.

It could be note worthy to mention that Kamal actually wanted to play the second heroine role in Vettaiyadu  Villaiyadu itself but it was canceled as the dates did not match. Will they finally be singing duets now ?

To close out the year, SPACs are pumping out deals one after another. However, as of late, some blank checks have not fared as well, and the NASDAQ and OTC Bulletin Board could become increasingly populated with blank checks’ targets that are elbowed from the AMEX. SPACupdate.com will follow up soon with our picks for the best—and worst—blank check mergers of 2009.  Two Harbors Investment Corp. (AMEX: TWO), Kennedy-Wilson Inc. (AMEX: KWIC), Ultimate Escapes Inc. (AMEX: UEI), ARMOUR Residential REIT Inc. (ARR), Atlas Acquisition Co. (AMEX: AXG), Overture Acquisition Co. (AMEX: NLX), BPW Acquisition Co. (AMEX: BPW), and United Refining Energy (AMEX: URX) all have key developments taking place right now and into year-end.

Two real estate deals brought public through SPACs wasted no time putting capital to use. Two Harbors Investment Corp. (AMEX: TWO) just put 95% of its capital to use, completing last week a deal for nearly $500 million to purchase residential mortgage backed securities and related investments. Kennedy-Wilson Inc. (AMEX: KWIC) spent a little less, and set up a joint venture with private equity firm Siguler Guff to buy up to $108 million in distressed condominium projects nationwide.

One SPAC that completed a merger with a real estate angle drifted off course and ran aground; Ultimate Escapes Inc. (AMEX: UEI) was notified by AMEX officials that the company, brought public by the Secure America Acquisition blank check, will be de-listed for failing to maintain mandatory shareholder minimums. If the de-listing goes through, the vacation rental property company will trade on the OTCBB.

ARMOUR Residential REIT Inc. (ARR) joined Ultimate Escapes, the company reported late Friday. The REIT was given a de-listing notification and has applied to trade on the NASDAQ, according to ARMOUR’s statement. ARMOUR was brought public by Enterprise Acquisition Co.

Atlas Acquisition Co. (AMEX: AXG) has an $840 million deal to provide a Santa Barbara, Calif., company with a capital injection. Koosharem Corp., a HR and staffing services firm, which operates Select Staffing, is looking to retire $200 million in debt. Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services lowered Koosharem Corp.’s corporate credit rating to CCC from B-. Koosharem is carrying about $540 million in debt, the September 2009 S&P report stated. The SPAC already wants to trade its shares for outstanding warrants—instead of buying them back, it is offering slightly less than one share for every 12 warrants.

Overture Acquisition Co. (AMEX: NLX) is working to bring a subsidiary of Jefferson National Life Insurance Co. public, the SPAC announced. The target will contribute to buybacks of close to 25% of Overture’s shares to get its deal done; the SPAC looks to overcome a 30% redemption threshold and get its merger completed by Jan. 30, 2010. Overture aims to reinsure a portion of Jefferson National Life’s annuity policies by forming an entity in Bermuda.

Both Atlas and Overture have investment vehicles controlled by Israel Englander with big stakes in their warrants; the Englander funds have substantial stakes in both SPACs, so it will be in the investor’s interest that—should he not outright vote for the AXG and NLX deals—his stakes are at least sold to affiliates of each SPAC.

BPW Acquisition Co. (AMEX: BPW) is structuring a unique deal with women’s clothing retailer Talbots (NYSE: TLB) in which the SPAC will merge into the NYSE-listed entity while it simultaneously uses capital to oust its majority equity holder. Under the terms of the deal, BPW will merge into Talbots and the retailer will simultaneously accept a $200 million credit facility from GE Capital to buy out majority shareholder AEON Inc. The SPAC is looking to trade for half of its outstanding warrants with shares of the company post-merger on a 10-for-1 basis.

United Refining Energy (AMEX: URX) saw its deal with Chaparral Energy terminated by shareholders who refused to sell shares back to the SPAC; there currently is no timetable for its liquidation.

