Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving- a holiday which we’re told was initially cele

Today, we celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving- a holiday which we’re told was initially celebrated by the Pilgrims and the Indians to give thanks for bountiful harvests. Today, Thanksgiving is typically a celebration with friends and family where we stuff ourselves full of turkey and other delicious food till we’re in a food coma. Damn that tryptophan. Those still awake watch football or plan where they’re going for the Black Friday deals.

Over the last few days, I’ve been contemplating and reflecting over the things that I am thankful for this year. Some times sarcasm creeps– what can you be thankful for when your world is turned upside down and you’ve lived through the darkest, loneliest, saddest times you’ve ever been through. I’ve then given myself a mental pep talk. After several days of thinking, I’ve found some light in the darkness.

Basically 2009 has just plain sucked since February. Life was so good before February- I had a husband whom I loved dearly and we were such a happy family with our new son. Everybody was healthy. Life was good.

Then along came February and the stage IV diagnosis, followed by our fight and culminating in our lost battle.

But through it all there are things to be thankful for.

Nathaniel. I have a wonderful easy going delightful son. He is a pleasure to be around and his growth and development is nothing short of amazing to witness.

John got to be a father and he was a great one. Some men never have the opportunity to become fathers. Of the ones that do, not all of them are great. John enjoyed fatherhood as much as he physically could through his illness. Mentally it gave him a reason to fight and a reason to live that stretched beyond self. John loved his boy so much. He told me that Nathaniel’s laughter was his most favorite sound.

I had a great marriage and was married to a wonderful man. I’ve been able to experience true love. There are lots of people who can’t say that. I have enough wonderful memories to hopefully last a lifetime.

John’s illness has taught me to stand up for what is right and to fight for those you love and to pick up the pieces and carry on. The Mary of years past, wouldn’t have stood up to the well known and credentialed doctor and told him that we weren’t done fighting and if he was, then he could be forever referred to by name as “the doctor that gave up on daddy and the doctor who let daddy die.” The doctors and nurses have other patients and rooms to visit. The patient has one life. Sometimes you have to stand up for those you love and insist on the best treatment for your loved one. In the end maybe the outcome isn’t the most important thing, but rather how you life the life you have and the memories that you leave. We’ve all been born and we’ll all die… really it’s the parts in the middle that we need to really make count!

John’s death has left me with a hole in my heart- grief, heartache, and loneliness like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. But, I’m getting through it… not over it, but through it. Some days are like walking through a nice grassy meadow with the sun warmly shining. Others are like fighting my way through thick mud and slipping, sliding, falling, and getting up and pushing on. The sun rises. The sun sets. Life goes on. If I choose to live life or not, it still continues- better to enjoy it while I can. Nathaniel, the horses, and the cats have kept me going. They all need me and they all love me. I’m working or re-building my life. It won’t ever be the same or the happy home and strong fortress that it was with the three of us, but we’re making it. It’s not always easy, it’s not always pretty, and it certainly isn’t always clean, but we’re making it…. one day at a time. Life goes on. We never know how short or long our life will be. To me it only makes sense to enjoy it to it’s fullest and be happy as best you can.

For some reason, John’s death has chilled me out more and I don’t usually get upset over the little stuff. In the end, the little things don’t matter. It’s the big picture. I just want to relax and enjoy simple pleasures- hug my kid, ride my horses, take a walk, pet the critters, and just enjoy life. I’m very fortunate that I can do all of those things without even leaving Leaky Creek! I love my farm, my house, my horses, my cats, and my son. I truly feel like there is something else out there beyond our realm. I do think that John has given me signs. It’s reassuring and gives me an inner peace that I need. Attending church has been helpful. I used to fear dying terribly. After I held John’s hand as he died, my fear left. Someday, I’m sure we’ll be together again… as long as he doesn’t hook up with some hot angel in the meantime…

Annapolis Fire Department. They were absolutely amazing during John’s illness and they (along with Community Fire Company of Rising Sun) made his funeral a fitting tribute to a wonderful man and amazing firefighter. AFD did so many wonderful things that I know I can’t mention all of them. They covered John’s shifts, so he received full pay. They allowed him to retire on disability. They came to visit him in the hospital and were there for his 2nd round of IL2 treatments at 6 AM & 10 PM. They transformed our half bath into full bath with a shower that John could use. Sometimes when you’re sick… the ability to get clean just means so much. Sadly, John was only able to use his shower a few times, but it was very much appreciated! AFD built a ramp, so we could get the wheelchair in and out easily. They mowed our grass and did assorted maintenance jobs. They went with us to many doctor’s visits so I didn’t have to worry about driving on little sleep or in unpredictable traffic. They sent meals. They held a fundraiser in Annapolis. They participated in Team Smitty for the LiveStrong Challenge. In, short, they took care of their brother. John truly worked for a topnotch organization. He loved working there and they loved him, too. I miss them.

