Темата, до която искам да стигна, и до която реших да подходя от километри разстояние е за едно ново изобретение. Това “ново” изобретение е свещта. По-важен е обаче начина, по който е решил да я използва един Linux ентусиаст – като джойстик. Той е взел в ръце своя мини лаптоп – EEE PC 1000h и е написал игра, наречена “Светулка”. Нейната цел е да “осветявате” пътя на светулка, която е изгубила своята светлина, през пещери и пътища със запалена свещ пред дисплея на нетбука (посредством уеб камера). Човекът, написал играта (sosker) описва мотивацията си по следния начин – “Идеята на играта е да покаже, че можем да използваме средновековни средства, за да контролираме една видеоигра, които струват около 35636575 пъти по-евтино от “Weemote”.

In Italy, they are now taking pre-orders of Asus Eee PC’s (1005HA, 1008HA, 1101HA) with Windows 7 pre-installed. Fortunately, the HDDs are also a bit larger now that they have Windows 7 on it – 250GB for everyone. Check out the pre-orders for the 1005HA here, 1008HA here, and the 1101HA here.

This new model has just been spotted in Europe and it’s called the Asus Eee PC 1001HA which is a pretty new model with nothing too interesting inside. It has a 10.1-inch display an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU, and is basically the 1005HA netbook in a different exterior – according to Netbooked. This netbook is expected to start shipping on September 23 for €250 ($368 USD) to €300 ($442 USD) with Windows XP, Linux or no OS.

I’m sure you’re keeping a close eye on the HP Mini 311 netbook with Nvidia Ion graphics. Well, the good news is that it could be available by the end of this month. It’s expected to start shipping on September 23rd – just 3 days away – for $399 USD. It’s just a rumour, so it could be debunked shortly. It looks like Asus could be announcing their first laptop with Nvidia’s Ion graphics. If you check out this online Chinese retailer though, the Asus Eee PC 1201N netbook looks like it will have the power of Ion. This netbook was a part of Asus’ leaked roadmap, so the netbook is likely real. Other specs include: a 12-inch display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, an Ethernet / VGA port, audio jacks, and a 6-cell (5,200 mAh) battery.

We don’t know when it will be available, but it’s likely we’ll see this netbook with Windows 7 on-board, which means at least another month. The product picture could be real, but it could be an existing 1101HA netbook, so just keep that in mind.

Like the Eee PC 1201N another netbook looks to be on the way. This one appears to be a variation of the Eee PC T91 netbook / tablet. The Eee PC T91MT will be sporting a multi-touchscreen display and will likely be available in late October / early November with Windows 7 pre-installed.

According to Intel’s Open Source Technology director, Imad Sousou, we could see a netbook running Moblin v2 as early as this month at IDF 2009. We don’t know when this is going to be released, but if version 2 is on the way then why not just wait for it.

In related news, Asus will be launching an Eee PC with Moblin next month (October).

The Asus Eee PC 1005HAG is set to launch in Japan very soon. The 1005HAG is going to launch on September 19th – which is just 3 days away – and it will have 3G connectivity to accompany your 10.1-inch display. It’ll be launching for 52,800 yen ($584 USD) which is around $50 more than without the integrated 3G.

The rumour proved to be true, Asus have just confirmed that their Eee Keyboard PC will be available next month (October) in North America and Europe. The price hasn’t been mentioned yet, but we’ve heard it’ll be in the $400 to $500 price range. In case you’re interested – because you should be – the Asus Eee Keyboard PC has: a 5-inch touchscreen display, an Intel Atom 1.6GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 16GB / 32GB SSD, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth support, HDMI output, and wireless UWB HDMI. The OS hasn’t been completely confirmed, so we could see Windows 7 as well an Moblin on here.

Yes, the Asus Eee PC 1101HA netbook is already available basically everywhere, but now we’re hearing that Asus could be re-launching the 1101HA netbook with Windows 7 pre-installed. This is great news for those people. However, we may only see Windows 7 Basic – don’t quote me on this – on this netbook.

Finally! The long-awaited Asus Eee Keyboard PC has just been spotted at the FCC, so it looks like that October launch is looking pretty solid right now. “Interestingly, the test reports indicate the presence of a UWB radio in addition WiFi and Bluetooth, so it looks like we’ll see the planned wireless HDMI model even after the specs pretty much hit the skids earlier this summer.” Any other details are still unknown, but if you’re looking for the wireless HDMI model you better start praying.

