Most of my recipes are from Europe. I grew up surrounded by grown ups who always cooked and baked. There was nothing my mom and aunts couldn’t make in the kitchen. Those cakes are always my favorite. A lot of pies and cakes from the stores I find to be overrated-too sweet, same flavors and boring. They surely look good but taste nasty.SO even today I make my own cakes and pies that people can’t get enough of.
This is one of my favorite apple pies. It’s easy to make and you can play with it around as much as you want.
You need:
3 Eggs
Abt 1,75 cups of sugar
Flour 2 cups
1 tbs baking powder
200 g of melted butter
5 Big apples
Jam if you wish

How you make it:
First you make a dough. You separate yorks from whites. You beat yorks with .75 cup of sugar until creamy and add melted butter to it,1 tbs of baking powder. Also, note, you don’t have to add much sugar.Your filling and meringue might be sweet enough.Depends on the taste. Then you add about 2 cups of flower. Divide the dough on 2 parts. One part should be much bigger than another one. Small part we use for garnish. Then put the dough to the fridge for about 30 min. Meanwhile, prepare your filling. In the pan add water and sugar( 1water: .5 sugar), and boil until goldish; add peeled ,sliced apples and vanilla,a bit of wine if you wish. When you like the texture of the apples-it’s ready.
Then beat until ready whites and 1 cup of sugar. You know it’s ready when the bowl with the mixture is turned upside down and the mixture does not move.))))) IT’s fun to do. Or you can just check it with your spoon.
Take a round deep baking pan. With your hands smooth out the biggest part of the dough. And cook in the oven until ready (350F). It’s usually 20 minutes. After it’s goldish, take it out.. Add apples and then smooth out the whites mixture nicely on the top. After, garnish your left dough with the help of the slicer on the top of the whites. Place the pie back into the oven, but this time it should be 450F. It’s usually ready in 5-10 minutes. Take it out,let it cool.
Have your yummy pie!!!
p.s. you can use peach, cherry, cream cheese..anything you want for this pie.
The dough is one of my favorites..you can make cookies with it, cakes..possibilities are endless. It’s crumbly and melts in the mouth.Stick around and I’ll show you more of my fab. recipes.

First of all, Happy Thanksgiving! Growing up, my family spent every Thanksgiving with my father’s side of the family at my grandma and grandpa’s house. Ever since they passed away, their presence has been missed, especially around this time. But, their legacy lives on through their nine children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so on. This time around, I can’t be home in Oklahoma to spend the day with my beautiful, loving family. But, in remembrance of my grandparents, a short video made my yours truly. How thankful I am for my entire family, for life, for faith, for the world, for friends, for art, for love, for health, for books, for food, for coffee, for diet coke, for Apple computers & Canon cameras, for my brown high top shoes, for Lolita Lempicka, for music, for my car, for chocolate, for soft serve ice cream, for conditioner, well, you get the point. : )

I am currently (with Amy Elrod & Will Roberts) working on my first full-length documentary, Rainbow Town. This article, from Lee’s Summit Journal, is about a fundraiser called A Rainbow Town Evening that Amy organized in Kansas City. The proceeds made from the night are going to help pay for our crew’s trip back to Liberia this December. We leave on the 12th and will be there for Christmas! One of the main goals of the trip is to show the documentary to our subjects. Most African films are never screened in Africa, which is so unfortunate on so many levels. We want to stop this trend. We want our subjects to be the very first to see the film.

Stage Three comprises of the moving away from disney to work on characterising the artworks themselves. As an obvious choice due to the success of the artist’s work commercially, I have chosen Damien Hirst. Also I’d been working with him before and he is relevant right now due to everyone hating his new paintings.

New characters:

These then culminate in a scene with damien hirst and his new paintings:

So I don’t really know how to talk about this work that well, but basically it portrays these characters who we feel sorry for due to Hirst’s disregard for them and also the fact that they have personality compared to the new works. I do however feel sorry for the new works as they’ve been given such a slating, I think they’re quite good myself, and its nice to see achange from Hirst. I also believe that the works are hated so much becuase they’re something we’re not used to, traditional painting. This is so very different from what is around right now. And I believe it is so in a good way. It looks back to Bacon and artists of that era or before with a nostalgic mindset.

This piece of art reflects his throwing aside of his other works. It might be interesting to create characters of the new works instead as they will become heroes to the next generation as supposed to his earlier works being my artistic heroes.

Stage Two comprises in the destruction of my wall drawings, enabling them to never be marketed as the measurements can no longer be made, and the hanging of a collector’s item over them.

These progress the destruction and also the beauty in destruction. The dots move from their spot on the wall to one on the cleaning of the silkscreen. I find it incredibly beautiful. The new triptych is hung over where the destruction took place, an ode to the obvious interest in the new and discarding of the old.

