It has been announced that Tatsuya’s movie Parade (パレード) is going to be shown at the 14th Pusan International Film Festival (08-16 October 2009). Parade will be showing on the 12th, 13th and 14th. Tatsuya will also be on a Q&A panel with other members of the cast on 14th October. This will be Parade’s World Premiere. The movie is officially set to be released in 2010.

Actor Kenichi Matsuyama (24) has been revealed as a supporting cast member in the upcoming movie “Kaiji,” which stars Tatsuya Fujiwara (27). This reunites the pair, who last worked together in the hit live-action “Death Note” films in 2006.

“Kaiji” is based on Nobuyuki Fukumoto’s popular manga about a gambler named Kaiji (Fujiwara) stuck in a dangerous game trying to clear an enormous debt. Matsuyama plays Kaiji’s colleague Sahara, who shares a similar fate.

The “Kaiji” movie was first announced last year and has been scheduled for an October 10 release. The supporting cast includes Yuki Amami and Teruyuki Kagawa.

YUI has been tapped to provide the theme song and an insert song for the manga-to-movie adaptation “Kaiji,” which stars Tatsuya Fujiwara as a gambler trying to erase an enormous debt.

Initially, YUI was only asked to provide the theme, but director Toya Sato ended up using two of her tunes. “It’s all too much” will serve as the theme song, while “Never say die” will be heard during the film.

Besides Fujiwara and Matsuyama, Kaiji’s cast also includes Amami Yuki, Kagawa Teruyuki, Yamamoto Taro, Matsuo Suzuki, and Sato Kei.

Pupils are no better at maths now than they were 30 years ago – despite a rise in exam grades, a study suggests.

familiar with decimals than fractions

Researchers asked 3,000 11 to 14-year- olds in England to sit maths exams taken by pupils in 1976, and compared their scores with the earlier results.

Analysis suggested there was little difference between the two generations.

But among pupils from the previous generation taking O-level maths, less than a quarter gained a C or above, compared to 55% in GCSEs last year.

‘Teaching to the test’

Dr Jeremy Hodgen, of King’s College, London, who led the research team, suggested the disparity between unchanged ability and the increase in grades was partly down to schools’ obsession with Sats results and league table positions.

He said: “There’s a great deal of teaching to the test, so that in trying to increase scores, schools develop an understandable focus on the test, so there’s a narrowing of the curriculum.”

He also said mainstream schools today had a higher proportion of lower-achieving pupils, whereas in the 1970s many of these pupils would have been in special schools.

The researchers found some differences in the abilities of the two groups of pupils in different areas of mathematics.

Today’s secondary school pupils were much more familiar with decimals than they were 30 years ago. On the other hand, fractions appeared to be much harder for today’s pupils, the study suggested.

‘Hard work’

Thirty years ago, pupils would sometimes convert decimals into fractions to solve a problem, but those taking the tests now did the reverse, researchers found.

Schools Minister Diana Johnson said another independent report showed pupils in England making real progress in maths and that GCSE standards were rigorously monitored.

“We do not think that research based on tests in a small number of specific topics taken in 11 schools by 11 to 14-year-olds is a good way to judge standards in the maths GCSE – an exam which tests the full breadth of the curriculum and that is taken by older pupils from all schools in the country.

“Improved mathematics attainment is down to pupils’ hard work and excellent teaching. This is further reflected by the fact that more and more young people are going on to study mathematics and further mathematics at AS-level and A-level.”

The research is being presented at the British Educational Research Association conference in Manchester on Saturday.

SERDANG, sun: A six-year-old child with Down’s Syndrome and a hole in the heart is the latest of three deaths resulting from complications due to influenza A (H1N1).

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the child who died on Thursday of “pneumonia with underlying Down’s Syndrome and Pulmonary Hypertension” was admitted to the hospital on Aug 9 after suffering for two days of H1N1 symptoms.

He said another three-year-old also succumbed to H1N1 complications after being admitted to the hospital on Aug 1 for fever and cough and suffering breathing difficulties for five days.

“The child died on Friday due to severe pneumonia,” he said after launching the Serdang Lifelong Health Carnival at SRJK (C) Serdang Baru 1 here.

Liow said the third death was a 50-year-old man who died on Friday after he was warded on Aug 3 due to fever, diarrhea, vomiting and breathing difficulty.

He said the man died of “septicemia with severe pneumonia”.

He said the three deaths raised the H1N1 death toll in the country to 62, while 238 new cases brought the number of H1N1 infections to 3,857 cases, so far.

Liow said to date, 213 patients were being treated at the normal wards while 33 more were at the Intensive Care Unit, 16 of whom had risk factors such as chronic illnesses (7), asthma (3), obesity (2), mental illness (2), pregnancy (1) and post-delivery (1).

He said the Health Ministry found many of those infected with H1N1 did not cooperate well in controlling the pandemic.

He reminded the public to promptly seek treatment at nearby clinics or hospitals if they had H1N1 symptoms and reminded doctors to not postpone antiviral treatments to patients.

He said under Section 12 (1) of the Infectious Diseases Control Act 1988, anyone who knows of a disease that can spread to the public and purposely ignore quarantine warnings and infect others will be fined RM2,000 or a maximum penalty of RM10,000 or two years of imprisonment or both. — BERNAMA

IN case you hadn’t noticed, we live in very dangerous times. No doubt there are many areas where this statement applies. The proliferation of wars, civil strife, economic sanction, takeovers and forced expulsion, genocide, natural disaster, environmental pollution, political oppression, street crime, you name it.

At this time however, we would like to offer a few words on a dangerous situation regarding one of the most fundamental aspects of human behaviour that if abused can lead to an insidious form of genocide. Namely,the destruction of people through immoral sexual relationships. This is a vast topic indeed, so we will not in any way attempt to give it a full treatment. We hope now only to make several points by looking at what the situation is today and how Islam and Muslims are viewed with regards to it.

