By Ulla Hadar

SHA’AR HANEGEV, Israel–Many ecologically-motivated students from the Sha’ar Hanegev High School demonstrated last week against plans to build an additional coal power station in Ashkelon. The demonstration took place at Sapir College where a conference was going on to examine social relationships in the neighboring city of Sderot.

Attending the conference and symphatizing with the demonstraters were several delegates from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. These delegates were: Nitzan Horowitz, Arie Bibi, Eitan Chevel and Shai Hermesh (former mayor of Shaar Hanegev municipality).

Racheli Feinstein, director of environmental studies at the Shaar Hanegev High School, said “As part of our environmental studies at the High School, it is extremely important that our students are exposed to the planning going on in our area, plans that will have an impact on their future as well as ours.We want our students to become motivated, active, caring and responsible citizens in their future lives.”

The coal power stations are the major pollution factors in Israel today. The addition of the coal power station in Ashkelon will raise the level of pollution for another quarter of a million citizens situated in the Northern Negev, the area surrounding Gaza and Ashkelon.

Joint studies executed by the Brazilai hospital and the Ministry of Health have shown a significant increase in citizens arriving at the ER with breathing difficulties.

The decision to build the coal power station was taken by the government in 2002 as an attempt to cover the future demand for electricity.

Although technology has advanced and more ecological and clean solutions exist to create electricity, the government has taken no steps in reevaluating its decision to build the power station.

The Palestinian Authority has called on the public to boycott several large supermarket chains in the West Bank that carry Israeli products.

The decision targets upscale markets in Ramallah, in an attempt to pressure the stores to discontinue the sale of fruits and vegetables grown and processed in Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

According to the Palestinian authorities, customers are not aware that some of the products are produced in one of over 200 Israeli settlements, built illegally on occupied Palestinian land deemed illegal under international law.

Palestinians consider these settlements the most crucial threat to their aspirations for statehood.

As a result, the Palestinian ministry of economy has announced it will aggressively pursue an already existing law that criminalises trading in settlement products, a move that is widely popular among Palestinians.

Israeli settlement products currently enjoy an estimated 15 per cent share of the Palestinian market, according to the minister of economy.

‘Good move’

Al Jazeera’s Nour Odeh, reporting from Ramallah, says the move to ban settlement products from the shelves will take time and require awareness among Palestinian consumers.

Many products made in illegal settlements are on sale in Palestinian supermarkets!

“The government argues that it is through this boycott, that they are now striking back at the illegal settlements – product by product,” she said.

Jamal Juma, a Palestinian activist and coordinator of the Stop the Wall campaign, told Al Jazeera: “If the Palestinian Authority insists on implementing this decision, it means the authority will participate in boycotting one-third of the Israeli products that come to the West Bank.

“This is a very good step to support the Palestinian economy. It will provide the opportunity to improve Palestinians products and solve the unemployment problem.

“The decision will allow Palestinians to say: ‘No to the occupation, we are not going to pay for the bulldozers that destroy our houses and for the bullets that kill our people’.”

Settlement by stealth belies promises of restraint

Hillary Clinton has praised Israel for its policy on settlers but, the displacements go on

By Donald Macintyre in Jerusalem

Maysaa Al-Kurd has lived all her life in the home her family moved into in 1956. The pomegranate tree standing in the garden was planted by her father when she was still an infant nearly half a century ago. But that hardly reassured her yesterday when she heard the Jewish settlers break into the next-door extension building her brother Nabil built to house his family in 2001.

“I heard the door opened by force,” she said. “And then I heard one of them say: ‘This furniture belongs to whom?’” Later she saw “with my own eyes” a settler breaking a television set. Outside, a refrigerator, cushions and household furniture, apparently removed by the intruders, stood for several hours in the pouring rain. Inside, broken glass could be seen above a stove.

What Ms Kurd, of the inner-city East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah, was hearing at about 10.30am yesterday was the latest in an accelerating series of highly charged and organised moves by settlers into the city’s Arab sector. Armed with a court order saying they own the property, the settlers – about 40, according to Ms Kurd – decided to break in just four days after [America's whore] Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, dismayed Palestinian and other Arab leaders by praising the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “unprecedented” promise of “a restraint” in illegal settlement activity.

Mrs Clinton sought on Monday to “clarify” her remarks by acknowledging that Mr Netanyahu’s proposals fell well short of the settlement freeze the US had earlier called for. And, while Mr Netanyahu has offered temporarily to halt authorisations of new settlement building in the West Bank, he has resolutely set his face against any slowdown in East Jerusalem. The UN says that 194 people were forcibly displaced from their homes in East Jerusalem by evictions and demolitions between January and July of this year. Israel insists it annexed the Arab sector of Jerusalem after the Six-Day War in 1967, but this is rejected by most of the international community who endorse Palestinian aspirations for it to be the capital of a future state. In Amman, the British Foreign Secretary David Miliband expressed “concern” over events at the Kurd house and added: “The current situation is obviously particularly tense in respect of Jerusalem.”

Since a 2001 court order the rooms invaded by the settlers have been closed and used only to store furniture. But for Ms Kurd, whose property is one of at least 24 that settlers are hoping to acquire in this sensitive neighbourhood, their sudden arrival only intensified her fear of losing her home. “We are all worried for the future,” she said, “not just in Sheikh Jarrah but in all East Jerusalem.”

Only last week about a hundred Israeli security personnel arrived to remove a nearby protest tent that the Palestinian Ghawi family had been sleeping in since being evicted in August. That move came 24 hours after bulldozers levelled the homes of six families across East Jerusalem on the grounds they did not have the proper permit. Human rights activists say it is exponentially harder for Palestinians than Israelis to obtain permits.

Another elderly member of Ms Kurd’s extended family, Mohammed al- Kurd, died after being evicted last August from his home and moving into a similar tent to the Ghawi family’s. Like other of his relatives, he had refused to pay rent to the post-1967 Jewish owners, partly, some diplomats say, because they still dispute the historic right of ownership.

