My bread and butter is rock but I also love Reggae, R&#38;B, Blues, Classical, Vocal music, and even Jazz and Bluegrass in small doses. As mentioned though, I love Rock the most; hard-driving, intense, hacked-off, loud rock.</p>
<p>I never really liked Heavy Metal growing up. Some of my favorites  were: Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Little Feat, Led Zepplin, and Sly and the Family Stone. In the 80&#8217;s I inexplicably fell in love with Disco, then Rap and as Rap became increasingly vulgar, I slowly turned back to Rock. As I and  most of my peers started listening to Classic Rock and turning their nose up to the new Rock  a funny thing happened. Kellye&#8217;s cousin Preston, a few years younger than myself, ( he and I had always sent each other music), sent me a cassette tape (yeah) of Pantera. He said in the  accompanying note; that it would seem extremely heavy but to give it a chance. It was and I did,  it slowly grew on me, and before long I was listening and enjoying all sorts of thrash, hard rock, and Metal.</p>
<p>Then I heard POD and everything changed.</p>
<p>Before that a  friend of mine was always ragging on me and saying; how could I listen to the music I did ( Sevendust, White Zombie, Godsmack, Slipknot, etc.) and be a strong Christian? My standard comeback was that I just enjoyed the music, and that I didn&#8217;t listen to the lyrics, most that you couldn&#8217;t understand anyway. He did cause me to start feeling pangs of conscious however. I heard about a good music edit program that I downloaded  and  started editing all the bad stuff out of the songs. I did that for a couple of years, drawing much ribbing from Raleigh for my  pitiful editing skills, butchering to pieces songs like House of Pain&#8217;s Jump, and Manson&#8217;s Mobscene. Anyway, back to POD.  I got into them and others: Blindside, Living Sacrifice and  realized that there was tons of good music out there where I didn&#8217;t have to listen to a bunch of cussing, dark lyrics, devilish subject matter, and just plain darkness.  Matter of fact, the more I investigated and searched , I found there was absolutely a barrage of  such music out there.</p>
<p>Below I  have listed my favorite bands. I hope, if you haven&#8217;t heard some or any of the them, you&#8217;ll check them out. Their MySpace sites are a good place to sample, or  ITunes.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve listed first the group, a brief description, Hardmeter (10 would be the heaviest possible and 1 would be peaceful, chilled out, devo music), my favorite 2 songs by the group, the best line or the best part, the CD it comes from, and then a few songs that are really good but didn&#8217;t make my top 2.</p>
<p>Caveat #1. My definition of a Christian band. Most of the bands are not &#8220;Christian &#8221; bands, i.e. that would be on the top 10 Christian sellers for the week or up for Dove awards. I don&#8217;t think any on the list are, maybe with the exception of Pillar. The MO for these bands is that most or all of the band members are Christians and their songs are about God and/or living the Christian life. There lyrics range from bold, in your face, calling you out Christian lyrics, and testimony ( Sleeping Giant) to very vague lyrics that you wouldn&#8217;t even know were about God unless you were a fan of the band (Underoath).</p>
<p>Caveat  #2:  Bone up on your internet lyric -finding skills because you&#8217;re going to need that with most of these bands.</p>
<p><em><strong>Sleeping Giant</strong></em></p>
<p>Every song  SG does is about God&#8217;s Kingdom, every one. They&#8217;re not vague about it either. <strong>Hard meter</strong> 8<em><strong> </strong></em>on the hardest stuff but they have several chill-type praise tunes; O Praise Him, He Will Reign.<em><strong> </strong></em>If you want to get revived in your faith and like this kind of music, these guys are the ticket<em><strong>.<br />

<p>NJ&#8217;s CD&#8217;s have gradually got less hard with each successive one.Their absolute hardest, brutal, math core-esque was their 1st 2 cds which feature the top 2 most played songs on my ITunes account: Memphis Will be Laid to Waste, and Face: Face. Their CD Redeemer is still hard but the most blatantly Christian. <strong>Hard meter: </strong>8 <em><strong><br />

<p>Very hard but just as with just about all Christian heavy music, it has a goodness, a wholesomeness that non-Christian bands noticeably lack. You would think that would be true huh?<em><strong> </strong></em>You definitely need the lyric sheet with these guys and it makes it all the more awesome when you find out what they&#8217;re saying alongside such monster guitar riffs and frenetic drum runs.<em><strong> Hardmeter 9<br />