Stage one includes evidence of my work continuing from already completed materials, mainly to do with Fountain.

First is a picture of me with balloon, an excited boy whose ecstatic to see fountain for real possibly? Second is a wall drawing of fountain with hirst dots all over it. Third is a fountain playing a basketball whistle and wearing fetching mickey mouse gloves: A kind of cheerleader for newer pieces of art? Fourth is a wrecked studio, putting across my feelings and attempts to be able not to sell something, a concept. Upon coming in the next day I found Carrie drawing a chalkline around it, making it sellable as it can be measured.

Well today we got some more of the photo shoot come across our screens and god damn does this make me want to buy a newspaper. Why Megan Fox is doing this for The New York Times is beyond me but thank god she is… and thank god she can do that with her legs.

[Esmée's POV] When I was three, I decided that I’d become a professional dancer. To be perfectly hon

[Esmée's POV]

When I was three, I decided that I’d become a professional dancer. To be perfectly honest, I don’t remember how or why that thought ever crossed my mind, but I’m quite glad it did. Dancing comes natural to me the way singing in the shower does to some people. When all the clothes are taken off, the world around you seems to be shut down, too. You are left alone with yourself, and then the music comes. Most of the time you don’t even realise that you’re singing, until your voice becomes too loud that you start to hear people shouting “Shut up!”. Of course, you are not going to stop just because people ask you to, because their response doesn’t matter all that much. Besides, you love singing in the shower, and that counts.

There is a slight difference between dancing and singing in the shower though: as a dancer, you don’t shower alone. Instead, you’ll be with your partner, your bodies tangled and your souls as one. Partnership between two dancers can only be achieved when both learn to give up their defences and show the other the most vulnerable side of them. That leads to a problem I myself am facing: I have never been able to be naked in that shower with Andrea Moss.

–
“Ez-mae” Andrea said my name, huskily as if it wasn’t real. Her blue eyes are set on mine, so bright that I could feel the perplexity in them reflected by my own.
“Small world, eh?” I heard my voice, escaping my throat as a soft whisper, my eyes never leaving Andrea’s. I’m not going to lie: when I accepted the offer to be Kat’s assistant, I never saw this happen. This bar, ARTSY, had become a place for me to remind myself that dancing wasn’t the only thing my life was about, and Andrea wasn’t the only girl my eyes could see. Yet here she was, that righteous pride did not once vanish from her face, her auburn locks were in a mess, just like the thoughts, right then, racing in my mind.
“You guys know each other?”
Andrea blinked; her eyes changed their direction to meet Kat’s. I mirrored her action, my mouth muscles forcing a smile before I, too, looked at Kat, trying to appear semi-normal.
“Andrea and I are dance partners.”
“Esmée never said she worked here!”
We spoke at the same time, disguised tenseness evident in both our voices.
“And it seems like we have great partnership” I giggled, consciously adding one more layer of defence to my camouflage. To make myself more convincing, I turned my head to face Andrea, giving her my best grin, only to see her returning me with a small smile, one that I’d never seen before. Andrea had never smiled at me. In fact, all she ever offered me were a few half-hearted movements of muscles and some occasional snickers. I made her feel uncomfortable, I think. Most Americans do when they hear British accent, so I guess I couldn’t blame Andrea for that. There was one thing I couldn’t quite understand though: while I thought an irritated Andrea was the most adorable thing one could ever see, how was it possible for a smiling Andrea to be so much more delightful?

Andrea Moss had become a brand here in VSA. Right when I walked through the door to enter the school, Andrea was everywhere: A photo of her was on the wall at the main entrance, together with other supposedly “legends” of VSA; her name was mentioned in most gossips that I heard and of course, the audition announcement. The first impression that I had of Andrea, without even meeting her, was that in VSA, she was a symbol of popularity, of perfection, of beauty, talent and, as a matter of fact, lesbianism. I’m not even sure if it hadn’t been my curiosity that had gotten the best of me, would I still have gone to the audition? There was one thing I knew for certain though: when Andrea caught my eyes, I found out that the rumours I heard were all true: Andrea Moss was a goddess, and also a gay one. Interestingly enough: so was I.

Someone’s sudden laughter brought me back to reality. Noticing the puzzled look on both Andrea’s and my face, Kat quickly ceased her laughing and cleared her throat. Throwing me an inquisitive glance, she questioned: “You called her Ahn-dre-ah?” she chuckled and turned to Andrea “And you call her… what? Ez-mae?”
“Isn’t that her name?” Andrea suddenly called out. The next thing I knew, Andrea’s attention was directed to me, her eyes inquisitive. “Is that your name?”
Uh-oh!