Maysaa al-Kurd said that her “life and blood” was in the house. Asked about the settlers’ argument that they have a right to the land because Yemenite Jews lived there before 1948, she added that her own family were 1948 refugees from what was now Israel. “My family are all from Haifa. Can I go there and say I own the house and I have the key? Can I tell the people there that is my house? They will kill me.”

Police stood guard outside the Sheikh Jarrah house while settlers occupied the adjacent building but eventually left on police advice. However two security guards employed by them were still there at the end of the day.

Although the house and its land was allotted to the Palestinian family in 1956 by the UN Relief and Works Agency and Jordan – then in control of the West Bank and East Jerusalem – the Israeli authorities expropriated numbers of properties in the area as state land after 1967 [The stealing of Palestine]. In some cases – apparently including this one – the land was later transferred or sold to companies or organisations representing settlers. None of the departing settlers would speak to reporters, but Adnan Husseini, the Palestinian Authority governor of Jerusalem, said: “The changing position of the American administration led to this.”

Nabil al-Kurd, a father of four children, was summoned from work by his family when the settlers arrived. He was later told by police the settlers would be ordered to stay away pending 10 days in which Mr Kurd could lodge an appeal.

Appeal? We all know how the Nazis will rule.. in favor of their fellow-pig Nazis!

Members of Congress are considering a bipartisan resolution that officially rejects the findings of the United Nations-commissioned Goldstone Report on Israel’s military offensive against Gaza. The resolution also calls on President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to urge U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice to veto the report in the UN Security Council.

Congress is expected to vote on the bill – H.R. 867 – by this weekend.

People of conscience are requested to call both your Senators and your Congressperson today and tell them to vote against this bill. You can read the bill here. It ignores the conclusions of the Goldstone Report and simply parrots Israeli government denial.

Judge Richard Goldstone has challenged the U.S. to substantiate its claim that his report is “flawed.” President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have made no response. The carefully researched and documented report deserves a response, not a veto. The people of Gaza, who were brutally attacked, deserve a hearing.

What message are we sending to the rest of the world when we grant Israel complete impunity?

Let Congress know this legislation is unacceptable. It is not in the U.S. interest to disregard war crimes. It is not in the U.S. interest to rewrite international law. It is not possible to grant Israel impunity while demanding other nations respect human rights.

The enemy is the only appropriate reference to the NaZionist and illegal state improperly named Isra

The enemy is the only appropriate reference to the NaZionist and illegal state improperly named Israel. For Israel was Jacob, a great Prophet. The country that uses his name is but the Devil himself.

As such, the enemy’s way of thinking is simply mind boggling. They really think that they are a victim of a small group of resistance freedom fighters – be it Hamas or any Palestinian. The same old blame, that Hamas fired rockets on the enemy’s civilians is incredibly ludicrous. First, because Palestinians have every right to free and rid their country from the European “Jewish” Nazis: Sephardic and AshkeNazi gypsies and tribes that do not have the slightest connection to the Holy Land. And second, because when injustice is the normal way with which the enemy practices its inhumane and barbaric policies against Palestinians, the only alternative is to revolt, rise and fight back!

Yet the enemy’s way of thinking is that they have the right to defend themselves while Palestinians are to simply sit tight and watch as their lands are stolen, homes demolished, children massacred and their travels restricted in the most inhumane methods!

How dare Palestinians resist and seek freedom and justice?

Their is an Arabic saying that goes something like this: If you have – or feel – no shame, then do as you please!

And this is how the Enemy’s state conducts its policies. No one in the world is allowed to criticize, question or interfere in their Nazi-like policies, ethnic cleansing and targeting and massacring women and children as a means of “entertaining” their so-called forces who are nothing but terrorists and scum.

In the Jerusalem Post article about the Goldstone report, one such scum attempts to sound educated and objective about this issue! Amazingly, he stated that the report was “clearly flawed since it did not address the points – in the enemy’s messed up way of thinking, the following:

The Goldstone report begins its investigation with the start of the Gaza campaign, although Hamas had been firing rockets on a daily basis at innocents in the Negev for years prior.

There was no consideration of the kidnapping of Gilad Schalit, held captive for more than three years without access to any international bodies, which is a violation of every convention that judges war crimes.

The report makes no mention of the wider regional dangers that Israel faces, that is, the ties between Hamas and Iran, which threatens the Jewish state with genocide – a prime violation of the United Nations Charter.

The report skips over the violent takeover of Gaza by Hamas, whose clear intention was to attack Israel.

The disengagement from Gaza with the removal of the army and settlements plays no role in the report’s evaluation.

A country’s right to self-defense held little concern for the Goldstone committee.

Since much of the testimony of the Gazans was conducted in public, it is naïve to believe that Palestinians would admit to Hamas’s endangering their safety for fear that they would be incarcerated, kidnapped or killed.

Nowhere does the report acknowledge the fact that Hamas mercilessly killed more than 100 Fatah members during the war.

Is this not amazing, superficial and incredibly ignorant? Source: JP.

Notice the repeated “arguments” that the enemy is presenting? Removing the repeated points makes the article shorter and shrinks the list down to 3 points.. not worth presenting! Or how about the hypocrisy in point 6? So Palestinians too have the right to self-defense!

The report was conducted to determine the Enemy’s disproportionate and barbaric acts, havoc, death and destruction they caused in Gaza. If the above moron expected the report to address the “wider regional” issues, then let’s include the illegal immigration of Jews and the stealing of Palestine and the massacres they have committed since 1948.

We also should thank the writer for his “humane” concern over point 8. What Hamas “did” was merciless but what the Enemy did to thousnads of Palestinians women and children was normal?

He really seems to care about some Palestinians: those who collaborate with the enemy!

Rights council to debate Gaza war

The UN Human Rights Council is set to reopen a debate on the Goldstone report on the conduct of the Gaza war late last year.

Thursday’s session comes at the request of the Palestinian Authority, which had initially agreed to defer a vote on the UN-sanctioned Goldstone report but later backtracked after coming under heavy criticism.

The debate in Geneva is to come a day after the UN Security Council also discussed the report, during which the Palestinian Authority demanded that Israel be punished for war crimes.

Riad al-Maliki, the Palestinian Authority’s foreign minister, said at the Security Council meeting in New York on Wednesday that the UN should take action against Israel for its “savage attack” on the territory.