They, even though scream-rock, have a very wholesome quality which exudes goodness and love ( see songs below) We&#8217;ve seen these guys live several times and have been very impressed with them off-stage. They have a holler-guy and a sing guy like a lot of hardcore bands these days. <strong>Hard meter</strong> 6.5 <em><strong><br />

After that, they&#8217;ve gone too commercial, and lamed out. Those 1st 2 CD&#8217;s are good though, especially <em>Silence </em>which is packed with great stuff.<strong><em> </em>Hardmeter</strong> See above<strong><em><br />

<p>These guys are probably the most commercially popular of anyone on my list, their CD&#8217;s going high up the Billboard charts, Grammy awards, and Gold records. My favorite cd is Define the Great Line which is really good, packed with killer songs. My next favorite is <em>They&#8217;re Only Chasing Safet</em>y. Their earlier stuff is  Hardcore Screamo which I don&#8217;t really love. These guys headlined the Warped Tour when it was in Nashville a few years ago<em><strong>.</strong></em>They&#8217;re the real deal musically.<em><strong> </strong></em><strong>Hardmeter </strong><em><strong>7<br />

<p>I bought this CD early in my Christian Rock evolution,unheard, on the recommendation of some 13 year old hardcore/Christian kid at one of Jordans soccer games when he was about 10. I got home with it, cranked it up, heard the Living Sacrifice version of the devo-song <em>I am Not My Own</em> and freaked out. <em>It was about the most awesome thing I had ever heard!</em> Praise to God in absolutely SLAMMING, breakdown, monster riff, stop-start beats, with absolutely no commercial ambitions, only to crank as hard as possible and to glorify God. Raleigh has met these guys and says they appear to be the real deal, really friendly, accessible, humble, and God fearing. <em><strong><br />

<p>These guys are from Elizabethtown Tn. Their 1st CD <em>A Chorus of Obliteration</em> (<strong>HM</strong> 9) was really heavy but their 2nd <em>Temptation Comes My Way (<strong>HM</strong> 6.5)</em> is more Southern Heavy Rock, way, way more melodic with very little screaming. Great guitar work.</p>

<p>This group has a good mix of screaming (almost a screech) and singing, and really good guitar driven, breakdown, hardcore rock<em><strong>. </strong></em>They are one of Raleigh&#8217;s favorites. He saw them, and As I Lay Dying at one show. Wow. Their name comes from the lyrics in the Hymn <em>It is Well With my Soul. </em>I read this: they asked a band member to leave the band because he no longer believed in Christ and they didn&#8217;t feel that worked with their purpose as a band. You wouldn&#8217;t think of that type commitment when you hear these guys because they are so hard but that&#8217;s  why we shouldn&#8217;t judge by appearances. ;0) <strong>Hardmeter 8.5</strong><em><strong><br />

