I Am Evangeline

So I have an internship yay!!!
An amazing opportunity that I am so grateful for, working in the art department for a feature film named ‘I am Evangeline’.
An Australian sci-fi drama about a clone, desperate for a cure for her ‘sleeping sickness’ that all clones must constantly endure. She is on a search for her original, a search to become human.
The film is funded by crowd sourcing website pozible, it relies on pledges from the public for the budget! http://www.pozible.com/project/18679
As I’m additionally in charge of the twitter account for the film I’m discovering just how important social media is in creating hype and spreading the word.
I wish I knew exactly how to generate maximum exposure through the hashtag but I think that’s further explored in Integrated Media next semester

I’m also on the look out for sourcing props needed to dress the sets which is very exciting. Considering I’m a hoarder by nature and a magpie at op shops and markets I think this job will be quite easy.

The only obstacle I’m yet to overcome is proper printing on photographic paper at office works,
but I will conquer!

Please spread the word about I am Evangeline. Australian media content is not where it should be. We are a talented nation and Melbourne is especially rich in culture and creativity and we need more of our ideas and talent on screen!

Gyroscope "what do i know about pain"

This perth band Gyroscope are amazing! I’ve always loved Gyroscope – their first album Sound Shattering Sound is still one of my all time favs. I remember the first time i saw them live was at Homeback 2004 (my most loved Homebake line up to date) and i just adored.

I’ve been doing a stack of driving lately, and everytime i hear this song, i get happy. It’s been stuck in my head for weeks- so i better post it out so you can all get the Gyroscope infection!

Washington's Album

Megan Washington is by far some of the BEST Australian talent to hit the our little ears. With a voice so phenomenal, this tiny poppet is very much destined to do great GIANT things! She makes singing look like a sport of gods and looking like a nerd something babeliciously rock n roll.

I was lucky enough to attend her album launch as well as her first two shows of her tour- which by the way has completely sold out (she sold out the Melbourne’s The Corner FIVE TIMES!). I advise befriended or de-friending to get your hands on tickets!!! Her poetic lyrics vine from her infectious tunes, making you want to dance, drink whiskey, love or even weep. From her classic song of “How to Tame Lions” and “Clementine” to her ridiculously trendy “Rich Kids” and “Sunday Best”, you can’t help but fall in love with her as she wavers her hands and holds her heart as she sings. Also her wicked sense of humour comes in handy between songs. Plus, her cover of The Divinyls “i touch myself” could easily make Chrissy Amphlett envious!

If you get a hold of tickets, go! If you haven’t heard her ablum, buy it. And if you see in the street, just Hi-5 her. This is an Aussie muso that we should be VERY proud of. She’s got talent in her soul and music in heart- love love love