“The credibility and foundations of international human rights and humanitarian law as well as of the UN as a whole is at stake,” he said.

“The world has for too long witnessed Israel’s impunity, knowing fully well that this has been repeatedly fuelled by the lack of punishment and accountability.”

The UN Security Council’s regular meeting on the Middle East had been brought forward from its original date of October 20 after it reject Libya’s request for a special session to discuss the Gaza war report. The report, which was written by a panel led by Richard Goldstone, a South African judge, accuses Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

It also accused Hamas, which has de facto control of Gaza, of war crime violations, but reserves most of its criticism for Israel.

Palestinians are circulating a draft resolution for the human rights council debate on Thursday, which among other things, calls on Ban Ki-moon, the UN secretary general, to monitor whether Israel and Hamas conduct credible investigations into the alleged abuses during the war.

Ban urged “all of the parties to carry out credible domestic investigations into the conduct of the conflict without delay”, Lynn Pascoe, the UN under secretary general for political affairs, told the security council meeting on Wednesday.

Al-Maliki told Al Jazeera that the Palestinian Authority’s “intention is to shed light on the report and to prepare the stage for what will happen at the UN Human Rights Council”.

“I think it is very important when 44 countries participate in the deliberation, highlighting the importance of the report,” he said.

Report ’supports terror’ [ the audacity of the Zionist mouth!]

But Ehud Barak, Israel’s defence minister who oversaw the three week offensive against Gaza, condemned Goldstone’s findings.

Oink oink!

In a statement earlier on Wednesday, he said: “The Goldstone report is a lie, distorted, biased and supports terror. Adopting the report might grant support for terror organisations around the world.

“Democratic states need to understand that endorsing it will severely harm their abilities to cope with terror organisations and terror in general.”

Right… you war criminal!

Criminals Against Humanity!

And Gabriela Shalev, Israel’s ambassador to the UN, did not refer at all to the Goldstone report during the meeting on Wednesday, but dismissed its findings before the debate even began.

“I regret to say that the Goldstone report is one-sided, biased and therefore wrong – just as the forum and mandate that established its mission,” she said.

‘Not justifiable’

The Goldstone report recommends that its conclusions be sent on to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor in The Hague if Israel and Hamas do not hold their own credible investigations within six months.

The report accuses Israel of using disproportionate force during its war against Gaza-based Palestinian fighters.

It also accuses the Israeli military of failing to protect civilians during its series of attacks on Gaza.

Israeli officials have condemned the report, saying their country had a right to defend itself from Hamas rocket attacks.

But Desmond Travers, a retired army colonel who worked with Goldstone on the report, dismissed that response.

“We examined that very carefully … but we ruled that this was not a justifiable argument,” Travers, currently with the Institute for International Criminal Investigations, told Al Jazeera.

“This report has taken the world community at large one lurch forward into the whole question of impunity,” he said.

“We cannot lurch back, and I think the world at large doesn’t wish to do that.”

About 1,400 Palestinians – the majority of them civilians – and 13 Israelis were killed during Israel’s three-week war on Gaza between last December and January, which had the stated aim of stopping rocket attacks by Palestinian fighters from the coastal territory.

Two grandmothers were arrested in Ashkelon, Israel for allegedly peddling large amounts of heroin to other drug dealers in the southern part of the country.

The arrests came a few hours after Ashkelon police detectives received intelligence on a 68-year-old woman said to be heavily involved in the heroin trade.

A subsequent police raid on her home uncovered 43 grams of heroin stashed in a shoe that had been placed in a cupboard – 100 times more than the amount of heroin defined by law as enough for personal use, a crime that carries a far less severe penalty.

During her interrogation, the suspect allegedly incriminated a second woman involved in the heroin network, leading officers to launch a second raid in Ashkelon to arrest a 63-year-old grandmother.

Both women have been accused by police of supplying hundreds of thousands of shekels worth of the drug to “drug stations” – apartments in which dealers divide up the goods and often add other chemicals to increase their street value – in Ashkelon and the surrounding areas.

“The 68-year-old suspect has no criminal background. She works as a cleaner, servicing private homes. She wanted to increase her income, since the funds from her pension were insufficient,” a Lachish Subdistrict Police source told The Jerusalem Post.

Police will attempt to gather evidence against dealers who purchased the drugs.

The elder of the two suspects “was not surprised” when officers showed up at her home, the source added, saying, “She expressed regret.”

Selling heroin carries a 20-year maximum jail penalty.

Carter, 84, who helped bring peace between Egypt and Israel with the Camp David Accords when he was president, has maintained a strong interest in the Middle East. He said he has visited the region three times within the past year.

Carter said he’s convinced that withdrawal of Israeli occupying forces from Palestine and neighboring countries will dramatically reduce any threats to Israel.

This blog has challenged their brainwashing tactics about their illegal claims to the Holy Land!

Just reading Wikipedia’s definitions of the origins of these people is proof enough that Palestine never belonged to these morons. As stated time and again, from Abraham and to David and Solomon, the Israelites were anything but Jewish!

According to the Bible, the Israelites (sometimes referred to as “The Twelve Tribes“) were the descendants of the Biblical patriarch Jacob. They were divided into twelve tribes, each descended from one of twelve sons or grandsons of Jacob.

The term Israelite derives from Israel (Hebrew: ישראל (Standard: Yisraʾel; Tiberian: Yiśrāʾēl)), the name given to Jacob after the death of Isaac. (Genesis 32:28-29). His descendants are called the House of Jacob, the Children of Israel, the People of Israel, or the Israelites. [Note: Hebrew and Judaism are not synonymous]

The Hebrew Bible is mainly concerned with the Israelites. According to it, the Land of Israel was promised to them by God. Jerusalem was their capital and the site of the temple at the center of their faith. [Ironically, Judaism had not yet been "revealed" until after Moses came with the Torah].

The Israelites became a local political power with the United Monarchy of Kings Saul, David and Solomon, from c. 1025 BCE[citation needed]. Zedekiah, king of Judah (597-586 BCE), is considered the last king from the House of David.

