you’ve gotta love when bands are doing home movie stuff to get more money out of their fans and they have to try to be funny. some bands are successful. avenged sevenfold was not.

I searched online for Myanmar metal stuff last night and found a forum. With great expectations, I clicked on the link.

What I found?

They were talking about… nu-metal??? Yes, nu-metal. Frigging hell mallcore stuff like Slipknot and Marilyn Manson. There were even people who mentioned Linkin Park and Flyleaf.

Seriously! There was nothing on it but mallcore. -.-

Next one was a blog. He was talking about Slipknot and how much he likes them and on another blog was an article on Myanmar metal scene and the author was talking about Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold and Trivium. Frigging Metalcore.

Why can’t they just get out of this whole mallcore thing??? Why won’t they step deeper into the depths? WHY?????

There were even some people who said,”Slipknot is Death Metal”. Ya, go die. It pisses me off when I hear people saying crap like that.

Mallcore, Nu-metal, Metalcore, BFMV, A7X, Marilyn Manson, BMTH, blah blah blah and it goes on and on and on in a never finishing mallcore whirlpool. This is what’s happening  in Myanmar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Metal albums aren’t that rare anymore. You can pretty much buy them here. (Last week I got Black Sabbath:The Dio Years and Megadeth’s Endgame.) Or you can download them via Mediafire or 4shared (which I usually do).

Still people are still drowning in the mallcore whirlpool… labeling themselves “metalheads” with Slipknot songs in their mp3 players.

It’s time to ditch out mallcore people! Ditch it out and explore into the depths of Metal!

Metal Hammer has written up 9 things they’d like to see on the new Avenged Sevenfold album. Which things do you guys agree with? Disagree with? What would you like to see!

1. Riff after riff after motherfucking riff – When an Avenged album rolls around, you’re guaranteed to be hit with an avalanche of riffs of the highest quality. Make no mistake about it, when the new A7X album surfaces in 2010, this wish will be satisfied and then some.

2. Dark concepts – It already sounds like we’re going to get this. We’d like to see Avenged dig a little deeper into their imaginative side. They’d be ace at giving us a gore-splattered song about a serial killer or murderous demon, wouldn’t they?

3. The return of the piano – We were listening to Waking The Fallen recently and it’s easy to forget how incredible ‘I Won’t See You Tonight Part 1′ is. Dark, gothic and epic without lacking balls, it remains Avenged’s finest ‘ballad’ moment. Can they top it this time around?

4. Keep up the solos – Every A7X album has had finger-blistering solos littered all over them. We want this new album to be no exception.

5. A big time producer – Would a big name producer be able to bring the best out of A7X? Would Bob Rock be able to rub some of that black album magic all over Avenged and make them globe-conquerors on the biggest scale of all?

6. No vocoder – We were big fans of the last Avenged Sevenfold album…except for the bit where M. Shadows sounds like he’s been bitten by the Robot Cher that sung on the most annoying song of all time. Leave the vocoder outside this time, guys.

7. The return of the beatdown – They may have left their hardcore roots behind a while ago but we reckon it’s a path worth revisiting. Those epic recent A7X songs, the screeching leads and killer choruses could be enhanced further with the return of the beatdown. ‘Unholy Confessions’ remains the best tune of their career and it also contains one of their best beatdowns. Coincidence?

8. Pace injection – Avenged are at their best when they’re hurtling along like a locomotive. ‘Eternal Rest’, ‘Burn It Down’, ‘Trashed And Scattered’ – all fast as fuck, all completely killer. We’ve got no problem with mid-paced Avenged (’Scream’ is a belter) but they’re at their best when they’re slamming at the speed of light.

9. Keep on keeping on – The past 3 Avenged Sevenfold albums have all been absolute scorchers. There’s no need for the band to reinvent the wheel or change their sound too much. Just keep the metal coming thick and fast.

We asked Avenged Sevenfold frontman M Shadows to comment on his favourite albums from 2009 and here’s what he told us:

“That’s tough. My favourite non-metal album is Dave Matthews ‘Big Whiskey And The GrooGrux King’. Megadeth’s album was great. I think the new Atreyu record is good. I think the metal album of the year would have to be Dream Theater’s Dark Clouds And Silver Linings. I love Dream Theater. The new record is unbelievable. I like a lot of prog stuff and I like a lot of the European metal stuff but to me Dream Theater… I love big, long songs and I love listening to Petrucci and Portnoy, and I even like James Labrie’s voice, so…

Do you think an Avenged Sevenfold fan would be surprised that you have such esoteric tastes?

