<title><![CDATA[ASCII]]></title>

<description><![CDATA[El código ASCII es el acrónimo, en inglés, Código Estadounidense Estándar para el Intercambio de Inf]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>El código <strong>ASCII</strong> es el acrónimo, en inglés, <em>Código Estadounidense Estándar para el Intercambio de Información</em>. Es un código de caracteres basado en el alfabeto latino tal como se usa en inglés moderno y en otras lenguas occidentales. Fue creado en 1963 por el Comité Estadounidense de Estándares . Este cambio produjo la unificación de la codificación telemática. De este modo el código ASCII fue el que se introdujo en todos los elementos digitales y como forma de comunicación general ya que contiene los 95 caracteres básicos para la impresión. Posteriormente, aunque este código nunca ha dejado de existir y funcionar, se ha ampliado a nuevos códigos y sistemas de lenguaje.</p>
<p>Ya en su inicio, gracias a la revolución tecnológica que esto suponía,  ya se empezó con la digitalización de la imagen con los medios disponibles en esos momentos.  De lo que se obtuvieron imágenes como los emoticonos o dibujos muy elementales como estos:<br />

<p>Posteriormente se fue trabajando con la imagen de los caracteres ASCII, trabajando con los volúmenes y los vacíos, hasta llegar a convertir estos caracteres en pixeles. Gracias ha esta evolución se llegaron a crear imágenes como estas:</p>

<p>Aunque la imagen central originariamente no es necesaria para la conversión a ASCII es interesante verla como otra opción de interpretación de estos caracteres.  A partir de aquí, en los años 70, salio todo un movimiento de vídeo mudo pensado para ser reproducido en las antiguas computadoras. Posteriormente, actualizando el sistema de filtrado, se han creado películas para browsers recuperando este estilo.</p>

<p>Version del classico <em><a title="Deep Throat (film)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Throat_%28film%29">Deep Throat</a></em>(1972), reeditado por el artista de net art <a title="Vuk Ćosić" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vuk_%C4%86osi%C4%87">Vuk Ćosić</a> en los años 90. Posiblemente el precursor de todo este movimiento actual.</p>
<p><em><a title="mASCCtrIIx" href="http://ftp.pcworld.com/pub/screencams/ascii-matrix.html">the Matrix</a></em></p>
<p>Aunque existen otras <a title="Matrix" href="http://www.genericgeek.com/matrix/asciimatrix.html">versiones</a> también realizadas por autores anónimos.</p>
<p><a title="Star Wars" href="http://www.asciimation.co.nz/#">Star Wars</a></p>
<p>Incluso se han creado animaciones a partir de imágenes creadas íntegramente en ASCII y no a partir de la reconversion del vídeo.</p>

