Here at Enfig Car Stereo we answer the same questions every day so I figured that if I made this guide it would clarify most of the questions and let us get back onto VWVortex.com. We specialize in Volkswagen & Audi. We also carry all the relevant iPod interfaces on the market and have been selling Auxiliary AUX interfaces for over 10 years since they were just used for people who wanted a direct audio input for their in-car TV’s. All the cars above have the same audio systems. There are three different types of radios as far as Auxiliary Aux audio input adapters are concerned. Non Satellite ready, satellite ready and the Navigation radio. All of these radios have an external CD changer port that is tricked into thinking that there is an external CD changer attached so that the audio port is activated and opened to allow the transfer of audio from your audio source to your radio. When I say audio source I mean whatever you are getting audio from. examples: MP3 player, Portable DVD player, laptop, Satellite radio, etc. NONE OF THESE INTERFACES WILL DISABLE YOUR IN DASH CD CHANGER OR CD PLAYER.

Radio Removal
Lets start with how to take out the radio. The following link will take you to a page that will show you how to take out the radio and install an old Dension interface. Connection Locations
There are 2 places to connect your interface. To the CD changer port behind the radio or to the black CD changer port in the center console between the seats. All cars have the connection behind the radio. Usually only the cars with factory installed navigation radios have the connection between the seats because all cars equipped with a navigation radio also come equipped with a CD changer in that location. If you do not have a CD changer between the seats it doesn’t hurt to check but unless someone swapped the navigation radio out of your car before you purchased it you will not have the black connection between the seats.

Factory Satellite Radio
If you have factory XM or Sirius satellite radio it will be plugged into the CD changer port. If you don’t plan on using the XM or Sirius satellite radio you can just unplug it and disable it. If you plan on using the factory XM or Sirius satellite radio there are 2 options. You can take apart the connector and move pins around or for $9.99 (on sale)we have designed a complete plug and play splitter. We recommend the splitter because the pins are small and fragile therefore can easily be damaged if you have never removed one before. If you have the navigation radio with the black CD changer connection between the seats the splitter is built into the car so as long as you connect it at the black plug between the seats the satellite radio will not be disturbed.

Ipod
If you have an iPod there are interfaces that will give you an iPod specific input as well as a universal AUX Auxiliary input. Internet radio: Some iPods like the touch & iPhone are capable of internet radio like AOL radio & Pandora. All of the iPod adapters below will allow you to play the audio through your factory radio. Non offer any control of internet radio besides volume.

Charging
All the interfaces below with the exception of the generic auxiliary aux audio input charge the iPod the new 5V USB charging that is required for the 4th Gen nano, Touch 2nd Gen, iPhone 3G & iPhone 3Gs as well as charging older iPods as well.

AUX
The first time of iPod adapter we will talk about is actually not an iPod adapter. It is the universal Auxiliary AUX adapter. Before you jump on this adapter let me remind you that we also carry iPod adapters that not only have an iPod specific cable but also have a secondary Auxiliary Aux input via 3.5mm jack or RCA input for all other devices that are not iPods. Since there are a few different brands I am going to discuss them on a separate page. INSERT LINK HERE

BlitzSafe
BlitzSafe is the entry level iPod adapter. It works through the external CD changer port. The radio displays disc 1 track 99. The iPod is charged while the radio is on and for 20 minutes after you turn off the ignition. The only control from the radio and steering wheel controls is volume. The iPod controls are never locked. The Satellite splitter is built into the behind the radio interface. Notes: Does not work with 4th generation Nano, Does not work with the Non US RCD 500 radio.

Grom
Grom adds control from the radio and steering wheel controls. On disc 1 the iPod controls are unlocked and you have track up & track down controls from the radio and steering wheel. Disc 2 is your second, disc 3 is your third , disc 4 is your fourth , disc 5 is your fifth, disc 6 is your sixth playlist on your iPod in alphabetical order. On disc 2-6 the controls on the iPod are locked but the you still have track up & track down controls from the radio and steering wheel controls.

USA Spec
USA Spec adds a secondary Auxiliary Aux audio input via a left and right RCA plugs on the side of the unit. Disc 1 is your first, disc 2 is your second, disc 3 is your third playlist on your iPod in alphabetical order. Disc 4 is all the songs on your iPod in one playlist. On disc 1-4 the controls on the iPod are locked but you still have track up & track down controls from the radio and steering wheel controls. Disc 5 unlocks the iPod controls and you have track up & track down controls from the radio and steering wheel. Disc 6 is the Auxiliary Aux audio input.

USA Spec currently does not have a unit that uses the connector in the center console.

