Hey guys! This may not be a fashion, entertainment, or beauty topic in it’s purest form but I

Hey guys! This may not be a fashion, entertainment, or beauty topic in it’s purest form but I AM going to educate you guys on the world that we live in today. Besides, A&F is fashion because clothes so just continue reading … thanks!

While surfing on Tumblr, it came to my attention yesterday that Abercrombie & Fitch refuses to sell plus size clothing. Why? Ask CEO Michael Jefferies. He said and I quote, “We hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that.” But that’s not all he said, he also said …”Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either.” Oh and on top of that .. A&F burns unsold clothes instead of giving it to goodwill because it would give the company a bad image if poor people wear their clothes! Seriously? Well that’s too bad Michael Jeffries because I have given my old A&F clothes to goodwill. So I guess your image is ruined now right?
So now, I ask you .. Are you still going to shop at Abercrombie & Fitch or its affiliates like Hollister Co & Gilly Hicks? I’m sure not going to. I was a major fan of A&F, I loved their hoodies & jeans but this prejudice is ridiculous. My friend worked at Hollister Co & met this discriminatory CEO & said he is prejudice in the purest form. Are there stores that don’t sell plus sized clothing? I’m certain there are but they don’t speak negatively about plus size & “unattractive people. ” Jefferies is the LAST person to be talking about UNATTRACTIVE people because he us HIDEOUS! Just google his troll ass! I’m sure A&F will lose some customers over this but definitely not all.

I am not a Justin Bieber fan, after all, I am a 44 year old man. But I must admire the fact that he has accomplished a lot in a short amount of time.

In this video I talk about the fact that Justin Bieber has been in the news too often for the wrong reasons. His clean cut image has taken a beating and he has no one to blame but himself.

I don’t know if this image change was part of a marketing plan to change his image from choir boy to a bad boy/gangsta image in order to increase music sales. He’s been seen fighting with the paparazzi and caught smoking pot on numerous occasions.

We already have Lindsay Lohan to deal with!

I also make videos on youtube.

LABELS. Why do we insist on imposing them on others?

Hello ‘Brave New World’ – doesn’t anyone who reads that recoil at the thought of loss of identity. Facelessness. Being EXACTLY like everyone else.

Challenge would be gone. And challenge is good. It keeps you learning, loving, thinking, breathing, being, moving. We do not grow roots from our feet, we are not meant to stagnate. Stay in the same spot for too long and you will begin to rot. To slowly die. But life is for living. The fact we are all made different shows those differences should be embraced, not squished down.

Some get distorted. Their views and opinions become confused. It is ‘us’, ‘our’ job to redirect and help, not to point a finger or turn a blind eye. Help someone find their footing again. Don’t try to trip them up. They’ll tread more lightly. Leave them be and how many poor souls will they trample as they try to follow the wrong path.

Life will happen. With or without your input. So work with it, not against it. Listen to those messages in the breeze. Be in tune with yourself. When your gut retracts, recoils and feels odd, it is resonating at the wrong frequency, don’t be guilty of putting your fingers in your ears and trying to sing a different tune.

We all have a different life song. Don’t alter the tempo or rhythm. Sing it loud. Sing it proud. Harmonise with life. Changing the tune if it gets a little tough is not how an orchestra works.

See people as your fellow musicians. Sing your life song and you will create a masterpiece together. Play it wrong and everything will slowly fall out of sync.

If you spend so much time labelling…..ugly, pretty, bland, beautiful….you are judging. You are not open. You are not learning. You are missing the chance to see the inner being. The inner beauty. The true beauty. Heartfelt, deep, meaningful. The bit that really matters.

Crooked teeth, Wonky eyes. Frizzy hair. That does not make a person bad. What goes on internally is what you should be looking for and what you should be listening to.

If you put all your energies into being the thinnest, you focus on the external. You will miss life’s little gems. You will age, your immune system will falter, your thinking will shift and fall, you’ll end up on the wrong road. Work with what you have, make the best of you, don’t try to create someone that isn’t you. You were made a certain way for a reason – work with it – not against it. Don’t do yourself the disservice.

If you focus on being the most popular with the most friends you will confuse the true beauty of friendship. You will water down the value of ‘true’ friendship. The fact there is a term ‘true friend’ says enough. If you are willing to listen.

Do you think having 800 facebook friends makes you long term happy? Do you think it stops you ever feeling lonely?

