Mexico City

Drug cartels that have waged bloody turf battles across Mexico’s border region have now brought their fight to the outskirts of Mexico City, federal police said Thursday in announcing the arrest of 10 alleged members of an armed hit squad.

The eight men and two women arrested Wednesday were allegedly working for the Sinaloa-based Beltran Leyva cartel and had been hired to attack the rival La Familia cartel, which has allegedly moved into the capital from the nearby state of Michoacan.

“It is clear that these two gangs, the two cartels, are already on the outskirts of Mexico City,” said acting federal police Commissioner Rodrigo Esparza, adding “there is a war between these two criminal gangs for the territory.”

Peace vigil in Ciudad Juarez

It is common for lawyers everywhere to cover their office walls with diplomas. The Mexican criminal defense attorney Salvador Urbina is making a different statement. His walls are hung with swords — a hundred sabers, daggers, cutlasses and Japanese katanas, the blades kept sharp.

The weapons are real, but Urbina no longer sleeps in the city where he practices law. It is far too dangerous. He now spends his nights across the border in a bland suburb of El Paso and commutes to the deadliest city in Mexico each morning.

Listening to his speech, during an on air discussion, I realized Americans had good reason to be “unplugged.” In a five year span, President John F. Kennedy, Malcom X, Dr. Martin Luther King, and Robert F. Kennedy were all publicly executed. Their voices encouraged power of the people, demanded the best of Americans, and acknowledged years of racial injustice. A collective post traumatic stress disorder seized the political consciousness of Americans, the Vietnam War raged on, and a catatonic cloud descended.

Four years ago, I watched the Democratic National Convention, and for the first time saw Barack Obama. I called my mother and eight year old daughter in to watch him. My daughter said, “He sounds like a president” and walked back out to play. My mother said, “I hope no one shoots him.” I know exactly where she was when JFK was killed. Anyone alive then can tell you how they found out. The political passion so many young people now feel, they remember. The anxiety they feel in this election is quietly talked about, but not very loudly.

The McCain camp have made a pivotal decision to attack on a personal level. Most of the pundits are talking about how xenophobic and racially charged statements affect votes. Sarah Palin continues to infer Democrat Barack Obama is “palling around with terrorists” and doesn’t see the U.S. like other Americans. She emphasizes, “He’s pallin’ around with terrorists who would target their own country!” Barack Hussein Obama is repeated over and over at McCain rallies and even on local Anchorage right wing talk shows. They are trying to invoke a terrorist fear in voters. It is a dangerous and unfounded connection. Supporters in the crowd have responded with “Kill him” and “Terrorist.” Those charges have been tacitly endorsed by both John McCain and Sarah Palin. During the debate last night, McCain was too much of a coward to repeat Palin’s racially tinged attacks while on the same stage as Obama.

This is not only damaging the McCain-Palin campaign, it is eroding hard fought ground America has already covered. We have come a long way in terms of race, and yet we have only begun to move forward. We all lose when the Republican ticket sacrifices racial gains in an attempt to win the White House. This is not the change voters seek. This is fearful fodder for dangerous radicals.

Prologue

At the critical timing of the Russian and American cold war, a special perfectionist is born. Working for the Russian, he has amazing reflexes, and is able to do almost anything. He plans to take over a tank that can launch nuclear missiles from one country to another. He is known as the Legendary Soldier, or the Legend.

Silvok Drake, a Russian Born American, he is a talented soldier with great potential. Can he stop The Legend from making Russia win the Cold War, and thus force America to nuke Russia as a counter? Silvok finds out that the enemy that is threatening to destroy America is actually closer than he thinks.

