Kenali dan Cintai Indonesia Kita

Beberapa gejala mengenai hal tersebut yang seringkali kita temukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari :

• Pimpinan perusahaan-perusahaan kita masih lebih percaya dengan tenaga ahli orang asing dibandingkan dengan tenaga ahli dari negara sendiri, padahal kemampuan mereka belum tentu lebih tinggi.
• Pimpinan perusahaan-perusahaan kita rela membayar orang asing jauh lebih mahal berlipat kali dibandingkan dengan orang Indonesia sendiri (selain juga karena ada ketentuan upah minimal TKA).
• Banyak anggota DPR kita rela meninggalkan rapat penting hanya sekedar untuk mendengarkan konsultan asing (yang sudah memiliki ‘record’ jelek di departemen) memaparkan ‘dagangan’nya yang belum tentu cocok dengan kebutuhan DPR dan negara kita.
• Orangtua kita lebih senang dan bangga menyekolahkan anaknya ke luar negeri (meskipun kualitas sekolah/universitasnya tidak jelas ‘jelek’) dibanding di Indonesia meskipun telah diterima di Universitas terbaik (UI, ITB, Unpad atau UGM.
• Ibu-ibu kita lebih menyukai dan ‘pede’ memakai produk (pakaian, sepatu, tas, dll) asing dibanding memakai produk lokal (sepatu Cibaduyut, tas Tajur, pakaian Tanah Abang, dll). Padahal kualitas produk-produk kita tersebut tidak kalah bagus bahkan banyak digemari oleh pengusaha-pengusaha/pedagang dari luar negeri .
• Orang-orang kaya kita lebih percaya dengan dokter-dokter dari Singapura, Malaysia, Australia atau Jerman, padahal sudah banyak dokter-dokter dan rumah sakit di Indonesia yang sudah bagus dan disegani kolega-koleganya dari negara-negara lain.
• Anak-anak kita lebih senang membaca buku, main video game dan menonton film Spiderman, Sincan, Naruto, Benten, dan lainnya, dibanding membaca buku-buku dan menonton film-film Anak-Anak Indonesia (memang sekarang ada, kalau dulu sih: Godam, Gundala, dll).
• Bahkan PRT-PRT (juga Ibu-Ibu RT-nya) kita pada waktu lalu sempat sangat menggemari telenovela Maria Mercedes, Marimar, dan lainnya. Namun syukurlah saat ini mereka sudah menggemari sinetron lokal (Cinta Fitri, Cinta dan Anugrah) meskipun kita masih sulit menyensornya untuk kepentingan perkembangan anak-anak kita.
• Penggemar sepakbola kita lebih suka menonton tayangan Liga Primer Inggris, LA Liga Spanyol, Liga Italia, Bundes Liga Jerman atau Eresdivisi Liga Belanda, dibandingkan menyaksikan tayangan Liga Indonesia (yang memang penampilan dan prestasinya jelek, selain ‘prestasi’ berkelahi atau mengejar-ngejar wasit).

Kita masih seringkali TIDAK MENYADARI atau LUPA bahwa :

• Negeri ini pernah memiliki seorang GAJAHMADA pemersatu Nusantara nan luas; melahirkan seorang SUKARNO seorang pemberani penentang Amerika negara adikuasa di jamannya; me’nyumbang’kan seorang SUDJATMOKO sebagai Rektor PBB; me’mamer’kan seorang HABIBIE sebagai ahli pesawat terbang di Jerman; bahkan telah menempa universalitas seorang BARACK OBAMA, presiden Amerika yang diidolakan hampir seluruh masyarakat dunia saat ini.
• Negeri ini sekarang telah banyak mencetak JUARA-JUARA OLIMPIADE melalui tangan emas PROF JOHANNES SURYA (bagaimana dengan peran Pemerintah kita).

J’ai rencontré Tony Allen, un des pères de l’afrobeat à Paris à l’occasion de la sortie de son nouvel album «Secret Agent». Je l’ai revu au Festival Factory en octobre. Un concert dont le final fut mémorable : une longue jam avec le virtuose des claviers RV (Hervé Salters) et son combo rock-funk-jazz General Elektriks. Un moment d’anthologie qui n’existe pas sur le net pour l’instant. En attendant, voici une autre vidéo live de Tony Allen et mon interview réalisée pour Radio Paradiso, écoutable ici. Il y parle de son nouvel album, mais aussi de sa vision actuelle du Nigéria, de son approche musicale. Il se remémore également ses débuts avec Fela ainsi que comment l’afrobeat fut créé! I love it when other people share their insights about me because from them I learned that I’m a very interesting person to talk about and that I thank them for making me famous . For others, those nasty comments should be something to be alarmed about but for me, Hell No!!! They just prove themselves wrong, if I am indeed a B#%^@  why talk about me? you see it’s a sign of INSECURITY, they scrutinize others in order to gain attention, because they are not intelligent or gorgeous enough to get their own limelight, they are using me to gain/direct others attention to them (so unfortunate I get all the credit).. do I feel used? NO!!! definitely not… why? becuase it only shows me their true color….. black that is… hehehehehe

 DENOUNCE THE ANTI-HOMOSEXUALITY BILL IN THE PARLIAMENT OF UGANDA.