Right now we are here to show you the best 5 ways to coolify your name i.e. your IM/social media display name. We&#8217;ll assume that you&#8217;ve already tried putting smileys or hearts or some other dumb bullshit in your display name, or if you&#8217;re really hardcore you&#8217;ve already tired the fishes (example: <em>&#60;º))))&#62;&#60;.·´¯`·John Smith·´¯`·.¸&#62;&#60;((((º&#62;</em>) or some other poorly creative ASCII combination thinking &#8220;that&#8217;s the one, now I&#8217;m unique&#8221;. Well, you&#8217;re wrong again, you&#8217;re not unique, and you probably never will be. But no worries, we&#8217;re here to help and give you that conversation starting nick, bringin&#8217; lots of them &#8220;d00d, WTF is that?&#8221;. So lets start from the top saying a few words about what ASCII is. ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) is a 7-bit representation of the English alphabet widely used in information technology and the world wide web until recently when it started to get replaced by the UTF-8 witch is an improved character encoding technique. We are saying this because when you try to convert a Chinese letter into something else and you get an error you won&#8217;t bitch about it. Instead you&#8217;ll know that most of the converters work only with the 128 ASCII characters and you&#8217;ll feel less dumb. But enough about character encoding techniques. Lets start the countdown. There are many converters, generators, translators, encoders and such out there, but very few of them are actually good and usable. -This isn&#8217;t an actual language, so it doesn&#8217;t have strict rules in regards with it&#8217;s creating and it&#8217;s interpretation. There are many variants of leet so the translation from leet to plane English isn&#8217;t always correct. Also there are many forms of leetness starting from plain leet and going to advanced leet which like the binary code can be fully understood by very few people. These are the best leet translators and generators that we could find, but unlike the other translators mentioned earlier these three aren&#8217;t compatible with each other. In other words, something that has been translated into leet in one translator can&#8217;t be translated back into plain English in an other. That&#8217;s because leet isn&#8217;t an actual language, like we mentioned earlier. So if you&#8217;re a hardcore nerd you won&#8217;t need these three translators. <p><strong>Kotak-1. </strong><em>Bit</em> adalah angka dalam dunia <em>biner</em> yang terdiri atas <em>0</em>-<em>1</em> (angka <em>desimal</em> terdiri atas <em>0-9</em>).  Sebuah bilangan dinyatakan dalam deretan angka, misalnya 1247; nilai angka “7” di kanan lebih kecil dibandingkan “1” di kiri karena bobot “1” adalah <em>ribuan</em>, sedangkan “7” <em>satuan</em>. Semakin ke kiri posisi, <em>nilai</em> angka semakin besar, karena bobotnya semakin besar.</p>
<p>Bilangan biner sama saja, bilangan terdiri atas deretan 0 dan 1. Bobot <em>bit</em> juga bergantung posisi, semakin ke kiri nilainya semakin besar tetapi nilainya bukan ratusan atau puluhan melainkan <em>satu-an</em>, <em>dua-an</em>, <em>empat-an</em>, <em>delapan-an</em>, … dst.</p>