It can neither be denied that any given society may undergo trends nor that these trends usually have an underlying cause or source and they don’t just suddenly “turn up” but rather develop over time. In the West in particular, sexual relationships are generally viewed as the private preference of each individual. No one has the right to determine with whom, or how one conducts one’s sex life. What occurs between consenting adults, no matter what sex or how many, is usually condoned. We believe that these beliefs and principles (along with others) have chiefly contributed to the following realities of today’s world.

The current reality

Premarital sex between heterosexuals is considered quite acceptable, normal, well within the bounds of morality, and indeed desirable. It has been this way for a long time and could honestly be said to be part of the “American Way”. Dating begins at a very young age and every socially well-adjusted youngster is expected to have several girlfriends and boyfriends by a certain age. Couples are expected to live together and getting married has long ceased to be considered as a major aim in life.

Those who grow up in the West are weaned on sex in both subtle and not so subtle ways. It is quickly learned through TV shows, commercials, movies, advertisements, songs, you name it, that being sexy is a desired goal and aim in life. Even comic books abound with superheroes and heroines with fantastically well-proportioned bodies and they lead sexually active private lives where little is left to the imagination. Animated cartoon characters from Betty Boop to Jessica Rabbit make the message crystal clear about what makes a female desirable. The top selling video and computer games feature female characters with sexy bodies whose biggest audiences are adolescent boys and young men.

Females are intensely focused on being sexually attractive and are conditioned to be so from the time they get their first Barbie. This is what makes the fashion, cosmetic and entertainment industries thrive. Countless young girls admire and aspire to be ‘superstar’ beauty queens, models, singers, or actresses.

There is a phenomenal proliferation of ‘fan’ or entertainment magazines that feature the hottest entertainment stars who are known precisely for their sex appeal. Romance novels (some affectionately termed “bodice rippers”) are the number one sellers among young women around the world and have made many a writer rich even before they have sold the film rights.

The most popular “rap artistes” regularly feature sexually explicit ‘lyrics’ in their ‘songs’ that would disgust some of the crooners of love songs in the ‘old days’ (the 70’s & 80’s). The highest rated TV talk shows are those that commonly feature people who expose their most intimate and outlandish sexual behaviour.

Fashion, health, and women’s magazines must feature tips on how to be a master of all things. In Middle Eastern countries, newsstands and bookstores are filled with magazines with covers featuring the faces of gorgeous Arab (dare we say Muslim) women in the latest fashions, not to mention what is within the pages.

In the US alone, pornography of all types and levels is a multi-billion dollar industry having increased in leaps and bounds within just the last decade. The amount of sexual activity that the average person, including children, may view on prime time national television is far above that which one may have had to search for less than a decade or two ago.

Sexual innuendo or titillating banter is ever present in situation comedies and other dramas and films. Daytime soap operas make their ratings on the number of affairs the characters are having and how sexually bold the beautiful, young and restless co-stars are on screen. Cable television is full of sexually explicit programming that can be seen at nearly all times.

Video stores are stocked with plenty of films. The latest compact disks are easily available, as are satellite dish transmissions of the same fare in many Muslim countries. Indeed, satellite broadcasts feature music videos, films, models and everything else from Hollywood to Bollywood that sends a clear message that being desirable, attractive and sexy is of paramount importance.

The destructive consequences

After all that liberation, a woman’s worth is still tied to her level of physical beauty which is still considered her greatest asset and one to be exploited in the worst way. Males are increasingly judged in this way but not to the degree as are females. Even the modern ‘super-woman power-executive’ who is supposed to be respected for her intellect and authority still wears a mid-thigh skirt. She expects… no demands, to be viewed as absolutely equal to her male counterpart, yet does she really believe that when dressed this way her worth is not at all being judged based on her looks by even the unemployed vagrant she passes by on the way to work? Indeed, it is commonplace, normal and in no way embarrassing for a woman to wear the tightest and most revealing clothing in public and walk virtually nude at public beaches and swimming pools.

People are not at all embarrassed or inhibited with public displays of sexual passion. Prostitution in all its forms is increasingly open and given a “blind eye” by law enforcement who have their hands full with “real” crimes. It is even legal in some countries despite what would seem the relative easy availability of sex otherwise.

There are places that are world famous for their open markets of female, male and child prostitutes. Legal statutes forbidding sex between minors, or certain other sexual practices are often not applied until and unless a formal complaint is brought against one party by another and may then even be found to be so outdated that they are wiped out completely.

Adultery and fornication are no longer viewed as the deadly crimes and sins they really are and are in fact commonplace. Married men are expected to have several mistresses in some places. Condoms are being handed out for free in several public school systems. A heavy price is being paid in unwanted unmarried teenage pregnancies, ‘fatherless’ children and resultant economic, health and psychological problems.

Homosexuality has now become accepted by a large number of people particularly in the West as well as in other circles that are “Westernised”. An indication of this changed attitude is the fact that homosexuals are no longer portrayed as they stereotypically were in past Hollywood films and television as ‘flaming faggots’ who were silly, lisping, cowardly weaklings or sexually promiscuous. That is and was considered offensive by homosexuals and is now ‘politically incorrect’ among the ‘mainstream’ heterosexual populace. Recent portrayals are now often of the homosexual as sensitive, level-headed and responsible members of society. Perhaps it could be accurately stated that homosexuality is accepted by a majority of Americans and Europeans even if they personally do not practice it. Accepted in so much as no one will report or condemn or discriminate against a homosexual in most areas unless they are flagrantly offensive in their mannerisms and behaviour.

This in no way implies that there aren’t many people who still find homosexuality abhorrent and even react violently to it. However, it is considered absolutely politically incorrect in ‘mainstream’ circles to imply that homosexuals are any less moral and have any less right to practise what they practice than any heterosexual.