PROTEST AT THE UGANDAN DIPLOMATIC MISSION IN YOUR COUNTRY

Dear Partners, Allies and Friends,

 As you already know, the “Anti-Homosexuality Bill 2009.” was recently tabled before the Parliament of Uganda. The Bill’s provisions are draconian and among them are;

 •       Any person alleged to be homosexual would be at risk of life imprisonment or in some circumstances the death penalty;

 •       Any parent who does not denounce their lesbian daughter or gay son to the authorities would face fines of $ 2,650.00 or three years in prison;

 •       Any teacher who does not report a lesbian or gay pupil to the authorities within 24 hours would face the same penalties;

 •       And any landlord or landlady who happens to give housing to a suspected homosexual would risk 7 years of imprisonment.

 •       Similarly, the Bill threatens to punish or ruin the reputation of anyone who works with the gay or lesbian population, such as medical doctors working on HIV/AIDS, civil society leaders active in the fields of sexual and reproductive health, hence further undermining public health efforts to combat the spread of HIV;

 •       All of the offences covered by the Bill as drafted can be applied to a Ugandan citizen who allegedly commits them – even outside Uganda!

 The existing law has already been employed in an arbitrary way, and the Bill will just exacerbate that effect. There is a continued increase in campaigns of violence and unwarranted arrests of homosexuals. There are eight ongoing cases in various courts. Four accused persons are unable to meet the harsh bail conditions set against them. As a result, Brian Pande died in Mbale Hospital on 13th September, 2009 as he awaited trial.

 Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) calls upon you our partner, ally and/or friend to action. Denounce this bill through a protest at a Ugandan Diplomatic Mission in your country on November 9th 2009, where applicable. Urge the Government of Uganda to reject this Bill in its entirety.

Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG)  Condemn the tabled anti-homosexuality bill

As a network of human rights activists, working in the areas of sexual rights as well as other human rights issues, we write to urge you to oppose a repressive bill which was tabled in Parliament of Uganda on 14^th October 2009.

This bill is a blow to the steady progress of democracy in Uganda. It proposes criminalization of advocacy and support for the rights of homosexual Ugandans.  It also prohibits any public discussion or expression of gay and lesbian lives and any organizing around sexual orientation.  In doing so, it violates the basic rights to freedom of expression, conscience, association, and assembly, as well as internationally recognized protections against discrimination.   The proposed bill intention is to divide and discriminate against the Ugandan homosexual population, and exclude them from participation in public life, which goes against the inclusive spirit necessary for our economic as well as political development. Its spirit is profoundly undemocratic and un-African.

Over the recent months increased campaigns of violence have gone uncontrolled. The violence directed at Homosexual Ugandans has resulted in the unwarranted arrests of many people; there are eight ongoing cases in various courts all over Uganda of which four accused persons are unable to meet the harsh bail conditions set against them.  These acts of violence have now resulted in the deaths of several homosexual people, such as Brian Pande at Mbale Hospital as he awaited trial. This bill aggravates stigma and hatred; and renders all promised protections enshrined in the constitution for all Ugandan citizens void.

 Religious leaders and policy makers have also exhibited very hostile attitudes towards otherwise peace keeping homosexual Ugandans by publicizing slanderous and hateful messages in the media, creating serious security concerns for the lives of SMUG network members

Uganda has repeatedly pledged to defend these fundamental freedoms in the Constitution; it has also signed treaties binding it to respect international human rights law and standards, including the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.  As part of the community of nations forming sexual minorities we urge Ugandan parliamentarians and government to continue to respect these principles and reject this bill, which establishes a new and totally undemocratic level of policing private life. SMUG condemns both of these positions as undemocratic and unacceptable.  

These positions will further set a dangerous precedent and send a signal that any Ugandan’s privacy is unguaranteed -that all of our civil society could be put under attack.     If this bill is passed into law, it will clearly endanger the work of all human rights defenders and members of civil society in Uganda.

 This proposed legislation violates Uganda’s most basic obligations to the rights, and well-being, of its people. By signing international treaties and entering the international community, the Ugandan government has undertaken the obligation to promote and protect the human rights of its population, without discrimination on any grounds. As the Sexual Minorities in Uganda, we urge you to act on that obligation, and to further the growth of our democracy.  Kindly vote against this bill.

Karakter dalam novel yang baik benar-benar membawa mengembalikan jati diri bangsa cerita sepanjang lebih daripada konsep lain secara tertulis. Masalah aku juga sering melihat di klien saya menulis adalah basi dialog jenis yang terdengar seperti Kebangsaan setiap karakter adalah orang yang sama.

Pernahkah Anda mendengarkan orang sementara pada saat pesta atau di tengah kerumunan di Bangsa toko Orang berbicara di negeri ini dengan banyak dialek indah. Belajar untuk menggabungkan berbagai cara berbicara akan menyebabkan karakter Anda untuk melompat dari halaman yang muncul untuk menjadi orang-orang yang sebenarnya. Hal ini sangat penting. Pembaca harus mampu mengidentifikasi dan berhubungan dengan karakter-karakter yang mendorong cerita Anda.