These old Nescafe ads triggered off some good memories of advertisements from the pre-cable days. We used to look forward to the ads more than the actual programs. I remember, when my sister was about 1 or 2 years old, she was a very fussy eater. My mom had a very tough time trying to get her to open her mouth for food. Of the many many techniques devised by my parents to distract her, the most effective was advertisements. My mom used to shoveful food in her mouth while she was totally absorbed in the ad blissfully oblivious of everything around here. Because, we couldn’t wait for ad breaks to feed her, my dad recorded a video casette of advertisements on our VCR!

I’ve posted some of my favorite ads here. Get ready to smile!

I’ll start with my most favorite one! I think everyone who’s seen this ad, loves the jingle. There is an extended version of this ad, which I was unable to find.

I remember this complan ad’s jingle much better in Tamil where Ayesha Takia says “naan valargirene, mummy.” This was one of those super famous like “kalakare chandru!”

This ad is evergreen for 2 reasons, the ARR’s jingle and the oh-so-yummy Arvind Swamy. It is after this ad that Mani Ratnam is supposed to have picked both ARR and Arvind Swamy for Roja. There is a newer version of this ad with Andrea and Radio Mirchi Shiva which doesn’t have the charm of the original.

I remember this old ad that used to be used around pongal! I watched this ad today after many many years but I remember the exact sequence including the surprised expression on the mother’s face when she sees the son I just found out that the jingle for this ad has been done by ARR. This jingle has been sung by Malaysia Vasudevan and if you listen closely, it sounds like Then Kizhakku Seemayila from Kizhakku Seemayile!

This ad I think was the first one in the series of Dad-daughter wedding gift ones. And I also think this is the sweetest.

De acordo com a análise desenvolvida mensalmente pela ILM Advisory, especialista em assessoria a entidades públicas e privadas ligadas ao mercado turístico, o turismo nacional atravessa um ciclo de quebra contínua desde o início do ano.

A análise de desempenho turístico elaborada pela ILM no início do mês de Junho para o I-ON-TOURISM, conclui que “em todas as rubricas analisadas no último trimestre, apenas a venda dos Pastéis de Belém regista uma subida significativa na procura. O aumento registado nas vendas deste produto atingiu as 3.255 unidades em Março de 2009, face a igual período do ano anterior”. No seu conjunto foram analisados o tráfego aéreo nos principais aeroportos, movimento de cruzeiros nos portos de Lisboa e da Madeira, índices hoteleiros, número de voltas nos campos de golfe situados na região de Lisboa e número de visitantes em museus e palácios, registando-se na maioria das variáveis um claro decréscimo de actividade.

A análise do tráfego aéreo nos quatro principais aeroportos nacionais (Porto, Lisboa, Faro e Funchal) conclui que no mês de Março de 2009 se registou uma descida de 369.730 passageiros. Neste domínio salienta-se o aumento da dependência dos principais aeroportos nacionais face a turistas oriundos da União Europeia, com percentagens entre 75% e 95%.

Em relação ao movimento dos cruzeiros o estudo citado revela um decréscimo no número de embarcações em Março último, face a período homólogo do ano anterior. Na hotelaria a descida verificada em idêntico período, no número total de dormidas registadas a nível nacional, atinge os 22,3 %. Os hotéis de cinco estrelas registaram a maior quebra (-24,7%) e o pior desempenho (38,8%). Curiosamente o golfe registou em Março de 2009 um aumento de 11,8% nas receitas por volta, apesar da diminuição de voltas em 15.704. A visita de museus e palácios registou também um aumento de 8% no total de visitantes em Março de 2009, face a Março de 2008, sendo o Palácio de Sintra o mais visitado em ambos os meses.

De acordo com Andrew Coutts, CEO da ILM Advisory, “esta situação de quebra contínua no desempenho turístico nacional, espelha a preferência dos turistas por destinos mais perto dos seus locais de origem. Com a recuperação da economia, espera-se que esta dependência venha a alterar-se, assistindo-se a um incremento no número das viagens de longo curso”.

Para realizar o estudo descrito a ILM recorreu a dados fornecidos pela ANA Aeroportos e Aeroportos da Madeira, Associação de Turismo de Lisboa, Instituto dos Museus e da Conservação, Turismo de Portugal, IGESPAR, Administração do Porto de Lisboa, Administração dos Portos da Região Autónoma da Madeira, Fortaleza de Sagres – Ministério da Cultura, Pastéis de Belém, Castelo de São Jorge – EGEAC, Convento de Cristo e Parques de Sintra, entidades a quem agradece a informação disponibilizada.