Even worse are reports in recent years that it has been statistically proven that a staggeringly high percentage of American females have been and can expect to be not only harassed but sexually assaulted in their lifetimes – even by family members! Violent sexual crimes are no longer shocking and rapists are given relatively light sentences if convicted. Child sexual abuse and “date rape” is a major problem and who knows how many incidences go unreported?

“Stalking” is another type of crime that an amazingly high number of women have experienced and more can expect. Even wealthy and powerful men face being sexually assaulted or threatened. Every man, no matter how rich or powerful faces a high risk of being accused of being a perpetrator of sexual harassment or even assault. Literally millions of people, especially women, are victims each year of sexually related disasters from rape and assault to divorces and crimes of passion, and from sexually transmitted diseases to psychological and emotional disorders.

Refusal to face the need for change

Even in the face of this staggering toll in human suffering and degradation, the disbelievers and doubters in Islam still incredulously ask: You Muslims say that Islam wants women to be all covered up?! They can’t wear whatever they please shouldn’t go out perfumed?! The opposite sex shouldn’t even shake hands with those who are not their close relatives or spouses nor should an unrelated man and a woman be in a room alone together even if they are engaged?! You’re not supposed to go out on dates? You shouldn’t listen to music, especially the romantic, sexy, and sexually explicit songs? No swimming or visiting the public beaches in the summer?! Not even the same sex should see each other in scanty, skin-tight, or see-through clothing or even shower together at the gym?! You’re against co-educational institutions?! You’re supposed to lower your gaze when the opposite sex comes along and if you must speak to them it should be in a no-nonsense tone?! You really place great value on chastity, modesty and virgin until marriage?! You encourage that men be jealous for and protective of their wives?! Premarital sex is a punishable crime and adultery is a capital offence?! No sex unless you are married to your partner?! You can marry up to four women?!!!

They call the genuine, devout, practising Muslims extremists (equating them with terrorists in the mind of the average person), yet they don’t (or refuse to) recognise the ugly realities described earlier as outrageous and extreme!

They label Muslims fundamentalists, but they don’t admit that the present situation calls for a major and fundamental revision of their principles!

They say we are strange but we don’t mind. As the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:

Islam began as something strange and it will again become something strange. Therefore, may Allah bless the strangers!

KUALA LUMPUR: The haze has brought about an increase in the number of children seeking treatment for respiratory problems and chest infections especially in the Klang Valley.

According to Kuala Lumpur Hospital consultant pulmonary and critical care physician Datuk Dr Jeyaindran Sinnadurai, the situation was still manageable but could worsen if the haze worsened.

He said those with underlying respiratory illnesses such as asthma and bronchitis should not forget their medication.

He added that if the illness worsened, they should seek immediate medical attention.

“The haze can cause upper and lower respiratory tract infections, conjunctivitis or ‘red eye’ and sore throat. This is due to dust particles and the presence of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide.”

He said both coarse and fine particles could irritate the eyes and respiratory tract, causing runny nose, phlegm, coughing and wheezing.

“Air pollution can lead to a runny nose. Throats get dry and itchy and mucus develops. It could end up clogging the respiratory tract, leading to infection.”

Serdang Hospital head of paediatric department Dr Norrashidah Abd Wahab said the hospital had seen an increase in the number of children aged 5 and below coming in with upper and lower respiratory tract infection since early this month.

She said their two paediatric wards, each with 28 beds, were now fully occupied, with 80 to 90 per cent of admissions due to haze- related problems.

“We are seeing a 20 to 30 per cent increase in admissions since the second week of the month.”

Paediatric neurologist Dr Malinee A.Thambyayah of Pantai Hospital said she had handled children coming in with complaints of allergic rhinitis, tightness in the chest, clogged noses and dust allergy.

“My own daughter is suffering from throat irritation,” she added.

The doctors advised Malaysians not to stay outdoors for long periods and to wash their hands and face as soon as they came indoors.

The public should also:

- bathe regularly to get the dust out of the face and body;

- reduce outdoor activities, including physical exercise; and,

- drink plenty of fluids.

More than half of nurses who work in emergency departments report they’ve been physically assaulted on the job, according to an online survey of more than 3,000 ER nurses by the Emergency Nurses Association.

Responding to the 69-question survey, the nurses said they have been spit on, hit, pushed, shoved, scratched or kicked by patients while on duty.

The incidents are partly a result of the nature of the job and the fact that emergency rooms accept all comers, association president Bill Briggs says.

“It’s the safety net when you can’t get help anywhere else,” Briggs says. “Every type of patient comes to the emergency department.

“We accept patients under the influence of drugs and alcohol, (and) psychiatric patients. … It’s very unpredictable.”

Other precipitating factors: a shortage of ER nurses, patient crowding and prolonged wait times. One in four nurses reported experiencing assaults more than 20 times in the past three years, and one in five said they had experienced verbal abuse more than 200 times during the same period.

The incidents have led one in three nurses to consider leaving their department.

“The public wants a safe place to go and get help in an emergency, and that’s what we want,” Briggs says. “The Emergency Nurses Association wants to promote a safe working environment … safe for patients and visitors and staff members, and we’re looking for ways to do that.”

Laws protecting emergency department nurses vary widely by state, and some states have no laws. The nurses association plans to work with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration to make safety precautions a requirement in all states.

“Every emergency department should have its own plan in place,” Briggs says. To start, he says, hospitals should have more security available, alarm buttons and a security committee to assess the ER and create a plan for a safe environment.

“I’ve had bumps and bruises and, certainly, it has an emotional impact,” says Briggs, a nurse for 30 years. “I’ve wondered, do I want to stay? How often do I want this to happen?

“Most people enter the profession to help people, not to get beat up and not to see your co-workers get beat up.”

The survey’s findings are reported in the current issue of the Journal of Nursing Administration.