All it does is add pressure. You’ve got to keep on keeping up appearances, singing off key. But appearances are only skin deep!

Judge a book by its cover and you could miss out on the greatest story every told.

Beauty comes from within. The truly beautiful value the right things, they put effort into the things most worthy. They make the better friends. They listen. They learn. They sing in harmony.

Look at nature…left alone it sings in harmony. It works together. Creates the wonders of the world. Makes the imprint of our past and shows a snapshot of our future.

A throwaway facebook status update or an amazing symphony.

The beauty is, the decision is yours.

You always have the final say in your destiny. Just be mindful of where you put your feet.

“We can learn to get by if we learn to have scars

If we learn to forgive and accept who we are”

“Lose your temper and you lose a friend; lie and you lose yourself.”

“All birds, even those of the same species, are not alike, and it is the same with animals and with human beings. The reason WakanTanka does not make two birds, or animals, or human beings exactly alike is because each is placed here by WakanTanka to be an independent individuality and to rely upon itself.”

I’m really just writing to wait for my friend to come on Skype.

There’s this particular website I go on to get images of pent up girls.

There’s this one Korean chick who keeps popping up and it’s disturbing, because you can tell that she’s so heavily photoshopped that it has actually distorted the quality of the picture and the pixels on the image.

She looks incredibly pretty and I’m sure she’s average in real life, but how dare you!

The whole idea of this blog is to promote intelligence and a negative self image.

You know there’s probably a little girl who read this blog (note: looks at the pictures) and she’s probably anorexic as a result of my brain washing and agenda.

Good on her.

At least now she’ll get to experience what life’s really about.

You’re talking to someone at a networking event and you get a strange feeling that they are slowly backing away from you as you speak. You dismiss it and say to yourself that they just weren’t interested. Networking seems to be hard work. You’re missing opportunities and you’re not sure why.

It may be one of the unmentionables that is killing your networking opportunities. No one will tell you.

Body Odour

There is no secret way to check your Body Odour. Ask a trusted friend not your live-in partner. He or she has got used to living with you and your special smell.

Here are some things to check that might help you.

Shower and use deodorant every day. People do talk amongst themselves and they know which men and women to avoid. An antiperspirant reduces the wetness and a deodorant suppresses the smell. Choose the one that meets your needs.

Stress and anxiety are common triggers of sweat and Body Odour in both males and females. The less stressed you are about networking and life, the better you smell.

Check the smell of your feet and your shoes. Synthetic shoes can make the feet sweat and smell, especially if they are the only shoes you wear. Leather shoes breathe so these may be a better choice for networking.

Avoid strong perfume or aftershave. After a few uses, you cannot smell it on you but others can.

If you regularly eat garlic and pungent foods and spices, you get used to it but others can smell it as it comes out of the pores of your skin. Finally, non-smokers are definitely sensitive to a smoker’s smell even if you think that you have covered it up.

Bad Breath

I was taught a very simple test you can do to check how your breath smells.

‘Lick the back of one of your clean hands just near the thumb. Make sure that your hand has not recently been moisturised or body-lotioned. Then smell it. You’ll know immediately if you have a problem with your breath.’

Using a tongue scraper twice a day may help your mouth look clean and reduce bacteria. As the bad breath smell comes from the back of the throat, it’s a short-term reduction not a permanent cure.

There are many causes of Bad Breath. Eating foods such as onions, garlic and cauliflower have only a temporary effect on your breath. Do the ‘lick & smell’ test over a few days to see if you have a more serious problem. It may be a dental infection, your diet, your smoking, your snoring, emotional issues or a more serious underlying health problem.

Don’t ignore it. Talk to your dentist, doctor or preferred health source about it to find the best solution for you.

Bad Dressing

This can come in two ways. The first is in being dressed too casual. While business dress today is less formal, dressing for this can be a minefield. Those closer to 40 can be too casual and give the impression that they don’t take themselves and their business seriously. Business women over 50 can lack the skill of looking ‘modern professional’. Their 1990s classic dressing can give the impression of being out-of-date with modern ideas and modern technology.

The second aspect of Bad Image comes when a networker’s words and appearance are out of alignment. This is when you talk about health and vitality but look tired and dress in dark, low-contrast clothes. Or as one person approached me and said – ‘Talk to her. She is promoting financial success and dressed in cheap, ill-fitting clothes.’ Dressing in Prada is not essential but wearing quality, well-fitting clothes gives the impression that you practice what you preach.