Finally, sanity is being restored, or at least an effort is being made to do so, in the 54th Filmfare Awards. I was so glad to see movies like Rock On, OLLO and MMJ winning, and movies like RNBDJ and Dostana taking a backseat. Although the nominations were a little fuzzy[some categories had 5 nominations and some had 6, just to please a few people I guess], but given the limited scope of the nominations, most of the awards were well deserved.

Let me start with the Lifetime Achievment Award section. Bhanu Athaiya was a very good choice, especially because costume designers have never really been given their due. In fact, the Best Costume Design category was introduced so late, in 1994, only after seeing what Manish Malhotra’s costume did to Urmila Matondkar; from a demure girl next door he turned her into a sex symbol overnight. Back to Bhanu, she won the Oscar for Gandhi[1982] and that’s been her greatest achievement till date. But considering her work in Bollywood, she did a good job in Lagaan, Swades,1942ALS, Chandni and Razia Sultan. Her list of work shows her predilection and brilliance for period dramas where she has a fantastic sense of color, fabric and designing.
Om Puri being awarded this, ahead of Naseeruddin Shah, that was a bit of a disappointment. I think they should have been awarded together at least. These two giants of the arthouse cinema in the 1980’s did some terrific work. They have not been given enough credit, but this award is probably a way of doing so.

Coming to the Critics Award, Shahana Goswami was deserving of it. Her work in Rock On was awesome, her raw talent and the spontaneous expressions shone through very well. But at the same time, Manjot Singh for OLLO was not a very good choice in my opinion. In fact, Paresh Rawal and Abhay Deol deserved it more than Manjot. And outside ofOLLO, Paresh Rawal for MMJ or Naseer for A Wednesday would have been a much better choice. Nishikant Kamat forMMJ was again a good pick, but I don’t understand this Special Jury Mention for Prateik Babbar and Purab Kohli. What does this award mean? And why Prateik Babbar?? For slouching on the couch, being untidy, and having the foresight that Sushant Modi[Ayaz Khan] is not the right guy for his sis?? And Purab Kohli! He had nothing to lose in Rock On, he was just caught in-between Arjun Rampal and Farhan Akhtar’s ego clash. When they called the band off, he happily joined his dad’s business; when the band was reinstated he started driving around in the SUV once more. He was happy either ways and did not help further the cause of the story.

Talking about stories, Best Story for Rock On was a little surprising. Lots of films in 2008 had amazing stories to tell, like Aamir, A Wednesday, MMJ. I kept cosoling myself that Dostana and Ghajini did not win it. Best Screenplay was awarded to MMJ and Best Dialogues to OLLO and I had no complains with it.

In the techincal awards section, two awards that I didn’t agree at all are Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction. I thought OLLO was shot on location, so where was the Production Design. And the costumes looked like everyday stuff, jogging suits, sneakers, waist-coats, casual wear. In fact, Jodha-Akbar deserved both these awards, for the elaborate sets and the intricate jewellery and costumes. I would like it if someone can explain this to me.

I was happy with all other awards, like Best Cinematography and Sound Design for Rock On, Best Editing went toMMJ, it could have gone to A Wednesday or Aamir too[except for the dragged last 20 mins]; and I cared less for Best Choregraphy, Best Action and Best Visual Effects where the winners were Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, Ghajini andLovestory 2050, respectively.

I was totally ok with the debut award for male, being shared by both Farhan Akhtar and Imran Khan; similarly the female debut award should have been shared by Asin and Anushka Sharma, instead Asin took it home.

Arjun Rampal for Best Supporting Actor was good, but Kangana Ranaut for Best Supporting Actress was unexpected and undeserved. Shahana Goswami for Rock On or  Ratna Pathak for JTYJN would have been a much better choice. The problem with Kangana’s performance is that, she is unidimensional and has no range. Give her such a role, and 9 out of 10 times, she will just sleep-walk through it like in Life…In A Metro or Gangster or Woh Lamhe.