Dice Electronics

The dice i-VWR/i-VW-T unit never locks the controls on the iPod. Disc 1 activates track up/track down. Disc 2 activates playlist up/playlist down, once you find the playlist you are looking for you go back to disc 1 to go up and down the songs on the selected playlist. Since the controls on the iPod are never locked you can always keep it on disc 1 and select your music (like a genre) from the iPod controls and the go track up and down from the radio or steering wheel controls. The Auxiliary Aux audio input is controlled by disc 5 track one is iPod track 2 is Aux. When you are in the aux mode discs 1-4 act like EQ & volume for the aux. Its a nice feature since some of these external units have low audio levels. Dice also advertises artist and album controls on disc 3-4 but we think they function poorly and think you should ignore them.

Dension

Dension makes the GW16vc1. The GW16VC1 will show text on the MFD (Multi Function Display) in the speedometer as long as you do not have the navigation radio and have the MFD.

GW16VC1 DOES NOT WORK IF YOU “DO” HAVE THE NAVIGATION RADIO OR IF YOU DO “NOT” HAVE THE MFD (Multi Function Display)

The GW16VC1 is the best interface available for your car. It will show all the information your iPod does on the MFD while the iPod controls are locked in GW mode. In UI mode the iPod controls are unlocked but you get no iPod text on the MFD. But you do get playlist up/Down on disc 1 & song up/Down on disc 5. Then there is the AUX mode that gives you auxiliary Aux audio input via a female 3.5 mm headphone hack on the Dension Unit.

iPod Mounting
Now that we have the iPod adapters out of the way. Some of you may want to keep your iPod mounted inside of the cabin instead of inside the glove box. There are several ways to do this.

2Point5 Spec Dock VWMKVV2I is my favorite. It replaces your front cup holder and turns it into a iPod dock. Very good especially if you have an iPhone. We also give you a $20 credit for your iPod cable if you order an adapter at the same time. Since Dension units are sold without the iPod cable the $20 credit does not apply to Dension interfaces.

We have many different iPod holders depending on your need. Some are just holders that do not incorporate the iPod cable. Then there are what we call cradles that hold the iPod cable in the holder so it does not get run over by the seat track or get wet on the floor. Flotilla Commander Jack Nickerson said that the event was a show of appreciation for the volunteer members of the flotilla, who help protect the public by providing free inspections and boater education classes.

The new, old face of music television?

Having read a bit about Toronto’s newest music station, I took some holiday free time today to stop by channel 107, Aux Tv.

Billing itself as essentially the anti-MTV, Aux basically tries to emulate the formula made famous by… uh, MTV. But like, late 80’s to early 90’s MTV, when it was all about the music man. Totally.

Unlike the MTV we’ve known since the mid 90’s (Post-The Real World, a culturally iconic franchise which helped turn the voice of a generation into the sales pitch of a generation), early MTV was categorically edgy and young. And by edgy, I mean badly produced. And by young, I mean stupid.

By bringing back that Wayne’s World aesthetic however, Aux TV is attempting to capitalize on those who long for the glory days of what music television used to mean — eating bags of cheetos and checking out videos for an entire day. Not deciding whether you should skip Laguna Beach or judging celebrity outfits on TRL.

Aux goes one step further by angling itself not just as the home for music, but the home for new music. Naturally. Boasting vignettes and features of several Canadian indie-darlings (Ohbijou, Rural Alberta Advantage, Apostle of Hustle, Thunderheist et al) and a weekly talk show by Walking New Music Encyclopedia Alan Cross, there is definitely potential for interesting programming.

More importantly, there is almost certainly a niche for this type of TV in a city as musically entrenched as Toronto; one that continually produces new, exciting talent seeking a venue on which to break through. The parallels between Aux and an early Much Music are noticeable, with genre specific shows such as Cypher (Rap City) and about four permutations of Spotlight.

Anyways, with such a demand (in my mind) for a station that plays exciting music and actual videos, the upcoming months should definitely be interesting for Aux. In terms of production, it’s pretty obvious the place is being held together with rough ideas, duct tape and an army of student interns.

Moreover, I watched for half an hour and the broadcasting breakdown went roughly like this:

Commercials for its own shows which have yet to premier: 20 minutes
A Honda commercial: 1 minute
Commercials for its own station… on its own station: 6 minutes
MSTRKRFT video: 3 minutes

Hopefully, not a sign of things to come.