All these Big Bad B’s that no-one speaks to your face can lose you valuable contacts, promotion, business and friendship.

If you need help with any of these, contact me for a quiet, private discussion.

Chinese culture has always showcased a strong cultural legacy in the graphic arts, producing some of the world’s most talented artists and juxtaposing the ancient traditions with cutting edge concepts. Shanghai-based illustrator Shan Jiang lives and breathes these very ideologies through his creations which portray a strong sense of the contemporary against the rigid structure of traditional Asian techniques.

His work clearly illustrates the contradiction between rooting himself deeply in the often delicate and sensitive lines of beautifully detailed images in contrast with the strong basic abstract and somewhat surreal qualities of stylized modern graphics. His inspiration is often comprised of the environment that surrounds him – the evolution of a society that is two-sided, a world inhabited by skyscrapers and bungalows, ancient superstitions, expanding subcultures and communist dogma.

Currently Shan Jiang works for ILoveDust, based out of South England (from his home in Beijing), and has started up his own company, Bad Image. His extensive client list includes corporate giants such as Miller Beer, Starbucks, Nike, Levi’s, Coca Cola, and many others, but he’s very versatile and also likes to dabble in independent projects such as children’s books.

See more of Shan Jiang’s work on his beautiful website.

Judgment. We are all guilty of it. Within the first few seconds of meeting someone we judge them, first impression right? Now what about when you hear a friend constantly taking about a person. Sometimes all you hear is good things and other times.. well they aren’t so good. Right off the bat, you have a terrible image of this person in your head. Now it is time to meet them, your friend says, “Oh here comes (fill in the blank).” The tone in their voice reminds you of all of the negative things you have heard. You brace yourself as the person walks over watching your friends expression change, and already before they open their mouth, you have an idea of what they will sound like, what they will say. Do you give them a chance? Or do you give a false smile, and allow your friends opinion to become your own.

Now let’s think of an organization… Let’s go with the Chess Team. Right there with hearing that how many thoughts popped into your head? Have you formed an image of a person from the Chess Team? What do they look like? Did you create a specific gender? Do they wear glasses? Is there tape around the center of the glasses from when the person was tripped in the hallway because chances are if they are on the chess team, they are probably clumsy. And those clumsy people with the glasses well, hello nerd.

Now what about the school football team? How to describe them? The all American guy who walks around as if they own the place because they are tall, in shape, and muscular. They are who every guy would like to be and who every girl wants to be with. Speaking of girls… how good are they at gossiping, passing judgments, and there are no better experts at being fake than them. What a minute, I just did it, I made a stereotype for guys and girls. Notice, we all do it. Notice everyone can be seen as a stereotype, we are all grouped. But, isn’t it an awful feeling to think that because this entire group has an IMAGE, a REPUTATION, every individual in that group is seen the same way. But is it possible for every individual to be the same? What happened to the idea that every person is unique? Sure, when we are grouped there are things we have in common, but not everything.

Judgment is a part of life. Now think of your own organization. Think of how you view it. It is a part of you obviously. Now think of how others see it. That image well is it a good one? How did it get to be that way? Is it fair to be seen like that? No. But is that a part of life? Yes.

Here we are groups within a giant group. The rest of campus judges us all. Do we like that image they have for us as a whole? Not really. So then why do we think it is okay for us to judge one another? Yes we are all different, if we were all exactly the same well then there wouldn’t be smaller branches of our large organization. Right now, think of how you describe the other organizations to people. Think of how people might describe your organization. Do you like the words you are thinking of? Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. Now those negative words that came to your mind when you thought of the other organizations, how would you feel if someone described you that way? Not good, right?

I’m not sure why I don’t just spend my money on going to a hair salon. Last time I messed up my hair, I burned it off. You can read that story here. Maybe it’s that I have always had a bit of the “DIY” mentality. Bathroom is dirty? Clean it yourself. No clean clothes? Do some laundry. Heck, I’d like to pay someone to scrub the toilet and wash and fold my stuff, but I work for free around here.

Husband and I have been tightening the budget in order to prepare for purchasing a home. In fact, he was semi- “I refuse to cut my hair because the military forced me to for so long,” and “Once you start, you have to keep going,” and “I have other things to spend $15 on.” The result was hair so tall we actually wound up stealing my Father-In-Law’s weed-wacker in the middle of the night to take a bit off the top of my husband’s head. Would have been much cheaper just to pay $15 from the get-go. But husband and I are both stubborn, and learn lessons the hard way.