Music awards were doled out pretty judiciously. Sukhwinder Singh for Haule Haule and Shreya Ghosal for Teri Orewere really good choices. For the award of Best Music Director, I am sure it must have been a close fight betweenShankar-Ehsaan-Loy who produced some great score for Rock On and ARR who was also competing against himself with 3 nominations. But, ARR winning for JTYJN did not go down well, I shall consider this as an award for all the good work Rahman did in 2008, i.e., Jodha-Akbar and Ghajini included. And ARR for Best Background score of Jodha Akbar was good news. Regarding the RD Burman award, not sure how this is rewarded, but I think Amit Trivedishould have been awarded. Finally, the lyrics award for Javed Akhtar was also fine for his simple and meaningful words in Jashn-e-bahara.

Talking now about the mainstream awards, no complains about the Best Director and Best Movie. Ashutosh Gowariker did a great deal of research and a lot of hardwork went into Jodha Akbar. There was nobody more deserving than him, in the category. I would like to contest the Best Actor and Best Actress, though. Taking for granted that its more of a popular vote, Hrithik and Priyanka still did not deserve it; they may have won but they were not the best. In fact, newbie Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai did a better job in RNBDJ and Jodha Akbar, repectively. Even if it was popular vote, then Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai should have won.

All said and done, I think the awards were balanced out pretty well. I would any day accept these results than watchRNBDJ/Ghajini/Dostana take away awards and accolades. I would like to see some transparency in the entire process, though. The system should change, at least introduce a jury for popular award and give 50-50 weightage to public votes as well as jury members votes. That way, there will be more clarity in the process.

At the end of the day, good cinema won. At least the awards will help further the cause of independent cinema and meaningful work, and be appreciative and motivational for film-makers who want to tell us new and different stories. And I hope this trend will stay, not just prove to be an abberation. Perhaps, haule-haule se hawa lagti hai …

It was a good weekend nearing by and we guys were planning for a big party and a music show. One of my friend was flying to US and the next day we had to go to Mahabalipuram to watch the legend A.R.Rahman’s concert organized by MARG Foundation. As usual we went to the airport on Saturday night and had good fun.

The time was 2.30 in the morning and I urged my friends to start soon as I had office on Sunday. Back home, few watching some program, browsing and I went to my bed weary…. A disturbing sound woke up the next day and I was shouting at my friend asking him for the time. He said it’s half an hour for 1pm. Oh  …  my gosh… office… manager… 

Was blank for few minutes, called my manger and told him that I’m on off and then went back to sleep. My friends were getting ready for the show, and of course I was the last one. As per our plan we were supposed to start to the destination by 2 PM, as it was 45 Kms from Chennai and the tickets for the show had mentioned that we have to be there before 6.30 PM else we cant get inside the show. 

By the time we started it was 4 PM and slowly we traveled across Adyar to pick up one of my friend. As we reached the place, suddenly one of them asked me where are the tickets? Err..Err…sorry guys I forgot, left them in home was my reply…. panic again. Every one got irritated, few started shouting at me. One of my friend’s mom and her cousin sister had come from Chidambaram and they were not able to do anything other than keeping mum. Then we called upon one of our friend from the room, got the tickets and started towards Mahabalipuram. By the time we neared Mahabalipuram, it was 6.15. We were not able to see any hoarding, lightings nor the sound of music. 

One of them in car dialed my other friends who started earlier to confirm the place and gosh……. It was another 45 kms from Mahabalipuram. What to do? We could have skipped it but we were great fans of ARR, moreover we had crossed half the way.  

We went, crossed many cars, buses, roads, hectic traffic at one place, no way to move around and finally reached the place and it was nearly 7.30 PM. It was very near to Pondicherry. As we reached we could hear a few songs….. We were 16 of us who went for the show and half of them were little earlier before us. We missed them and didn’t have time to look for them as the show had started. It was a huge gathering; thank god there were no showers. 

We had booked the 500 rupees ticket and when we went to that area there were a few thousand people occupied, since we were late we had no other option other than standing. We stood for some time and one of my friend said we can go to the 3000 Rs stand which is free and we had a few chairs also. Then slowly we all 16 gathered together. 

By the time the show was picking up and all were on the edge of the seat, a few dancing, shouting etc.. suddenly it stopped. The stage was covered with a few priests, father and a Muslim man, all were praying and were busy with their slogans. The owner of MARG, followed by the managers and the organizers occupied the rest of the stage. 