<p>Heute war wieder eine meiner verhassten 4-Stunden-Nächte, diesmal so schlimm dass ich unter der Dusche As I Lay Dying¹ hören musste, um irgendwie wach zu werden. Anschließend frühstückte ich mit Musik von In Flames, Kaffee und der Zeitung. Überschrift auf der Titelseite: &#8220;Zu wenig Schlaf macht dick und dumm&#8221; &#8211; Na danke!</p>
<p>Auf der Autobahn war natürlich Stau, und ohne meine Kommolitonen hätte ich mir wahrscheinlich ein Bein abknabbern müssen, um die MuWi-Vorlesung wach zu überstehen.</p>
<p>Die Strecke von der HfM zur Uni haben wir natürlich nicht in den dafür eingeplanten 15 Minuten geschafft, sodass wir etwas zu spät zu Linguistics kamen. Aber doch noch rechtzeitig, um sich in die Anwesenheitsliste einzutragen &#8211; und ein Mid Exam zu schreiben. Ich hatte mir natürlich ausgerechnet die Lernmaterialien zum Thema des Tests <em>nicht</em> angeschaut, wär ja auch zu schön gewesen. Naja, muss ich halt gucken dass ich das zweite Mid Exam bestehe&#8230;</p>
<p>Und um diese Verkettung von Umständen nun vollends zur Tragödie werden zu lassen, habe ich gerade in Ungedanken, anstatt zwei Spam-Mails zu verschieben, meinen kompletten Posteingang unwiederbringlich gelöscht!</p>
<p>Das klingt jetzt schon nach einem erfüllten Disaster-Tag, aber es ist jetzt gerademal halb 3. Hoffentlich geht der Rest des Tages nicht genauso weiter!</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Fascist art is the unwanted child of expressionism and stringent rule following, pressed and molded under the boot heel of totalitarian propaganda.  Break the grip of one or the other on the imagination of the artist, and we can, finally, get back to the business of creating humanist art.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Let me elaborate.  Expressionism is concerned with the primacy of emotional expression in the creation and consumption of art.  It is not concerned with description as much as metaphysical prescription of what is valuable, and what it is to value.  It is not hard to see that unmoored from some sense of reality and allegiance to it, expressionism can be pressed into any shape whatsoever.  Consider: What is Jackson Pollock&#8217;s entire oeuvre, if not a tip o&#8217; the hat to just such a proposition?</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">We are still friends; humanists, all, even now.  But add on rule following, that will not break its own apparatus of practice and we have a subtly mixed but no less-volatile compound.  Rules cannot recuse the follower from his obligation to forsake such and such a rule due to some other lexically prior right or obligation.  The rule, &#8220;traffic allowing, turn right on a red light&#8221; does not prescribe how long one should follow this rule or where one should follow it.  It is only the dogmatic lover of right turns and red lights who would follow that rule to the end of the world, the end of his days.  This man is, of course, the artist for whom expression is the only worthwhile value, and as a consequence, expressionism is his aesthetic.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Here and there, some Augustus will establish a totalitarian regime that attaches its instruments on the coerced bodies, and suspicious minds of the chosen many.  If for some artist the only value is expression and expressionism and it can be molded to fit any need, and rules are followed though lives be lost, is it not possible that Augustus himself could set upon this artist all the riches of the land to do what, for him, is his own good?  &#8220;Set about painting the social beneficnce of war and complete drawings that speak to the communal benefits of relenting during protest; I will give you your audience.  They are the people; they are you.&#8221;   Those people, their eyes pried open, gorge on so  much declamatory art, celebrating in signs and screed so little that is kind and humane.</p>

<p>In this brilliant 1930 novel, Faulkner tells the story of a rural Mississippi family on a mission to haul their mother’s body in its coffin to her native Jefferson, where she had requested burial. But Addie Bundren tells us, after her death, that this is her way of taking revenge on them. In a series of missteps told through multiple narrators in both present and past tenses, Faulkner reveals not only Addie’s revenge, but each character’s inner workings and the faceted ways they view each other.</p>
<p>Faulkner’s willingness to explore various techniques for this novel opened doors for me to the possible ways of structuring a story. His multiple narrators, for example, each given their own chapters, give the reader unusual insight into the characters pursuing this absurd journey. Through the voice and perception of each one, the use of repetition and irony, and a paucity of information that makes the reader work hard for understanding, Faulkner effects a stunning novel that blazed new trails for both writers and readers.</p>
<p>Placing the “Addie” chapter at almost exactly two-thirds through the novel was a brilliant strategy. Addie is the missing piece of the puzzle; her words clarify the other characters’ actions. Once we know Addie’s real feelings, we can see how she’s taking revenge on her family by having them make this journey. Yet Faulkner then gives us an ironic ending: the revenge is only effected upon Darl, a sympathetic character who is taken away to an insane asylum. Darl seems the most together of the whole clan and the most like his mother, intelligent and philosophical. Anse Bundren, the father, whose behavior has been amoral (taking his children’s money and his son’s hard-earned horse), gets exactly what he wants in the end—false teeth and a new wife—even before Addie’s grave is a day old. Which is sort of how things are in life, the creeps often win. We don’t want our endings to be too tidy.</p>
<p>Jewel, Addie’s illegitimate son who dearly loved her, was treated with irony too, but in a different way than Darl: via character rather than plot. Jewel’s eyes were frequently described as wooden, his body wooden-backed, and he said little—but his actions exhibited the most passion of all the siblings. (And his name was a perfect choice: hard, rigid, but filled with splendor.) I’m rethinking my treatment of my characters with irony in mind—but then that’s what makes literature literature.</p>
<p>Repetition, which Faulkner uses masterfully, is a technique I’ve been taking careful note of in my readings. When done well, it makes the point and acts as an emotional tag to remind the reader of an earlier passage or moment in time. It was most often used by other characters in regard to Jewel. The neighbor Vernon Tull also repeats his razor-edge perception of Anse: “It’s like a man that’s let everything slide all his life to get set on something that will make the most trouble for everybody he knows.” (89)</p>
<p>Faulkner’s use of language is inspirational too. Many passages struck me, such as in the very beginning when Darl describes Jewel’s encounter with his horse (“enclosed by a glittering maze of hooves as by an illusion of wings”). His descriptions of the flooded river, which kills the mules and nearly kills Cash, and of the fire Darl sets to the barn containing the coffin, were riveting and well paced.</p>
<p>It seems absurd to criticize Faulkner, but as others have noted, I thought many passages were obscure and would not have survived a writing workshop. Take this passage spoken by the youngest brother, Vardaman, for example: “Pa said flour and sugar and coffee costs so much. Because I am a country boy because boys in town. Bicycles.” (66) (What??) That said, however, I thoroughly applaud Faulkner for taking the risks that enabled us to learn from him.</p>

