Penguin’s is what I think of when I look at these boots… These are ridiculous not to mention how dirty the white top cap is going to get in this awful raining, muddy wintery weather we are having. I would have prefered a dark grey toe cap for contrast but I think the white is awful.

Bloggade aldrig igår eftersom jag hade allt för mycket att göra. Bakade en tårta till Mor och Plastpappa som fyller år samma dag, 83 år sammanlagt. Detta tog mig ungefär fem timmar och var det jobbigaste jag någonsin gjort i matväg. Inget gick fel dock, vilket var jävligt skönt. Receptet hittar du HÄR. Min tårta är som vanligt när jag lagar mat/bakar inte ens i närheten av det färdiga resultatet. Mitt i allt kommer en leverantör till dörren med mina skor och lite andra grejer jag beställt från Asos.com. Och kvällen avrundades med Transformers 2 på BlueRay via projektor hemma hos Anders.

Vi kommer nærmere og nærmere, og jeg ville da absolut ikke have noget imod at skåle det nye år ind i denne kjole.

Til the next Web dressing Room…

Cette année, j’ai décidé de ne pas enfiler 3 pulls et une petite veste pour l’hiver, ni d’emprunter le manteau de maman, si de mettre mon parka “golddigga” à toutes les sauces. Je commence donc la quête du manteau parfait. Ce qui risque d’être une tâche difficile étant donné que je le visualise déjà jusqu’aux moindre détails. J’ai croisé plusieurs demoiselles avec des manteaux un peu vintage, assez basic tout en restant très féminin et je crois que c’est ce que je recherche pour cet hiver! J’ai épluché quelqu’uns de mes online shop favoris, parce-que jusqu’ici rien ne m’a sauté aux yeux en magasins. On commence avec du Topshop, il me plait vraiment celui-ci, cela dit ne se marine pas avec tout si?

J’aime beaucoup la coupe, le détail de l’arrière qui fait un peu toute la différence et le coté “vintage” si j’ose dire du pattern et ses couleurs. Le problème d’un manteau comme celui-ci, et ma grande question mise à part le fait que ca ne se porte pas forcément avec tout, c’est : Ca ne se porte jamais ouvert une pièce pareil, dommage ou ca peut quand même avoir son charme et ne pas perdre toute sa beauté ? Je suis ensuite allée faire un tour sur Asos…

Le côté volant du bas ne me déplaît pas mais je ne suis pas sûre de vouloir quelque chose qui ressemble à ca, par contre la fermeture et les boutons sont chouettes. Il reste assez basic mais surtout noir. Des vestes noirs, j’en ai des milliers dans mon dressing. De la plus chaude à la plus légère et de la plus longue à la plus courte bref! A méditer… J’ai aussi jettté un oeil sur le site de promod et…

Comme pour celui de Topshop, gros coup de foudre pour le pattern et les couleurs, le petit détail en plus, ici en l’occurrence la petite broche. La coupe me plait, enfin disons sa longueur, cela dit il est a essayé car non cintré lors de la prochaine excursion shoppinguesque. Je ferais biensûre un saut chez les habituels h&m, Zara & co. So, Skinny Leg everyting has been ‘In’ for a very Loooong time thanks to Kate Moss (Don’t get me wrong, I love her style, but skinnies really don’t suit me, as much as I want them to, I’m not bitter! Honest!). Anyway, I’m going to make a prediction :  Wide leg Trousers will come back in! I’ve been right about this sort of thing before ( wrong aswell, but I’ll dismiss that memory!). I’ll just pray to the Fashion God that the wide leg makes a comeback, they’re … kinder to me. I’m not thinking 70’s bell leg , or whatever they were called, more Parisian chic, a la the Asos pair below. Doesn’t she look comfier than if she were in skinnies ?!

Sempre achei que brinco preto só privilegia as loiras, pois a cor escura do acessório destaca mais fácil em quem tem cabelo claro!!! Daí andei vendo essas fotos, de gente morena com o tal do brinco preto (escuro versus escuro?), e não é que fica bom! Okay, I know the thought of Christmas coming soon may make some of you cringe, but, it is inevitably coming , and concidering how long it can take for stuff to arrive around christmas I though it might be a good idea to do a post on all things gift wise now, it might spur somebody on to get their gifts done, save worrying later. So, here are a few things that I thought might be nice to give, and get!!! (hint, hint, family of mine!). Most are stuff you can get off the internet. I’m going to concentrate on jewellery for this post and do some others later.

Jewellery

I find jewellery is always a good option at christmas. The problem I find is getting interesting things at a price that doesn’t leave you broke after just buying one item. The pieces on the left are from Rock My Lobsterx, they do all sorts of things at around the £6 – £7 mark which means you can possibly buy a few pieces. They have ‘alternative’ items aswell so it’s not your Claire’s reproductions , which is great.

If you’ve maybe got a bit more cash to play with you might like to try Eclectic Eccentricity (right!) jewellery. They have some amazing individual, detailed pieces. They come at higher prices but are deffinitly worth it. I’m loving the Bicycle and the Robot especially. Prices range from £8 to £ 43.50.