Each of them started marketing about MARG, how it started, what they do etc etc. When he was half way through, one fourth of the crowd dispersed followed by half of our group. They didn’t like the event and there was nothing till then. We didn’t’ bother to go as we wanted to watch the full event as we came to know that there are a few more performances from ARR.                                                          

After a few minutes everything was over and then the show started with AR Rehman giving a cheque of 1 crore rupees to Sakthi foundation which Marg had sponsored. Once that was over Fun began.It started with Blaaze and Benny coming up with Taxi Taxi from Chakkarakati, one of ARR’s youth song. Then it was time for Chitra to give us a couple of melodies. Followed by ARR with some classical Hindi songs along with Hariharan. 

Back to beat, for a few mins , yeah the whole crowd enjoyed to the core, it was none other than Sivamani alias Drums Mani with his extraordinary performance. Our hero ARR came out with the everloving Mustafa Mustafa and Antha Arabic Kadal Oram(Bombay), all the crowd were on their toes… from kids to grandma’s , all dancing with candles , shouting,etc. Followed by the two was ARR’s favourite religious song from Jodha Akbar…As the time went we thought the show concluded when he began to sing Jai Ho!. But with a big applause from the crowd he finished with Vande Martam! By 10.45 the show was over, we all, who came late to the show, just enjoyed to the core.                                                                                                                                                                                                    

The show was a cool, good marketing event by MARG, who are coming up with some apartments ,flats etc over there . A good promotional event for music lovers but for the rest, they were unhappy as they had to travel such a long distance.

Came late night to Chennai, had our dinner in one of the 24hours restaurant, … back home, Monday morning ,work, office…..huh…. what a life…:-(

Vaknar före 5 denna söndags morgon… så det kommer bli ett tidigt pass på gymmet efter en minifrukost och stark kaffe. Har haft en “spooky” känsla under hela den här helgen.. olika händelser och situationer jag upplever eller observerar som ger mig den där konstiga magkänslan och funderingar.. egentligen inget nytt kan jag seja..  men det känns som att lufte går ur en för en stund .. får se till å reda ut mitt eget lilla spöke under dagen och få ut allt ludd i skallen, så kanske man ser i lite klarare perspektiv Kanske jag får till att sätta ord på detta senare i bloggen eller på annat sätt…

Mymlan ville denna vecka att vi skulle blogga om kroppen… och därför tänker jag göra detta nu.. för jag får ju börja med att säga att det är min hjärna.. min cytohjärna som totalt hade glömt bort att jag skulle göra detta.. den där cytohjärnan som gör att man glömmer hälften av det man tänkt att man ska göra..

Glömmer saker.. glömmer ord.. fast inte det där som är urviktigt.. som läkartider och behandlingstider.. de glömmer man inte.. men jag kan glömma ord.. som jag ska skriva i bloggen… och då har jag maken som bollplank.. och det kan vara vanliga normala ord som man använder dagligen.. och det kan bli fruktansvärt frustrerande.. Det kanske inte låter så farligt.. men det är hemskt.. att glömma helt vanliga ord.. och jag kommer inte på ordet.. tänk er själva.. ni sitter och bloggar och så är plötsligt ett ord bara borta ur hjärnan.. man försöker på alla sätt komma ihåg det.. och till slut finns ingen annan råd än att fråga den älskade maken om råd… han blir nästan lite fnissig att jag glömmer såna där vanliga vardagliga ord… men han hjälper mig ändå..

Dessutom så fryser jag om huvudet just nu.. inget hår som skyddar och värmer mitt huvud… men nu ska det börja växa ut igen.. och jag bara längtar..

Om vi sen fortsätter från den där hjärnan som går på halvfart neråt mot fötterna.. så kommer vi till de där två som män och bebisar gillar… brösten… jag har varit enbröstad sedan den 14 augusti 2006… men nu ska jag bli hel igen… det där att vara amputerad.. för det är faktiskt det man är.. när de har tagit bort en kroppsdel.. tänker inte folk på.. att vara amputerad är ofta när man saknar ett ben eller en arm.. men man tänker inte på brösten då.. men de är också en form av amputation när man blir av med bröstet… för det är en kroppsdel.. man tar bort… och så ska man lära sig att leva utan bröstet.. vilket kan vara lika svårt som om man tagit bort ett ben eller en arm.. man måste lära sig att leva med detta… för mäns blickar faller ofta på kvinnans decotage.. och om där då bara finns en.. då ser man att de tittar än mer… även om jag inte är storbystad.. så saknar jag mitt bröst.. fast nu.. nu ska jag bli hel igen..