I’m thankful to the wonderful medical personnel that we encountered… from the friendly, familiar faces on the ambulance, to the caring hospital nurses, to our beloved home health nurses, and every smiling caring face in between.

I am thankful to the friends and family who have supported us and were there for John, Nathaniel, and myself. During times of crisis, you find out who your true friends are. Sometimes they are who you think they are… sometimes they’re different people. I have been very fortunate that no matter how alone I feel, I am not without friends to support me. Some friendships have strengthened and I’ve even found new friends. A simple phone call can make all the difference in the world. Many people have also helped me out with everything from mowing grass, to checking car brakes, to babysitting, to installing ceiling fans, to watching Nathaniel while I got some equine therapy… and just being there when I needed to talk, needed a hug, or needed a shoulder to cry on. This Thanksgiving, I’ve received so many invitations- thanks to everybody who thought about my boy and me and knew that we might not have a place to go.

I also have the world’s best babysitter. I can’t tell you how amazing she has been with my son and how much I enjoy and value her friendship. We’ve known each other since elementary school, but had lost touch through the years. Facebook re-united us and I consider her to be one of my best friends, now. We share conversations, hugs, and tears. There is nothing like having the piece of mind that my son is being cared for as if her were part of her family. Nathaniel helped carve his first pumpkin and made his first art project with them. Her daughter is like a sister to him. Nathaniel adores her husband and I think it is important for Nathaniel to have a good male role model in his life. I can go to work and have no concerns and no worries… to quote the credit card commercials.. “Peace of mind– priceless.” I know John would approve.

I also hope that I can do some things in memory of John to help fight melanoma and fight cancer. I don’t want his death to be in vain. Skin cancer can kill. We need more melanoma awareness and much, much more research. I’d love to do a memorial bike ride, since he loved to cycle.

So, even in what has been the worst year in my 34 year life, there are things to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving everybody. Hug your spouse. Hug your kid(s). Pet the critters. Eat up and watch some football. And if you get a chance before the food coma sets in take at least a brief moment to remember what you’re thankful for.

On Sunday afternoon in a Fayetteville, North Carolina church, Manna Church, the world, family and friends said goodbye to Shaniya Davis. Shaniya had captured the heart of the world, after it was discovered that her own mother had sold her into bondage as a sex slave,to Mario McNeill, who brutally raped and murdered the little child.

More than 2000 people were inside the church to support Bradley Lockhart, Shaniyas dad, and the man who made the decision to send Shaniya back to her mother, after having raised the child for the full 5 years of her life, which directly led to her death.

“Don’t let God’s words and don’t let his actions get you down,” Lockhart told the packed congregation. “He did this for a reason.”

Shaniya Davis funeral was open to the public and was standing room only.Lockhart urged the 1,500 crowded into Manna Church and another 500 watching the service from an adjacent building to help the community’s needy, according to press reports.

As mourners filled the church, a photo display of Shaniya Davis was streamed on the overhead projector. Never before released photos of Shaniya were displayed. These photos showed Shaniya with her father, Bradley Lockhart and her siblings.

Lockhart said, “Shaniya, Daddy love you honey. And I know you’re gonna’ be waiting for me … I’ll see you when I get there.”

White doves were released at her graveside as the little child Shaniya was laid to her eternal resting place.

This is a story that is truly disturbing for me to report, but it has to happen.

The animal that killed Shaniya Davis must be put to death, the sooner the better is my preferance.I have no mercy for this person, Mario McNeil,or her terrible mother, and the people who supported them to be able to live this long.

I hope they all burn in hell for what they did to little Shaniya.

The AP reports that the 5-year-old North Carolina girl was raped and killed the same day she was taken from her home, according to an arrest warrant released Friday. Shaniya Davis was sexually assaulted and asphyxiated Nov. 10, the day her mother reported her missing from the trailer park where she was staying, according to the warrant.