“The Cold War will end, and so will the world. Russia shall conquer all.” -Silus

Chapter One- The Second Meeting

Silvok Drake picked up a Desert Eagle pistol from one of the corpse at the White House. He looked up at the sky and said “I’ll get you…” Immediately, he received a radio transmission. “Hey, I think I’ve found the guy you’re looking for. I believe he’s at the… Let me check, the “WASHINGTON D.C. WARSTORAGE FACILITIES.” “Okay, thanks.” He rushed to the war storage facilities. Inside, he saw a lot of corpse. “Oh no, I’m too late…” BANG! BANG! BANG! Gunshots… he ran to the technical development room and saw even more corpse. He looked at the stairs and saw a dark figure standing. “Hello… Silvok… I was expecting you…”said Silus without even turning around and facing him. “How do you know my name, and how did you know I was even coming here.” “An obvious trap, isn’t it?” “What do you mean? I’m supposed to capture you, so why send me here?” “An obvious answer, too, isn’t that right… brother?”

Chapter Two- The Sniper Nuke

He drew his gun, and shot Silvok’s Desert Eagle out of his hands. He then pointed his pistol to his forehead. You can join me, or I will be forced to annihilate you.” “What are your plans, Silus?” “My plans?” Silus grinned and said, “Isn’t it obvious? Why do you think I chose this place? And I think you should know what the Americans has just finished developing…” “What do you mean?” “Foolish brother… Magneta, they call it. Magneta. And I just finished sending the blueprints to Russia.” He pressed a button and there was an explosion. “There goes 10 million dollars.” “The Cold War will end, and so will the world. Russia shall conquer all.”

Chapter Three- Silus

Silvok somersaulted to his Desert Eagle and shot Silus on the forehead. The bullet just bounced out of his head and to the ground. “What… are you?” “Ahahahaha… I am inside the WarRob, the ultimate War Robot. Inside this armor, I am invincible.” BAM BAM BAM! He continued shooting, but with no effect. Silus took out his shirt. His body was made out of metal. At the middle of his body, was a glowing red core. “A pistol can’t penetrate this armor.” Silvok quickly considered that the core is most likely its batteries. He thought of a way to break the core. He took a flare gun (a gun used to shoot at the sky to send a signal to your allies.) out of his pockets. “But maybe this can…” He shot the core with the flare gun. Silvok flung back 30 feet. “Impressive. My mission here is complete. We shall meet again.” He put smoke grenades all over the place and ran away.

Chapter Four- Betrayal

“Good job. Now that I have the blueprints, Russia can rule the world.” “Okay Gene, but give me the WarRob.” “Oh, sorry, but I have no need of you anymore or with your imbecile bargains.” Gene pulled out an AK-47 and shot Silus. Silus dodged them all, but Gene jumped up 60 feet high, took out a sword, and stabbed him. “Aurgh… what the heck…?” “Hahaha.. I call it the HGP, or the Human Gene Project. Apparently, I have the gene’s of the strongest and fastest athletes in the world.”

Part 1

Prologue

Chapter One- The Legend

He drew his knife and his pistol. He was ready to infiltrate the US military base. He was called the Legend, but nobody really knew who he was. He was to place TNT’s on USA’s Washington D.C. military supply depot to decrease the enemy soldier’s weapon efficiency. 250m away from the entrance, he headshot’d the entrance guards. He quickly sneaked inside and killed a few soldiers guarding the weapon storage building. He quickly planted TNT’s all around it. Mission accomplished. He sneaked away without anyone knowing he was ever there. He went back to his helicopter, and smiled as he pressed the detonator.

Chapter Two- Silvok Drake

Silvok Drake, a Russian man that was born in America. He is a high-ranked with a good reputation. His mission was to guard the supply depot, as he was told that there was supposed to be a infiltration inside the base. He received a radio transmission from one of the scouts. “Mayday! We’re under attack. Washington D.C. supply depot is under attack! Repeat! Mayday!” He immediately pressed the alarm button. Nothing happened. “What the…” The next moment, he heard an explosion. He looked out at the window and saw a helicopter. Inside the helicopter, he saw a Russian man with the grin of an assassin. They met eye contact and the man winked.