<p><em>Dua-keadaan </em>ini dinyatakan dengan notasi ‘0’ dan ‘1’, disebut <em>bit</em>, kependekan dari <em>binary digit </em>(<em>binary </em>= dua, <em>digit</em> = angka). Mana notasi untuk ‘<em>ada sinyal listrik</em>’ dan ‘<em>tidak ada sinyal listrik</em>’? Mana saja boleh.</p>
<p>Komputer canggih yang dibeli mahal itu, pada hakekatnya tak lain adalah kumpulan ratusan juta sakelar! Sekalar ini begitu istimewa karena dipakai merepresentasikan <em>informasi </em>dan <em>kontrol/kendali informasi</em>. Tentu saja jenis sakelar bukan jenis mekanik, tetapi elektronik. Ukurannya sedemikian kecil, jauh lebih kecil dari sel butir darah merah (6 mikron) bahkan bakteri (1 mikron)! Wah? Sungguh.</p>
<p><span style="color:darkblue;"><strong>Tahukah, penyampaian informasi menggunakan sakelar bukan hal baru?</strong></span></p>
<p><strong> </strong></p>
<p>Teknologi sakelar untuk komunikasi sudah dikenal dan dipakai sejak 1890. Mungkin di antara kita pernah mendengar kode <em>Morse</em>, <em>dit-dit-dit dah-dah-dah dit-dit-dit… </em>yang kalau diterjemahkan ‘<em>SOS</em>’ (<em>Save Our Souls, Save Our Ship</em>), artinya ‘<em>Help!</em>’, ‘<em>Tolong!</em>’. Kode ini dipancarkan pada saat darurat, atau kejadian gawat, yang menentukan hidup-mati manusia (kapal tenggelam di samudera, tersesat di hutan, dsb.)</p>
<p>Sakelar Morse adalah mekanis, berupa <em>tombol ketuk </em>tunggal. Lihat gambar (di bawah). Dua-keadaan sakelar dibentuk oleh <em>lama waktu </em>sakelar <em>menutup</em>; <em>lama </em>berarti “garis” (‘dah’), <em>sebentar </em>berarti “titik” (‘dit’). Huruf demi huruf diketuk, ditutup dengan membuka sakelar, pertanda satu kata selesai. Begitu seterusnya hingga pesan selesai.</p>
<p>Kode Morse sifatnya universal dan difahami di seluruh dunia. Kode masih dipakai sampai sekarang untuk kondisi tertentu. (Dahulu menjadi persyaratan ketrampilan para amatir radio, entah sekarang.)</p>
<p><span style="color:darkblue;"><strong>Manusia dan “mesin” berkomunikasi pakai “kamus”.</strong></span></p>
<p>Komputer adalah “mesin” yang hanya mengenal bahasa dua-keadaan atau <em>biner</em>, ‘0’ dan ‘1’; Morse hanya menciptakan ‘dit’ dan ‘dah’. Lalu bagaimana manusia memahami bahasa mesin yang hanya mengenal <em>abjad, angka</em>, dan <em>tanda baca</em>? Sederhana, hadirkan saja <em>penerjemah </em>atau <em>kamus</em>. Beres.</p>
<p>Dalam dunia teknologi informasi, <em>penerjemah </em>atau <em>kamus </em>punya berbagai nama sendiri yang unik: <em>enkoder-dekoder, enkripsi-dekripsi, LUT </em>(<em>look up table</em>), <em>DNS, MAC, NAT, mnemonik,</em> dan lainnya. Jangan hiraukan dulu sekarang, nanti secara bertahap kita akan bertemu dengan kata-kata ini. Intinya sekarang kita tahu komputer itu isinya sakelar dan kamus melulu!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Unfortunately a quick google search on &#8220;ASCII Delimited Text&#8221; shows that IBM and Oracle failed to read the ASCII specification and both define ASCII Delimited Text as a CSV format.  ASCII Delimited Text should use the record separators defined as ASCII 28-31.</p>
<p>The most common formats are CSV (Comma Separated Values) and tab delimited text.  Tab delimited text breaks when ever you have either a field with a tab or a new line in it, and CSV breaks depending on the implementation on Quotes, Commas and lines. Sadly Quotes, Commas and Tab characters are very common in text, and this makes the formats extremely bad for exporting and importing data.  There are some other formats such as pipe (&#124;) delimited text, and whilst better in that &#124; is less frequently used they still suffer from being printable characters that are entered into text, and worst of all people, when they look at a file format and see the delimiter, think that it is a good idea to break things up with in fields using the same delimiter as the file format.</p>
<p>The <strong>most anoying thing</strong> about the <strong>whole problem</strong> is that it <strong>was solved by design</strong> in the <strong>ASCII character set</strong>.</p>
<p>If you use ASCII  31 as your field separator instead of comma or tab, and ASCII 30 as your record separator instead of new line.   Then you have a text file format that is trivial to write out and read in, with no restrictions on the text in fields or the need to try and escape characters.</p>
<p>It is even part of the design of the file encoding system.  The ASCII standard calls these fields</p>
<ul>
<li>31 Unit Separator</li>
<li>30 Record Separator</li>
</ul>
<p>And ASCII has two more levels with Group and File Separators</p>

<li>28 File Separator</li>
</ul>

OSI menyediakan kerangka logika terstruktur agar proses komunikasi data berinteraksi melalui jaringan. Agar singkronisasi jaringan memiliki standart umum, maka suatu organisasi internasional ISO (International Organization for Standardization) menciptakan OSI. OSI dikembangkan oleh ISO pada tahun 1984 di Eropa.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Dahulu kala Sebelum tercipta OSI <strong>, </strong>sistem jaringan komputer tergantung sama masing-masing perusahaan dagang (vendor). Nah yang bikin ribet nya itu, setiap perusahaan mengeluarkan standart sendiri-sendiri. Sehingga terjadilah standart yang berbeda-beda antar vendor. Dan vendor yang satu dengan yang lain tidak dapat saling berkomuniasi karena perbedaan protokol.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>Protokol</strong> jaringan adalah suatu aturan atau cara komunikasi antar komputer sehingga dapat saling bertukar informasi dengan benar.</p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align:justify;">OSI dikembangkan untuk industri komputer (vendor) agar komputer dapat berkomunikasi pada jaringan yang berbeda secara efisien. OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) menggunakan 7 layer untuk menstandarkan proses networking.  Oleh karena itu OSI sering juga disebut “OSI 7 layer”. OSI model dipakai untuk mempermudah pemahaman tentang kompleksitas dengan mendefinisikan apa yang terjadi pada setiap tahap di dalam proses komunikasi jaringan.</p>

