I have to confess.. i have no big knowledge of her music as some of my other friends. Some are just crazy about her. Wonder why celebrities have enormous control on people’s conscious. I guess, I will never understand that.

“…Baby One More Time” is a great song. It’s stylishly designed, it highlights it’s original artist (Britney Spears) very well, and it was both poppy and vibrant enough to be released as the girl’s first single. It helped make her career, long before she undertook the challenge of destroying it.

That doesn’t mean I like it. I just can’t deny it’s a great song.

Fountains of Wayne’s cover, however, is better than the original. They take whatever it is about the original that I don’t like, and leave it out. This cover is largely the same as the original, but without any of the pop elements that makes the original so… Britney.
The song is track 3, disc 2, but it’s worth the price of the album all by itself.

Segun la revista Ok. lo que indica que esta noticia es tan cierta como el talento de la Rana… el caso es que en una de sus tantas mentiras exclusiva este tabloide afirma que Britney se casara nuevamente con su agente Jason Trawick e incluso inventaron una lista de invitados en donde hay puras “celebridades”, como si Britney pensara en este momento en arruinar su vida otra vez… XD

A pesar de que los criticos de Australia han atacado a la reina del pop Britney Spears por hacer playback en sus conciertos,  al parecer no escucha las criticas y se concentra en ofrecer lo mejor de ella, por eso en uno de sus conciertos sorprendio a todos los ahi presentes al aparecer con un bigote en el escenario, Britney esta muy sexy y eso lo podemos ver en las fotos,  no olviden apoyar a 3 en mediabase y comprar “The Singles Collection”, livin’ in sin is the new thing, yeah!

It still amazes me he wrote all these songs

In 1998, Britney Spears sauntered down the halls of high school, dressed in uniform, singing about the boy who broke her heart. ” … Baby One More Time” let the world know that a new pop starlet was in town.

“I decided to try this idea that someone had thrown at me and they hated it — they absolutely hated it,” the video’s director, Nigel Dick, told MTV News. “So I jumped on the phone with Britney and she says, ‘Well, I now I think it should be about me in school and there be lots of hot boys around,’ and that was pretty much it — oh, and a bunch of dancing. And my response was, ‘OK.’ “

In a 1998 interview with MTV, Spears revealed that she wanted the video to reflect the lives of her fans, so she wanted to set it in a school. “The first idea we had for the video was so off the wall,” she said. “I was like, ‘I want something a lot of kids can relate to.’ It’s just a fun video.”

Britney’s “Lolita”-esque schoolgirl look may have resonated with kids, but it didn’t exactly please their parents. And Dick gives full credit to Spears for that idea. “My idea originally was just jeans and T-shirts, and we were at the wardrobe fitting and Britney holds up the jeans and T-shirts and says, ‘Wouldn’t I wear a schoolgirl outfit?’ ” he said. “Every piece of wardrobe in the video came from Kmart, and I was told at the time not one piece of clothing in the video cost more than $17. On that level, it’s real. That probably, in retrospect, is a part of its charm.”

Later on, in 2000, Britney would sit down with MTV and explain why she decided on the semi-risqué fashions. “Me showing my belly? I’m from the South; you’re stupid if you don’t wear a sports bra [when you] go to dance class, you’re going to be sweating your butt off,” she explained. “It was such a wonderful experience. All these people there, working for you. I had my own trailer. It was an amazing experience.”

Dick said at the time all his colleagues wondered why he would want to work on a video for a 16-year-old unknown, but he had his reasons. “My response was, ‘It’s a great song. I don’t know anything about Britney. I never watched the “Mickey Mouse Club.” She seems like a great kid and she’s very enthusiastic,’ ” he said. “But I just love the song. It’s just a great song.”

When Britney sat down with MTV in 1998, she echoed the sentiment, noting that as soon as she heard it, she knew she had to record the track. “It’s a song every girl can relate to,” she said. “She regrets it. She wants him back.”

Kris Allen performed four songs off his new album, as well as a few “old” favorites today in Miami. MJ is posting videos as soon as she gets them, so check over there for updates.