Wikipedia

Zionists cleverly created the name Israel for the stolen state so that they would lead the sheep of this world to believe that Israel (the state) and Israelite (the sons and descendants of Israel [Jacob]) are one and the same! Remember, it is these people who recently attempted changing and rewriting Wikipedia information so that new terminology supporting their claims would become the de facto standard!

They failed!

Yet they continue with Ethnic Cleansing attempts, home demolitions, Palestinian Body Parts trading and other crimes that Hitler himself wished he had implemented!

A United Nations report on Israel’s war on Gaza says war crimes were committed by both sides in the conflict. [ Now how did Palestinians commit War Crimes? Throwing stones? Defending themselves with primitive weapons? These must be equal to the illegal use of Phosphorus and Dime bombs - among everything else in Israel's Nazi forces' powers and against Palestinian civilians - Weapons of Mass Destruction!]

But most of the criticism was directed at Israel’s conduct. Richard Goldstone, the judge leading the investigation, said Israel had used excessive force and deliberately targeted Palestinian civilians.

On behalf of the UN’s Human Rights Council, the investigators collected evidence, testimonies and even satellite imagery to get an idea of whether Israel or Palestinian factions were in breach of international humanitarian law.

The Jewish state is eyeing Iran’s nuclear programme and is under U.S.-led pressure to enter peace talks with the Palestinians that could entail ceding occupied biblical land. Some of Israel’s ultra-Orthodox Jews have also been protesting against the state’s secular domestic policies.

mob boss Shalom Domrani was released to house arrest Friday just three days after he was arrested on money laundering charges in a raid on what police say is the South’s largest criminal organization.

Police came to the decision to release Domrani after concluding that there was insufficient evidence to hold him in custody.

Domrani and seven other suspects had been arrested on suspicion of laundering more than NIS 10 million through a front currency exchange business in Ashkelon.

Until Tuesday’s arrest, Domrani lived in a walled, heavily secured mansion in Moshav Otzem, near Ashkelon, surrounded by CCTV cameras and patrolled by security guards.

Police consider him to be the most powerful organized crime boss in the South and kept tabs on Domrani’s every move with the help of a surveillance balloon permanently stationed above his home.

Tuesday’s operation, in which the National Crimes section of the Lahav 433 anti-organized crime unit raided the Best Change establishment in Ashkelon, followed an undercover investigation that lasted for over a year, police said. The business allegedly operated as a currency service that formed a part of the financial arm of the crime organization linked to Domrani.

i love orange. it’s my favorite color. i even painted my office at boise state university oran

i love orange. it’s my favorite color. i even painted my office at boise state university orange a few years ago. but in this region colors always take on new meanings that destroy colors and what they mean. for instance, when i first moved to palestine in the summer of 2005 i discovered that orange was the color that the zionist terrorist colonists in gaza were using to protest their removal from occupied gaza. you still see their orange ribbons on backpacks and and rear view mirrors. these are the same people who are building new colonies and expanding them in naqab, al quds, nasra and everywhere else.

but why am i writing about orange? well, actually it’s not the color i’m speaking of. it’s the corporation. when i lived in jordan (2005-2006) i had a land line in my house from the jordanian national telecom company and i had internet from a company called wanadoo. it seems that in the time since i lived here last, both have been swallowed up by orange (which is why i won’t be having a land line or internet service or cell phone service from orange). for the land lines this is a huge issue: it means that jordan has privatized its telecommunications sector to a foreign company. apparently, this happened two years ago:

The Jordanian mobile operator, MobileCom – a subsidiary of Jordan Telecom Group (JTG) has rebranded under the Orange brand name. Jordan Telecom is 51% controlled by France Telecom which in turn, owns Orange.

“With this move, Orange becomes the sole commercial brand for JTG’s fixed, mobile, and internet services,” said Chairman of the Board of Directors of JTG Dr Shabib Ammari. “Our customers will be enjoying Orange’s competitive range of telecom solutions and top quality services, enjoying the premium offering that will meet their needs to full satisfaction through this single and reputable provider,” added Ammari.

The GSM arm of JTG was first registered on 21st September, 1999 and launched full public service across the Kingdom on 15th September, 2000. The infrastructure was provided by Ericsson.

Orange Jordan has around 1.7 million subscribers according to figures from the Mobile World, which gives the company a market share of 36%.

and orange has fully inserted itself and its brand into jordanian life. billboards are everywhere. there are orange ramadan placemats in restaurants and cafes. and they even have some magazine that i found in my hotel room when i was in amman on my way to the u.s. for a couple of days. it is inescapable. but it is also possible not to participate in this orange branding of jordan, which, according to the jordanian blogger black iris, they aren’t offering such hot service:

Since writing that open letter to Orange Telecom Jordan on their terrible service I’ve noticed the link really flying around the twittersphere. It’s gotten around 1,700 views in the past 48 hours, which, along with the comments and emails people left me, is a real indication that many are simply not happy with the Kingdom’s telecom giant and it’s level of service.

but i think there are other reasons, aside from crappy service, that people in jordan should be up in arms that their national telecom industry was handed over to orange. some of what i am about to say is speculative, but the facts will be backed up with reports. my suspicion about orange was first raised because i know it to be one of the main mobile phone companies in the zionist entity. for many years, it was the only mobile company that palestinians had access too before they created their own network, jawal. orange is not an israeli company, but i have been told it was started by two french jews. i have looked to find out more about the people who started and/or who run orange headquarters, but it has been difficult to find anything out on them. my curiosity is that is suspect they are like howard shultz, ceo of starbucks, who donates a significant amount of his profits to the zionist entity every year. i don’t have any such information yet (though if anyone out there knows the dirt on orange please send it my way! ), but here is what wikipedia has to say about it:

Microtel Communications Ltd. was formed in April 1990 as a consortium comprising Pactel Corporation, British Aerospace, Millicom and French company Matra (British Aerospace soon acquired full control of the company). In 1991 Microtel was awarded a license to develop a mobile network in the UK, and in July 1991 Hutchison Telecommunications (UK) Ltd acquired Microtel from BAe. BAe was paid in Hutchison Telecommunications (UK) Ltd. shares, giving the company a 30% share. Hutchison Whampoa held 65% and Barclays Bank the remaining 5%. Microtel was renamed Orange Personal Communications Services Ltd. in 1994. The Orange brand was created by an internal team at Microtel headed by Chris Moss (Marketing Director) and supported by Martin Keogh, Rob Furness and Ian Pond. The brand consultancy Wolff Olins was charged with designing the brand values and logo and advertising agency WCRS created the Orange slogan “The Future’s bright, the Future’s Orange” along with the now famous advertising. The logo is square because a round orange logo already existed for the reprographics company, Orange Communications Limited, designed by Neville Brody in 1993.