Mario McNeill is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape of a child in the warrant, which was issued after police said they collected hair and fibers, clothes, and a straw from his 1997 Mitsubishi Galant. He was initially charged only with kidnapping.

McNeill seemed nervous as he appeared in court Friday for a brief hearing on the latest charges. He nodded his head slightly to the judge’s questions but did not enter a plea. His lawyer, Allen Rogers, left the courtroom with his client and didn’t speak to reporters. He also didn’t return messages left at his office from The Associated Press.

The girl’s mother, Antoinette Davis, is charged with filing a false police report, trafficking her daughter and child abuse involving prostitution.

Her mother does not believe that her daughter harmed her child….so I say that they all should be thrown in jail with the general population.

She had to have known that her daughter is a pig, and was a danger to her defenseless little grand-daughter while she laid back and allowed it to happen.

She should be ashamed to support her vile and viscous daughter, and I suspect that she was a child abuser and molester, and she more than likely taught her daughter how to be one as well.

I hope they all die by the hands of the justice system.

Meanwhile, Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart, appeared on Friday’s “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where Winfrey asked him if he had anything to say to Davis. He told The Associated Press earlier that he had cared for Shaniya for several years but decided to give Davis a chance to raise her because she seemed to be getting her life together.

“Right now I just think it’s best that we let the justice system take its course,” Lockhart said on the show. “I try to keep my heart as pure as possible, and I’m sure one day I will be able to sit down and talk to her, try and understand what was going through her mind.”

All I can say is that I wish I could be a juror on that trial, because I would not hesitate to vote the death penalty for these cowards…

Write in and comment on my blog here, and let me know what type of punishment this child rapist Mario McNeill deserves, and what kind of death should her mother Antoinette Davis, that sold her for sex to settle a drug debt, should get, because she absolutely deserves the death penalty…in all 50 states.

The details of this case just make me sick, as it should all civilized human beings.

It is hard for me to look at this idiot, but here is a news report from You tube, courtesy of the AP…

In honor of the 20 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall… Columbus, OH, Nov. 18, 200

In honor of the 20 year anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall…

Columbus, OH, Nov. 18, 2009 – Dublin resident Sheri Watkins was recently invited to join more than 75 of her peers at an international summit in Berlin, Germany, hosted by Cultural Care Au Pair. Watkins is a Cultural Care Au Pair local childcare coordinator for NW Columbus and surrounding suburbs.

As a local childcare coordinator, Sheri Watkins supports area families who are currently hosting an international au pair in their home, as well as the au pairs themselves. Watkins earned her invitation to the summit by expanding the program in Ohio in the previous year, as well as for her role as a local community resource for parents interested in intercultural childcare.

The group was in Berlin for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, a fitting venue for the celebration of Cultural Care Au Pair’s 20 years of providing a childcare and cultural exchange program for American families. “It was fascinating to be part of the celebrations and hear from Berliners about what it was like before the wall came down,” says Watkins. “It’s incredible to think that just 20 years ago, it would not have been possible for some of my German au pairs to come to the United States. The dismantling of the wall shattered cultural and travel barriers for them. ”

Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, also in Berlin for the celebration, spoke at the U.S. Embassy. “It is such a great personal privilege to be joining with the German people, and people throughout Europe and the world, to celebrate this occasion…to commemorate that day 20 years ago when the Berlin Wall gave way to a new era of peace in a united Germany, in a united Europe…We’re celebrating the triumph of democracy and freedom, and the important role of the German-U.S. relationship.”

Sheri Watkins is a member of a nationwide network of more than 600 local childcare coordinators dedicated to promoting global understanding through intercultural childcare. In addition to supporting a local group of host families and their au pairs, she organizes social activities throughout the program year, advises au pairs on educational opportunities in the community and provides advice on intercultural exchange. Watkins and her colleagues use the conference as an opportunity to network with other coordinators and collaborate on the most effective means to support their families and au pairs locally, ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved with the program.

Watkins is currently matching area parents who are interested in hosting an au pair with available au pairs from around the world. She can be contacted at 614-204-5693 for additional information on the Cultural Care Au Pair program. Interested families may also visit Watkins’s web site at swatkins.aupairnews.com.

