Two of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here stars have been charged with animal cruelty after they decapitated a rat and then fed it with rice to other contestants on the TV reality show. Both Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo and soap star Stuart Manning were arrested after the RSPCA confronted them last week about the incident. I also hear the relatives of witchetty grubs, worms and crickets, who were also abused on the set, have contacted PETA.

Santa's Awesome Elf: William Caldwell III

Morrow, Georgia My friend Kelly was going to take his daughter to visit Santa Claus yesterday and I tried to convince him to take his turn sitting on Santa’s lap. I’m not sure if he’s ever taken me seriously in the umpteen years I’ve known him and yesterday was no different. I tried to convince him it wasn’t really unheard of and the only thing that would really draw attention to the situation would be if he happened to piss on his lap, there was still no way he was going to humor me long distanced and actually do it. And just as I closed out our chat, I came across this story of a guy around our age who was filled with the holiday spirit and promptly got arrested.

Dressed in an elf costume, William Caldwell stood in line at Southlake Mall outside of Atlanta, Georgia last week awaiting his turn to speak to the freaky man with an unruly beard dressed in red. As he traversed the serpentine line he was merely looked upon as a mall employee who was possibly hired to don the ridiculous outfit and make a complete fool of himself. But when he made it to St. Nick, it’s what he said that got his ass in a whole heap of trouble.

It was something like, “Hey Santa, guess what I have for YOU…a little bit of dynamite in my bag!” I really hope he let out one of those maniacal laughs like all the evil villains do in the movies. And who knows, he may have – did you take a good look at his mug shot? Meth much, dude? Holy Shit! Had I been in line with my children and looked at that, we would have split. Seriously. He simply does not possess the look of a rational human being…or elf.

Santa called mall security and Big Willy was escorted into the arms of real cops who slapped some real charges on this over-grown doofus. While peering into his little bag of goodies, they found it was just as vacant of explosives as his gaze was of any sanity. William Caldwell III was arrested for having hoax devices and making terroristic threats. Should have charged the dipshit with pissing off Santa although the big guy NEVER forgets. Guaranteed, Willy has been crossed off that big list.

And Kelly – if you ever decided to act on a whim and follow my suggestion, leave any explosives you might think of acquiring at home…and of course, visit the little boy’s room before sitting on Santa’s lap. And for Willie, just say no to drugs, dude. And seriously, an elf costume? You totally ruined any fantasy I had of getting myself a few midgets, dress them as little elf people, and tossing them into the crowd. You’re on my shitlist too.

Police in Newnan, County Georgia disputed reports that Katt Williams was arrested yesterday (December 4), after a disturbancet a local Walmart outside of Atlanta.

Authorities received a 911 call yesterday from an unknown individual, who stated that Williams and an unknown group of men had threatened him with a shotgun.

Newnan Deputy Police Chief Rodney Riggs told TMZ.com that although Williams was cuffed and placed in the squad car, he was never charged with a crime and was released at the scene.

Riggs confirmed that a woman and her son were arrested on the scene for disorderly conduct.

He refused to comment on whether or not a shotgun, or any weapons had been found.

On Wednesday (December 2), Williams was arrested because of a bond issue connected to his burglary and trespassing counts the comedian was charged with earlier this month.

A southern California couple has been arrested for trying to cover-up a murder that their son and his friends are accused of.

They allegedly murdered 17-year-old Adrian Rios, at the home of Jose and Maria Seym.

The AP is reporting that…Police are seeking Jose Campos, 17, and arrested his stepfather and mother, Jose and Maria Seym (SAY-em), late Thursday on suspicion of being accessories to murder, said Hemet police Capt. Tony Margis.

Authorities believe the charred remains found last month in a fire pit behind Campos’ house are those of 17-year-old Adrian Rios, although they are awaiting the results of DNA testing on some of the remains, including a severed human foot. Results could take several weeks.

Police have also issued an arrest warrant for Felicia Sharp, 17, and a 21-year-old man named Rene Lopez-Fregozo, Margis said. Lopez-Fregozo and Sharp are both wanted for being an accessory to murder, he said.

I believe in supporting my child,but if he brutally murders a friend, and then fries his body in the family bar-be-que pit, then that is where my support for his freedom ends.