Case in point: A woman’s hair is much more costly than a man’s. If a man’s haircut goes bad, he can simply “buzz” his head.

I TRIED THIS… in another serious budgeting phase called ” we’re newlyweds,” and I didn’t do so well on the at-home “Fade it up like a real Puerto Rican” haircut for my beloved husband. First of all, I’m not Puerto Rican, have never given anything but my sister’s Barbies a haircut, and second, the pressure was *sorta* on for me to perform perfectly. A perfectly faded PR haircut was NOT the result, and my husband wound up buzzing his OWN head. That’s how bad it was, he wouldn’t even let me buzz the rest off.

My track record might not be perfect to start, but we’re all sinners, right?

So here we are, full circle, a woman’s hair is more expensive to maintain…err…fix. I want to dye my hair. I need to dye my hair. My roots are virgin, and the rest of my hair is NOT. So I buy the cheap hair dye, which doesn’t exactly set me back that far, but will improve my professional look. I’ve been dying my own hair for…… years now, so I shouldn’t have a problem, right? Right…. (said sarcastically in a surfer-dude tone).

I decided to go for that Sharon Osbourne-red that I’ve been wanting for so long. I buy the box, notice that it’s permanent, which stinks because I prefer semi-permanent. I dye my hair, ruin a t-shirt, and decide I need to dye my brows, too. Remember how I mentioned my roots were virgin hair? That means they are more porous or something, and absorb more of the color. The rest of my hair was already colored (semi-permanent) so I thought it would take the same.

I washed my hair out and discovered I looked like troll doll meets oompa loompa if the oompa loompa’s hair was orange and not green. Those awful oompa loompa eyebrows? I had those too. RED. I mean, RED. I loved the color but the problem was my roots took the red, and the rest of my hair was dark brown.

My husband got the biggest kick out of it. He laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed andlaughedandlaughedandlaughedandlaughedandlaughed, far past the point of it being funny, but that’s the kinda guy he is. I’m so glad I could provide him entertainment. (Maybe I’m writing this story too soon, as I still haven’t laughed even once.)

No, there will NOT be a picture included in this post, because I was too busy using eyeliner to color in my eyebrows (yep, really) and finding a hat to wear. The worst part is that my husband was laughing so hard that he broke his promise to go to the store for my back-up box of hair dye if he heard screaming coming the bathroom.

I went to the store, lost a slippery flip-flop in the rain, and made eye-contact with no one. With the way I looked, I’m bound to wind up on my grocery store’s version of “People of Wal-Mart.”

A few dollars later, same ruined shirt, a burning scalp, another shower, and a nervous glance in the mirror, I have a pretty cherry-cola look, and some much less oompa-loompa like eyebrows.

I seriously came THISCLOSE to buzzing my head…

Justin Bieber was spotted in the studio on Monday with Chris Brown.
The pals have worked together in the past, but I am left wondering why JB would want to be seen with this woman beater?

Should we start calling him “Justin Beater?”

After all, “You are what you eat.”

Find some new friends Justin. In my eyes, you’re ruining your image or promoting domestic violence. And the sad part is, MTV and others are willing to use your image to bring CB back after everything he did to Rihanna?

Pathetic. Tweet this, Justin: #BadImage

UPDATE: This case is CLOSE, she already changed her header and tag lines. I wish her all the best in life and fab luck for her future. Let’s MOVE ON!!!

Here is a long but brief explanation about the reasons why I was so distracted, stressed out and tired last week (original letters and documents are saved.) I was given permission to post this, even though some of my friends told me not to give this girl another space in my site. I am not doing this to degrade her or something, this is to tell all bloggers, who have been victims of copyright infringement or any thing that might have stolen from their site, whether it is your concept, image, words and stories.

Their right ends when your right begins…

my original header looked like this (the image below with transparent blue circle)

Last Tuesday I was appalled by an information that was forwarded to me. I had to speak in Thai so that the people who is following me would not know what the hell I am talking about, I wanted to scream and rant about it right away but I can’t, somehow the person who was involve in this issue was following me and I was also following her. I gave my friends a message and waited for their reply, I need someone to take a second glance about the header and the style the way the blog was designed. I was frustrated, angry, hurt and I cannot think properly. Finally I asked King if it really looks the same, you know he is a man of a few words and when he saw the design he told me to complain right away. I did not do it, I had to seek for legal advice from my family and ask a lawyer back in the Philippines to help me further understand what these kind of problems will give me in the future.