Vi fortsätter vår resa neråt i min kropp.. eller rättare sagt.. vi får göra en liten avstickare upp mot vänster nyckelben.. där det sticker ut en liten rund knöl.. detta är min lilla port-a-cath som syns.. en liten plastdosa.. som de sticker i när jag får cytostatika och som gör att jag kan få medicinen utan att mina blodkärl i armen tar stryk… för cytostatikan är kärlretande.. och jag har inte lust att mina kärl ska bli hårda och ha lätt för att spricka.. när det finns saker som underlättar både för kärlen och för mig… jag älskar min port..

Så kommer vi då till magen.. detta som kvinnor gärna inte vill ha.. men som man kan få.. speciellt om man har fött barn.. då får man en sån där vacker bebismage.. fast det ligger inte någon liten bebis där… men magen har man… vilket är lite konstigt… men denna kommer på mig att bli ett nytt bröst.. magen min flyttas alltså bara två våningar upp.. jag får ett nytt bröst.. och får en platt mage på köpet.. fast jag får också en ny navel… jag älskar min navel.. man kan gömma småsaker i den.. och jag hoppas att min nya navel kommer att se likadan ut som den jag har nu… inuti min mage är det lite si och så.. det är ju så att cytostatikan är duktig på att se till att man får förstoppning… och genom att jag även går på morfin så blir förstoppningen än värre… så jag pratar med min mage.. jag hotar den med droppar… laxoberaldroppar.. för att få igång magen.. bara detta hot gör att magen faktiskt sköter sig ett par dagar… sen är det dags igen… och så håller vi på…

Ryggen då.. det är ju där jag har tre av mina “kompisar”.. de där små knölarna som de upptäckte i mars.. de där små som betyder att min cancer har spritt sig.. att jag är kroniskt sjuk i cancer.. att jag aldrig blir frisk… men jag har sagt det en gång.. och jag säger det igen.. jag ska hoppa fallskärm när jag fyller 90.. om de så är det sista jag gör på den här jorden.. innan jag går ut genom grinden…

Den fjärde och sista kompisen sitter i bäckenet..

Så har vi då armar och ben… Benen är två relativt bra fungerade spiror… och jag kan ju ta mig fram bra mycket bättre nu… sen jag fick min rollator… Jag knallar på… med neuropatin som gör att det kliar och lite bortdomningar i fötterna.. så ibland känns det som om de inte är med… fast de är det.. eller när det känns som att de sover.. den där kliandet och stickandet… så har jag det dygnet runt… och så även i fingrarna och händerna… men det kommer ju att bli bättre nu när jag slutat med idegrans dekokten..

Annars är min kropp full av diverse ärr.. jag och sonen räknade en dag.. och kom fram till följande resultat:
1 ärr i bakhuvudet efter hundbett
1 ärr i pannan sen jag gick in i en skylt
2 ärr ovanför vänster armhålla för insättning gånger 2 av port-a-cath…
3 ärr ovanför nyckelbenet för insättning, utplockning och insättning igen av port-a-cath.
1 ärr modell större där bröst och lymfkörtlar suttit..
1 ärr på höger ben för bortplockandet av en fettknöl.
1 ärr på utsidan av vänster överarm för bortplockande av en fettknöl.
1 ärr på undersidan av vänster överarm för bortplockande av en fettknöl.

Nu kommer min lista på ärr att bli längre… eftersom jag ska få ett nytt bröst.. så uppdatering lär komma…

Jag är ändå himla nöjd med min kropp.. fast alla skavanker och annat som finns där.. så fungerar den tillfredsställande och utan den hade jag inte varit den jag är idag…

Jag tänker alltså finns jag till!