Orange plc was formed in 1995 as a holding company for the Orange group. France Telecom formed the present company in 2001 after acquiring Orange plc (which had been acquired by Mannesmann AG, itself purchased by Vodafone shortly after, leading Vodafone to divest Orange) and merging its existing mobile operations into the company. The company was initially 100% owned by France Telecom (although there were and still remain minority investors in some of the national operating companies). In 2001 15% was sold in an IPO, but in 2003 the outstanding shares were bought back by France Telecom.

so there is no proof or connection to the zionist entity in any way yet. but that is okay. there is proof that their hands are dirty any way. like all cell phone companies that exist in the zionist entity, they are a part of the colonial infrastructure. here is a report from who profits laying out how orange, along with the other cell phone companies participate in colonialism and occupation:

All Israeli cellular communication companies are commercially involved in the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Golan Heights. These companies build infrastructure, maintain property and equipment in illegal Israeli settlements, much of it on privately owned Palestinian lands. They all provide services to the Israeli military and to all Israeli settlers, and some provide specially designed services. They use the Israeli control of the Palestinian territory to exploit the Palestinian frequencies and to impose their services on the Palestinian captive market.

Currently there are four Israeli cellular communication service providers: Cellcom, Partner (Orange), Pelephone and MIRS. Cellcom is part of the IDB group, a conglomerate of Israeli and international companies, one of the major players in the Israeli market; Partner is a subsidiary of the Chinese Hutchison Telecommunications International (HTIL); Pelephone is fully owned by Bezeq, the Israeli Telecommunication Corporation; MIRS is a subsidiary of Motorola Israel.

All four have dozens of antennas, transmission stations and additional infrastructure erected on occupied Palestinian land: MIRS holds at least 86 antennas and communication facilities on occupied territory, Cellcom at least 191, Pelephone 195 and Partner 165. As a survey by Yesh Din reveals, many of these antennas and communication facilities were erected on confiscated privately owned Palestinian land. Often, these devices are guarded by Israeli guards, and at least in one occasion, they were used as seeds for a new settlement outpost. Using this infrastructure, the companies provide services to Israelis in these areas, both to the settlements and to the Israeli soldiers operating in the occupied West Bank.

All four, Cellcom, Partner, MIRS and Pelephone, operate service stores in West Bank settlements. Additionally, MIRS is the exclusive provider of cellular phone services to the Israeli army (since 2005 and at least until 2011). This company installs communication units in army vehicles and it builds communication facilities in army bases throughout the West Bank and Golan Heights. The company also offers special rates for service personnel and their family members.

Cellcom, Partner and Pelephone are also operating in the Palestinian market. The conditions of the occupation ensure several advantages for these companies over the Palestinian cellular communication providers. The Israeli authorities do not provide permits for Palestinian companies to install antennas and transmission infrastructure in area C, which is under full Israeli control and constitutes 59% of the entire West Bank, making it virtually impossible for Palestinians to provide cellular coverage in many areas of the West Bank. Additionally, the frequency allocation granted by the Israeli authorities to Palestinian providers is very limited, and the Israeli authorities impose significant limitations on the Palestinian providers when it comes to the import of devices or the on ground installation of communication transmission devices. Even when the Israeli authorities do allow equipment into the Palestinian territory – it is often delayed by months or years, and by the time it arrives to the Palestinian providers it is outdated. Together, these limitations restrict the reception ranges and the overall quality of service by Palestinian providers, and the Palestinians turn to services provided by the Israeli companies, especially when traveling outside of the major Palestinian cities.

The Israeli control of frequencies and the implications of this control have been evident in the case of Wataniya Palestine. In 2007 Wataniya Palestine, a joint venture of Palestine Investment Fund and Wataniya Telecom of Kuwait, was licensed to become the second Palestinian cellular communication provider. On July 28, 2008 an agreement was signed by the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority, allocating frequencies for Wataniya’s use. The frequencies were supposed to be released by April 1 of 2009. As of August of 2009, none were released due to ongoing delays from the Israeli government. Consequently, Wataniya Telecom announced that it would back out of its initiative to operate cellular communication services in the occupied Palestinian territory.

According to a World Bank report issued in January of 2008, 20% to 45% of the Palestinian cellular market at that time was in the hands of Israeli companies. In breach of the Oslo Agreements, the Israeli companies do not pay taxes to the Palestinian Authority (PA) for their commercial activity in the Palestinian market. The World Bank report estimated that the lost annual PA tax revenues due to unauthorized Israeli operations amounted to $60 million. Additionally, the PA claimed that these Israeli companies have been targeting West Bank clients and actively selling to the Palestinians in the West Bank although they were never licensed to do so by the PA.

Surprisingly, even when using Palestinian providers, Palestinian customers have to rely on the Israeli companies because of the restrictions on Palestinian construction of telecommunication infrastructure. The Israeli companies collect a percentage surcharge on all interconnection revenues from calls between Palestinian landlines and cellular phones as well as calls between cellular phones of Palestinian operators and Israeli operators. Similarly, Palestinian operators have to depend on the costly services of Israeli companies for any international call, for calls connecting the West Bank and Gaza and for calls between different areas in the West Bank.

For more information, see the Who Profits website at: www.whoprofits.org.

here is a brief summary on orange in the zionist entity by who profits as well (who i normally don’t link to because they are colonists who don’t see themselves as colonists merely because they don’t live in the west bank):

An Israeli provider of cellular phone services.