At this point,the police may have a right to shoot him down in the street, so they would have been better off, dealing with the judicial system.

If they find his DNA present while he is still on the run,then all bets are off.

Here in Southern California,most murderers attempt to flee across the border,because they think that Mexico will not extradite them if they could face the death penalty here,but that only is if the alledged killer is a citizen on Mexico.

Other than that, they will send you back to face the music.

Russian Nightclub Fire Kills Over 100, Two Arrested

Six police cars in Hick-Ass Newman, Ga. responded to a ‘disturbance call around 2 p.m. at a Walmart there, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

(News media is reporting the incident is involving an 18-wheeler possibly owned by Katt, but I don’t know if that is the case.)

Somebody pulled out a shotgun at the Georgia Walmart where Katt was arrested, this according to one of the people who called 911.   About 3 minutes into the call, (which came in at 2:17 PM local time), a man tells the 911 operator, “We’re having a problem with Katt Williams … and we need someone to come out here now. “The caller then explains, “They pulled out a shotgun and stuff like this.”   The operator replied, “He pulled out a shotgun?”   The caller responds, “Yes Ma’am.”

(Does sound like a lil set-up don’t it?  Them just all recklessly sayin’ his name like that…)

Shirley and Tony Williams, the mother and brother of Katt’s lil girlfriend Yolanda, (anotha crackhead?) allegedly confronted Katt, and accused him of ‘endangering Yolanda’s welfare’, (what?)  and were charged with disorderly conduct.   Katt, along with several other men from his “entourage” were cuffed up in the Walmart parking lot,  and everybody was transported to the pokey.  Katt was questioned, but not charged.

Police said that Katt Williams was not armed, but that’s not what 911 callers – a woman and a man (Shirley and Tony?) – lead them to believe.

Katt Wiliams is becoming really familiar with the Coweta County penal system — dude was arrested earlier this week for “a bond issue.”Williams was arrested late Wednesday afternoon in Newnan, Georgia — details surrounding the arrest are sketchy, but Katt posed for two mug shots at 6:54 PM that evening. As we first reported, Katt is set to be posing for a new set of Coweta County pictures any moment over an arrest earlier today at a Newnan WalMart.

Cops: Katt Williams Wasn’t Packin’ Heat

Katt Williams did not have a shotgun on his person when police arrived at a Georgia Walmart earlier today, this according to the Newnan Police Department.Newnan Deputy Police Chief Rodney Riggs tells TMZ Katt was handcuffed, put in the back of a police car and questioned about an alleged altercation in the Walmart parking lot — but Riggs says Williams was released at the scene and never officially booked.

Police received a 911 call from a man who claims Katt or somebody in his crew had pulled out a shotgun during the incident — but cops say they found no evidence that a gun was used during the incident. However, when asked if they found a gun on the scene, police would not comment.

Riggs did confirm that two people — a woman and her son — involved in the incident were booked for disorderly conduct.

Ronnie Wood publicist must be having a right breakdown this morning after reports have emerged that he dragged his Russian girlfriend down the street and threatened to burn her face with his a cigarette. Ouch!

Apparently, the Rolling Stone star and his model girlfriend were seen arguing in the street before he grabbed young Ekaterina by the scruff of her neck and dragged her along the pavement near their home in Surrey.

The worst part of all is, it’s thought that it was only when a passer by and his girlfriend intervened that Ronnie eventually let his missus go and the police were called as Ekaterina was ushered into their flat.

Oddly, despite the horrific event, Ekaterina has decided not to press charges against her lover and he has now been released on police bail. Despite the fact that insiders claim the couple frequently argue over Ronnie’s continuing friendship with estranged wife Jo Wood, is it just me or do we think Ekaterina should pack her bags and move on?

