This afternoon we got a phone call that we were selected to win a basket full of children’s items from a local baby store!  I’m so excited to pick it up.  We entered so many drawings today that I can’t remember what was in that basket

Making and selling baby quilts is usually a legitimate business and it really is as big or because small, as part time or perhaps as full time as you desire. If you have had some complements on your own baby quilt creations and desire to turn those kudos into profits, you have many options.

If you want to customize baby quilts, place inexpensive classified ads close to you newspapers. It doesn’t has to be wordy, just enough to obtain customers to call anyone. Something like: “Your nursery. Your colors. Your customized baby quilt. Phone #. ” After that, you can quote customers on a personalized theme. Advertising does not need to be expensive. Take advantage of cost-free online ads and cost-free community bulletin boards inside your neighborhood stores.

Another solution to start selling baby quilts could be to make your creations plus sell them as is actually. In primul rand, ne-am mutat la casa noastra, principalul motiv pentru care nici nu am mai povestit pe aici. David, care intre timp a implinit 10 luni, are acum o casa si o curte intreaga la dispozitie. Are camera lui, cu o gramada de jucarii imprastiate, are multi copii in vecini cu care sa se joace si, cel mai important, are un mediu linistit, mai sigur si mai curat decat orasul, unde sa creasca.

De vreo doua luni, David exerseaza de zor mersul si vorbitul. Face toata ziua vocalize, vorbeste cu jucariile, vorbeste cu televizorul, te strici de ras daca il auzi: “Ete, tai tai, da, ghe ghe, ta ta”. Ca si cuvinte, spune apa si gata atunci cand vrea el. Mai spune si tata, dar doar cateodata asociaza cuvantul cu persoana. Spre nemultumirea mea, nu spune deloc mama.

Am ajuns la etapa periculoasa in care merge tinandu-se de mana si chiar face cativa pasi singurel. Asa ca pazea de prize, colturi, scaune, plante periculoase (am o dieffenbachia mare si frumoasa, dar si foarte otravitoare). Trebuie sa luam portita pentru scari, aparatoare de colturi si protectii pentru prize.

De asemenea, exersam de zor mersul de-a busilea pentru ca ne-am inscris la Competitia Bebelusilor de la BABY EXPO, desi s-ar putea ca David sa o ia direct in picioare ).  Inca nu am reusit sa selectez cea mai buna momeala pentru el … chiar asa, am voie oare sa folosesc o momeala in timpul competitiei?

La partea cu adormitul, am scapat definitiv de plimbat. Am terminat si cu leaganul care acum se odihneste in pod pana la copilul numarul 2, astfel incat metoda de adormit este mai nou perna.

In final, ne pregatim pentru luna viitoare cand implinim un an. Nu imi vine sa cred ca pot sa spun asa; ca luna viitoare David face un an. A trecut timpul asa de repede, iar el se transforma din bebelus in baietel intr-un ritm care ma sperie. Parca acusi il vad suficient de mare incat sa nu mai stea la pupat si imbratisat .

GoldenView Ultrasound offers elective 3d  and  4d ultrasound services and gender determination to expectant mothers in Chicago IL and Boston MA.  We have imaged over 8,000 babies since 2005. 

We offer 3d/4d Ultrasound sessions starting at 22 weeks.  By 22 weeks gestation, most babies have enough fat stores to image well in 3D.   We have found that our customers are much more satisfied with the 3d baby photos that are produced 22 weeks and up.  Prior to 22 weeks, many babies still look skeletal in 3D due to lack of fat stores.  Additionally, their facial features are more difficult to ascertain.  If you are anxious to learn the gender of your baby, we recommend you pay only for a gender determination ultrasound session which are available starting at 16 weeks and then come back later in the pregnancy for a 3d/4d Ultrasound session when your baby is more developed. 

On the other end of the spectrum, we prefer to perform the 3D scans no later than the end of the 35^th week of pregnancy.    While we have obtained some beautiful images of babies post 36 weeks, the odds are greater that the baby may have dropped into the pelvis making facial shots difficult to obtain  Additionally, there is generally less amniotic fluid in front of the face this far in the pregnancy.  With 3D ultrasound, sufficient amniotic fluid in front of the area we are scanning provides the clarity we need for excellent images.

At any stage of the pregnancy, the baby can be in a position that is difficult to get facial shots.  They may be persistently facing the spine, covered in placenta or have feet and hands in front of the face.  Early enough in the pregnancy these factors can usually be remedied by repositioning the expectant mother,  or in some cases rescheduling the scan for a later date.  If a mother to be were to come in after 36 weeks we would have less time to reschedule and less probability that the baby will move to a better position given the lack of room to move.    Keep in mind that this is ultrasound and not a photo session.  The babies will often have their hands and/or feet in front of their face.  A full face shot is never guaranteed.  We have head back from many clients that their baby often holds their hands up to their face just as they did during their ultrasound session and are a wonderful keepsake.

GoldenView Ultrasound will bring you back for a return visit free of charge if we are unable to get any images of your baby on the first visit.    This does occur about 10% of the time and usually is remedied by the 2^nd visit.  Other facilities may charge a fee for this service or refuse to see you again for an additional scan.  The majority of our return visits do generate images of the baby if the factor on the first visit was due to positioning and the client came in before the 35^th week of pregnancy.