<p><strong>BASIC</strong>ally, this encompasses all 95 printable characters on your keyboard.  A term more commonly used in the early days of home computing, <a href="http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&#38;safe=off&#38;um=1&#38;sa=1&#38;q=ascii+art&#38;aq=f&#38;oq=&#38;aqi=g3g-m1&#38;start=0">many <em>pieces of art</em></a><em> </em>have been created using <strong>ASCII</strong> (and summarily ink ribboned out through dot matrix printers and onto continuous sheets).  </p>

<p>Okay, the art is sub par, but the site is insane (<em><a href="http://www.asciimation.co.nz/#">click here</a></em>).  It&#8217;s (almost) the entire first film animated in <strong>ASCII</strong>!  <strong>DOS </strong>it help erase the memory of the prequels?  Not quite.  But <a href="http://twitter.com/toplessrobot">Rob Bricken</a> of the awesomely nerdy <a href="http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/10/tr_contest_greatest_nerd_theory.php">Topless Robot</a> has theories about what went wrong (or did everything go as planned?):</p>
<blockquote><p>I&#8217;ll tell you my greatest nerd theory, which I&#8217;m still kind of proud of &#8212; regarding the <strong>midichlorians</strong> from <em><strong>Phantom Menace</strong></em>. Like all of you, I was aghast that the Force had suddenly turned into biology and racked my brain trying to explain it. And I did &#8212; I became convinced that <strong>(George) Lucas</strong> had put it in the movie to suck on purpose. I reasoned that Lucas was intentionally making these early Jedi shitty, to which I also ascribed <strong>Qui-Gon&#8217;s</strong> dickish refusal to un-enslave <strong>Anakin&#8217;s </strong>mom &#8212; and that <strong>Lucas</strong> was trying to tell us these Jedi had lost their way with the Force. They had turned it into a science, forbidden Jedi from loving. Had shitty committee meetings instead of doing good. They&#8217;d lost their way, and that&#8217;s why they could no longer sense the Dark Side when it was right under their fucking noses. So I figured by the third movie, there was going to be a major moment of revelation as the Jedi were getting destroyed, probably by <strong>Yoda</strong>, about how they&#8217;d screwed up, and in that sense, by destroying the corrupted Jedi, <strong>Anakin</strong> truly was bringing balance back to the Force. And when <strong>Luke</strong> restarted the Jedi order, he would embrace the spirituality and the compassion that the Prequel Jedi had forgotten, finishing the work.</p></blockquote>

<p>I menu sono sempre il biglietto da visita di un gioco: devono essere semplici, ma non banali; completi, ma non confusionari, ne complessi. Al momento sto valutando le varie possibilità di struttura&#8230; sicuramente utilizzerò dei &#8220;Bitmap font&#8221;, quindi font creati da me (o trovati in giro per il web) spiritosi e non pesanti da vedere.<br />
<!--more-->Nell&#8217;immagine di testa si può vedere un primo esperimento, i caratteri li ho &#8220;disegnati&#8221; io e la scritta viene gestita dai componenti &#8220;GLBitmapFont&#8221; e &#8220;GLHUDText&#8221;.<br />
Il primo carica l&#8217;immagine contenente i caratteri e li separa, il secondo gestisce le &#8220;string&#8221; che verranno visualizzate a video. Questa è l&#8217;immagine (rimpicciolita per il blog) che, dopo essere stata elaborata, da i caratteri per i vari GLHUDText:</p>