“We like to throw our fans curveballs. But if it’s good I’ll listen to it. I listen to everything from pop music to Maroon 5, all sorts of shit. I just love it all, I eat it up. At the end of the day I don’t listen to only metal – you can’t eat steak every night! You have to have to have Taco Bell once in a while…”

Der Begriff  “jemandem die Flötentöne beibringen” wurde so eben auf Rock Band ausgedehnt. Eine junge Frau hat herausgefunden, dass man mit dem Mikro des Musikspiels auch prima eine Querflöte einspielen kann und pfeift fast perfekt beim Song  ‘Afterlife’ von Avengend Sevenfold mit. Und ich habe diese Sätze tatsächlich geschrieben, ohne billige Gags übers Blasen einzubauen.

okej, eftersom det närmar sig tenta så är det mycket plugg hemma som gäller… hemmaplugg = musik! vara ensam i lägenheten under helgen = bara min musik!
så jag bestämde mig för att lyssna på The Living End, som jag ska på konsert med på onsdag (Debaser Slussen)… sjukt bra! hörde dem i somras på West Coast Riot, rejält drag! stackars Josse upptäckte på tok för sent att det faktiskt inte var en vanlig bas, utan en kontrabas i bandet… men iaf så lovade vi att vi skulle se dem när de kom till Sverige nästa gång! blir lite putt när man läser om dem på olika svenska sidor, de flesta verkar tro att de låter som Green Day, vilket är ett av de få banden jag kopplar dem till! i andra låtar påminner de om flera andra band, men hittills (två skivor) har jag inte hört ett enda som låter som Green Day… hm… iaf kan man beskylla deras ena förband, Neverstore, att låta som Green Day (ok, kanske inte jättemycket..). det andra förbandet är The Knockouts, som vi också såg på West Coast Riot i somras! så de kommer nog bli några riktigt bra spelningar! Neverstore e alltid roliga och se, studs punkrock/pop, alltid lika gulligt!

annars har det blivit mycket Avenged Sevenfold, främst eftersom min ipod envisats med att lägga ihop låtar från Waking the Fallen och Alice In Chains’ Dirt… så då har det bara varit att plocka bort den mixade varianten, varpå A7X-låten förvinner medan AIC finns kvar… mkt märkligt… en gång så blandade den ABBA och AIC också.. som så många säger, jag borde inte ha/röra elektronik, de får bara massa konstiga fel…

så fick jag brev från fujifilm, de undrar om de ska skrota min kamera som varit inlämnad i snart ett år… skärmen sprack, och detta ingick tydligen inte i garantin… kostar mer än 1000 kr att få tillbaka den lagad, den kostade ca 2000 för några år sedan… så det får nog bli en ny efter jul istället (ja, jag har inbillat mig att jag kommer ha massa tid och massa pengar efter jul… vet inte riktigt hur dock..)!
iaf så är det Bandit båt till helgen!! en del helt ok band (Mustasch e iofs grymma, men jag har redan sett dem två gånger i år.. och det är inte ett sånt band man kan se typ 10 gånger på raken…), men party kommer det att bli!!  och Engel spelar ju också! de e faaktiskt inte alls så tokigt!
sen kräver ju Artur att jag kommer upp och firar när han fyller 22, så grattis till mig, som ska slänga mig upp till Uppsala i samma stund som jag kliver av båten! jaja, jag har väl varit med om värre

Bueno, me acabo de dar cuenta que a estos no los tengo en el apartado “Música” con sus características y todo eso, vamos, delito que se me olvide… En fin, ¡allá vamos!

El nombre del grupo significa “Vengado Siete Veces” en inglés y hace referencia a Génesis capítulo 4 versículo 15:

“Caín dijo a Jehovah: -¡Grande es mi castigo para ser soportado! He aquí que me echas hoy de la faz de la tierra, y me esconderé de tu presencia. Seré errante y fugitivo en la tierra, y sucederá que cualquiera que me halle me matará.

Jehovah le respondió:

-No será así. Cualquiera que mate a Caín será castigado siete veces.

Entonces Jehovah puso una señal sobre Caín, para que no lo matase cualquiera que lo hallase.

El nombre de la banda también es abreviado como A7x.

La banda se formó en 1999. El segundo álbum de Avenged Sevenfold, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, se grabó cuando los miembros de la banda tenían dieciocho años y aun estaban cursando la preparatoria. Fue lanzado por su primera discográfica: God Life Recordings. Tras la unión de Synyster Gates (guitarrista lider), la banda se formó por completo. El tema de introducción To End The rapture fue grabado de nuevo con Gates tocando, y el álbum fue re-lanzado en Hopeless Records. Su siguiente álbum, waking the fallen ya con el bajista Johnny Christ, fue lanzado en agosto de 2003. Este álbum fue un buen reconocimiento por la revista Rolling Stone, de The Boston Globe y la revista Billboard y es considerado uno de los mejores álbums de metalcore de la historia  y vendio 3.000 ejemplares de la primera semana de lanzamiento.. Poco después de este lanzamiento Avenged Sevenfold firmó con Warner Brothers Records.