The company erected more than 160 antennas and telecommunication infrastructure facilities on occupied land in the West Bank and the Golan Heights.

The company provides cellular communication services to the settlers and Israeli soldiers in the occupied territory. Additionally, the company enjoys the structural advantages of Israeli cellular services providers over Palestinian competitors in the Palestinian market.

so this is why i am boycotting orange. i don’t need a land line. i have a cell phone from a kuwaiti company (zain) and internet (insha’allah soon) from a jordanian company (umniah). but what i see a lot of in jordan is heavy levels of consumption among a population who does not know, does not want to know, or does not want to sacrifice in the ways one must sacrifice in order to resist. part of this may be because i don’t have internet at my house yet and the only place near my house to get it (i.e., within walking distance) is a mall. so i’m being subjected to my least favorite sort of space with people participating in my least favorite activity all around me as i work in an internet cafe around people who eat and drink and smoke all day while i fast (it is ramadan, but there seem to be lots of jordanians who are not fasting). and i’m thinking a lot about sacrifice. not just because it is ramadan and i am fasting and my empty stomach makes me think about it, but also because i don’t understand why it consumption and globalization have turned the world numb and dumb. the divide between want and need is completely gone. and this is something i find so disturbing. i don’t know why people cannot just say no to so many things.

i also wonder why people cannot say no to normalization with the zionist entity. why they cannot say no on a personal or a collective level in places like jordan. for instance, there was a report in ha’aretz a few weeks ago about a sweatshop owned by zionist terrorist colonists in jordan:

If the term “sweatshop” used to be associated with Asian countries and global brands such as Nike, now such methods of production by exploiting workers have made aliyah. Two Israeli entrepreneurs run a sweatshop in Jordan that produces clothes for leading Israeli brands such as Irit, Bonita, Jump and Pashut, Haaretz has learned.

The National Labor Committee, a U.S.-based workers’ rights organization, has released a report accusing the Musa Garments factory in Jordan of employing workers under inhuman conditions, and charges the company with “human trafficking, abuse, forced overtime, primitive dorm conditions, imprisonment and forcible deportations of foreign guest workers.”

The report exposes what is said to be one of the biggest secrets of the Israeli fashion industry, saying the cheap production costs for Israeli labels is a very expensive price for workers’ rights at Musa Garments.

The report says Mr. Musa, the owner, is an Israeli. But the real owners are Jack Braun and Moshe Cohen from Tel Aviv. The factory is located in the Al Hassan industrial area in Irbid, Jordan. The two employ 132 people from Bangladesh, 49 from India and 27 Jordanians. Chinese, Sri Lankans and Nepalese have also worked there in the past. “They all come for one reason only: To earn as much money as they possibly can to pay off the debts they incurred to purchase their three-year work contracts in Jordan, and send money home to their families,” states the report.

The report explains how the “guest workers” face inhuman conditions from their first day. Management takes away their passports, sometimes for the entire three-year period. Workers who asked for their passports back – or at least a copy – were refused, an illegal act and serious human rights violation.

The conditions are close to slavery. Until December 2008, when the economic crisis hit the company, workers averaged shifts of between 12 and a half and 13 and half hours a day, seven days a week – even though their contracts give them Fridays off. They also had to work on Jordanian national holidays. Anyone who missed a shift was fined three days’ wages, the report claims.

After December last year, the pace of production was stepped up and instead of having to sew 30 pieces an hour, workers were made to sew 40 – for the same wages.

“The public must know that products have a heavy human cost too,” said Dr. Roi Wagner of the Kav LaOved (Worker’s Hotline) organization. “The pursuit of lower production [costs] is very often dependent on violating human rights. The price is paid by Israeli workers whose jobs disappear, and also by the ‘cheap’ workers who produce goods in places where it is easier to abuse them. The manufacturer is not the only one responsible, but also the companies [that buy the goods] and the consumers,” said Wagner.

The list of complaints is long, including subhuman living conditions such as 4-8 people in a tiny dormitory room, no showers and water for only an hour or two a night. There is no heat in the rooms in the winter, and the bathrooms are filthy. The roofs leak.

One of the owners, Jack Braun, claims the truth is completely different. “The report is a total lie,” he said. “The workers went on strike for a reason I don’t know. As a result, human rights organizations arrived and the workers lied – though every one of their claims was proved false. They attacked the Bangladeshi consul and police who tried to talk to them. The conditions we provide them, in terms of work and food and housing, are above and beyond. We always paid them as required – they earn tiny salaries, so why shouldn’t we pay them?” said Braun.

Bonita’s management said they do not work with the company.

Kobi Hayat, one of the owners of Pashut, said: “I do not know of the place since we work through a subcontractor who receives the material from us, manufactures in Jordan and returns the clothes. I have never been there, and I do not know who receives the work, so it is hard for me to discuss the claims.”

a few days later another article appeared saying it was not a sweatshop:

Jordan’s Ministry of Labor on Wednesday rejected accusations that a local factory supplying clothing to Israel was abusing its workers, saying there was no evidence of either human trafficking or forced work.

On Sunday The National Labor Committee, a U.S.-based workers’ rights organization, released a report accusing the Musa Garments factory in Jordan of employing workers under inhuman conditions, and charges the company with “human trafficking, abuse, forced overtime, primitive dorm conditions, imprisonment and forcible deportations of foreign guest workers.”

of course, it is great to see that the government in jordan is concerned about having a sweatshop or human trafficking in their midst. but whee is the outrage over having a zionist terrorist colonist business on their land and in their midst? given that official jordanian policy is that they are at “peace” with the enemy, it makes sense that the government isn’t outraged. but where are the people? compare this to how egyptians responded recently when the government was working on a gas deal with the zionist entity as reported by adam morrow and khaled moussa al-omrani in the electronic intifada:

Opposition figures and political activists have slammed a new deal to sell Egyptian liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Israel at what they say are vastly reduced prices.

“Egyptian gas is being sold to Israel at prices far below the international average,” Ibrahim Yosri, former head of legal affairs and treaties at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry told IPS. “This agreement is proof that the ruling regime is unconcerned with public opinion and is insistent on depriving the Egyptian public of its rightful national assets.”