Yesterday we(25 of us) have been to the live concert(Jai Ho) of A.R.Rahman at Marg Swarnabhoomi at ECR , chennai.  We had a great time over there. The Music started at around 7.30 pm and went on till 11.00 pm. Around 3 hours of music, shouting, dancing….really we had a gr8 time. The program started with one of my most favorite song…”Jaage hain  (ore kana)” from Guru movie and ended with the song “JAI HO & Vande mataram”.

The stage decoration and arrangements were wonderful. Especially the visual effects for each song was awesome. The dance performances were also good. I almost lost my breath with my favorite sivamani’s solo performance. And we cannot say this is a well organized event. We felt that little bit care should have been taken. The program started 1.30 hrs late.  And when coming to the songs played..most of the songs were hindi songs. The whole crowd was little bit disappointed on this. Anyways…we loved the show and music.

In someway music is related to GOD..and so Rahman is.."GOD of Music"

Around 100 km from chennai , around 300 buses , thousands of cars, thousands of bikes, around 50000 ppl towards one man and thats Rahman. I can proudly say he is “GOD of MUSIC”. Rahman rocks…..and thanks for giving us wonderful evening and for adding few more unforgettable moments of my life.

Ärr är något som dom flesta av oss har på kroppen, och vissa finns där som inte syns – i hjärtat. Många skäms för sina ärr och tycker att dom är fula, men jag tycker att det är något vacker som visar att man har levt.

Jag har ärr
♥ på näsan. Det har funnits där väldigt länge, ingen kommer riktigt ihåg var det kommer ifrån. Kanske min första cykeltur, kanske från när jag ramlat.
♥ på låret. Jag var på konsert i Tyskland med min pojkvän. Hans kompisar spelade, och mitt i gick vi och några andra av deras kompisar upp på scenen. Där stod vi ett tag och dansade, och när vi skulle gå ner igen råkade någon knuffa in mig i kanten på en högtalare.
♥ på knät. Dehär måste vara det fjantigaste ärret jag har, för det kommer från när jag råkade gå in i en rosbuske.
♥ på smalbenet. Vi hade en liten plan utanför min mellanstadieskola där det ofta spelades fotboll. En gång missade en tjej med fotbollsskor bollen och träffade istället rätt på mitt smalben.

♥ Sen finns det såklart ärr i hjärtat också, från dumma ord och krossade drömmar. Men jag nöjer mig såhär.

In spite of me being a hard core Ilayarajaa fan, i must confess ARR is also close to my heart. The first reason being amazing music, I cant ignore the other reason that he is an Young Tamil Personality. He is inspiring and influenzing music lovers all over the world for the last 15 plus years.

Från min barndom, jag har med mig några stycken ärr i mina ben, och några i mina armar, (jag ramlade ned, jag ramlade ens från en motorcykel)  så jag har haft problem att använda kjolar, men nudags jag gör det ganska ofta, jag tipsar här hur jag gömma mina synliga ärr: Använd BAS! ja, bas samma man använder för ansikter, men måste du gå och kolla perfekt match till din hudfärg, för det kan vara lite annorlunda från ditt ansikte (ansikte får mer solstråler än kroppen)

  Tips för en bra ton: (det gäller för tatuering, ärr och små åderbråck ):

• Rengöra huden, (duscha)
• Applicera din dagcreme och låt den torka in ordentligt. Förutom att återfukta så skyddar dagcremen huden och hjälper att huden bli inte torr. 
• Efter 15min eller när hudcremen är torr, applicera man en primer grundar, Primer ersätter inte foundation, utan jämnar snarare ut och förbereder vägen för den. Primer ger en perfekt bas till din foundation och gör att makeupen håller sig fräsch längre.  Jag använder MAC concealer/ bas, applicera inte så mycket, bara för att jämnar ytan. Låt det torka. 1.-
• Nu använder  vi en foundation: välj en för din hudtyp:  1.- Om du har acne, använd en med mineraler, som huden kan andas och som innehåller ZINC, för det hjälper mot acné/2.- Om du har fet hy: använd foundation med mycket puder; /3.- Om du har torr hy: använd INTE foundation med puder, men flyttande, de kommer för särskilda typ av hy.
• Om det behövs, man kan använda en gång till lite extra concealer  för jämnar resultatet.
• For tatuering: det behövs ganska stark concealer för att täcka tatuering, men det finns en concelaer som är bara för att täcka tatuering; beromt Kat Von D (tatuering artist) har utformat det. Kolla här:

The Man. The Music. The Magic.