For millions of choices by thousands of sellers there’s no better place than Etsy. For those that haven’t heard of it  – It’s amazing. You’ll need a paypal account to buy things, but, you can get things for £1 or so in places (most items are priced in $ so bare in mind the conversion to £’s or €’s etc, also some sellers don’ ship Internationally!). You can get one of a kind pieces that may never be sold again. It’s not just jewellery though there are tons of gift ideas. The necklace on the left is by Pookeh and I actually have a silver version – I love it!

Some other internet shops you might like to try are Ji Ji Kiki, Elsie Belle, Me and Zena, Accessorize and This Charming Girl. You can never beat Asos either, for lots of variety in design and price.

Jeg ender med ikke at ha’ råd til julegaverne i år. Men! Hvis jeg ikke får den blå cardigan, jeg postede for et par dage siden, i julegave, bliver jeg simpelthen nødt til at give mig selv en julegave, og det bliver så dén.
Jeg har ikke kunnet holde mund i dag om, hvor meget jeg glæder mig til i morgen. Vi har en klassetur til Horsens Kunstmuseum, men derefter må vi gerne blive i Horsens og gå rundt lidt. For at sige det pænt, er Horsens ikke lige min yndlingsby, hvor Århus derimod er yndlingensbyen! Men man må jo nøjes med det der er. Heldigvis ligger der en H&M i Horsens. Og H&M er altså en af mine yndlingsbutikker, så jeg glæder mig sindssygt meget til at se deres nye kollektion. Jeg skal kigge lidt på sko og smykker til galla. Forhåbentligt kan jeg finde noget, som jeg kan bruge.

Jeg har brugt dagen hjemme, men den stod desværre på tyskaflevering heeeele dagen. Noget, som jeg ikke er særlig glad for. Men det gik rimelig godt faktisk. Jeg blev færdig på en halvanden times tid, hvor der faktisk er blevet sat to-en-halv time elevtid af til den. HURRAY!!
Anyroad. Der er “Så Flyt Dog” i fjerneren, og selvom jeg har set den før, så kan jeg godt lige klare en typisk amerikansk romantisk komedie. Hvem kan ikke det?

Just yesterday I was praising Asos for their social media endeavours, and they’ve gone and stepped up their game. I’ve just discovered Asosreviews.com through Twitter; it’s a great tool that monitors brand sentiment on Twitter, and, unsurprisingly, the results are pretty positive:

Let’s compare that to a similar graph for HSBC:

Both these projects were put together by the same company, thruSITES. The difference, as far as I can tell, is that the HSBC one was put together as a demonstration, while Asos proactively approached the company to put together something similar. It’s no surprise that the company with the initiative to do this is the one with far more positive sentiment.

All companies should be monitoring their online mentions in some way, but this step shows that Asos have the confidence to share the results with the world and encourage their customers’ feedback.

If in the winter of 2008 boots with jeans tucked in were a statement, then this season they are a complete must have. Partly popularized by countless AllSaints window displays, the military boots were the only things to wear on your feet and the high street did some good interpretations, and oddly enough, River Island, my least favorite brand ever, seemed at the forefront of this. Not having £160 to spend on a pair of AllSaints ones, and partly because the men’s ones are too high and look a bit shit if you aren’t a girl, I found a pair on Asos, and now, with a years wear, they are pretty much my ideal boots. This season, they have a really good range of own brand ‘worker’ boots and have produced some awesome Timbaland knockoffs (not the timbalands you’re thinking of) with the canvas side that make quite a statement.

This season AllSaints have taken on board the hiking trend with their low Roam boots. I’m still not sold on the whole walking boot thing this season, but AllSaints subtle use of hiking eyelets allow you to incorporate the trend without feeling like you’re back doing the Duke Of Edinburgh award.

Like them or not, Doc Martens are inescapable this season. They were big in the summer so winter is going to be huge for them. Although there are many variations, with the three eyelet, 10 and 14 eyelet versions to name a few, the most popular ones that have been cropping up everywhere have been the 8 eyelet version. Unfortunately, unless you’re 6 foot 2, they can be very hard to pull off. The biggest problem is the clumpy soul, which defines the Dm’s. They need to be worn with a narrow silhouette at the bottom and really over sized on top to balance the outfit out. This can be achieved with some black or indigo skinnies and either a big chunky fair isle, wax jacket or a nice duffle. The problem then comes with wearing them out, you can’t keep your top half chunky when you’re out for the night so this is where it pays to be tall, so you can where a huge t-shirt to keep up the silhouette. However, if you’re average height like me, it can just about work. If a fitted t-shirt for you is a small, go for X-L, most t-shirts go out more than down when you go up in sizes so an XL will sit over you’re crotch and create a really nice contrast against some stick thin pins. And as long as you’re feet aren’t above a ten, the clump of the Dm’s will be managable! My favorite colour is the cherry. It works really well with winter tones like khaki and navy, just avoid buying the green Dm’s as they look like laced wellingtons. And finally, shop around, because you can get them under £50 if you look past the high street shoe shops.