Chapter Three- Initiation

The Legend planted TNT’s all over the supply depots near Washington D.C. He killed hundreds of men without even getting a scratch. He thought it was the best way to create an diversion. He announced that his next base to infiltrate is a base in New York. And he was going to infiltrate that. No one will ever suspect that his true goal is not delaying the US military arms efficiency, but to create a diversion.

Chapter Four- Assassinations

BAM! He shot the final bullet out of his gun, and his training ended. “Wow Mr. Drake, that’s incredible. Both Your accuracy with all guns and your agility are all S-Ranked!” “Hehe… I guess I’m just a natural talent, one that comes one every decade.” After the long day, he thought about what happened at the supply depot. The mystery assassin that wiped out the whole supply depot men without leaving any evidence. Just then, the CIA called him. “Yo, what’s up?” “Silvok, we need you quickly!” “What’s wrong?” “Multiple supply depots that holds extremely powerful weapons are getting bombed!” “The assassin is the same one that infiltrated our supply depot… The assassin’s name is Silus. He’s working for a terriost group called Kaio 3. He’s going to infiltrate the Sharpay Army Depot in New York soon. And most importantly, his weakness is –BAM- ERAHHHHHHHHHHHH – beep beep”

“Well, Silus? You want a fight, you got a fight!”

On this date on the evening of April 14, 1865, an event took place which forever altered the course of a wounded and war battered America, when then U.S President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated. The promise of a peace at the hand of a leader who oversaw the war, was tried by its mighty challenges, traveled across the scarred and combat battered terrain of America, visiting wounded war veterans, faces darkened by despair and poverty, whites fighting the war to keep America from being torn asunder, and of blacks who remained in the bondage of institutional slavery’s heavy and tarnished chains; died along with Lincoln.

The great promise of coming to realize the “better angels of our nature” would not come to fruition and would be impeded in the decades ahead, as blood spilled dried on America’s grassy battlefields and both the haunting smoke and thunder of cannon and gunfire.

But originally the national chaos and crisis was to be greater. Then U.S General for the Union Ulysses S Grant, was originally supposed to be attending the show at Ford’s theater. An assassin who was also staying at the same hotel as Vice President Andrew Johnson was supposed to murder him, but after a few drinks he decided not to go through with it. Also, then U.S Secretary of State William H Seward and his son were attacked at their home. Seward was attacked and stabbed both in the throat and breast while in bed, but survived.

Here are some original reports of Lincoln’s death:

New York Herald Sun (Herald Dispatch on April 14)-

Assassination has been inaugurated in Washington. The bowie knife and pistol have been applied to President Lincoln and Secretary [of state] Seward. The former was shot in the throat, while at Ford’s Theatre tonight. Mr Seward was badly cut about the neck, while in his bed at his residence.

Following that and a string of other dispatches, here was one that appeared the next morning April 15 at 1:30A.M:

This evening at about 9:30pm, at Ford’s Theatre, the President, while sitting in the private box with Mrs Lincoln, Mrs Harris, and Major Rothburn, was shot by an assassin who suddenly entered the box and approached behind the president.

The assassin then leaped upon the stage brandishing a large dagger or knife, and made his escape in the rear of the theatre.

The pistol ball entered the back of the President’s head and penetrated nearly through the head. The wound is mortal.

The President has been insensible ever since it was inflicted and is now dying.

Its tremendously powerful to read these words as if the incident is still unfolding. But here is a bit on maybe what could have been. Here is a piece of the article which describes Lincoln’s demeanor on that which would be the last day of his life.

At a cabinet meeting, at which General Grant was present, the subject of the state of the country and the prospect of a speedy peace was discussed. The President was very cheerful and hopeful, and spoke very kindly of General [Robert. E] Lee and other of the Confederacy, and of the establishment of government in Virginia.