Allen sang Baby One More Time (He is sooo a Travis fan.), Live Like We’re Dying and the previously unheard Can’t Stay Away and Before We Come Undone.

Although the only videos I’ve seen thus far have been mediocre in sound quality, I gotta admit I’m definitely feeling this Can’t Stay Away. In some parts, it reminds me of  I’m In Love With A Girl by Gavin DeGraw, however, I HATE THAT SONG. And I really like Can’t Stay Away…although I’ve only heard about 1 minute of it from some crap quality video.

I would love to hear more of Before We Come Undone, but the videos are worse than Can’t Stay Away. I couldn’t even make out any of the lyrics, but I’ve heard enough to know I really do want to hear the rest of Allen’s album. And I don’t think it sounds like Daughtry or David Cook, which I’m sure some people are claiming…oh yes, they are. Nor does it sound like Jason Mraz or John Mayer, but granted, I don’t know much of Mraz’s music and I hate John Mayer. If hate were measured by planets in our solar system, my hate for John Mayer would be Jupiter. And all of Jupiter’s moons.

Didn’t he take voice lessons after idol because he realized he won due to the homophobes and cheaters?……… well…………………..bas ed on this clip he sounds like he needs a few more years of them.

Just fade Kris….your only hope was to be a talented & original song writer and……..ya just ain’t.

Oh, here were go again with the homophobes. Everyone’s a homophobe. If you hate the guy so much, why bother watching videos posted of him on YouTube. And in case you didn’t know, season 8 of American Idol is over. Finito. Even the tour is just a distant memory.

23 de octubre de 1998. Una artista de 16 años lanza a la radio su primer single de su disco homónimo “…Baby One More Time”. ¿Acaso esperaba llegar a ser la leyenda que es hoy?

Hace 11 años exactos, Britney Jean Spears (Kentwood, Louisiana) comenzó su andadura por el mundo musical creando un clásico en el mundo pop de los 90 y de toda la historia.

Su disco acabaría vendiendo más de 20 millones de copias a nivel mundial, le haría conseguir más de 40 premios y la colocaría en el escalafon de hitos y leyendas tales como Michael Jackson o Madonna, con los que actuaría pocos años después.

Tras este disco se sucedieron 6 más de los que.. ¿realmente hace falta decir algo? Ella ha escrito historia y todos la hemos vivido.

Two years after Welcome Interstate Managers, Fountains of Wayne released a double-CD compilation of B-sides and unreleased tracks titled Out-of-State Plates. The collection was a bit of a disappointment, as those things go, stuffed with novelty tracks that probably would have better off hidden.

This album backs up my observation that Welcome Interstate Managers is about four songs too long. It seems Fountains of Wayne is a band that hits big when they hit but otherwise has a little trouble connecting with the ball. To use a football analogy, they’re like a wide receiver who makes a lot of big plays but also drops a lot of easy passes. (That reminds me of Buddy Ryan’s famous comment about Cris Carter — meant as a criticism: “All he does is catch touchdowns.”)

Oddly, the song on Out-of-State Plates that I’m most drawn to wasn’t written by the band. It’s a cover of Britney Spears’ first hit, ‘…Baby, One More Time.’ This straight-faced rendition makes it clear that, Britney’s Catholic school girl outfit and thin vocals aside, this is actually a pretty good song.

The advent of YouTube speed up the process of immersing yourself in user-generated content. It turned into ripping off protected content, reuniting us with video we hadn’t seen in years from the archives, made TIVO less necessary and put the user in control.

In the last couple of years it’s also excelerated the process of covering songs. Artists used to pick older, popular hits to get the attention of the public, reinventing them or not in some cases. I am obsessed with cover songs. One of my favorites is Travis’ version of ‘Baby…One More Time,’ which they have been performing for years. It’s a B-side from back in the day (yes it’s still in my physically alphabetized collection.)

Another favorite, for a different reason, oh I can’t even write this with a straight face, was seeing listening to Ray-J butchers “Clocks” by Coldplay. It was coming through the walls for hours when I was still working at Yahoo! I couldn’t stay in the studio for more than a few minutes listening to him. He was looking at words off of his sidekick.