After I blogged about the incident I read the next morning in her tweets which is referring to someone who cannot GET OVER the incident and I have to blog about it. I was about to message her directly but my legal representatives said NO. I was asked to protect my tweets and Facebook acount, how about my blog? As long as I do not provide names then it will the most suitable thing to do.

I was about to let my lawyer give her a letter but Isabeau told me that I should give her a letter of complaint first but if nothing will happen then I would have to bring this matter to fight for my own rights. I emailed her a copy of the letter, sent a copy to my friends and family. After a few hours before I went to sleep, she replied, I do not know if I will be happy, pissed or saddened about her reply but it only sums up to one thing. SHE DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANTED HER TO DO. Apparently she deleted her site at WordPress but unfortunately she made a new one but it has the same design and header. You see I wouldn’t complain about this if she was just nice enough to say “sorry I didn’t realize we have the same design”.

Instead of doing that, she insisted that it was her idea and I shoud not mess with her idea nor access her site. I have asked her nicely, all she needs to do is make a new design or change something in it. I would be glad to help her if she has problems with it but sad to say she wasn’t able to understand what I was complaining about.

I am not doing this to embarrassed her in public but she has pushed me to the point of calling her names in my social sites but I didn’t, I wouldn’t mind if you credit me as the designer or the person who inspired you but reasoning out that the internet is FREE and you can do whatever you can do is totally the most foolish thing to understand about the world wide web.

I wanted to tell all my beloved blogger friends that if you think someone has copied you in some manner there is always what we call fighting for our own rights. It may be a big hassle for some of us but if you start thinking about it, you are making these social squatters do whatever they want to do without learning anything.  The issue here is that these people does not know what are the implications of copying and the consequences of some FREE stuff in the internet.  Yes it is FREE but there are specific rules and not all of us are aware of. I am thankful again for V\’s Copyright and Image Use post in her site because I had to do my own research about copyright infringement and what are the things you can do first without asking a lawyer to handle the issue especially if you live in other countries.  The exchange of my complaint letter and her response went like this;

(My complaint letter)

“Your content, published last February 08, 2011 with a header named as ”princess of her own story” is essentially similar to my work, even though it was not normally copied in some way but the colorable changes of the words used in royalties has asserted the significant similarity. “

“The usage of the crown even when placed in different areas of the works can notably confuse my readers….. “”The similar usages of words were copied and the usage of the punctuation marks between the branding words was objectively the same. ”

“….been a derivative work which came from an original source, then that would be an exclusive, of any ownership regarding the original work and has the successful right of acknowledge or being credit as the source. “
“Even if your references are open source software’s like WordPress, and you may assert that there will be some probability that the designs would be similar but a custom layout and sidebars will possibly be almost identical, but it would be professional to credit the rightful authors.”
Her reply;

“FIRST:My header with the crown was inspired with my old blogger site. You can check it here before claiming that I copied your so calledROYALTY. It’s just happen that we become friends on facebook/twitter. I did not remember since I did not update my blog because of my busy scheds. And it was neglected and no updates again”

“Does the content is really copied? I have the right to use the word PHOTOGRAPHY since I was studying 1 year from now in a photography class. I;ve been practicing photography since I did not knew you … So what’s the point if I use that word?”
“there is nothing to explain about that content….So what’s the reason of copying your blog content since I can have my own ideas.”
“You could say that I probably copied your blog contest/header/font/sidebarAnd no, don’t claim that we both have the same header since I use my pictures for the header located at the right side when viewing the blog. It’s a BIG DIFFERENCES!”
“But don’t force me to change my own ideas! Or whatever you may don’t like!Just don’t access mine!”

and my last reply to her before my legal representatives advice me not to send her anymore letters was;

“In regards with the crown, if you have disputed that you were able to use that signage even when you started blogging with your blogspot account then what were the necessary reasons that you have to change it? This is not a case of who owns first or what ideas were created, but you must be aware that in the World Wide Web, there are millions of websites that may have a slight resemblance but when those points would result into more than 5 similarities, I as a blogger and a site owner would be mostly concern about my brand name/image and my affiliates who are subscriber of my site. If you want to assert that the crown was your idea in the first place then so be it. “