If you are looking to take up watercolor, you may need some help selecting the correct paper for your first painting. The type of watercolor paper is typically selected based upon its texture and thickness. Watercolor paper is chosen based on the final look you are trying to attain. The standard watercolor paper surface options are hot press, cold press, and rough.

Hot Press:
This paper works well for multiple washes and blending. Artists choosing this style are typically looking for a more detailed approach, where precision is key. This paper is fine-grained and smooth. Errors are somewhat easier to lift than their rougher cousins.

Cold Press:
Cold press paper is a good choice for landscapes and abstracts where a variety of textures are required. This paper has a medium amount of roughness, somewhere between the hot press and rough paper textures.

Rough Paper:
Rough paper is typically used for a looser approach, where precision and detail are not as important. Dry brushing is easy and effective on cold or rough papers.

These types of papers come in varying thicknesses. Watercolor paper is rated in pounds (lbs.), which are related to the pounds per ream (500 sheets) of paper. The typical weights are 90 lb., 140 lb., and 300 lb. As the weight increases, so does the price. One advantage of the 300 lb. paper is that you won’t have to stretch your paper, due to its inherent stiffness. Just clip this type of paper to a board and that should be sufficient. It also takes more abuse due to sanding and scrubbing. 300 lb. paper does not require any kind of support, other than a surface to lay it on.

Some suppliers of watercolor paper are d’Arches, Strathmore, Winsor & Newton, Saunders Waterford, Bockingford, and Fabriano. Each brand is a little different in texture, thickness, and quality. Make certain that any paper you buy is acid- free and lignin free. Most watercolor papers meet these criteria, but you will want to ask just to make sure.

Bockingford paper does not absorb pigments like other papers, allowing the artist to make corrections through lifting. This paper does not work well with glazing one color over another, so only direct painting is recommended.

Beginners might want to consider frame size when they cut and size their paper. Standard frames at places such as Aaron Brothers are much cheaper than custom frames. If you can adjust your paper to fit standard frame sizes without compromising your design, it will save you a lot of money! If you plan on making your own frames, this will not pose a problem.

As Barack Obama, the US president, seeks to mend the image of the US in the Muslim world, a new survey indicates almost half of Americans have a negative opinion about Muslim countries.

The 46 per cent of respondents who held an unfavourable view of Islamic nations was up five per cent from 2002, while just 20 per cent said they held a positive opinion.

“It’s pretty difficult to think much about folks that are seriously trying to kill us or kill anybody who doesn’t believe the way they do; so, I am not very happy with those folks,” Chuck Hauptman, a Billings, Montana resident, told Al Jazeera recently.

Greg Smith, a researcher with the Pew Forum on Religion in Washington, says most Americans’ views of Muslims are heavily influenced by what they see on television and read in newspapers.

“The number one answer people give us when we ask them what’s most important in shaping their views on Islam is the media,” Smith says.

“It’s people who have a negative view of Muslims and Islam in particular who are most likely to say their opinion is shaped largely by what they see in the media.”

About 60 per cent of Americans feel that the Muslim world considers itself at war with the US, and there is a widespread impression that Islam encourages violence – 45 per cent of respondents in a 2007 poll associated the religion with violent attacks.

“A lot of people, because of 9/11 and the terrorist era we seem to be in, have generalised all Middle Eastern people as devils,” comments Marty Connolly of the Billings research institute.

On the other side, surveys of Muslim countries show only about 25 per cent of people approve of US leadership.

Smith says negative views are most common among Americans who are older, do not have college degrees, and who have never met a Muslim.

“People who say they personally know a Muslim are much more likely to express favourable views of Muslims,” he says.

Entrenched attitudes

While Obama has made dialogue with Muslim countries a priority for his foreign policy, polls indicate many Americans do not particularly care what Muslims think of the US, or they feel that Muslim opinions do not matter.

A recent trip to the US state of Montana appeared to confirm some of these entrenched attitudes towards Muslims.

“I don’t care about co-existence,” Montana resident Carroll Broch told Al Jazeera.

“I don’t want to co-exist with them. They either accept us or they don’t accept us.”

Pasangan Mega – Prabowo ; SBY – Boediono ; JK – Wiranto, ketiga kandidat capres – cawapres ini berlomba – lomba untuk memaparkan visi dan misi mereka, apa yang akan mereka lakukan dan apa yang akan mereka rombak dan benahi untuk menjadikan bangsa ini baik. Baik perekonomian, baik masa depannya, baik masyarakatnya, baik pemerintahannya, baik keamanannya, baik semuanya.

Berbagai kegiatan kampanye mereka lakukan untuk menarik simpatik masyarakat supaya memilih satu dari mereka. Hal semakin menarik adalah adanya debat capres dan debat cawapres yang di siarkan oleh televisi telivisi kita. Melalui debat capres dan cawapres ini baik sekali untuk masyarakat mengetahui bagaimanakah kredibilitas masing masing pasangan capres – cawapres. Melalui visi dan misi mereka dan semangat mereka dalam memaparkan program kerja mereka dan kepedulian kecintaan mereka pada bangsa dan masyarakat untuk melakukan yang terbaik, paling tidak masyarakat dapat memilih dengan cermat dan benar.

Namun dalam debat capres – cawapres ini terlebih masyarakat harusnya dapat menilai juga bukan hanya visi, misi dean program kerja ketiga pasangan capres – cawapres ini. Masyarakat juga hendaknya dapat menilai bagaimana sikap, karakter, arogansi, pasangan masing – masing capres – cawapres. Ini adalah ajang pemilihan President bukan ajang saling menjatuhkan atau menjelekkan kelemahan seseorang. NOBODY PERFECT – GOD IS ONLY THE ONE WHO’S PERFECT !