What’s not to like about the distracted, hired musicians who are wishing they too could “go home” when Ray J puts his own spin on this by screaming out “You…you…I don’t think you know what I’m talking about…” yeah, and neither did you fool. It was funny how many artists wanted to come in and cover Coldplay. Poor Natasha Bedingfield lost out because Ray J had recorded his version of “Clocks” first. No doubt, Natasha is a true pro, regrouped and then killed it covering Maroon 5 “This Love.”

I love you NB, but my favorite cover in the time I was Head of Music Video Programming for Yahoo! Music was Mandy Moore’s cover of ‘Umbrella’ which wound up hitting radio, gettings over a million plays on YouTube and getting tons of press.

It’s cool when established artists, play music they didn’t write to show their abilities (cough thanks Ray J bwahahaha.) Who hasn’t blasted Jimi Hendrix’s version of ‘The Star Spangled Banner?’ (Really kids, you don’t have a version of this in your collection? WTF?)

Aside from YouTuber’s and semi-established covers, now we have brand new artists covering hits to get our attention. If you haven’t already fallen in love with the wonderful GaryGo, you will get his sense of humor, along with his talent with his cover of Lady Gaga’s “Let’s Dance.”

It’s really amazing when artists humanize themselves by covering songs that we all love. There are endless covers to amaze us. Rolling Stone picked Cali native, Anya Marina as one of their top ten artists to watch. I like watching her new video which has a cameo from Daniel V. and some dude from Weeds (I haven’t seen it so I don’t know, as well as a dude from Cloverfield) in NY’s Babeland,sex shop version of T.I.’s “Whatever You Like.” I love when artists tackle a song already a hit in it’s own right, and really do more then just cover it, they own it, they interpret it, making it their own.

I have to include my fave new popstar this year, Pixie Lott. She is absolutely fun, talented, and she reminds me of my friend Sami Fitz, especially when she wears sparkling shorts!

There are dozens of examples, some that I’ve already mentioned by Pearl Jam covering Hunters & Collectors, Coldplay covering A-ha, Robbie Williams, Gwyneth Paltrow, George Michael did an entire ‘Cover To Cover’ tour……yes, this could take all day. Tell me your favorite cover songs.

Britney isn’t known to be the most child-friendly or “safe” artist out there; in fact, she isn’t. With her new single, “3,” Ms. Spears has managed to challenge convention again. Really, her notoriety started in 1998, with the introduction of “…Baby One More Time” (tame, compared to “3″) and has gone full throttle since. But we all can’t help but love Britney.And anyone who doesn’t like her is just jealous.

The topic of “3″ is self-evident, upon reading the lyrics, but -this is going to sound like a weak argument- it’s really good. Seriously, Britney Spears has done it again; she’s managed to record a song so catchy and danceable – which, shortly put,  pretty much indicates really good music. Whether you consider yourself a fan or not, Britney Spears is already a global icon, and this is just another fabulous chapter of her work.  Enjoy!

Britney Spears is set to release “The Singles Collection” which includes 17 ‘top chart topping’ favorites all from her different albums from “Baby One More Time” to her “Circus” album. Along with her 17 tracks, it will include her new single ‘3′ which is set to release worldwide September 29th. “The Singles Collection” to be released November 24th.

Também será lançado um novo single intitulado de 3, será enviado às rádios dia 29 de setembro!

Duas versões serão lançadas para o The Singles Collection, sendo elas: um super box para fãs e a versão comum.

O box trará todos os 29 singles de Britney Spears, incluindo a nova música 3. Cada single com a capa original e trará ainda um b-side adicional ou um remix de cada faixa. Pop girl group, 4minute, channeled their sunbaes, Jewelery, to perform the digital single hit of 2008, “Baby one more time,” for this week’s Hero stage.

The E.T. dance with a signature melody was one of the most memorable songs/dances that earned Jewelery a couple of coveted titles. The 4minute girls totally envisioned the part from head to toe and even though the song was lip synched, I almost couldn’t even tell the difference from the original to the cover.

The crowds went wild as Jewelery walked on to finish off the song with the girls and it still seems like the popularity of the smash hit is still vibin’!