Cultural Care Au Pair is the leading provider of intercultural childcare and educational exchange. Since 1989, Cultural Care Au Pair has placed more than 70,000 au pairs in welcoming American homes. A U.S. Department of State regulated program, Cultural Care Au Pair is headquartered in Cambridge, Mass., with an extensive network of recruitment, screening and orientation offices worldwide.
“I have two brothers. One of them just had a son in December of 2008; his name is Noah. I love to be with him and as soon as I have any free time I go over to my brother’s place and play with him. I baby-sit Noah every week. He is great and I love to see him grow. I will never forget the first time he laughed, he was so cute! I also remember the first time he sat up by himself and the first time he could stand up by himself. Every time he does something new I think it is so exciting! I can never get enough of Noah or any child I have taken care of. I just love to make them laugh and watch them learn things and grow.”

The Bug’s hair is long and flowing. It’s been long and flowing since the day she entered

The Bug’s hair is long and flowing. It’s been long and flowing since the day she entered the world. And while everyone swore that it would fall out, it’s done anything but. It’s continued to grow like a weed, finally weighing it down so as to lose the au natural mohawk. <Tear> My little hipster now just looks like an awkward baby Beetle. And we’re on our way to baby mullet. Oh yeah, business in the front, PARTY in the back. And by party, I mean a rattail, but the 80s are TOTALLY making a comeback. She is SO in vogue- ahead of the trend.

Right.

Anyway.

It’s gotten so long and flowing that it has begun to fall into her eyes, causing many a blinking and lots of feeble attempts to pin it back and away from the offended eyeballs. You attempt to barrett back a wee babe’s fine, silky hair while she squirms and wiggles and protests. It’s like a game of greased watermelon but with hair and without the Crisco. So kind of a bad analogy, but you get the idea.

It ain’t easy.

James has been encouraging me to cut it for some time, claiming that I am causing the Bug much trauma by forcing her to deal with bangs in her face. I’ve resisted, because who honestly cuts a five-month old’s hair?

Probably parents with hairy babies but details.

Then my dad came into town, and he jumped on the cut-the-Bug’s-locks bandwagon, offering additional peer pressure and sympathy for my POOR, LONG SUFFERING, hair-in-eyes child. How could I be so cruel?! I might as well club a baby seal. It would be LESS deleterious.

So I began to feel like Cruella Deville, proposing to make puppy skin coats out of our family’s ancient Dalmatian while my cousin IT babe looked on. The guilt was profound and I’m not even JEWISH! Or Catholic!

So I caved.

And because it is impossible to cut a five-month old baby’s hair before she can properly sit up right sans assistance without causing the loss of an appendage, I did it while breastfeeding. As in, when she was horizontal, on my bare boob, offering to pierce my nipples while I wielded sharp scissors. Needless to say, it was a scene. The Bug may have swallowed some of her own hair thanks to the snow-fall of locks during snack time, and the cut may be anything but even.

If I were her, I would DEMAND my money back.

James kept swearing that it wasn’t THAT bad- until I sent a picture to my mother and sister who threw a fit. HOW COULD I DO THAT TO MY BABY?! Turn her into a little Dutch Boy, except even MORE awkward. As though that were possible.

I left it up to my babysitter to gauge the damage. She hadn’t seen Addison in two weeks, and this morning when she arrived I didn’t mention what I had done. Not five minutes went by, and I hear, Hey Ashley? Did you cut Addison’s bangs?

Shit.

Every gal’s gotta go through one bad haircut, right? RIGHT?!

(I promise I’ll attach a picture- my laptop from the Jurassic era is having a mini-meltdown so give me a couple days to coax her back to health. And in the meantime, refer to above Dutch boy image. It gives you a sense of what we’re dealing with).

Coming from a family of academics and teachers, I was instilled from birth with the importance of education. I never really thought I was biased against people without formal education though, because if you had asked me I would readily acknowledge that many people missed out on the opportunities I took for granted through no fault of their own. I happened to be living overseas in 2003, when then President George W. Bush started the war in Iraq. It was hard to explain his rationale to the local people I knew, given the worldwide protests, my own sense of his ignorance and arrogance, and the conflicting reasons offered by his administration. Most of my co-workers had already constructed their own explanations of America’s foreign policy and predictions of the outcome based on their perceptions of U.S. military force and Middle East politics, but the best comment I heard came from my babysitter, who said, “All that will come of this is some American mother crying over her son and some Iraqi mother crying over her son.” When I repeated this to a group of fellow Americans, I added that in my opinion the best analysis came from my babysitter who hadn’t even graduated from high school, as if that mattered. I hadn’t planned to frame it that way, but an unconscious prejudice surfaced spontaneously.

