Zilele acestea am invatat ceva extrem de pretios. Niciodata, dar niciodata sa nu renuntam la comunicare. Prin comunicare putem rezolva multe conflicte minore sau majore. Dar in fine…

Cred ca majoritatea dintre voi cautati o iubire care sa completeze practic tot ceea ce aveti voi. Sa va completeze caracterul, sufletul, inima….golurile. Majoritatea dintre noi tratam lucrurile acestea cu superficialitate. Sentimentele, iubirea si toate cuvintele le aruncam in goana dupa vant. Ne este simplu sa-i spunem unei persoane ca tinem la ea, ca ne-am atasat de ea si poate daca o data persoana in cauza are nevoie de un timp al ei, un timp in care sa reflecteze…sa dispara totul ca prin minune. Iti spun un secret!  NICIODATA nu te-ai atasat cu adevarat de acea persoana, NICIODATA nu ai tinut la ea. Stii de ce? Pentru ca NICIODATA nu se renunta asa usor. Vrei ceva? Lupta. Lupta cu adevarat pentru asta. Lupta sa-ti indeplinesti telurile, lupta sa castigi ceea ce vrei sa fie al tau. Lupta, chiar daca ar fi ultimul lucru pe care il faci.    Stiu ca gresim enorm cu totii. Suntem oameni. Dar sa fim sinceri. Nu se mai poate numi greseala atunci cand abandonezi totul deoarece nu iti pica din cer. Viata este un drum plin de obstacole, pe care multi se impiedica.  Ne este atat de simplu sa-i spunem unei persoane ca “te iubesc” doar pentru a nu o pierde poate. Asa de senini am devenit in a da sentimente cu “kilogramul” si apoi sa plecam. Este o arta sa stii sa ramai alaturi de persoana care poate te-a amanat ca a avut motivele ei.  Chiar si intr-o prietenie de acelasi sex. Suntem atat de superficiali. Ne-am obisnuit ca toata lumea sa joace asa cum vrem noi iar daca nu…taiem. Daca in sentimentele pe care ni le purtam reciproc, poate au interevenit la momentul acela si cateva sentimente contradictorii…suntem hotarati sa inabusim acele sentimente nobile doar pentru ca un alt sentiment nu asa nobil si-a facut aparitia. Suntem niste lasi! Nu mai vrem sa luptam. Sufletul nostru este ca o armata care isi omoara proprii raniti. Adica…propriile sentimente.    Stiu, in zilele acestea a devenit din ce in ce mai usor sa spui “te iubesc”. Am inteles. Dar….doar atat?  Dovezile unde sunt? Suntem noi dispusi sa luptam pe viata si pe moarte pentru persoana iubita?  Cautam zadarnic iubirea daca nu suntem dispusi sa ne sacrificam. Pe tema iubirii vorbele-s sumare. Si totusi…. În fire nu sunt expresii a-l destăinui, oricâte muze vor da tălmăcire, nimeni n-ar înţelege ce-i ” iubirea ”. De învăţaţi ce-nseamnă ” a iubi ” ,aveţi şi drept deplin la fericire. NICIODATA sa nu spunem despre sentimente pe care nu le simtim. Niciodata nu starni, nu trezi dragostea pana nu vine ea. Intotdeauna cand am dat floarea prieteniei am dat-o din toata inima si nu de putine ori am fost talharita si am ramas cu durere, un gol de necuprins si dezamagirea ca niciodata n-o sa gasesti pe cineva sincer care sa dea si sa primeasca si punct.                   Atunci cand ajungi la punctul in care fericirea, siguranta si dezvoltarea celuilalt constitue pentru tine o forta care se indentifica cu propria ta fericire, siguranta si dezvoltare, atunci esti in posesia unei iubiri mature.    In concluzie, cine te iubeste … te cauta, cine te vrea … iti spune, cui ii este dor de tine … te suna, cine nu … nu! ESTE SIMPLU.      Sa spunem “Te iubesc” dar…NU doar atat! Sa FACEM “Te iubesc”,

Welcome to the Class of 2009!