On 28 July, Egypt formally agreed to sell between 12.5 billion and 16 billion cubic meters of LNG per year to Israel for a period of between 17 and 22 years. The Cairo-based Egyptian-Israeli energy consortium Egyptian Mediterranean Gas (EMG) will supply the gas to Israeli firm Dorad Energy for a total reported cost of between $2.1 billion and $3.3 billion.

Given longstanding popular condemnation of Israeli policies, particularly those relating to Palestinian populations in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank, the deal also stirred political controversy.

“It is absolutely forbidden that we support a country currently at war with Islam and Muslims, and which occupies the land of Palestine,” Nasr Farid Wassil, former Grand Mufti of the republic, was quoted as saying in the independent press. “All economic relations with such a country should be severed.”

Despite its unpopularity, the deal is not the first: under an earlier energy accord, Egypt has been exporting LNG to Israel since May of last year. Extracted from fields in Egypt’s northern Sinai Peninsula, gas is pumped via submarine pipeline from the coastal town al-Arish to the Israeli port city Ashkelon.

The first accord, signed in 2005, allowed EMG to sell 1.7 billion cubic meters of LNG annually to the Israeli state-run Israel Electric Corporation for a period of 15 years. The sale price was never officially disclosed, fueling speculation by critics that gas was being sold to Israeli buyers at reduced prices.

Egypt is one of the few Arab states, along with Jordan and Mauritania, to have full diplomatic relations with Israel. Nevertheless, bilateral cooperation has remained severely hampered by popular disapproval of Israeli policies.

meanwhile the united states–and hillary clinton in particular–are pushing normalization among african countries with the zionist entity as ips reporters jerrold kessel and pierre klochendler explain:

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been busy pursuing one aspect of the Obama Administration’s agenda – carrying to Africa the U.S. message of accountability. With a rather different agenda, Israel’s foreign minister Avigdor Liberman also has Africa in his sights.

Whereas the U.S. is pressing a moral message hard – more democracy and less corruption, the Israeli approach is entirely pragmatic.

It’s not the first time Israel has been heavily involved in Africa.

Tanzanian freshmen at the University of Dar es Salaam will be excused for being unaware of the fact that their campus strikingly resembles facilities in Tel Aviv and Beersheba, two of Israel’s leading universities. That’s because the UDSM campus was designed by Israeli architects.

Nearly half a century ago, there was unexpected interaction between sub- Saharan Africa, just emerging from the dark years of colonial rule, and Israel – which had come into existence a decade-and-a-half earlier after ridding itself of a British presence – busily engaged in reaching out to other emerging nations.

Ever since, it’s been a relationship of ups and downs.

The aid to development programmes of Israeli experts, especially in the fields of irrigation, agriculture, communal rural development and medical training, won Israel considerable sympathy, and friends, in many of the newly- independent states. Hundreds of African students and experts underwent specialised training, tailor-made for their societies, in Israel.

But, as was the case in the Cold War era, the Israeli development projects were not entirely altruistic.

There was also the political motive of trying to break the ostracism in which Arab states and their allies in the Third World were encasing the fledgling new Middle Eastern state. This became especially acute following the 1955 conference of the non-aligned world in Bandung in Indonesia, where non- co-operation with Israel was adopted as policy.

There was a strategic dimension too. Israel’s legendary first prime minister David Ben-Gurion and his foreign minister Golda Meir foresaw a policy of encircling the circle of Israel’s regional isolation through alliances with non- Arab states on the periphery of the region – Turkey and Iran and, critically, Ethiopia in the Horn of Africa.

Just back from an extensive tour of South America, Liberman is soon to set out on a five-nation African tour. The Israeli foreign ministry calls it “an out- of-the-ordinary visit”, the most extensive ever by Israel’s top diplomat to the continent. He will criss-cross Africa to take in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Angola and Nigeria.

if you look at the website for the orange company, by the way, or its wikipedia page, you’ll notice that many of the above-listed countries in africa are also being subjected to orange telecom. just say no.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel announced on Monday plans to build 455 new homes for settlers thugs in the occupied West Bank, a move that could be followed by a deal with the United States on a limited construction moratorium.

Following are facts about the settlements Israel has built in the territory it captured in a 1967 Middle East war now at the heart of a rare rift between Israel and the United States.

Some 300,000 Israelis live in more than 100 settlements Israel has built [on stolen lands] in the West Bank, and another 200,000 live in Arab East Jerusalem, areas home to some 2.5 million Palestinians seeking independent statehood. Israel has annexed East Jerusalem as part of its capital in a move not recognized internationally.

Many settlers living in enclaves nearest to the cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem have cited cheaper housing costs as a motive. Others see themselves as pioneers exercising a biblical right of Jews to lands they call Judea and Samaria. [AshkaNazis and Sephardic Jews have no claim to Palestine! This includes every Zionist Israeli occupying Palestine since 1948 ]

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas demands a freeze in settlement construction before peace talks stalled since December may resume. Abbas cites a 2003 U.S. and European-backed peace “road map” that calls for a stop to settlement building alongside parallel steps by the Palestinians to curb violence against Israel.

Benjamin Netanyahu, a right-wing prime minister who took office in March backed by a coalition of pro-settler parties who want Israel to keep much of the West Bank under any peace deal, says he would not build new settlements but wants to expand some existing enclaves to accommodate what he calls “natural growth” of the population. [What natural growth? Israel's non-Jewish minority, consisting of more than 75 percent Arab Muslims, is growing at nearly 5 percent a year, faster than Israel's Jewish population at 3 percent annually (according to 1997 figures)].

The World Court deems settlements as illegal under international law, including the Geneva Conventions, a ruling Israel disputes. The United States and European Union have commonly viewed the settlements as obstacles to peace and urged their cessation.

Netanyahu insists the settlements are not the “heart” of the conflict, and wants Palestinians to recognize Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state before they may achieve statehood. Palestinians reject this demand saying they have already recognized Israel and should not have to define its ethnicity. [Every time the Arabs accept a demand, the NaZionists create new demands every year!]