Bagaimana melakukan hal ini tidak rumit. Ketika Anda fleshing Jati Diri Bangsa keluar karakter Anda melakukannya dengan sebuah notebook. Luangkan waktu Anda dan pendapat mereka tentang orang macam apa masing-masing karakter dari penampilan karier pendidikan pengaruh keluarga keanehan kebangsaan dll Oleh meneliti dan mengembangkan karakter Anda Anda akan datang untuk mengenal Jati Diri mereka seperti sahabat. Tokoh fiksi ini benar-benar akan membimbing Anda ketika Anda menulis.

Sebagai contoh – antagonis Anda adalah seorang pemuda berpendidikan kasar dengan Mengembalikan Jati Diri Bangsa gangguan mental. Dialog yang harus Anda gunakan untuk membawa hidup karakter ini

quot Aku tidak akan melakukannya tidak peduli bagaimana Anda mencoba meyakinkan saya. Pada kenyataannya Anda akan menyebabkan saya kekacauan besar. quot Kebangsaan Michael duduk menyilangkan kaki dan menghela napas.

Atau

quot Neraka tidak saya tidak akan lakukan dat No way man. Apa kau yang menganggap aku freakin idiot Kau benar-benar di saraf man. Hey man aku harus senjata yang akan cocok Yer lemak mulut sangat baik jika Anda yang tidak tutup mulut. quot Michael berjalan mondar-mandir bergumam sendiri mengambil sesuatu dari kemejanya yang tidak Jati Diri Bangsa ada.

Contoh pertama Jati Diri tidak Mengembalikan Jati Diri Bangsa Kita Dengan Berkarya benar dengan karakter Michael sama sekali. Ia terdengar seperti orang lain di jalan Anda tidak memberi petunjuk kepada kepribadian aslinya. Namun Jati Diri Bangsa contoh kedua memberitahu Anda beberapa hal tentang dia cara di mana ia berbicara menunjukkan bahwa ia tidak berpendidikan marah dan kasar. Tindakannya memberitahu pembaca bahwa dia melihat hal-hal yang tidak ada menunjukkan – tidak mengatakan – bahwa dia memiliki masalah dengan kenyataan. Dalam beberapa kalimat dialog Anda telah Mengembalikan Jati Diri memberikan Bangsa pembaca informasi berharga tentang Michael yang akan mengembalikan jati diri bangsa mengambil seluruh halaman untuk memberitahu dalam bentuk narasi.

Afektif dialog akan bergerak cerita Anda sepanjang lebih cepat daripada menulis paragraf deskripsi yang bisa berakhir mengulur-ulur cerita Anda. Dialog aktif menulis yang akan menempatkan pembaca Anda berhubungan dengan karakter Anda tidak seperti cerita lainnya dinamis. Jujur terhadap karakter Anda dan bagaimana mereka berhubungan dengan sisa cerita akan menjadi yang paling penting dinamika penulisan buku Anda.

 I love discovering new sounds. So when I came across Ayo, I knew I needed to share her music with as many people as I could. She is an Afro-German guitar-strumming, afro-funk/soul songstress. She has a slight accent and it makes her voice sound amazing over the reggae beats. Her lyrics are reminiscent of  a young Carly Simon: songs about womanhood, love and loss. Her debut album went double-platinum in Europe and then the album was released, via Interscope Records,  in 2007. Late 2008, she released her second album, Gravity at Last in France and embarked on a concert all throughout Europe.

I remember seeing this video not too long ago on MTV2 and thought oh another afro-centric, guitar-strumming, bluesy-sounding singer has come along…but she is completely different.She is that and more. Here’s an official video for song off her debut album:

FG2BH takes a look back at a few inspirational African bold faced names making it in the fashion world.

A newcomer to the fashion world is French-born/Nigerian/New Yorker photographer turned male model David Agbodji.

Agbodji already scored a plum spot as NYMag’s Fashion Blog The Cut’s Meet The New Guy editorial page back in June 2009. He also went on to open and close the Calvin Klein runway show in Milan.

His career high was a much-blogged about editorial appearances in GQ Style (as seen above) where the publication focus on the new Obama America trend.

What does late night talk show host Jon Stewart have in common with a successful Malawian teenager? Homemade Windmills!

William Kamkwamba, a Malawian high school student and inventor, talks to Jon Stewart about how he built a windmill by looking at pictures in a book.

His invention helped to bring reliable electricity and water to his community. According to Make Fetch Happen, the laidback AD campaigns were done in support of the retail chain’s City Stories promotion.

Liya Kebede for J. Crew

The Ethiopian model/mother of two/actress/LemLem fashion designer made history by being J. Crew’s first exclusive face for their April 2009 catalog. The AD campaign hit the fashion world fresh off the heels of First Lady Michelle Obama’s loyalty to the brand.