In other news,  the porn world is grieving today over the death of legendary star, Mercedes Bends.  Her body was found late last night by a janitor cleaning the set of her latest film, “The Beast In Me.”  Authorities have stated it appears to be a suicide, though they have yet to rule out the possibility of foulplay.
 Meanwhile, feminist groups across the country are rallying behind a new, masked leader, one who has taken the Mercedes automobile symbol as her logo.  Though she has so far managed to remain anonymous, she referred to the tragic death of Ms. Bends in a speech given at a public rally earlier today, claiming, “This sad event vindicates my belief that women in the porn industry are more likely to die young…”
She went on to call for militant action against the draconic film-makers who prey on the low self-esteem of young women and make these sorts of tragedies possible…

Santa’s little helper has been jailed after telling him he was carrying dynamite (that’s friggin naughty!). William C. Caldwell III, who was dressed as an elf but had absolutely no connection to the mall Santa, got in line to have his photo taken with the big guy. Hmm, but before he sat on Santa’s lap he told him he had dynamite in his bag. Not nice. Everybody panic! Mall cops eventually arrested the smartass elf and Santa continued with his minimum wage job.

Ashland, IL I’m not quite sure how I feel about the two latest stories I’ve featured being in close proximity to where I was raised. It really was a neat place to grow up…safe. And I suppose, to some extent, it still is a great environment to start and rear a family. That is: if you’re not needing police protection from the Rushville or Ashland Police Departments. Yesterday’s feature story was the tale of Ryan Jones, a 22-year-old who lost his life in a “vehicular accident” and the police allegedly lied about the entire scene. Today’s feature is focusing on the one-year-old murder of Steven Watkins in Ashland, Illinois – where it took a year to make an arrest when there were three adults in that home. I’m not sure if Chief Birdsell thought it was a prime opportunity to conduct a holiday home tour or what was bouncing around that noggin of his – nonetheless, he allowed contamination by not securing the crime scene as there were many in and out of that house. Oh, that and not conducting a gun shot residue test…not calling the Cass County Coroner…the list is vast. After completing the story on Rushville’s PD, I really thought they would win the competition for biggest fuck up. I made that decision in haste.

Before anyone gets the impression I do not support law enforcement, that’s very far from the truth. I don’t support arrogant nor incompetent asswipes who make a mockery of those who are actually willing to do their job. Without further ado, let’s recap the series of events that placed Ashland’s Chief Birdsell in this competition: and place some more focus on the Steven Watkins’ case – a father murdered in cold blood.

The following colored text is the original story I wrote and published on the Dreamin’ Demon.

Steven Watkins drove into Ashland to his estranged wife’s grandparent’s house to pick up his youngest daughter for his court ordered/approved visitation. I’m sure he was anticipating a less than warm welcome as he and Jennifer were due in court the following day to continue his effort to gain full custody of his child. But I’m fairly sure Steven didn’t plan on getting a bullet through the back of his head.

Yes, I’m aware of the fact we read about this shit every day. What sets this case apart is the best part: how this case was handled. The cast of characters are some I know so very well. So let’s get to it.

Steven’s estranged wife, Jennifer Watkins, was staying with her grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Skinner. When Steven arrived to pick up his daughter, Jennifer, Shirley, and Kenneth were all home. So was little Sidney. There was a 911 call placed regarding a domestic disturbance, Steven was shot from behind, and when Chief Jim Birdsell arrived, the dog and pony show started.

There was a body. There was a gun. The scene started out with 4 people, add Birdsell and whomever he brought along, plus the numerous others that were allowed to walk on in and have a look around. Grandma Shirley started pulling a Fred Sanford, having some flipping medical condition that allowed the focus to shift from the dead dude with his head shot up, to her. Of course they got some medical attention for that poor ailing woman of 74 years. In walks Robert Daniel, owner of MECCA Ambulance, a man I spent many years working beside – fully expecting to find his victim but totally not expecting to find a body sprawled out on the living room floor with a hole through the back of his skull. Knowing Robert (and knowing he is quick on his feet) I’m sure he handled the situation like a pro. Or at least the best one can after finding what he did. Discovering that Chief Birdsell had been there a while and that the Cass County Death Examiner, Wyatt Segar had not been called…well Robert made a command decision to take it upon himself and report the corpse to someone who’d actually give a shit. I can only imagine that conversation…”Hey Segar, it’s Bob. Hey. We’ve got a situation here in Ashland. We got called for a medical and our patient isn’t the one laying on the floor with brain matter scattered. I think you should probably come. Yep, the police chief is here but I don’t think he’s seen the body he’s been tripping over. See you soon.”

