The Wall Street Securities has announced its annual scholarships worth VND3-5 million for 52 university students studying finance, banking, and securities.

The scholarship would also be given to students of other faculties in future, a group official said.

This year the scholarships will be awarded at a ceremony organized jointly with the Vietnamese Students ‘ Central Association at the Cultural Friendship Palace in Hanoi on November 29.

Darayonan Lodge

Darayonan is a Cuyonon word that means a place to stay. The lodge is situated in a residential part of Coron town, strategically located along the National Highway. Darayonan Lodge aims to provide its guests with clean and comfortable rooms, good food and quality service. We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights; and it was a part of the overwhelming positive experiences that I have had during my stay in Coron, Palawan.

The place is clean all the time! They see to it that the rooms and private comfort rooms get cleaned everyday during your stay. They also make sure that the entire lodge is spic and span all throughout the day. I have never seen any litter at all in my entire stay.

The facilities in this lodge pass the normal standards of travellers: hot and cold shower, all air-conditioned rooms, centralized water system. It’s like you never left home at all. I’ve had a comfortable stay at this lodge.

It’s also probably the only lodge that includes breakfast for two along with the daily room charge. And what’s more, drinking water and coffee is unlimited, no extra charge. I should say that staying at Darayonan is really a value for your money.

0600 hrs. – Overnight gales seem to have blown themselves out and the rain has stopped too.  Sky is clear and blue(ish), just faint glimmerings as the sun comes up.  Everything looks washed and sparkly clean.  Smells good too, a combination of a November smell of fallen leaves (beginning to rot down) and tangy salt-laden sea air – makes me want to take deep, deep breaths to absorb the quintessential essence of our good land.

Shortly Mrs. F,  Jess the Lean Mean Lurching Machine and I are going out for the weekend.  Not too far, but we’ve packed some essential supplies, food for the mutt, a blow-up bed for Mrs. F and a tent and a couple of stoves for me (well, along with other camping – not backpacking kit). and we’re heading to a more inland location to see our daughter and grand-daughter.  I have things to test out and think about so it’s not entirely without an ‘outdoors’ theme.  I hope to get some walking in too.  Time will tell on that one.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, may Allaah exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

The believer is stronger than the devil, Allaah says (which means): {Ever feeble indeed is the plot of Shaitan (Satan).}[Quran 4:76]. Allaah further says (which means): {From the evil of the whisperer (devil who whispers evil in the hearts of men) who withdraws (from his whispering in one’s heart after one remembers Allaah).}[Quran 114:4]. The whisperer is the devil who withdraws when the person mentions Allaah. The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: “Indeed a believer defeats and overcomes the devil in the same way he overpowers his camel during travel.” [Ahmad]

As regards the angels, they die in the same way all other creatures die, Allaah says (which means): {Whatsoever is on it (the earth) will perish.}[Quran 55:26]. Al-Qurtubi, may Allaah have mercy on him, said regarding the interpretation of this verse: ‘When this verse was revealed, Ibn ‘Abbaas, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “the angels said: “The people of the Earth will perish”, so Allaah revealed (which means): {Everything will perish except His Face.}[Quran 28:88], then the angels realized that they will perish as well.’

However, one cannot imagine that the angels will be punished as Allaah created them only to worship Him and to obey Him. Allaah says (which means): {They (i.e. the angels) glorify His Praises night and day, (and) they never slacken (to do so)}[Quran 21:20]. Allaah further says (which means): {They disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allaah, but do that which they are commanded.}[Quran 66:6].

Concerning crying in a dream when thinking about Islam, this could be due to the sadness over the situation of Islam today; it might also be from the devil who want to sadden him, or because of something else.

With regard to your question whether the dead can see us, the answer is ‘no’. The sight is withdrawn from the dead as soon as his soul is taken away. The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: “When the soul is taken away from the dead person, the sight follows it.” [Muslim]

I am a sinner. And the sin that I live with kills me. It may not be a huge sin in comparison to other things in life. But it is the biggest sin I have ever committed in my life. I have confessed this sin to God, via my priest, twice. The first time I confessed it was amazing. I had never felt so ecstatically happy in all my life. The biggest weight was off of my shoulders. And three months later my dear grandmother passed away and the only way I could think of coping was to sin again. And shortly after that I confessed again, but I didn’t get the relief I felt. And I have continued sinning.

Eight months later and I have never felt further from God. My life is so stressful. I have forgotten how to pray. Mass is a chore for  me, I sing in the choir and I think thats the only reason why I still go. I don’t attend adoration anymore. The thought of sitting before the Blessed Sacrament just… I dunno… kills me?

I know what could possibly solve all this. Confession. But I need to talk more than about my sin. I need to talk about how it makes me feel, what it has caused, what causes it. I need to talk about the crap I am enduring in life. I need to get EVERYTHING off of my chest. I need a spiritual hug. I need God. And right now I can’t find him in any of His usual haunts.

And do you know what the disgusting thing is. everything in this blog is about me. me me me me me. and it’s shit. I don’t live a life for God. I live a life for ME. A selfish existence.

So if God reads blogs….. Lord, please help me to help you. Make me at peace with You. Teach me the love I once knew.