Sometime in late March, I made my way to UP Diliman to try and catch the thesis exhibit of this year’s batch of Studio Arts graduates.  Unfortunately, I got there the day before graduation ceremonies, the day maintenance men moved in to take down what had not been taken home.  So when I received Dawn Atienza’s invitation to view this show, a reprise by ten selected artists of their thesis exhibit pieces, I told myself that I  had better not miss it this time.

Those who bemoan the dearth of conceptual art shown in Manila’s commercial galleries will certainly have no cause to complain here.  Goldie Poblador’s interactive installation of

Goldie Poblador and "Collected Memories and Ephemeral Representations"

bottled scents of the city blew me away!  In Collected Memories and Ephemeral Representations, she captures the aroma of life, from pleasant bouquets of Baguio summers, to the odors of gas fumes of an EDSA weekday, to the stench of sweat and decay of a hand-to-mouth slum existence.  She undertook a course in perfume making and bottled her liquid essences in elaborate glass vials she designed herself. She houses each vessel in a vitrine, similar to how they would be displayed in a cosmetics counter at, say, a store like Bergdorf Goodman or Saks Fifth Avenue.

I so enjoyed Lee Paje’s video installation Sit In My Retina that I had to take home a DVD to watch it again.  Lee takes us with her on a typical day, and from the moment she awakes until the time she sleeps, we literally see things from her point of view.  She manipulates her images to simulate how her eyes blink and we feel that more than just voyeurs, we actually experience what she does, including some bodily functions we’d rather not be privy

to!  Perhaps this concept has been done before, but that does not detract from appreciating Lee’s efforts.

Another interactive piece that I would rank high up there on the aliw factor is Kathleen Beredo’s Color Rain. How fun to walk through a corridor of brightly-hued glow sticks strung from the ceiling!  It reminded me of a special I saw on CNN once about a German girl with such a highly developed sense of hearing that she can picture sounds in color.  She described walking during a Spring shower as similar to walking through a rainbow.  The same feeling you get as you go through Kathleen’s installation.

I thought that Adeo Sta. Juana constructed his freestanding colored sculpture, I’mpossible, by cutting and shaping paper as they look so light.  He actually worked with rubber, demonstrating the flexibility of this medium.  Carlo Aranton installed his wire sculpture Ens at the gallery’s ceiling, so simple yet so interesting.

Liv Romualdez Vinluan has already made waves because of the demand for her paintings even before she obtained her fine arts degree.  In fact, the piece shown

here is not the same as her actual thesis piece, that one already finding its way into a collector’s trove of treasures.  Somehow, I still believe that artists should go through some period of starvation to serve as impetus for their art.  Or maybe that is such a romantic, old fashioned adage in these days of a (still!) booming art market.  Who am I to question the law of supply and demand? Or the appetites of insatiable art buffs?

All in all, the show delivers a delightful, refreshing experience.  What will these young artists make of this promising beginning?  Only time will tell.

El: Tu ai fost vreodata fericita?

Ea: Hmm… intrebarea asta nu prea imi e pusa.

El: Dar tu  te intrebi lucrul asta?

Ea: Inca o data te intreb: ce inseamna fericirea?

El: Primul lucru pe care trebuie sa-l intelegem ca sa fim fericiti este  ca fericirea nu este o stare perpetua, fericirea nu poate dura la infinit… Fericirea poate sa tina chiar si o singura clipa in viata. Daca am intelege asta, noi oamenii am fi mai bucurosi.

Ea: De ce?

El: Fiindca pur si simplu ne-am implinit scopul.

Ea: Crezi tu? Si daca ne-am implinit scopul, atunci de ce continuam sa traim?

El: Asa… Fiindca sunt multe lucruri pe care trebuie sa le vedem, sa le traim…

Ea: Oare acesta e scopul? Nu-si construieste oare fiecare scopul sau asa cum vrea?