Wyatt Segar made the drive in record time, processed the crime scene as a death examiner will as grandma Shirley was being taken to the hospital. God only knows what else was taking place within that home…but the one thing that didn’t take place was a gun shot residue test. Nope. Birdsell didn’t think it was necessary I suppose. Cause shit, if a test was done, he’d actually be responsible for making a decision to arrest someone. He couldn’t decide on calling in a fucking murder.

For damn near a year, Steven’s family has been wondering where their granddaughter was. As soon as the dust settled a bit, Jennifer took Sidney and split the state. Her attorney couldn’t give them a location. Couldn’t let them know little Sidney was okay. The State’s Attorney, John Dahlem couldn’t tell them where they were in making any arrests. Jim Birdsell became a pro at uttering, “No Comment”. This family knew nothing other than the fact that 3 adults knew exactly what happened on November 25, and the authorities had totally fucked the crime scene up so much so, an arrest was looking like a long shot. That’s right: there was a waning feeling that an arrest would be made, in a case where the victim was shot in the head from BEHIND!There’s a name for this kind of thing. Execution style.

Then the State of Illinois came in and yanked the case from Cass County. (oh, it was “turned over”) *ahem* Okay, which ever way you want to read it. But shit started to happen. No one knew. Especially not the Skinner family who were yucking it up at their winter home in Florida. Yucking it up, living the good life until they were leaving a pizza joint Monday evening. That’s when Birdsell was flown in, escorted by officials who actually knew how to handle a situation, and Shirley Skinner was arrested for allegedly being the gun-wielding granny. According to her attorney, Shirley’s “obviously very upset. She’s traumatized by the charges.” Hey lawyer dude: wasn’t she fucking traumatized by having her grandson-in-law laid out dead on her living room floor?

Shirley Skinner was flown back to Illinois September 2nd, and is being held in Pike County (because Cass County has no jail) on a $5 million dollar bond accused of first-degree murder. According to the officials, the one’s who actually made things happen, more arrests may follow. God I hope so. And I also hope Steven’s family gains custody of Sidney so she can join her older half-sister who also resided with her adoring father. The Watkins now have custody of her. I can only imagine it would make the step forward a little easier to take knowing that Steven’s most prized blessings would be safe and sound in the loving arms of a family who displayed patience and grace and not with a family who chose to settle a custody dispute with a Glock 9mm.

Update

In a court hearing on December 1st, the $5 million bail for Shirley Skinner stands until the judge has time to review the Grand Jury transcripts. Her attorney is arguing for a reduction of bail – $100,000 in cash would be ideal. He stated her family would be able to bail her ass out of the slammer and she’d be willing to surrender her passport and wear a home monitoring device. Because of her age and her ties to the community of Ashland, she poses no flight risk. He also states, in referring to the authorities arresting her in Florida, that she was in Illinois a week prior to that arrest and would have turned herself in had she known they were going to charge her. In a bold statement from Chief Birdsell, even he admitted the Skinners had been uncooperative in this investigation. Ya think?

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Seriously. Someone shot Steven Watkins and that “someone” was one of three adults in the house…Shirley, Kenneth, or Jennifer. Murder is typically frowned upon. You know, it is against the law. Surely Shirley is smart enough to deduct some arrest was bound to happen once the case was handed over to the Illinois State Police. Why didn’t she surrender herself a long time ago? Like say…when Steven was lying dead on her floor? It’s not hard to call bullshit on her lawyer’s statement.

During the court appearance, new details were disclosed. They’re awesome.

First, Chief Jim Birdsell was called to testify. Shirley Skinner’s fingerprints were not found on the glock used to shoot Steven. As a matter of fact, there were no fingerprints. Not unusual from what I’ve been told about that particular weapon since it has a textured surface. Although there were no fingerprints on the weapon – the authorities (one’s who actually can do something) found DNA of two individuals. Guess who… yes, Jennifer is a given. Who was the 2nd? According to Chief Birdsell’s testimony, it was “possibly” his! Now, DNA is pretty definitive. It either belongs to one or it doesn’t. There’s no “possibly” to that shit.

“Would it be unusual to find yours on the gun?” the defense attorney asked.

“Yes, sir,” the police chief responded.