Yang seharusnya mereka lakukan adalah bersaing beradu argument program kerja tanpa harus saling menjelekan, menyerang dengan membabi buta pasangan yang lain. Jika demikian halnya, apa yang ingin dibuktikan, apa yang ingin masyarakat nilai untuk memilih ??? yang ada hanyalah proses ” PENCONTOHAN ” masyarakat akan meniru dan mencontoh sebagaimana yang dilakukan para pejabat tinggi diatas – masyarakat akan dengan mudah dalam kehidupan dan lingkungan kerja untuk saling menyerang, menyalahkan, menjelekkan. Debat capres tapi menyerang cawapres pasangan lain. Apa ini ???!! Kapan bangsa ini dapat maju bila etika masyarakat dan pemimpin bangsa nya juga seperti ini. Harusnya mereka dapat menjadikan contoh sikap, karakter, dan prilaku mereka selain memamparkan visi, misi, dan program kerja mereka. Apa artinya visi, misi dan program kerja yang bagus tanpa di imbangi sikap, prilaku dan karakter serta arogansi yang berlebihan. Jika demikian maka Robinhood dapat melakukan lebih baik dari mereka. Robinhood memang ia seorang perampok, dan semua yang ia rampok adalah untuk rakyatnya, dan rakyatnya dapat hidup damai dan makmur.

Intinya adalah bangsa ini tidak membutuhkan seorang pemimpin yang hanya omong besar tapi tidak bisa memberikan bukti dalam 5 tahun kerja. Mungkin para pemimpin di bangsa ini harsu lebih sesakma memperhatikan ada satu iklan yang baik dari A Mild yaitu dengan slogan ” Talk Less Do More ” .

Tanggal 25 juni kemarin telah diputar di bioskop – bisokop sebuah film yang sangat berharga sekali yaitu sebuah film yang berjudul King. Film ini menceritakan tentang bagaimana sebuah semangat untuk menjadi yang terbaik. Untuk menjadi yang terbaik, harus berusaha dengan keras, u have to spend alots time, money, attention. dan segalanya. For the most important thing is, U have no give up in everything, and dont ever say ” I CANT “.

Pada prinsip nya tidak ada seseorang yang tidak bisa, karena setiap orang telah di berikan seuatu kemampuan dan pikiran. Seseorang yang mau terus berusaha tanpa mengenal kata capek atau pun menyerah maka suatu saat ia pasti akan melihat sebuah hasil yang manis. Yang ada hanyalah sekolompok orang-orang yang tidak mau berusaha ( Quitter ) cepat menyerah, maka orang yang seperti ini sebenarnya tergolong orang yang malas. Jangan pernah mengharapkan yang luar biasa terjadi jika tidak pernah berusaha dan mencoba. Ada juga sekelompok orang orang yang mau berusaha tapi tidak mau sabar sehingga baru setengah jalan lalu menyerah begitu menghadapi batu permasalahan sedikit aja ( Camper ) orang seperti ini tidaklah memiliki mental yang kuat. Untuk mencapai sebuah impian atau yang biasa disebut orang ” my dreams come true ” dibutuhkan semangat 45 yaitu semangat yang pantang menyerah ( Climber ) sampai hal indah itu terjadi.

Apa yang dikisahkan dalam sebuah film ” KING “ ini adalah gambaran bahwa untuk mencapai sebuah keberhasilan atau kesuksesan dibutuhkan beberapa hal : kesabaran, ketekunan, keuletan , kegigihan dan impian yan disertai doa. King diambil dari sosok pemain bulutangkis legendari Indonesia yaitu Liem Swie King. Jump Smash nya yang mematikan dan menakutkan lawan – lawan termasuk pemain – pemain dari china. Kecepatan dan kombinasi pukulan dan kecepatan nya sungguh telah membuat harum nama bangsa Indonesia dengan berbagai gelar yang di raihnya dalam dunia perbulutangkisan.

Liem Swie King adalah bukti konkrit sebuah atlit harusnya tidak pernah mengenal menyerah dalam bertandin maupuan dalam berlatih. Seberat apapun rintangan latihan dan lawan yang dihadapi, tidak pernah mengenal kata menyerah sebelum bertanding, tidak pernah mengenal kata capek dalam berlatih untuk menjadi yang terbaik. Liem Siwe King tidak pernah menyerah ketika berhadapan dengan pemain – pemain dari Negeri Tirai Bambu yang terkenal hebat. Apa yang dilakukan oleh Liem Swie King justru menjadi lecutan bagi para pemain – pemain muda Tanah Air – Indonesia, untuk memiliki semangat yang besar dalam meraih sebauh kesuksesan dan terlebih untuk memberikan yang terbaik bagi Tanah Air tercinta. Walau mungkin tidak memiliki kesempatan berjuang seperti pahlawan – pahlawan yang telah berkorban demi kemerdekaan Indonesia, namun mereka dapat berjuang melalui kemampun dan talent yang mereka miliki untuk mengharumkan Tanah air tercinta Indonesia.

Berkaca dari Liem Swie King, sebenarnya ada banyak atlit – atlit Tanah Air yang juga ikut memberikan andil dalam mengharumkan nama Indonesia di kancah Olahraga. Sebut saja Elyas Pical petinju Indonesia, Lisa Rumbewas lifter putri Indonesia, Susi Susanti, Allan Budikusuma, Rudi Hartono, Richard Sambera perenang handal tanah air, Srikandi srikandi panahan, dan lainnya masih banyak lagi. Mereka adalah ” Jendral – jendral olahraga ” yang telah memberikan yang terbaik untuk tanah air.

Indonesia berbangga saat Lagu Kebangsaan di kumandangkan di negara orang lain saat atlit – atlit tanah air meraih prestasi yang membanggakan, Tidak peduli itu sebuah medali perunggu, perak atau emas semua itu berharga dan berarti. Film ” King ” adalah sebuah film yang sangat baik dan berharga untuk setiap atlit yang ingin memberikan yang terbaik untuk Indonesia. Namun tersirat juga dalam film ini mengenai bagaimana kita harus menghargai apa yang telah mereka perjuangkan, apa yang telah mereka lakukan untuk mengharumkan nama bangsa, bagaimana kita harus menghargai. How To Respect – How To Appreciated !!