In our experience at GoldenView Ultrasound, overall, the ideal time for most 3D scans is between 25 and 30 weeks.  By this stage, the babies facial features are usually developed as well as their fat stores, yet they still have plenty of room to move around and sufficient amniotic fluid in front of them for clear imaging. 

For plus sized expectant mothers, the best results for 3D ultrasounds are usually done between 32 and 34 weeks gestation. 

Many of our families choose to come in for more than one visit so that they can see the baby develop.  GoldenView Ultrasound offers great specials on return visits to our clients.  If you are anxious to see your baby and want to watch your baby develop, then by all means, schedule an appointment as early as 22 weeks for the first peek at your baby.  At this stage there is generally more fetal movement in the womb and can be a very fun session to view.  Coming back again around 28 to 32 weeks for a 2^nd visit will generally produce those chubby cheek baby images.   

 The best time for a 3D scan if you are expecting multiples is usually 23 to 27 weeks gestation.  Multiples are often smaller so the extra week gives more time for fetal development but because there is less room in the womb with multiples we do prefer to see you prior to the end of the 27^th week.

The usual exhibitors are there. You’ll find stores like Kelsey’s, Ohana Daze, Baby Emporium, and others. You’ll find the major childbirth hospitals, photographers, keiki ID, and other vendors like Sham Wow. You can also find some party ideas like Aloha Clowns and Party Creations by Yolie. I’ve seen both in action and they’re both great to use at parties.

Some of the great ideas/deals that I saw today:

• A ”cup” that holds your ice cream cone or ice cream stick and keeps it from dripping. $5 for 1 or 4 for $15.
• Your Baby Can Read booth has a new set of  themed board books for infants and toddlers. Not to mentions all their great videos, books, and cards. (We purchased a set of  the flap books for Daughter #2. We have a really old one that came out with their original video and not it’s all tattered up.)
• Baby Yum Yum for sale in bulk. If you’re still buying Baby Yum Yum then it’s a good deal. I haven’t bought it since the whole melamine in milk powder scare.
• Wee Play and Learn has a great deal. You can get one month of unlimited play for your child for only $25. (We signed up and also got a Rody bouncy toy for $25. The Rody was 50% off.)
• Beautiful Son a movie that was shown on PBS has a booth. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should.
• Keiki ID – If you don’t have one for your child, don’t wait.

Why would I think that in an economy like we have today? Why would I think of it in that way with many people not working, businesses failing, and the threats of what CPSIA will do to many, many more small businesses. I will tell you why. I believe. Plain and simple. I believe. I am a dreamer yes, but I am also a realist. I know that times are hard, but you have to change YOUR mindset to know that THIS is YOUR time to shine. It is time for you to re-invent yourself. It is an opportunity to make those changes in your business that just aren’t working for you, set up a new plan and market yourself like crazy! It honestly does not take a lot of money to do that, just time, and patience. You have to take advantage of the situation and really put yourself to the test. Can you do it? Do you believe in yourself, or in your product? Because I know that I believe in your business and products. If you have been with me for a while, you know that is the honest to goodness truth. Those that just recently joined, after you get to know me (more on a personal level), you will come to see that I really do love working with who I’ve come to call, “My girls”, just ask any of them, they’ll tell ya!

Now what I want you to do is, stop thinking about the “What If’s” and replace that with “No matter what, I will succeed”. You and you alone have the power to change how your business is going. If you don’t like something, change it. If you want more retailers, go get them. If you don’t know how to do something, ask someone who does. YOU have the power. Don’t let the news, the media, the papers, the magazines dictate how you run your business. You have invested too much to just throw it all to the dogs. Put yourself out there. Make yourself heard. Make yourself seen.

For instance, I know that there are other gifting companies out there. It just goes to prove that there is a market for what I am doing. I am ok with the competition. It just makes life more interesting. It allows me to reinvent myself all the time. Bring in new things, test things out, get rid of things that don’t work for the companies I represent. I never was one for long term contracts because I don’t like to tie people in Baby Swags unless they want to be here. I have built my business just as you all have. I have spent countless hours up at night researching, making contacts, taking pictures of product, writing press releases, reaching out to companies for support, strumming up media, and I won’t stop. I am up at 7am, running around with three kids all day and night, then when they are all in bed, I work until 3am. I don’t do this a few nights, I do this EVERY night. I am constantly reaching out to people whether it be on Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, ning networks, email networks, my network, I reach out and make myself available to my clients, my contacts, my friends. With everything I do, I put at least 200% into it. I have built my business by providing the best customer service and have developed a great following. I have become well known in the entrepreneurial community and I am extremely proud of all my accomplishments and for the fact that I have been able to do my job and have received many positive results. I don’t like failing and I certainly do not like giving up on my dreams. Like the Trump man says, quitting makes you a loser and I am not a loser, nor are you.

So you see, I have the same exact work ethics as you do. I work hard, I put my best foot forward and I keep on movin towards my goals. I am not giving up, not now, not ever and nor should you. Do not let this economic situation make you a victim. Stand tall, stand strong and you will see, when this becomes a distant memory, YOU will still be standing!