Simple Mathmatics

“At the heart of this is simple mathematics,” said the Guardian. “Forecasts from the United States’ Population Reference Bureau show Israel’s population doubling in 45 years, that of the West Bank in 21 years and that of Gaza in 15 years. In other words, Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem, and Israeli Arabs will outnumber the Jewish population by 2020.”

Once again, the Nazi state of Israel approves building hundreds of homes for the thugs of the world

Once again, the Nazi state of Israel approves building hundreds of homes for the thugs of the world referred to as settlers! Not only are these homes being built on stolen Palestinian lands, but the act is a direct challenge to the International Community’s insistence that these settlements, on occupied territories, are illegal.

Israel to approve hundreds of new settler homes

By Marius Schattner (AFP)

JERUSALEM — Israel will approve construction of West Bank settlement homes before it considers a freeze sought by Washington, a top government official said on Friday, sparking Palestinian outrage.

The plan is also certain to anger the US administration, which has pushed for a freeze of Jewish settlements in an effort to restart the stalled Middle East peace process.

“In the next days the prime minister will approve construction starts and then he might consider a freeze for a limited time under certain conditions,” the official told AFP, asking not to be identified.

He confirmed a report in the Jerusalem Post saying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would consider a moratorium on settlement construction “for a few months” after the green light is given to build hundreds of new homes in the occupied West Bank.

The international community considers all Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian territory to be illegal

Yet, I think this a good way of flushing money down the drain!

For sooner, than later, these thugs will destroy what they call home by themselves! Why will these subhuman terrorists do so? Remember the CIA report that Israel will end in 2023 or sooner? That will be a day of Joy and Celebration!

A study conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has cast doubt over Israel’s survival beyond the next 20 years.

The CIA report predicts “an inexorable movement away from a two-state to a one-state solution, as the most viable model based on democratic principles of full equality that sheds the looming specter of colonial Apartheid while allowing for the return of the 1947/1948 and 1967 refugees. The latter being the precondition for sustainable peace in the region.”

The study, which has been made available only to a certain number of individuals, further forecasts the return of all Palestinian refugees to the occupied territories, and the exodus of two million Israeli – who would move to the US in the next fifteen years.

“There is over 500,000 Israelis with American passports and more than 300,000 living in the area of just California,” International lawyer Franklin Lamb said in an interview with Press TV on Friday, adding that those who do not have American or western passport, have already applied for them.

“So I think the handwriting at least among the public in Israel is on the wall…[which] suggests history will reject the colonial enterprise sooner or later,” Lamb stressed.

He said CIA, in its report, alludes to the unexpectedly quick fall of the apartheid government in South Africa and recalls the disintegration of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, suggesting the end to the dream of an ‘Israeli land’ would happen ‘way sooner’ than later.

The study further predicts the return of over one and a half million Israelis to Russia and other parts of Europe, and denotes a decline in Israeli births whereas a rise in the Palestinian population.

Lamb said given the Israeli conduct toward the Palestinians and the Gaza strip in particular, the American public — which has been voicing its protest against Tel Aviv’s measures in the last 25 years — may ‘not take it anymore’.

Some members of the US Senate Intelligence Committee have been informed of the report.

So go ahead and build them: just as you destroyed your “Settlements” in Gaza and Sinai so that Palestinians or Egyptians will not benefit from them, these colonies will also be destroyed – by you – to fulfill the prophecy of this report!

It’s mind boggling that Palestinian children are being forced to learn about the Holocaust! Do Israeli children learn of the 21st century Holocaust and Shoa committed by their parents against Palestinian women and children? Do they know they are being raised on stolen Palestinian lands? Do they know that they are growing up in the most despicable Apartheid state that ever existed?

Hamas spiritual leader Younis al-Astal lashed out after hearing that the U.N. Relief and Works Agency, the main U.N. body aiding Palestinian refugees, planned to introduce lessons about the Holocaust to Gaza students.

Palestinians have not yet forgotten the recent Massacres Israel committed against them! Will they ever recover? They can still smell the White Phosphor (illegal weapons of Mass Destruction) Israel used to annihilate them. They haven’t forgotten the massacres and genocide they have been living for 60 misreable years!

So now Hamas/ Palestinians are Holocaust deniers! The audacity!

Adding the Holocaust to the curriculum would amount to “marketing a lie and spreading it,” al-Astal wrote in a statement. ATW agrees!

UNRWA provides education, health care and welfare services to more than half of Gaza’s 1.4 million people. Spokesman Chris Gunness said a final decision has not been made about the Holocaust course for Gaza schools.

“While the Holocaust is currently not included on the basis of age appropriateness, all elements (of the curriculum) remain under review and under evolution,” he said.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri also objected to including what he referred to as the “so-called Holocaust” in the lesson plan.

“We think it’s more important to teach Palestinians the crimes of the Israeli occupation,” he said.

Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev said countries contemplating ending their boycott of Hamas must “seriously reconsider” after the Hamas statements, which he described as “obscene.”

The Holocaust is not taught in West Bank schools, said an education ministry official in Western-backed President Mahmoud Abbas‘ government.

Israelis have long complained that Palestinian textbooks present Israel only as an enemy, despite a series of interim peace deals. Also, they charge that maps in the books do not show Israel at all. And why should they? What do the Israelis teach their children – other than how to use weapons to kill what they claim is an inferior race known as Palestinians? We’ve heard their Rabbis calls to kill every Palestinian man, woman and child!

Palestinians make similar charges about Israeli education. Recently Israel’s education minister ordered a halt to using the accepted Arabic term “nakba,” or catastrophe, to describe the results of the two-year war that followed Israel’s creation, when about 700,000 Palestinians fled or were forced from their homes.

Many Palestinians are reluctant to acknowledge the full extent of the Holocaust because they feel it provided legitimacy for Israel’s establishment. A majority of Gaza’s 1.4 million people are Palestinian refugees or their descendants. Courtesy of the Israeli and Jewish thieves that stole the lands!

Some parents opposed the idea of their children learning about the Holocaust.

“I don’t want them teaching my children Jewish lies,” Mohammed Silmi, 33, said Monday, after driving his son to a U.N. school in Gaza City on the back of a motorbike. “It will just be Zionist propaganda.”