Recently I had the pleasure of attending Richard Tarnas’ workshop The Harmony of the Spheres.  What was so special about this workshop is that Richard was able to demonstrate how music related to specific planetary energies.  For example the whining electric guitar is Uranus (the planet Uranus is the ‘ruler’ of Aquarius).  Venus (ruler of Libra) produces a totally different sound, rich in melody and harmony.  Neptune (Pisces) introduces serenity.  Richard provided many examples including the Big Brother and the Holding Company (Uranus/Aquarian) electric guitar lead in to Janis Joplin’s deep and intense (Scorpio) singing.

What I found so interesting is that the 1970’s marked the highpoint of the Scorpio energy within the Aquarian age (the Scorpio sub-age of Aquarius to be technically correct).   Scorpio introduces the rhythmic sexual intensity of rock-and-roll and Aquarius contributes the electric guitar.  This fusion of Scorpio with Aquarius that was at a highpoint in the 1960’s and 70s defined the rock and counterculture revolution of the time.  This is the time that urban myths refer to as the beginning of the Age of Aquarius, and some people actually think these two decades were the Age of Aquarius, not realising that ages last some 2150 years.

There is one very good reason why people mistake the 60s and 70s for the start of the Aquarian age.  Certainly these two decades were exciting, revolutionary and confrontational to mainstream society.  Some archetypes are associated with only one sign, but many archetypes are associated with two or more signs.  For example airplanes are associated with both Aquarius (flight) and Sagittarius (long distanced travel).  Revolution is associated with both Aquarius and Scorpio.  It is easy to see that when Scorpio arrived at its high energy point in the 60s and 70s (at the end of the Scorpio sub-age) that is located within the Aquarian age, revolution was the winning archetype.

This revolution was not limited to music.  There was also the Sexual Revolution (sex is ruled by Scorpio).  Unfortunately there were also a lot of assassinations (President Kennedy, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King etc) as Scorpio rules death.  In addition Scorpio also rules excrement, and the excrement of the world is pollution.  Ever since Scorpio attained its height in the 60s and 70s, the effects from the scourge of pollution, that has been silently and relentlessly contaminating the atmosphere, oceans and soil, can no longer be ignored.   Scorpio also rules evolution and metamorphosis – and right on cue arrived born-again Christians.

The list of Scorpio archetypes is much greater than I have mentioned above (i.e. atomic bombs, nuclear energy and minimalism are also associated with Scorpio) but you should recognise the general drift. The impact of the strong influence from Scorpio upon the world within the Aquarian age should extend to the middle of the 21^st century.  So while the world waits with expectation for the Aquarian age (that actually arrived many centuries ago) the real issue at our neck of the woods in the unfolding of world history is actually Scorpio.

The good and bad news related to Scorpio is that the world is again heading for another Scorpio hotspot, releasing once again much of the stored up revolutionary fervour of the 60s and 70s.  This little Scorpio hotspot in the new episode will only have about a five years moment of glory between 2009 or 2010 and 2015 but nevertheless we should see the first serious crack in the conservative wall that politicians have created since the 60s and 70s. 

On the music level, it should start some serious rock-and-roll again.  This Scorpio hotspot is resonating with the energy of the Scorpio sub-age.  Whatever Scorpio does, it must do in harmony with Aquarius, as the age over rules a sub-age in authority.  A key archetype of Aquarius is excitement.  When hippies dreamed of the paradisiacal Age of Aquarius expecting love, cosmic harmony and a lift in consciousness little did they realise that these attributes have nothing to do with Aquarius – but a lot to do with Libra (love) and Pisces (dreams, paradise, cosmic harmony). Aquarius is technology, electricity, flight, freedom, democracy, fascism, dictators, mental illness (thus the need for anti-depressants) and especially excitement.  It is always exciting in the Age of Aquarius.