Before Amazon’s Kindle, e-book readers were dead – or so I thought. With the recent popularity of e-book readers, both Asus and MSI plan to enter the market with their own offering. According to DigiTimes, Asus’ e-book reader will be under their Eee brand – Eee Book, I guess? MSI also plans to release their own e-book reader, but there are no details on that device yet.

The Asus Eee PC 1000H Go that we heard about back in early June is now available in France via Orange – check out Orange’s official website here for the netbook. It’s the exact same thing as the 1005HA except it has integrated 3G connectivity. In case you forgot, the 1005H Go has: a 10.2-inch display with a 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom 1.66GHz N280 CPU, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB HDD. Orange is reportedly now selling it for €399 ($571 USD), but it’s cheaper if you sign up for a contract. The battery is said to last 10 hours with 3G off and 7 hours with 3G on.

You can check out all three of these all-in-one PCs on Asus’ official website now. The ET2002T on Asus’ website here is an all-in-one PC that has: a 20-inch display with a 1,600 x 900 resolution, a Dual-Core Atom 330 CPU, the Nvidia Ion chipset, 2GB of RAM, up to a 320GB HDD, a DVD burner, an integrated webcam, gigabit Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 n, and it runs Windows Vista Home Premium, but it’s upgradeable to Windows 7. Unfortunately, the price and release date are still unknown.

The other two models on Asus’ official website is the ET2203 and the ET2203T. They have: a 22-inch display, 2GB of RAM, a larger HDD, ATI Radeon HD 4570 graphics, a Blu-ray drive, an Intel Core 2 Duo T4300 / T6400 CPU, and an HDMI input. The ET2203T has a touchscreen display, the ET2203 doesn’t. We don’t know when these will be available either. Check out the ET2203 and ET2203T on Asus’ website here and here, respectively.

The Asus Eee PC 1005HA is a netbook that launched in black, white, blue, and pink. Just in case you don’t like any of these colours, I should inform you that a silver colour will be launching in Japan next month. The best part is that it is trading the plastic with a metal lid. You can head over to Kakaku to check out the silver model. It is going to launch for ¥47,700 yen ($509 USD), but we don’t know if the US will get their hands on this netbook colour.

Asus has just mentioned that they are looking to launch three new products this Fall. This includes the Nvidia Ion-based Eee Box nettop, the Eee Top all-in-one PC ET2002T, and the long-awaited Eee keyboard PC. The details on the nettop are still unknown at the time, but it should launch for around $300 USD, so we should probably find an Intel Atom CPU inside. The 20-inch Eee Top PC will be launching for around $670 and the Eee keyboard PC will launch for somewhere between $400 and $500.

Asus has just announced its latest all-in-one PC, the Eee Top ET2002T. The ET2002T has: a 20-inch display with a 1,600 x 900 resolution, an Intel Dual-Core Atom 330 CPU, 2GB of RAM, Nvidia Ion graphics, a 250GB HDD, a DVD bruner, and an HDMI input. It will be available in Europe over the next couple of weeks for €598 ($846 USD).

According to the latest rumour, Asus is working on shipping their first Eee PC running the Moblin OS this October. Afterwards, Asus is looking to make the Moblin Linux OS an option for all of their notebooks – if the launch goes smoothly. What’s also interesting is that Asus is reportedly working “closely together” with Google to launch the Chrome OS on one of their netbooks in the “not-too-distant future.” I’m excited!

ASUS Eee PC 1000H -Egy klasszikus netbook
Az Asus Eee PC 1000H az egyik legjobban ismert és legnépszerűbb netbook márka. Ennek első számú oka természetesen alacsony ára. Emellett viszont éppen az alacsony ár és a viszonlyag igénytelen külső ellenére éppenséggel igenis nagy erő lakozik ebben a kis gépben, így nem csak egy szimpla otthoni WindowsXP-vel, de akár a Professional, vagy a Windows Vistával is próbálkozhatunk, mert a jelek szerint lazán elfut rajta, és még az akkumulátor működés is egészen kielégítő.

Acer Aspire One D250 netbook
Egy szuper-olcsó mini Acer laptop, amitől ne várjunk el többet, mint böngészést a neten, szövegszerkesztést és esetleg egy flash játék futtatását, zenehallgatást. Ez utóbbi inkább fülhallgatóval ajánlott: a hangszóró elég gyengécske, ráadásul az aksi se bírja túl sokáig. Olcsóbb mobil számítógépet azonban nehezen találhatunk.