<description><![CDATA[So here we are, preparing for Halloween in a little under a week, and more then 3/4 of the way throu]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>So here we are, preparing for Halloween in a little under a week, and more then 3/4 of the way through the year. So far 2009 has seen the release of some great albums, everything from Eyes Set to Kill&#8217;s <em>The Outside World</em>, to Killswitch Engage&#8217;s second self titled album, and The Agonist&#8217;s sophmore effort <em>Lullabies for the Dormant Mind.</em> That&#8217;s not all though, dozens of other great albums have been released this year, so what&#8217;s left? Well I have part of an answer to that question and it is, TONS! There is still plenty of more to come from the music industry in the coming months, most to be out before the end of the year.</p>
<p>First up is Atreyu. Atreyu has been in the studio since mid/late-summer working on their next album, <em>Congregation of the Damned. </em>Since mid September Atreyu has released three seperate singles for this album; <strong>Storm to Pass, Stop, Before It&#8217;s Too Late and We&#8217;ve Destroyed it All, </strong>and most recently <strong>Gallows. </strong>From the songs released Atreyu&#8217;s new album is shaping up to be a good one.  <strong>Gallows, </strong>Atreyu&#8217;s latest single release, is only available through an online video game, Call of Duty: Metalhead Zombies. The current release date for <em>Congregation of the Damned </em>is October 27th, though in a recent blog Atreyu said the album will be available the 26th at select locations.</p>
<p>Another iminent release is <em>Memento Mori</em>, Flyleaf&#8217;s sophmore effort. Flyleaf&#8217;s second album has been up in the air for sometime now, at one point it was pressed the album was to be released back in Febuary. Since then the album has again picked up. The only single to be released from Texas&#8217;s hard rock band is <strong>Again.</strong> That&#8217;s not all from the album though, Flyleaf has gone and actually released fifteen-sixteen second snipets of two other songs from <em>Memnto Mori. </em>For the time being it seems Flyleaf has stuck with there more upbeat hard rock sound, but that&#8217;s not for sure yet. We&#8217;ll just have to wait and see what <em>Memento Mori </em>brings from Flyleaf. Currently the album is set to drop November 10th.</p>
<p>Perhaps surprisingly the next band on my list is My Chemical Romance. That&#8217;s right, after three years My Chemical Romance is finally releasing a new album. Don&#8217;t expect it to be the traditional emo-punk soud though. In several interviews Gerard Way has actually said they are moving away from their old sound and actually going for a rock n&#8217; roll effect.  They are attempting to make this new album a &#8220;Love letter to Rock and Roll.&#8221; The last release from My Chemical Romance actually comes from <em>The Watchman Soundtrack,</em> on which they did a cover of Bob Dylan&#8217;s <strong>Desolation Row.</strong> Otherwise currently the only releases from My Chemical Romance are live videos of three select songs from their new album. It was almost surprising to see My Chemical Romance come on stage wearing leather jackets and Gerard carrying a tamborine, that&#8217;s right a tamborine. It seems My Chemical Romance is serious about paying tribute to American rock and Roll. Currently there is no release date for the new album, but it&#8217;s said to be coming out before the end of the year.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s many other whisperings and rumors of new albums coming out. Bullet for My Valentine has been in the studio for several months now, releasing little notes here and there saying &#8220;Third Album Coming Soon,&#8221; but nothing more. For sure there will be a new Bullet for My Valentine album out soon, but not enough info has been released yet as to when. Also, recently As I Lay Dying has posted a blog that says they&#8217;re preparing to lock up in a studio and begin writing their next album, their hoping to have it out late this year or early 2010, but nothing more yet. Also this week Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth has posted a blog saying that the band is coming together to begin work on their next album, once more nothing more there.  There is even inklings that Evanescence is to come out with a new album. On their offical sight Amy Lee has posted an update saying she&#8217;s not allowed to say anything, but does say that she and the band have been workin&#8217; together on music and that they&#8217;ve been meeting with a good friend of theirs who &#8216;just happens&#8217; to be a producer.</p>