You can feel the excitement of the Age of Aquarius when it arrived many centuries ago.  Leonardo da Vinci was so excited about his scientific speculations that he wrote with both hands simultaneously.  Copernicus, Galileo and Kepler made astonishing discoveries in astronomy – dispelling the notion of a flat earth for example. The printing press was invented and people became stimulated by a rush of new ideas and concepts – all very exciting and many historians believe this explosion of new ideas promoted the rise of democracy.  Michelangelo stunned the world with his art.  Sailors discovered the Americas and untold number of countries, islands and cultures as they intrepidly explored the far reaches of the world.  Scientist discovered logic and set in train the modern Scientific Revolution.  Democracy reared its head in the USA and went forth and multiplied.  Charles Darwin unlocked the secret of evolution.  Computers were invented, the internet developed.  The world has never seen previously this level of excitement (to our knowledge) – why, because Aquarius is synonymous with excitement.

We live in exciting times, not perfect times.  There is nothing in the traditional associations of Aquarius that suggest that the Aquarian age is the Age of Perfection or the Age of Love. The urban myths of the Aquarian age are a fantasy – there is no Garden of Eden in the Aquarian age – it is the Age of Excitement.  Unfortunately the followers of Hitler were incredibly excited by his promise of a thousand years of Nazi domination in the Third Reich. 

Why do tyrants and dictators come under the wing of Aquarius, the sign of democracy?  Tyrants and dictators are so inspired or excited by their own absolutely true insights that they have no qualms about forcing these on the less realised.  Aquarius rules mental stimulation.  Dictators like Hitler were mentally stimulated.  The German people even said they were `electrified’ by Hitler’s speeches (electricity is also ruled by Aquarius).  Charles Manson is another classic example on the wrong side of Aquarius – all signs have their dark side!.

While the urban myths of the Aquarian age perceive a paradise, it cannot be based upon the astrological ages as there is no perfect sign in astrology.  The closest thing to perfection is the sign Virgo, but even here it is a two-edged sword.  The archetypes of purity, virginity and perfection align themselves to Virgo, but if you don’t measure up to Virgo’s high standards you will be severely criticised – compassion is thin on the ground near Virgo.  If being hen-pecked is your idea of perfection then you should have delayed your birth until the Age of Virgo.

Perfection, the Garden of Eden, everyone behaving like mahatmas, universal love and so on will not arrive in the Age of Aquarius, and if they did the situation would be short-lived.  Why?  Because other strong archetypes associated with Aquarius are inconsistency – and sudden and unexpected changes.  The Aquarian lightening flash of inspiration brings excitement, but can suddenly and unexpectantly pull the rug out from under you before you know it!  Aquarius works both ways.

Therefore in the Aquarian age, take whatever excitement you can, as there is no guarantee it will last.  If it is not some dictator or conservative politician it will be some religious figure or fanatical group that will do their best to dampen the excitement.  Notice recently the Pope wants to add another seven sins to the list.  Obviously things are getting far too exciting!  Notice that it is still not a sin to get drunk but the new sins comes down heavy on other intoxicants.  While many people will behave like some kind of school principal and try to force you to recant your exciting lifestyle, remember that this is the Age of Aquarius and the Aquarian age rocks!  This is the time to thumb your noses at authority – a little Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix or John Lennon may remind you of this Aquarian reality with a strong Scorpio flavour.

On this date in 1968 Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. An agonizing event that drove many to outrage, many to violence, many to despair, and still many others to grief and fear.

Then Democratic presidential hopeful Senator Robert F Kennedy (D-NY), addressed a crowd in Indianapolis, who had not yet heard the news of King’s assassination. Kennedy in a speech that was not written beforehand gave a speech from the heart, a poetic statement that struck a cord and moved those who heard, as all that was once tall and promising felt like it had been reduced to ashes. Its too bad that both Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were so cruelly gunned down and seized from us, depriving us of both these men’s talents, vision, spirit, and so much more.

Also on this date a year before his death, Martin Luther King gave a public speech condemning the U.S War in Vietnam. We need men like these two today. May they both rest in peace.