El: Nu stiu! Doar ca… fericirea e acea clipa, si cand spun clipa poate sa fie si o secunda sau chiar o ora, sau o saptamana, dar fericirea e acel moment din viata in care simti nu ca ai totul, dar ca ai tot ce conteaza pentru tine. Este momentul acela cand nu-ti lipseste nimic, atunci cand simti ca pentru o clipa te poti aseza sa te linistesti si n-o sa pierzi nimic. Si nu, nu trebuie sa dureze la nesfarsit.

Ea: Doar o dimineata… O dimineata am fost fericita.

El:  O dimineata este de ajuns, acum o sa porti dimineata aceea cu tine mereu in amintirile tale. Si cand o sa-ti fie greu, aminteste-ti! Aminteste-ti cum era, cum ai fost o data… Atunci o sa fii din nou, nu stiu daca fericita, dar macar o sa-ti fie mai usor.

Ea: Si dimineata aceea e de ajuns pentru toata viata?
El: O dimineata, doar atat … atat e nevoie, si daca ai avut sau o sa ai acea dimineata atunci vor mai fi si altele, fiindca acum stii cum a fost.

After you have clicked thou “Go There!” sign, ye be taken to theith Underground. Thou ye start mission there.

Clickith thy “Instructions” sign. Ye shalt be given what to do.

After ye have learned all thy aspects to thou challenge, start thy journey by heading into thou cave.

You shalt start at Challenge 1, follow thy lead.

Theith thy cheats to light up all thy orbs:

At thy very middle, step on thy stone pad to unleash thou light of thy orb.

Next, ye go to thy right top corner of thy screen. You shalt find another stone pad for thy next orb to light up.

Next, ye shalt go to thy 3rd stone pad in thou left top corner. Watch out! Thy there beith a cage that will block ye path. Wait for thy cage to go down, then ye waddle as fast as ye can!

Nowith, you shalt cross thy bridge in order to step on thy 4th stone pad.

Now thy to step on next stone pad, maneuver around thy rocks to get to thyith pad. You nowith lighted all thy orbs. Prepare for thou next challenge!

Enter thy entrance to cave.

Before thy startith challenge, you shalt get ye first free item, a golden shield.

Thyith click “Yes” to confirm ye choice.

Now ye may continue thy journey. You shalt hit 50 targets inith thy order to enter thou last challenge.

Ye counter is in thy down right corner of thy screen. Thy counter willith show ye how man more targets ye must hit:

Ye must hit thy targets, as well as ye knightmates, to finish thyith ye targets.

Throwith like thou knight and theith finish off thy targets.

Thenith ye enter next challenge, which will be complicated to ye figure out.

Thy again, is thou another free item. Stopith to pick up ye item! It’s thy Golden Mask.

It’s thy good thing I saw the hints back at thou other challenges. They were hidden for ye to help you figure out Challenge 3. Here are thy hints:

Fish=Up, ↑

Crab=Right, →

Jellyfish=Left, ←

Boot=Down, ↓

Now thy know thy hints to complete ye Challenge 3, ye on yer way to being CP’s bravest nights. Remember thy message that thy put? Here, I’ve translated the directions:

The directions are:

Down, Left, Down, Right, Right, Up

If thy get lost, don’t worry. Go thy random direction. Ye will be taken to thy Lost Path, given a helpful hint, and ye be directed back into start. Hereith thy another tip. If ye fail to get to thou finish in 3 turns, follow thy glowing arrows. They shalt lead you toith last page of yer journey!

Once you have come to the last stage of thy path, ye have come to thy ending! Congratulations! Pick up thy last piece of armor to end ye journey! And goith back home to ye penguins!

You have become a noble warrior of CP, enjoy your armor! You can show it off to your knight friends! You are now a Golden Warrior!

If you’re going to see Rockhopper in Orlando, Florida on April 30th, he will be located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This is very exciting, and the first time a Club Penguin character goes live in Disney!