I know that children are a blessing and that they should always be protected. Babies and little children look towards their mothers primarily for that unconditional bond of love, trust and safety.

It is incredible to think that people can be so cruel and inhuman to children. It is sick that a mother could sexually molest their own child, and unthinkable to think that a mother would profit from the sexual molestation of her own small child, it is uncomfortable for me to have to even be aware that it is even possible.

Today, the AP is reporting that this very thing has happened. A missing innocent little child, Shaniya Davis has been found dead, at the hands of her own mother , who pimped her out to a sexual deviant. The precious little baby girl had no chance at life, at the hands of her worthless, and heartless mother.

She deserves all of societies contempt and hatred for this unspeakable act of man’s inhumanity to man.

Searchers found Shaniya Davis’ body early Monday afternoon about 100 feet off a road southeast of Sanford, in central North Carolina, Fayetteville Police spokeswoman Theresa Chance said. She declined to comment on a cause of death or the condition of Shaniya’s body.

The missing 5 year old’s own mother, Antoinette Davis, 25 is charged with human trafficking and felony child abuse.

An accomplice, Mario Andrette McNeill, 29, will face kidnapping charges. He was seen on surveillance footage carrying Shaniya at a Sanford hotel. As a result, another man who was arrested last week has been freed.

Davis reported Shaniya missing last Tuesday.Authorities first arrested a man named Clarence Coe, but charges against him were dropped a day later when investigators tracked down McNeill after receiving a tip from a hotel employee.

Additional information led investigators to a search site near Sanford on Sunday. They continued searching Monday, scouring miles of landscape, roads, ravines and fields on four-wheelers and with helicopters.

According to arrest documents cited by The Fayetteville Observer, Davis “knowingly provide(d) Shaniya Davis with the intent that she be held in sexual servitude” and she “permit(ted) an act of prostitution.”

Shaniya had only been living with her mother since last month, when Shaniya’s father, Bradley Lockhart, decided to let her stay with her mother.

Lockhart said he had raised his daughter for several years but last month thought it would be good for his daughter to be raised by her mother.”I should’ve never let her go over there,” he said Saturday.

Lockhart told The Associated Press on Saturday that he and Davis never argued about him raising Shaniya, and Cumberland County courts had no record of a custody dispute. He described his relationship with Davis as a “one-night stand” and said he did not know McNeill.

Davis struggled financially over the years, but she recently obtained a job and her own place, so Lockhart said he decided to give her a chance to raise their daughter

It proved to be a death sentence for his daughter, and he must be shocked to find out that he delivered his baby daughter into the hands of her mother who is a monster. Prostituting your 5-year-old baby daughter is an activity that one has probably been involved with before.

I bet little Shaniya was excited to be with her mother, as all little baby 5 year olds would be.

I demand that they force her to turn over all the names and information of the sick pedophiles that she had sold her daughter to for the past four weeks prior to her murder.

After Shaniya’s body was found, a solemn group of searchers met quietly at a nearby fire station to ensure that all volunteers were accounted for.

“We were hoping that someone could carry her home,” said Syd Severe, 42, who came from Raleigh to help with the search. “It’s just sick.”

Authorities have said McNeill admitted to taking the girl, though his attorney says he will plead not guilty to the charge. They have not said if McNeill and Davis knew each other.

Miss Davis’s aunt, Leona Cromertie, said her niece also had a son and was pregnant.

I cite this as a case that is worthy of the death penalty.

I pray that this child can find peace in death, because the realization of the torture and sexual abuse that she endured up until the molester snapped her neck or however he killed this beautiful innocent child is unbearable for me to comprehend.

New rules suggest that babysitters should be over 16 years of age and that parents should look for a

New rules suggest that babysitters should be over 16 years of age and that parents should look for at least two references and contact these references before employing someone. Most government agencies also recommend that parents make a complete risk assessment as well as go through all possible eventualities before leaving or entrusting their children to a known or unknown babysitter.

Most of the babysitting websites feature testimonials and photographs of the parents and/or the sitters for authenticity. Although the modus operandi may vary with different sites but generally you have to pay a membership fee to avail of their services.