Bangsa yang besar adalah Bangsa yang tahu bagaimana menghargaiperjuangan atau apa yang telah dilakukan oleh orang – orang yang telah mengharumkan nama Bangsa.

Hal yang sungguh memilukan adalah ketika melihat orang – orang yang telah melakukan hal yang terbaik untuk bangsa ini, namun hidupnya menderita, sakit hati dan lain lain. Beberapa waktu lalu dalam sebuah acara televisi swasta, seorang mantan atlit putri berprestasi indonesia dalam dunia angkat besi menyampaikan dalam wawancara nya bahwa ketika ia meraih prestasi dalam dunia angkat besi, dia dijanjikan mendapatkan sebuah mobil dan ia sangat mengharapkan hadiah ( bonus ) tersebut namun hingga saat ini hal itu belum diterima. Hendrawan mantan seorang atlit bulutangkis indonesia pun mengalami hal yang serupa, tidak adanya apresiasi membuat ia memilih untuk mundur dari kepelatihannya dalam menangani timnas bulutangkis dan hijrah ke Malaysia atau Singapore.

Sebagai putra bangsa Rexy Mainaky cukup sukses menangani timnas bulutangkis Malaysia. Hendarawan could be the next one as a badminton coaches at another country. Guys, How To Respect – How To Appreciated what they have done is very Important. It’s Really Important !!

Indonesia memang mengalami krisis yang sangat rumit sekali. Bukan hanya krisis dalam finance tapi juga sumber daya, kepribadian. Namun harusnya bukan menjadi alasan untuk tidak dapat menghargai orang lain. Dalam tanyangan reality – reality show atau pun infotement, banyak terlihat bagaimana seseorang tidak dapat menghargai orang lain. Tidak dapat menghargai bawahannya, tidak dapat menghargai orang yang lebih rendah status sosialnya, tidak dapat menghargai pendapat dan usaha orang lain.

Hal yang menarik dalam sebuah relaity show di TV swasta yang ditayangkan tiap malam, ada seorang majikan yang cemburu pada suaminya hanya karena sang suami memberikan sebuah penghargaan pada seorang baby sitter karena telah merawat anaknya dengan baik. Keluarga ini menggunakan jasa baby sitter ini karena suami – istri ini sibuk dengan pekerjaan masing masing di kantor. Baby Sitter ini seorang perempuan sederhana yang bekerja dengan tulus untuk mencari uang guna menghidupi dan membiayai adik – adiknya sekolah karena dari keluarga yang tidak mampu. Namun istri majikannya cemberu kepadanya karena suaminya memberikan sebuah hadiah yang notabene itu hanya sebuah apresiasi bukan selingkuh, namun dikira selingku sehingga baby sitter ini dimarah-marah di depan umum. Namun dalam acara reality show tersebut yang baby sitter ini ikut datang untuk memperjelas duduk masalah sebenarnya. Akhirnya istri majikan ini menangis meminta maaf karena telah salah duga, sementara baby sitter ini rela berhenti kerja dari pada dianggap mengganggu.

Jangan hanya karena merasa berkuasa, lebih kaya, lebih punya uang, maka berhak untuk tidak menghargai orang lain, tidak menghargai hak, apa yang telah diperbuat orang dengan tulus. Wowwww …….suatu pelajaran yang sungguh berharga untuk kita semua juga untuk Indonesia.

” Let’s We Respect and Appreciate each other – for what they have done “

Director Isao Yukisada is working on a screen adaptation of author Shuichi Yoshida’s first full-length novel, “Parade,” which won the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize in 2002.

Yukisada has apparently been hoping to make a movie out of the book ever since it was published in 2002. The story revolves around an unusual group of five young adults living together in a 2LDK apartment (two bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen). Despite sharing such a small space, it turns out in the end that they really don’t know much about each other.

Yukisada has assembled a talented young cast for the movie. Tatsuya Fujiwara stars as Naoki, an employee of a film distribution company. Karina plays the illustrator Miki, while Shihori Kanjiya is the unemployed Kotomi and Keisuke Koide is the college student Ryosuke. Around the same time that a string of disturbing incidents occurs in their neighborhood, Miki meets a male prostitute named Satoru (Kento Hayashi), who ends up also living in the apartment.

In addition to directing, Yukisada wrote the screenplay for the adaptation. Filming started on May 15 and will continue until mid-June. The movie is currently scheduled for release in 2010.

9 April  2009 kemarin adalah merupakan event lima tahunan terbesar dan bersejarah bagi bangsa Indonesia. Bagaimana tidak, karena melalui event lima tahunan ini menentukan nasib dan arah bangsa ini. Semua warga negara Indonesia diharuskan menggunakan hak suaranya untuk ikut memilih para calon calon wakil rakyat yang akan duduk di pemerintahan kelak. Semua partai – partai politik mulai berlomba-lomba mengadakan kampanye melalui media televisi, surat kabar, spanduk, dan lain lain. Semua partai politik berlomba-lomba untuk mengemukakan ide, visi dan mimpi serta harapan partai dengan satu tujuan supaya masyarakat melihat bahwa inilah partai yang baik yang layak untuk dipilih. Sungguh sangat meninggalkan kesan yang beraneka ragam saat event bersejarah lima tahunan ini datang dan menghiasi wajah bangsaku. Bakan tidak sedikit para pedagang tas plastik ( alias kresek ) pembuat payung, perusahaan percetakan dan sablon, tenda ( alias terop ) yang banyak  mengerup keuntungan melalui event lima tahunan. Dikarenankan banyaknya partai yang mengusung para wakil wakilnya supaya dapat duduk di dalam kursi DPR, mereka berusaha memikat para simpatisan dengan membagi-bagikan kaos, payung, kresek, membuka tenda dan panggung dengan mendatangkan sejumlah artis Ibukota terkenal. Tidak peduli bagaimana hasil akhir nanti yang penting meriah dan menarik simpatisan terlebih dahulu, walau belum tentu mereka yang telah menerima kaos, payung atau lainnya pada saatnya akan benar-benar memilih mereka. Hal yang sungguh Ironi.