<p style="text-align:left;">Purtroppo la limitazione più grande è quella che possono essere gestiti solo i caratteri ASCII e non quelli ASCII Extended, infatti nell&#8217;immagine qui sopra si possono notare quattro caratteri di troppo da me inseriti per effettuare qualche prova. La versione finale sarà simile a questa, ma con dei ritocchi nei caratteri veri e propri.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Mi piaceva creare/utilizzare un tipo di font spiritoso e quasi retrò per un gioco odierno, perchè mi ricorda i tempi andati dei primi videogiochi che dovevano per prima cosa essere accattivanti con centinaia di colori diversi (nei limiti dei 256 colori di un tempo <img src='http://s.wordpress.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> ). Inoltre, nonostante le Slot Car siano ancora oggi attuali, andavano molto in voga in noi &#8220;bambini di ieri&#8221;; volevo, quindi, legare questi due aspetti nostalgici insieme e dare un ricordo ancora più marcato delle belle lotte fatte con le mitiche piste elettriche.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Ora sto cercando di razionalizzare un modo per gestire i menu e le relative schermate, devo scegliere bene cosa mettere e dove e creare delle procedure generiche che mi permettano semplicemente di aggiungere e togliere voci.</p>
<p style="text-align:left;">Infine, ma non per importanza, voglio applicare degli effetti animati nelle scritte, quindi farò entrare le scritte da un lato dello schermo per farle uscire da quello opposto mentre ogni riga (o solo alcune) onduleranno beatamente per i fatti loro. Ho già provato a fare qualche prova con risultati molto buoni.<br />
Ah! quasi dimenticavo&#8230; lo sfondo di ogni schermata vedrà protagonista una pista che ruoterà lentamente per i fatti suoi. Nella schermata di scelta della pista da caricare (per l&#8217;editing o per la corsa) verrà visualizzata la pista selezionata in quel momento.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Dengan pesatnya pekembangan teknologi dalam dunia percetakan digital dan komunikasi digital, dunia teknologi font telah melakukan langkah yang besar dengan bermunculannya desain-desain huruf yang inovatif dan telah memperkaya dunia desain komunikasi visual. Diperjalanan awal dari teknologi font digital, font didesain dengan ukuran yang pasti seperti 9, 10, 12, 14, 18 dan 24 pt dengan menggunakan standar bitmap layar komputer sehingga memiliki kelemahan ketika font harus diperbesar atau diperkecil. Akan tetapi kini dengan kehadiran teknologi vektor dan antialiasing teknologi font terus berkembang dengan meninggalkan teknologi bitmap.</p>
<p><em>1. Font Type 1 dan Postscript</em><br />
Untuk mengatasi permasalahan pada font bitmap, Adobe membuat font menggunakan Postscript page desription language. Font ini memiliki dua bagian, satu set font bitmap berukuran pasti dan font berbasis postscript yang akan memberikan informasi outline dari bentuk font tersebut. Sistem operasi seperti Mac OS atau Windows menggunakan font bitmap untuk menggambar font di layar, dan untuk ukuran bitmap yang diperbesar atau diperkecil sistem akan menggunakan ukuran terdekat untuk menyesuaikan bentuk. Dan untuk keperluan cetak-mencetak font dengan basis postscript akan digunakan dan di download ke printer. Dengan menggunakan metode Bezier Curves dengan minimum pemakaian empat buah titik untuk menghasilkan sebuah garis lengkung yang terdiri dari dua titik akhir dan dua titik kontrol. Outline dari postscript ini dapat diperbesar dan diperkecil tanpa batas dan menjaga bentuk huruf tetap baik. Ketika printer telah menerima informasi outline vektor yang telah diskalakan, makan betuk itu akan disi oleh pixel dan menciptakan sebuah gambar bitmap dengan resolusi tinggi. Proses ini dinamakan rasterization (dari bahasa Jerman “raster” yang berarti layar). Adobe membuat ATM (Adobe Type Manager) untuk mengatasi permasalahan online viewing pada font, sehingga font bitmap tidak lagi dgunakan dan lebih menggunakan informasi outline dari font postscript untuk menciptakan bentuk huruf bitmap yang sesuai dengan resolusi layar komputer, untuk semua ukuran font. Walaupun demikian di sistem Mac OS, ATM tetap memerlukan satu file font bitmap yang di install agar nama font bisa terbaca di menu font. Font Type 1 sekarang sudah menjadi standar dalam software digital (ISO9541), dan di dunia, lebih dari 30000 font type 1 telah didigitalisasi untuk keperluan typesetting.</p>
<p><em>2. Truetype</em><br />
Disamping dominasi dari dari font Type 1, Truetype ternyata lebih populer, Truetype adalah font berbasis informasi outline juga dan format vektor nya bisa di skala sesuai kebutuhan ukuran dengan akurasi yang tinggi. Truetype menggunakan metoda Quadratic B-spline dengan menerapkan titik-titk secara langsung pada garis dan bagian-bagian yang dilengkungkan. Kurang lebih postscript dan truetype memiliki kapabilitas yang hampir sama sebagai font berbasis outline atau scalable font. Software standar dari truetype dibuat oleh Apple, akan tetapi kini juga bisa digunakan oleh sistem operasi Windows. Kedua sistem tersebut memiliki Truetype Rasterizer yang menyediakan informasi untuk penggambaran di layar dan output cetak. Truetype di rancang sebagai file tunggal (suitcase), yang didalamnya sudah terdapat keluarga huruf dalam bentuk plain, plain italic, bold dan bold italic membuat type font ini lebih rapih dalam pendataan file dibandingkan Font Type 1.<br />