<p><a title="ADM" href="http://www.myspace.com/austriandeathmachine" target="_blank"><strong>Austrian Death Machine</strong></a> is Lambesis’ American Trash Metal project bassed out of San Diego, Ca. and seems to be making more commotion then <a title="ArnoCorps" href="http://www.myspace.com/arnocorps" target="_blank"><strong>ArnoCorps</strong></a> was able to.</p>
<p>In July 2008 <a title="ADM" href="http://www.myspace.com/austriandeathmachine" target="_blank"><strong>Austrian Death Machine</strong></a> released their first album <a title="Total Brutal" href="http://www.amazon.com/Total-Brutal-Austrian-Death-Machine/dp/B00197THPW" target="_blank"><strong><em>Total Brutal</em></strong></a> on <a title="Metal Blade Records" href="http://www.metalblade.com/" target="_blank"><strong>Metal Blade Records</strong></a> which turned out to be a smash hit. Making each song as “brutal” as possible as <a title="Who is Ahhnold?" href="http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&#38;friendId=79967247&#38;blogId=512406204" target="_blank"><strong>Ahhnold</strong></a> states on track 4 of <a title="Total Brutal" href="http://www.amazon.com/Total-Brutal-Austrian-Death-Machine/dp/B00197THPW" target="_blank"><strong><em>Total Brutal</em></strong></a>, “You think the songs all sound the same? Of course they sound the same! <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Because they all sound BRUTAL!</span>”<img class="alignright" title="Total Brutal" src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61DfiJ8ZHLL._SS500_.jpg" alt="" width="350" height="350" /></p>
<p><a title="ADM" href="http://www.myspace.com/austriandeathmachine" target="_blank"><strong>Austrian Death Machine</strong></a> is everything that you should hear from a heavy metal band, but not one to be over looked and dismissed. There sound is violent and fun; placing a guitar solo in every song, lyrics to sing along with, a fast pace tempo to you can circle pit o and an obvious build up to the breakdown for you to mosh to.</p>
<p>Their lyrics? Their lyrics are just fun, <em>a fun poke at Hollywood screen writers</em> who came up with the ideas for the greats such as <a title="Kindergarten Cop" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099938/" target="_blank"><strong>Kindergarten Cop</strong></a> and <a title="The Terminator" href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088247/" target="_blank"><strong>The Terminator</strong></a>.  Each song is based on a different one of the <a title="Arnold" href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000216/" target="_blank">governator’s flicks</a>. There is nothing pretty about them, just fast, pissed, brutal, funny and juvenile lyrics on every track. Take a listen to <a title="Total Brutal" href="http://www.amazon.com/Total-Brutal-Austrian-Death-Machine/dp/B00197THPW" target="_blank"><strong><em>Total Brutal</em></strong></a>, and when you are done you will be quoting their hilarious lines later with friends.</p>