Bahkan ada sebagian orang yang rela mengikuti arak-arakan sepeda motor untuk sebuah kampanye suatu partai bila mereka mendapatkan sejumlah uang lelah ( ongkos ). Yang mereka tuju bukanlah loyalitas pada partai tapi uang, ya maklum dalam situasi seperti ini siapa sih yang tidak memerlukan uang. Hari ini berkampanye dengan partai ” A”  besok berkampanye dengan partai “B”, sederhana supaya mereka mendapatkan uang. Tanpa disadari hal seperti ini menunjukan nilai mereka sebenarnya, mungkin diantara mereka ada yang bernilai dua puluh ribu rupiah, mungkin ada yang bernilai lima puluh ribu rupiah, dan sebagainya. Jika demikian muncul suatu pertanyaan ” apakah tujuan dari kampanye yang berbagai bentuk tersebut ” ???

Bangsaku telah mengalami Krisis dalam banyak hal. Krisis kepercayaan, krisis ekonomi, krisis sumber daya manusia ( SDM ), dll. Mari coba berpikir, kampanye dalam bentuk panggung dan artis, membayar orang untuk kampanye arak-arakan sepeda motor, total berapa kah dana yang dikeluarkan untuk masa-masa kampanye. Nilai Nominal dana tersebut terbuang percuma – tidak ada yang dibuang dan mendatangkan hasil – kenapa tidak digunakan untuk membangun sejumlah sekolah dipedesaan yang masih membutuhkan, rumah sakit- rumah sakit, perkampungan kumuh dan orang-orang miskin serta anak-anak jalanan. Uang tersebut jauh akan lebih bermanfaat dan berdampak ketimbang untuk sebuah hal yang semu. Belum lagi jika diketahui dana kampanye tersebut didapat dari hasil KORUPSI, wah lebih cilaka lagi itu.

Pemilu 9 April 2009, sungguh amat menyedihkan. Sungguh gencar ajakan dan berita di televisi yang mengajak setiap warga negara untuk tidak masuk dalam golongan putih tapi benar-benar menghargai dan menggunakan hak suaranya sebaik mungkin. Tapi ketika dijalankan bukan hanya sepuluh atau segelintir orang yang tidak menggunakan hak suaranya tapi ada ribuan dan hal ini terjadi disejumlah kota di Indonesia. Bukan karena mereka memutuskan untuk menjadi golongan putih, namun dikarenakan mereka tidak di data dan nama mereka tidak terdaftar dalam DPT. Apakah mereka penduduk LIAR ?? Makhluk Alien kah mereka ?? TIDAKKK…….mereka penduduk yang memiliki KTP setempat dan pemilu tahun lalu mereka ikut memberikan suaranya, bahkan pemilu gubernur mereka masih ikut menggunakan suaranya. Di Jakarta ada suatu kampung yang seluruh penduduknya tidak terdataoleh DPT untuk memilih padahal mereka bukan pendatang, mereka penduduk asli. Belum lagi msalah Kotak suara yang tertukar antara TPS disuatu daerah dengan TPS di daerah lain. Apakah pemilu ini sebuah Sandiwara, Lelucon seperti Srimulat ?? Seperti membeli sebuah barang di sebuah supermarket yang kalau ada barang tertukar dapat di kembalikan ?? Ada supermarket tertentu yang memiliki peraturan barang yang sudah dibeli tidak dapat dikembalikan atau di tukar. Penyelesaian KPU  yang cenderung terkesan menyepelekan, menggampangkan – atau mungkin mereka yang duduk di KPU adalah orang-orang yang gampangan alias murahan ya tidak berkualitas tidak ada tanggung jawab ???!!

Lihatlah wajah Indonesia, wajah negara dimana kita tinggal, hidup dan mati – haruskah kita yang tidak ingin menggunakan hak memilih untuk perbaikan wajah Indonesia ini berganti warga kenegaraan karena terkesan sengaja tidak di data padahal  pintu rumah selalu terbuka untuk didata- atau seperti sampai ada kotak suara yang disimpan di suatu rumah disuatu TPS.

Sebagian orang yang tidak terdata mengucapkan, tidak apa tidak terdata untuk memilih pada pemilu 9 April 2009 kan itu hanya pemilu untuk para CALEG. Kalau dipilih ya mereka akan menjadi Calon Legislatif, Tapi Kalau tidak terpilih yang mereka tetap menjadi CALEG = CALON LEGREG. Dari pada ntar memilih caleg tapi ntar kerjaannya hanya tidur waktu rapat di DPR atau tidak datang rapat makan gaji buta ya lebih baik tidak memilih tidak apa tidak menyesal. Sbab itu berhati hatilah terhadap pilihan kita. Ada partai yang menggemborkan partainya adalah orang-orang yang suci tapi tidak lama ditemukan salah satu anggotanya ada di sebuah panti pijat.

Berhati-hati terhadap pilihan dan siapa yang dipilih adalah hal yang sangat penting, Suara kita menentukan nasib bangsa yang kita cintai. Suara kita sangat berharga sekali bukan seharga dua puluh ribu rupiah. Indonesia needs a Restoration – Indonesia Needs a Visioner Leader not Lazy Leader or Money Leader – Indonesia needs a Good Leader with Character and Responsabelity- Are You Good Indonesian Citizen ??? Do the best things for Indonesian for your Lovely Country. I Love Indonesia – I always cry for you – for my lovely country

Who’s gonna be The Next President of Indonesia ? Is in Your Hands – You Choose….!!!