<p><em>3. Multiple Master Font</em><br />
Multiple Master adalah jenis font Type 1 yang dibuat khusus oleh Adobe sehingga membedakan jenis sistem ini dengan sistem yang lain. Keunikan dari Multiple Master Font adalah setiap character memiliki lebih dari satu outline digital, sepasang outline merepresentasikan titik akhir dari sebuah garis desain (design axis) dan font berbasis Multiple Master mengandung informasi titik (axes) untuk berat, style ataupun penglihatan optis dan semua terdapat dalam satu paket. Kelebihan dari Multiple Master Font adalah fleksibilitas bentuk huruf untuk di kostumisasi tanpa distorsi bentuk ketika di perbesar atau diperkecil. File dari Multiple Master Font lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang lainnya, juga dengan penamaan font sangat kompleks dan susah untuk di atur. Multiple Master Font di identifikasikan dengan MM ditambah nama pendek dari huruf tersebut contohnya ITCAvaGarMM. Dan biasanya diikuti oleh dua huruf dari informasi titik (axes) seperti BD untuk Bold, XL untuk Light, NO untuk Normal, CN untuk Condensed, dan OP untuk Optikal. Nominal angka untuk merepresentasikan nilai axis. Dan jika kita membuat Multiple Master Font axis ini akan muncul dalam huruf kecil.</p>
<p><em>4. Unicode Font</em><br />
Unicode adalah standard baru untuk menjabarkan characters set dalam sebuah sistem, bekerja mirip dengan ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange). Biasanya dalam ASCII terdapat 200 set characters, tetapi dalam Unicode bisa terdapat 65000 jenis characters sehingga Unicode sering digunakan dalam informasi digital multi bahasa. Unicode bukan lah sebuah font encoder (pembaca sandi-sandi font) tetapi hanya sebuah standar dimana informasi glyph (outline bentuk sebuah font) sebuah font tersimpan. </p>
<p><em>5. Opentype dan Truetype Open</em><br />
Format font yang terbaru adalah jenis font OpenType dan TrueType Open yang dibuat oleh dua perusahaan software raksasa yaitu Microsoft dan Adobe. Kelebihan dari format ini adalah tidak adanya perbedaan format dan kapabilitas yang tinggi untuk pertukaran basis sistem. Dan juga Opentype dan TrueTYpe didesain sebagai single file sehingga memudahkan dalam pendataan font. Stimulus dari pembuatan format ini adalah standar Unicode yang memungkinkan sebuah font mengandung 65000 jenis characters. Termasuk expert character set seperti ligatures, smallcaps, extra accent, pecahan dan characters spesial lainnya.</p>
<p><em>6. Worldtype</em><br />
Worldtype adalah format font yang dibuat oleh perusahaan font AGFA Monotype, format ini dibuat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dari standar Unicode.</p>