<p>A simple brutal side project has come to amount to a great success with a strong fallowing. <p class="MsoNormal">Have you heard of Tim Lambesis’ latest project? His parody and tribute to actor and current governor of Ca. Arnold Schwarzenegger?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Austrian Death Machine</strong> is Lambesis’ American Trash Metal project bassed out of San Diego, California and seems to be making more commotion then <strong>ArnoCorps</strong> was able to.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In July 2008 <strong>Austrian Death Machine</strong> released their first album <em>Total Brutal</em> on <strong>Metal Blade Records</strong> which turned out to be a smash hit. Making each song as “brutal” as possible as Ahhnold states on track 4 of Total Brutal, “You think the songs all sound the same? Of course they sound the same! Because they all sound BRUTAL!”</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Austrian Death Machine is everything that you should hear from a heavy metal band, but not one to be over looked and dismissed. There sound is violent and fun; placing a guitar solo in every song, lyrics to sing along with, a fast pace tempo to you can circle pit o and an obvious build up to the breakdown for you to mosh to.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Their lyrics? Their lyrics are just fun, a fun poke at Hollywood screen writers who came up with the ideas for the greats such as Kindergarten Cop and The Terminator.  Each song is based on a different one of the governator’s flicks. There is nothing pretty about them, just fast, pissed, brutal, funny and juvinial lyrics on every track. Take a listen to Total Brutal, and when you are done you will be quoting their hilarious lines later with friends.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Tracks on Total Brutal include “It Is Not A Tumor,” “If It Bleeds We Can Kill It” and “Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers,” sensing some of Schwarzenegger’s movies?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">A few months after the release of Total Brutal, Austrian Death Machine got into the holiday spirit with a Christmas themed album called A Very Brutal Christmas.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Then after some touring with As I Lay Dying, Lambesis put all of his ideas for a fallow up of Total Brutal to action in a double disk effort, Double Brutal. Double Brutal’s first disk would be all original Austrian Death Machine songs and disk two would contain a brutal complement of cover songs such as, Iron Fist by Motorhead and Trapped Under Ice by Matalica. The pre-sale of Double Brutal on the Austrian Death Machine site gave the first 100 orders a free set of three limited endition Austrian Death Machine guitar picks, Double Brutal was released in stores and online on Sep. 29, 2009.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Austrian Death Machine is a team effort of Lambesis, lead vocals, guitar, bass and drums, and Chad Ackerman, also known as Ahhnold, Schwarzenegger vocials, and a couple of their close musical friends such as; Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, Nick Hipa of As I Lay Dying, Andrew Tapley of The Human Abstrack and Buz McGrath of Unearth.</p>

<p>You should have seen this coming. I like metal, I like comedy, and I like comedy metal. Eventually, I was going to talk about Austrian Death Machine, the side project of Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying).</p>
<p>It&#8217;s an Arnold Schwarzenegger-themed metal band. Yup, you read that right. In July of 2008, the band released its debut album, <em><a href="http://blogs.eurielec.etsit.upm.es/galdecoa/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/austriandeathmachine.jpg">Total Brutal</a></em>. Here&#8217;s the fantastic video for &#8220;Get To The Choppa&#8221;, from that album:</p>

<p>They also played a few shows. Not many, mind you, but a few. I wish they&#8217;d do more, &#8217;cause&#8230; well, rocking out to &#8220;Who Is Your Daddy And What Does He Do?&#8221; just looks plain awesome to me.<br />

Az egyenlőre cím nélküli anyagra még legalább fél évet várni kell de a zenekar szerint egész jól halad a dalírás folyamata, hiszen 6-7 nótával már kész is vannak. A tagok úgy érzik, mivel ezúttal sokkal több időt adnak maguknak a dalírásra, így a végeredmény is sokkal ütősebbre sikerül majd mint korábban.<!--more--></p>