There is no other ways in this world that we should do, Just Be Strong. And we always heard that words when we had alots of problem, somebody might be said this words “Be Strong”. 

When You  are weak – You have to be Strong. When You are failed at your work or at your school – You have to Strong. When you under presure – You have to be Strong. When somebody that you love is leaving you – You have to be Strong. When your parents die – You have to be Strong. When people walk away from you because of something that you never made it – You have to be Strong. In everything we have to be Strong. Let we know and learn something today – for everything that’s happened in our life it will make you stronger, stronger, and stronger than before. You are not the one who have a big problem, all people in this world – they have alots and facing alots of problem. So, put your heads up – say something for yourself – You have to be Strong.

Coba saja lihat apa yang terjadi dalam kehidupan manusia hari-hari ini. Banyak diantara mereka yang mengharapkan sesuatu terjadi dalam hidup mereka, tetapi justru yang tidak mereka harapkanlah yang terjadi dalam hidup mereka. Dan hal tersebut memberikan dampak yang bermacam-macam. Sebuah contoh apa yang terjadi beberapa waktu yang lalu setelah acara besar  Indonesia setiap lima tahun. Termuat dalam beberapa suarat kabar, setidaknya ada lima orang CALEG yang terdaftar ataupun yang mendatangi Rumah Sakit Jiwa untuk dan itu belum termasuk data mereka yang telah dirawat. Hal tersebut dikarenakan mereka takut dan tidak siap bila mereka gagal karena tidak sedikit uang yang sudah mereka keluarkan untuk mencalonkan dirinya sebagai CALEG di daerahnya. Mereka tidak siap menerima kenyataan yang tidak sesuai dengan apa yang diharapkan. Juga seorang anggota Panwaslu yang meninggal setelah penghitungan suara di TPS nya. Keluarganya pun tidak siap menerima keadaan dan kenyataan yang terjadi.

Seorang ibu bernama Ibu Aswati, pasti memiliki suatu pengharapan dalam hidup keluarganya bersama suami dan anak-anaknya. pengharapan akan sebuah perbaikan ekonomi keluarga. Hal itu terlihat dari bagaimana begitu kerasnya suami ibu Aswati ini bekerja sebagai seorang mandor di sebuah pabrik. Ia berusaha menjadi seorang mandor yang baik, teladan, berkarakter baik, tampil beda tidak seperti mandor-mandor kebanyakan. Ada yang malas, mencuri, tidak disiplin dll. Lambat laun karena kredibilitas kerja suami nya yang begitu baik, perekonomian keluarga Ibu Aswati memulai membaik. Tidak salah bila Ibu Aswati terus menaruh pengharapan dan doa agar perekonomian keluarganya terus membaik. Namun suatu saat ketika suaminya bekerja di pabrik, beberapa orang mulai tidak senang terhadap suaminya. Hingga ketika malam tiba, Ibu Aswati dan suaminya makan malam bersama dengan anak-anaknya. Segerombolan orang-orang yang tidak senang kepada suami ibu Aswati ini, mendatangi rumahnya dan menghajar habis-habisan suami ibu Aswati hingga terluka parah sekali. Sempat dibawa kerumah sakit namun sudah tidak dapat tertolong lagi dian suam ibu Aswati ini meninggal. Dimana-mana selalu dan pasti ada hal seperti ini, saat kita berusaha bekerja sebaik mungkin pasti ada saja orang yang dengki, iri melihat keadaan kita.

Sakit yang paling amat dalam pastilah dirasakan oleh Ibu Aswati, karena dengan meniggalnya sang suami berarti hilang sudah harapan dan mimpinya untuk merasakan perbaikan ekonomi keluarga terlebih anak-anak yang masih kecil. Sebuah ketakutan menghadapi masa depan dan tantangan untuk membesarkan anak-anak menghinggapi hati Ibu Aswati. Sebagai seorang wanita Ibu Aswati hanya menangis, menangis , dan menangi. Takut , goya dll itu yang ada dalam pikiran dan benak Ibu Aswati. Namun, ternyata Ibu Aswati tidak mau larut di dalam penderitaannya walau ia sendiri mengerti dan sadar bahwa begitu beratnya perjuangan hidup yang harus dilaluinya. Bahkan mungkin sedikit diantara kita yang mampu bertahan dari masalah seperti yang dihadapi oleh Ibu Aswati. Ibu Aswati memuat sebuah keputusan untuk tidak larut dalam penderitaannya, ia memulai menata hidup keluarga dan memikirkan membesarkan anak-anaknya dan menyekolahkannya. Ibu Aswati dengan uang pesangon yang di dapat dari pabrik dimana suaminya bekerja, ia mulai membuat minuman es dibungkus disebuah plastik dan dijual keliling sambil bersepeda. Dan itu dilakukannya dengan gigih dan semangat yang luar biasa.

Hal yang luar biasa lagi dari Ibu Aswati dan patut dicontoh oleh siapa pun kita adalah bagaimana Ibu Aswati ini dengan rajin mengunjungi orang yang telah membunuh suaminya di penjara dan membawakannya makanan di sebuah rantang. Orang yang sudah membunuh suaminya yang pantas untuk kita benci, kita perlakukan setimpal, tapi Ibu Aswati sungguh luar biasa……Ibu Aswati mengunjungi orang yang telah membunuh suaminya dan membuat hidup keluarganya hancur, juga Ibu Aswati membawakanny makanan dan itu dilakukannya dengan rutin tiap minggu. LUAAAAARRRR …………… BIAAAASSAAAA………….Ibu Aswati sungguh KUAT menghadapi pergumulan hidup ini. Dan sikapnya sungguh patut kita teladani – bahwa sesungguhnya dendam, benci, amarah, geram, tidaklah akan mengubah keadaan yang telah terjadi.