I happened to watch this amazing video recently, from a friend’s fav videos list in orkut.

A truly commendable performance from the participants. I appreciate them with all my heart. When I finished watching this video I had goosebumps !!

I really went mad and wrote a mail to a few freinds Immediatly. The mail read,

ARR has really gone places. I am truly inspired looking at this video. ARR rocks.. Little would have he expected while composing this song, that the whole world will dance for this tune.

I would totally agree to the fact that Jai Ho may not be ARR’s best and that the huge success of Slumdog Millinaire (and Jai Ho) may be partly because of the circumstances. But this only means that hardwork and pure genius will be rewarded at sometime. .in some form.. by someone.. for something. Lets face it.. Argentina.. Least would have I expected the penetration of anything Indian in Argentina (sincerely no offences meant here, Argentina is truly rich in tradition and a beautiful country, but not so known for Indians and Indian stuffs there, or probably lack of my knowledge). But a bunch of dancers from Argentina singing an Indian Song !! how often do u see this ??  I mean you may see troops dancing for Indian songs. But putting in the effort to learn the song and sing it ?! Truly amazing.

It is truly a recognition of the Genius in ARR, and a truly inspiring instance people for who think that differences based on region, language, religion, race ,  or nationality may come in their path of success, in whatever profession one is. Well atleast, I see it that way.

On a side note, I get really pissed off with people who say ‘Slumdog Millionaire is definitely not ARR’s best’. I can only say, stop being a critic of something that is already world famous just to mark your presence. C mon .. If I play a few bests of ARR, these supposed to be ARR critics would not even know what film was it from , or even if ARR composed it.

When Warren buffet was once asked about the right time to invest he said something on the lines of ‘When your Aunt, ur Barber,  ur Bartender or ur office peon starts giving investment tips, its time to pullout all ur money from the market’.

Does it sound related the people whom I mentioned above ? Or Im just being too narrow minded ?

they r giving it out like pamplet these days..all u need is a photo and an id..i read a few months back like the government is going to be strict with giving out sim cards following the Mumbai blasts..if they call this strict, what would happen if they were free..worse than urs and my nightmares combined i guess..whats the problem with this u ask..don even get me started..my coll guys have started collecting sim cards as if they are collectibles..many of the guys i know hav a sim card in each and every network available..i still remember the times they sold a lifetime incoming sim card for 1000 rupees and u still hav to a minimum recharge periodically..now, u get the card for free with a few rupees talktime and an activated add on feature for a few months..so, i ask myself..y do ppl want more than one sim card..these are the possible answers i hav heard..
1. to talk to girlfriends/ boyfriends..this always is the top priority..if one network allows 5ps calls between two numbers, other gives it for free..the best one as i heard was idea, free calls from idea to idea for a monthly recharge of 150rs or so..
2. for the free talktime.. this is just for the fun of getting free talk time for a photo and a xerox copy of any id proof..who else would pay us for gettin our photo
3. just for bragging..”hey, i got all the sim cards in the market”..as if he/she ran 100 meters in 9secs or 9.00 secs exactly.. ( now, tats somethin even usain bolt didn’t do till now..i m sure he ll do even tat in the near future.. )
so, why do the companies want to sell sim cards this desperately??  they still think ppl r buying cards out of the interest in the company?? hello..welcome to reality, there are ppl who get anythin that is given out for free..and sim cards are not an exception..if u wanna lure customers, do it by giving offers and affordable add on features..not by free sim..its spoils the name of the company..if its free, its jus one step away from waste..well, apart from softwares that is..( freewares rock )
yeah, i forgot to tell bout the BIG prob with this situation..the one that made me to write this post..the ones havin all the sim cards jus hav one single mobile phone which supports jus one damn sim at a time..they jus swap sim cards and use..tats where the trouble is..we dunno which card they r using at present..hell, they don even know it..in case of emergency, u dunno which no to use to call the person..thank god i save the no with an extention separately..for those who save all the numbers of a contact in a single name, its mayhem..
its time the operators start taking notice of this..before we end up using all the combinations of 10 digit no..wit millions of em in the purses and not in mobiles..