<p>De har skrevet en del i det siste og er ferdig med 6-7 sanger. Og de har bestemt seg for å starte innspillingen av det neste As I Lay Dying albummet 17 Oktober.</p>
<p>Da skal de spille inn så mange sanger som mulig og han regner med albummet blir gjort ferdig nærmere nyttår.</p>
<p>Han håper dette vil være en god måte å utvide låtskrivingen til bandet på, siden de tidligere albummene er spilt inn på veldig kort tid.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Myanmar Metal Scene]]></title>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Okay since I am going in about Myanmar Metal scene and all that stuff, I think I should list up some metal genres and bands I listen to.</p>
<p>I like Melodeath, Thrash, Power, Death, Black, Progressive, Speed, Symphonic, Gothic, Traditional Heavy, and even Metalcore&#8230; well almost all metal genres. And I am big fan of Children of Bodom, Judas Priest and Metallica. I also like Iced Earth, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Iron Maiden, Kamelot, Vanishing Point, DragonForce, Cannibal Corpse, Apocalyptica, Black Sabbath, Dream Theater, Opeth, Kreator, Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Nightwish, Exodus, Megadeth, Slayer, and so on. As for -core, As I Lay Dying, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and I Killed the Prom Queen. Okay enough for the list. Let&#8217;s get to the point.</p>
<p>Metal scene in Myanmar&#8230;</p>
<p>To say the truth, whenever I think of it, it makes me frown.</p>
<p>Well, I&#8217;ll say an example. There are ten metal fans from Myanmar. Among those ten, five have only listened to nu-metal and -core bands and have never heard of bands like Iron Maiden. (You can refer to those &#8220;metal fans&#8221; as &#8220;so-called&#8221;s if you want).</p>
<p>If you meet someone in Myanmar who claims to like metal, ask him what he listens to. Most likely, he will begin talks about Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot and/or Marilyn Manson. I&#8217;ve met some dudes who say,&#8221;Slipknot is Death Metal, so heavy!!!&#8221; and I was like &#8220;WTF was that!???&#8221;. When I show them Iron Maiden, they gave me something like &#8220;Is this even metal?&#8221;. There are also some people who say,&#8221;Metallica ain&#8217;t good. They ain&#8217;t heavy. blah blah blah&#8221;. If they want to listen to all that screaming, go listen to screamo.</p>
<p>Also, they are some people who&#8217;ve only listened to Slipknot and Marilyn Manson and think they&#8217;ve listened to true metal. And they blabber stuff like,&#8221;Metal is just screaming out and they don&#8217;t need to care about lyrics, blah blah blah.&#8221; Imagine how much I got pissed off. Metal is one of the music genres which has various and really lyrical themes. The themes range from Religion, Mythology, Philosophy, Politics to Society, Personal Struggles, Suffering and Love. There are also loads of concept albums (e.g-Kamelot&#8217;s Epica, Black Halo, Iced Earth&#8217;s Something Wicked Saga).</p>
<p>And another thing, metal isn&#8217;t all about being heavy. Try listening to bands like Vanishing Point, Kamelot, Nightwish, etc. Also, there are ballads like The Unforgiven, The Unforgiven II, etc by Metallica and A Tout Le Monde by Megadeth. What I want to say is,&#8221;Don&#8217;t blabber if you really haven&#8217;t listened to metal.&#8221;</p>
<p>One more thing, metal fanbase here still isn&#8217;t really big and mostly those &#8220;metalheads&#8221; listen to nu and -core. I used to like nu-metal. But I stopped listening to it, once I got in touch with Melodeath, Thrash, Power, Death, etc. Try it out. Compare nu to other metal genres. There, you will see the difference.</p>
<p>As for Metalcore, I still listen to it. I enjoy listening to bands like As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, I Killed the Prom Queen, etc. I used to be a big fan of Bullet For My Valentine. Even now, I listen to some of their songs. What I want to say here is just because they&#8217;ve listened to those -core bands, they act like they&#8217;ve listened to true metal. Some don&#8217;t even know AILD or KSE.</p>
<p>This shouldn&#8217;t happen.</p>
<p>To all those &#8220;so-called&#8221; &#8220;metalheads&#8221; in Myanmar, if you really like metal, explore! Go in depths! Don&#8217;t just stop with nu or -core. The bad thing here is, you can&#8217;t buy much metal CDs. About half of the albums I have were downloaded.</p>
<p>The underground metal bands here mostly play metalcore. Well, I like All Else I Fail and Last Day of Beethoven for metalcore. For other metal genres, I&#8217;d list Yakkhadeva, Architect of Misery and Book of Death. I also wish I could see more underground metal bands that create other metal genres than metalcore.</p>
<p>I guess, Metal scene in Myanmar will take some time to become like Hip Hop or Punk scenes which are currently growing rapidly.</p>