Para uma definição melhor nesta entrada podemos conectar qualquer dispositivo de audio analogico, isto é, qualquer celular com saida de fone, mp3 player portatil, dvd portatil, etc. Sendo assim podemos apreciar o som destes equipamentos que normalmente é de uso com fones de ouvido em todo ambiente do carro, utilizando o som do carro como fonte amplificadora. A maioria dos aparelhos comprados hoje em dia já vem com essa entrada, mas os aparelhos antigos na sua maioria tambem pode ser realizada uma adaptação para receber este sinal. É essencial que voce tenha uma entrada deste tipo pois nunca se sabe quando sera necessaria, por fim tambem deve-se conhecer os tipos de conexões (plugs), temos o tipo P2 esse é um conector de fone de ouvido e o RCA composto de 2 plugs, direito e esquerdo, mais usados em entradas fixas, que nao seja necessario ficar tirando toda hora, tambem se pode fazer uma união desses tipos e deixar a ponta no porta luvas, caso precise, esta la ao alcance das maus.

THE LOCATIONS AND AREAS:

Flic En Flac is a great seaside destination with nothing better than a stroll along the beautiful tropical beach, one of the very best on the island, whilst enjoying a fruit cocktail – watch out for the red hot chilli sauce (optional extra,) or beach barbecue, or just marvelling at the exotic sega dancers with local musicians. The sunsets are absolutely stunning and the coral reef acts as a natural barrier for the calm waters of the blue lagoon.

Beautiful white, sandy, tropical beaches with coral lagoons, spectacular volcanic mountain scenery, tropical fauna and flora and an all-year-round sunny climate (annual temperatures varying from about 26 – 32 degrees C. ) make this an ideal location for just chilling out on the beach or under the filao trees, water sports, banana boat rides, scuba diving (training and qualifications available), snorkelling, fishing, boating, walking, horse riding, tennis, golf, enjoying the night life, sugar cane plantations, colonial history and great hospitality…the list seems endless and you’ll want to come back for more!

Grand Bay (Baie)

Grand Bay is a lively resort and a popular tourist destination situated on a picturesque horseshoe bay in the north of the island. A shopping and leisure paradise and the area where Mauritians head for when they want a fun-filled night out! All year round sun with temperatures varying from about 20-26 C March – November and 25 – 32 C December – February. The town is also the main departure point for trips by boat to the Northern Islands of Coin de Mire, Ile Plate and lot Gabriel. Local buses run between Port Louis (Capital) and Grand Bay every half hour during the day. Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens, near Port Louis is an unmissable day out. The gardens are one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius. Opened as a private garden by the French governor of Mauritius nearly 300 years ago, they served as a major horticultural research centre for the French and British during the colonial period. Today they are home to dozens of varieties of palm trees, as well as medicinal plants, fish ponds, and an amazing collection of Queen Victoria water lilies. Ile Au Cerf, a beautiful island located off the east coast of Mauritius, is also an easily reached from Grand Bay. The town was once a small fishing village but has now become the largest resort on the island.

Ocean Villa has the hottest location in Grand Baie, away from the crowd yet within easy reach. The private duplex beach bungalow (villa) is the ideal option for a group or family. The area is dotted with bars, restaurants and discotheques with beaches and water sports to enjoy. Grand Bay is the island’s main centre for yachting, water skiing, windsurfing and numerous other water sport activities including submarine trips. The beautiful La Cuvette beach offers diving, glass-bottomed boat trips and undersea walks. Boat trips to the Northern Islands of Coin de Mire, Ile Plate and Ilot Gabriel are available from here. South of Grand Bay, the northern coastline beyond Tombeau Bay has many delightful beaches including Trou aux Biches with its splendid Hindu Temple. Further up the coast is Mon Choisy, one of the most popular beaches on the island, which offers water sports activities such as windsurfing and water skiing.

Cap Malheureux Villa and Studio only 5 minutes drive along the coast is registered with the Mauritius Tourism Authority. The place and surroundings are really nice nestled in a luxurious green, where shrubs of hibiscus offer a wide variety of colours. Not to forget the coconut trees and the bougainvillea all around the place! A very exotic, serene and calm place. The ideal location to rest while also enjoying the vibrant attractions of nearby Grand Bay. You will love being there. It’s so resting and peaceful and the sea is of a gorgeous turquoise. One can sit for hours and just admire the whole view that with the majestic Coin de Mire island.

When you leave the apartment and cross the main road to the beach – at barely 2 minutes walk you will have fabulous views. Main activities around are boating, fishing and going on trips to the Coin de Mire island (see photograph.) For catamaran trips, undersea walking, scuba diving, parasailing, water ski, etc it’s 5 minute drive away in Grand Baie.