Babysitting service is available for the children of mixed ages. Not more than 5 children who are 14 months or older can be supervised by one babysitter. If one child present in the group is less than 14 months then one babysitter can supervise not more than 4 children.

Finding out about an agency’s background is a given. Your next step should be finding our exactly where they get their sitters. It would be good if an agency can get sitters from various sources. After all, this is not a question of discriminating against certain places as sources for sitters. It’s about finding out how they screen their applicants.

Babysitting is not easy. Some sitting jobs are also harder than normal. Before you settle on a sitter rate, note the kind of work that you may require from your sitter. Babysitting your kids for example may be especially difficult if you have more than one kid or if you have very young kids who are difficult to manage.

In some cases, the difficulty level of handling kids may not be the main concern. Sometimes it is the time of work and the amount to be done. Sitters who have to stay long hours or stay over the night may have to be paid a little extra. Some sitters may also have to do other things besides sitting and watching kids.

The concept of using an online babysitter service to find a qualified babysitter is very similar to using an online dating website to find a partner. Typically the babysitters or caregivers enroll for free and those looking for caregivers (the parents) pay a small membership fee. In most cases you can choose a monthly or yearly membership.

Sittercity has partnered with one of the nation’s leaders in background checks (LexisNexis) to provide you with a simple tool that’s easy to use and can get you a response in just seconds while still preserving everyone’s privacy with regards to personal information such as social security numbers.

People have been using the internet more and more in recent years. People communicate much more efficiently over email and instant messages than ever before. Shopping sites have also expanded dramatically due to the convenience of purchasing items from home. You can even find some amazing discounts.

Finding a babysitter for the night can be a simple task. All you need to do is find a good online babysitter placement agency that can help you locate a good babysitter who can fit your own requirements. A professional web-based seeking and screening tool can provide fast and accurate results in a very short time.

My wife was very emotional today. She came up to me twice, hugged me and cried. I don’t blam

My wife was very emotional today. She came up to me twice, hugged me and cried. I don’t blame her. To have a life inside me – actually inside me, and then it’s gone. I don’t know how that would feel. Carrying a baby and giving birth is about the most courageous thing I have seen anyone do. My wife looked like a gorgeous Valkyrie in those moments of birthing two years ago. Then to carry life and her body just decides “No, not right now, gotta go.” Sure it’s probably for good reason, but I look at my daughter and son and think about how they both barely made it, how they both could have not been here, and now I’m the one crying.

Physically she’s recovering just fine. After being in bed most of the last week, she is now up and about and even suggesting we get a babysitter and go out some night this week. She had an ultrasound and several blood tests and her Doc said she’s clear to have sex and make babies again (woohoo).

By the way a note on ultrasounds:

You’ve all seen those nice movie shots of ultrasounds with the mom’s belly hanging out like a plump beach ball sized peach and the pretty little baby on the screen. That all happens, but did you know they do a vaginal ultrasound? You don’t want to know. There’s a reason that’s not in the movies, and I’ll leave it at that.

The bonus of all this is I’ve had our bed to myself! When my wife doesn’t feel well she sleeps in the living room for fear that either I will keep her up all night or she will keep me up all night, or both. Having our bed to myself is a glorious luxury I’ll be sad to lose (probably tomorrow night).

Two things have happened this month which have made my life much easier: Jer has had a few weeks off

Two things have happened this month which have made my life much easier: Jer has had a few weeks off before starting his new job and his dad and sister have come to visit for a couple of weeks.
This has meant that pretty much for the first time since Munchkin was born I have been able to take naps and sleep in. Even though we’ve had some rough nights (up at 2,3,4,5.30,6 etc mmmm immunisations are great), I’ve been able to hand him over in the morning to someone else and go back to bed. His grandpa has been dying to spend time with him and munchkin loves hanging out with someone prepared to make faces at him all the time. He even took him out for a walk in the baby bjorn.
Just having someone else there to look after him while I take a shower means I don’t have to turn the water off every 30 seconds to listen for crying. I can take time to breathe!
More excitedly he is going to babysit on Saturday night when jer and I have a date night, our first! We are going to a very fancypants restaurant in London and I can’t wait.
Now if I could just figure out what to wear..
P.s. I am secretly terrified of when grandpa leaves and jer goes back to work. Whatdya mean I have to look after this baby All By Myself again???