While Birdsell claims to have worn gloves while he was standing in the Skinner home, (which should be standard operating procedure for anyone who sticks or keeps their thumb up their ass – doctors wear them), it’s hard to grasp how his DNA got on that gun. He seems to be a little befuddled as well. What’d he do? Drool on the damn thing?

It was also revealed that when Birdsell arrived, Shirley was alone gazing at their handy work laying dead on the floor while the others (plus guests) were chilling in another part of the house. It’s been claimed that Steven forced his way into the home, pushed Grandma Shirley to the ground and was attempting to get at Jennifer and his daughter. If grandma’s all sprawled out on the floor (and lest we forget her age) are we to believe that woman was able to spritely grab Jennifer’s gun and deliver a good shot? Why was the gun out?

Shirley is reported as having two marks on her right hand between her thumb and index finger that evening but no photographs were taken because she wasn’t feeling so well and needed that medical attention and well… I’m not sure they even thought about preserving this Kodak moment. A few casual questions, no gun shot residue test, no actual reporting a dead guy on the floor, allowing others into the crime scene, and blowing boogers or God knows what kind of DNA on the murder weapon – it’s no wonder it took almost a year for the local authorities to determine they might need some help thinking this one out. Good God. How the Watkins family still has faith, I’ll never understand but will continue to admire.

Health care reform and abortion clash

(CNN) – A public health care forum in Providence, Rhode Island quickly grew tense, ending in the arrest of a mayoral candidate.

It went down when Congressman Patrick Kennedy, who for weeks has been avoiding questions about his support of abortion, was hit with the question head on.

The chaotic ending to an emotional outburst took place at a healthcare forum at brown university. It began when Christopher Young, a candidate for mayor of Providence, confronted Kennedy about abortion.

Kennedy, a pro-choice Catholic has been entangled in a battle with the church about taxpayer funding for abortion in the health care bill.

Young tossed a DVD at the congressman and was then dragged out by police after he asked:

“Why would you mandate Catholics to support the funding of abortion when it goes against our religious beliefs? It forces Catholics to fund abortions or serve a five year prison sentence. You make it a felony. This is not a free country. You are forcing people to support a bill that goes against the religious beliefs of the people of this country.”

As the forum continued, Kennedy never answered that question, or any other question about abortion or his public battle with the church.

When the forum ended, he had this to say about the outburst.

“I think that’s part of the whole process of politics these days.”

And he had this to say about his dispute with the church.

“I’ve said what I can about that. It’s not worth repeating. These are personal issues of faith to me. I’m not going to indulge in this debate anymore.”

Christopher Young was arrested after he was dragged from the forum. He is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Jim Tucker, 47, was arrested in Lawrence County on allegations of sexual misconduct by an authority figure at Summertown High School.

Tucker, who is also the director of the Tabernacle Music Ministries, was recently hired to be Summertown High’s band director.

The Lawrence County School Board is expected to issue a statement soon.

UPDATE [9:42 pm]: According to a Nashville is Talking update, this is the statement given by Lawrence County:

Director of Schools Bill Heath was made aware of allegations against an employee Tuesday afternoon. In accordance to Tennessee Code and Lawrence County School System Policies, the employee has been suspended pending the outcome of the law enforcement investigation. Additional employee actions may be taken at the conclusion of the current investigation and any legal proceedings that may follow.

Six people were arrested by the New Orleans Police Department Monday after allegedly spray-painting graffiti on a building in the French Quarter during an apparent protest over the incarceration of several local rap artists, according to police.

Off-duty police officers saw the suspects spray-painting “Free Lil Wayne” on the side of a building in the 900 block of Conti Street around 9 p.m. and notified the NOPD, according to spokesman Janssen Valencia.

New Orleans born rap star Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, pleaded guilty in October to attempted weapons possession and expects to receive a one-year jail sentence. He is currently out on bond.

The men also placed a banner across Royal and Canal streets calling on authorities to release Torrence “Lil Boosie” Hatch, a Baton Rouge rapper who pleaded guilty in September to a marijuana possession charge and is currently in prison. The group also placed police barricades and metal garbage cans in the 100 block of Burgundy to halt traffic.

When officers arrived, the suspects fled but were apprehended nearby, Valencia said. The six subjects were charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest by flight and criminal damage to property.

Three of the suspects were listed as homeless, two were from Monroe and the third from Pennsylvania.
