Art Condos Construction Update: Parking Levels Continue to Take Shape

It’s been a while since our last update, but we’re still finishing up the parking levels here at our Queen and Dovercourt site. Here are some photos of the progress thus far.

Art Condos Mini Update: Parking Levels and Foundation Walls

Here at Queen and Dovercourt, The Art Condos site is buzzing with activity on the P3 and P2 slabs. We’re also forming the foundation walls. In other words, concrete abounds. Enjoy the below photos of the latest happenings!

Art Condos Construction Update: I'll Take Parking Levels for $100, Alex

We’re back from a short hiatus with a brand new construction update from Queen Street West.

Lately we’ve been keeping busy building up the parking levels and slinging stones into the pit (surely one of the more fun tasks on a construction site).

Art Condos Construction Update: Movin' on Up

There is some notable progress to report this week from the Art Condos site. The main excavator is leaving the site and we’re starting work on the elevator shaft. Check out the below photos.

Art Condos Construction Update: It's Foundation Time!

Right now at the Art Condos Queen & Dovercourt site, the team is working on the footings, columns and foundation walls. They have also started the waterproofing process. The site is changing so quickly these days! Check out the progress below.

The columns are going up.

The foundation wall and waterproofing are underway.

Next week the underground drains will be installed, so stay tuned for the photos in our next update!

Art Condos Construction Update: The Crane is Here!

Didn’t we just do a construction update, you ask? Yes, but now the crane is actually in place. Photographic proof to follow!

The crane arrives in sections on a flatbed truck.

Assembly begins on the base that was prepared last week.

Ah, so satisfying to see everything coming together.

And now there’s one more crane dotting the Toronto skyline.

Art Condos Construction Update! (Or, How to Prepare for a Crane)

We know it’s been a while since our last construction update. There was a lot of excavation and shoring to get through. While crucial, the lengthy process doesn’t make for the most original blog posts.

Last week, however, we were preparing for a landmark point in the construction process, namely, the arrival of the crane. Here are some photos as we prepare the site just before the crane gets here. This is how it’s done.

Make a big square hole in the ground.

Decide where the crane’s base it going to go. Mark it with an ‘X’.

Install the base of the crane in the centre of the hole.

And there you have it. We really missed construction updates! So glad they’re back. We’ll have another one soon once the crane is actually set up, so stay tuned! And, of course, following our Facebook & Twitter pages is the best way to make sure you don’t miss anything.