“My name is Esmée Victoria Russell. Most people call me by my middle name, Victoria, or its short form, Tori” I spoke slowly, enjoying the look of pure enlightenment on Andrea’s and Kat’s faces. Feeling the need to spice up our encounter, I decided to add some humour “My grandma and you” I looked at Andrea “call me Esmée.”
Worked as a charm! Right when I finished my sentence, Kat split her sides. She had a nice laugh, I must say. In fact, Kat had always been a charming lady. She has everything a girl could ever wish for: beauty, judgement, good nature, humour and, of course, financial securities. Not only that, she also possesses an attitude of a rock star, what had made her the centre of attention for anyone that ever visited ARTSY, and the object of affection for many of them. To be quite frank, since Kat fitted every “criteria” that I once set for my dream partner when I was a child, I actually thought we could make a delightful couple. If only I hadn’t already been…

“Uhm… I’m going to the bathroom.”
Andrea’s voice always did a good job of making me forget everything else. This time, when my head had sufficient time to turn to face her, Andrea had turned on her heels. I watched her retreating back and the way her auburn curls bounced against her exposed shoulder. My whole life of dancing and trying to control my body had taught me well. I knew that gait: her arms muscles were tense, her shoulders moving up and down faster, so was her breathing, her footsteps quickened. Andrea was on edge. I had yet again made her uncomfortable.
However, this wasn’t the Andrea that I saw. She wasn’t the conceited judge who yawned during the audition and she certainly wasn’t the egotistical dancer who pouted when someone tried to correct her pronunciation. In fact, she was much like the girl whose body I held and skin I touched on the dance floor, the girl whose intensity set my mind on fire. She was the Andrea that I knew.

“Sub me for a while, I’ll be right back!” said Kat, the second person to turn her back on me and walk away in less than a minute. “Andie!” she called.

Andie.

–

The first thing I learnt in dance class was how to loosen my body and let myself let go. Dancers like me come across as having multiple personalities. We can be just anyone on stage: a princess, an angel, a devil, an ordinary person, a dream. Most people can’t see us the way we really are behind the smiling faces and bewitching makeup. You see, it’s all about the acting. Once you get to the stage, the tears and agony behind it are gone. Well, they should be, because up there, the mask is all that matters. As far as I know, both Andrea and I are very good at keeping up with the play. However, there was one thing I was determined to do: to take off Andrea’s mask.

At 3pm we moved to casualpoet cafe. It was their last day of operations and it would be closed down indefinitely for renovation and re-branding. The rundown rathole on the 3rd floor of a shophouse quickly won me over with its rustic charm. The love and attention showered from the owners was palpable in every single detail, from the hammered together shelves to the artfully placed sketches and posters…and the whopping LCD TV.

Pretty soon we were settled down, plugged in and mugging there as if we had done so for our whole lives. I only wish I had dropped by sooner to read their collection of novels and listen to their eclectic mix of music, while sipping coffee. C’est la vie!

I got the calm vibes and mugging was fairly successful. It helped that a year 4 cs senior was singing while her guy friend strummed the guitar. Jin was there and so were two other seniors Jia Min and Tracy who *drumroll………* happen to be from Chung Cheng too!!! Such a small world! Meeting cchms ppl is always so exciting…

Le sigh…one thing stuck, he said Year 2 Sem 2 is gonna fly by and pretty soon Professional Internship would come knocking. By then I’d better be clear and source for my own PI or else! And he said I’m too nice, is that a bad thing? I don’t think so =) for one I get to hang out with cool/crappy seniors like him.

May develop this later. These two pieces stemmed from the cel idea. They work by playing the character of the fountain against the recognisable mickey mouse. In the first, the fountain is given two ears, in the second the pipes of the urinals make a mickey mouse emblem.

Simply a small mickey mouse wall painting.

The above is a reaction to disney balloons. It is however not a reaction against, but merely a celebration of commercial success.

That is something that must be stressed in my work, it is not to put down anything, it is truthful and happy that disney has become such a huge prominence in society (thats worded poorly, but the jist is that I like disney, and my work is intended to celebrate and appreciate the hard work that the collective minds at disney have produce over the years). bracketed bit is far superior to normal sentence,

(i like the balloon) There’s a certain beauty to something as shiny and reflective as this. It reminds me of Koons work, an artist which I admire greatly and think is along the same lines in regards to opinion to commercialism. The balloon piece has to reference him as his work includes a variety of inflatables. My work is maybe saying that instead of deceiving people with fake inflatable objects, I choose to have the real thing. This maybe says something about me as a person as I trust people and expect people to trust me. I do not wish to play with people’s perceptions.

This piece was to emphasise the art as the celebrity, the moving away from the artist as the celebrity. Inside the book is a collection of Duchamp’s most famous works names scribed as signatures. The viewer is encouraged to imagine their own disneyland filled with Duchamp works instead of characters; duchampland.