“I am referring to the similar usage of words and the punctuation marks between each branding words. As what you have mentioned that you have the right to use the word PHOTOGRAPHY which is actually right, anyone has the right to use it. Even if you have not studied that course or it was an inborn talent, the word PHOTOGRAPHY is a word which belongs to the dictionary which neither of us can claim.”
“If this is your personal blog you might as well put a certain touch that people would remind that you are a unique author something that will keep them coming back in your site. I recommend you make an extensive research just like blogs which has I live, I ride, I jeep taglines. Or the ones live.laugh.love, or to add these taglines such as live love laugh and plan or you can keep it like love photography i live my dream, these kind of ideas are unlimited, it just so absurd that 3 or more words are likely to be the same with the same use of punctuation and prepositional symbol. “

“There may not be a given proof about your stand but I am thankful that you have obliged to my request to answer this complaint, I would have asked a sincere apology from you but I think it would not be necessary since most of my points being emphasized were not given justifiable reasons by your explanation…”

But after a few minutes I saw a new site with the same header, the crown now is being worn by her and there is a copyright symbol on the header. I wouldn’t argue with that but I would love to let her change the tagline with the same punctuation marks in it. If you have started with PensandLens, you would know that this blog has the old lines saying “anything & everything about love.life.photography.fashion.travel and SWEET” but I changed it into “fashion.photography.travel.love&life”

This is going to be my last post about this issue since all the details are being discussed by my legal representatives now, I have also registered my site at www.copyright.gov a $35 fee is not bad to protect your site from any infringement. Just make sure your host is located in the United States. You can also modify so that you can register for an international coverage for your copyright. You can check their site and know more on how to file for your site to be protected. Processing period may take 2 to 3 months but it’s worth it in the end.

I am not only standing up for my own blog but for all bloggers out there, I would like to tell you that there is no hassle in fighting for your right. You can always send a complaint letter and pray that the person is mature enough to understand what you want them to do. And let these social squatters learn their lesson that intensive research is important, plus being up to date and looking for other materials to enhance their ability to become a great designer/blogger/photographer and not just settle for what is available.

Because I believe all bloggers are gifted and the frustration hurts like hell if someone has malign or stole something from us. I know that we can make new designs and substantial work overnight because we don’t want the creative juices in our minds to go to waste. Somehow we just work magically with great composure and above all, honesty to credit the rightful authors. Again it is not hard to ask permission in the very first place, there really is nothing wrong with that. There is a term called GIVE and TAKE.

As I said in my blog post from the 12th of January (SWISS Air Guerilla Marketing), BAD Guerilla Mark

As I said in my blog post from the 12th of January (SWISS Air Guerilla Marketing), BAD Guerilla Marketing can ruin your company’s image or brand image.

One of the main problems is that you cannot stop the wave once it has been started. If you fail with your Guerilla Marketing Action, the people will talk about it, laugh about it, post ridiculous pictures/videos. In few simple words: You loose the control!

I will show you TWO examples in order to substantiate your ideas about Guerilla Marketing, especially bad Guerilla Marketing.

1. FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL

The marketing guys of this movie planned to get additional attention through guerilla marketing. They conceived posters mit the message “You suck Sarah Marshall” in order to be part of the film plot, in which the main character tries to forget his ex-girlfriend.
Problem: The Marketing people forget, that a lot women out there bear the same name. Everybody can imagine that viewing such a poster with your own name at 8 o’clock in the morning on your way to work could disturb your daily mood. After the campaign, some of the concerned women allowed free play to their displeasure, as you can see on the picutres. Enjoy!
We don’t really know if this problem was considered before starting the guerilla action. Maybe the promoters wanted to create attention, even on the negative side, in order to stick to the movie’s topic–

2. AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE (TV Program)

Another failed guerilla action, where little LED signs were identified as explosive devices. Everybody knows that you should avoid explosives for promotion in the US, because the observer’s reaction would not be very positive, especially after the tragic events of 9-11.
This campaign shows how risky Guerilla Marketing can be. In order to prevent these negative impact, companies should study the reaction of these actions before (market research or interviews).

By the way, even the police was not informed about this special guerilla marketing campaign.

I was home sick again, blah. It’s now 10:06 and I’ve finished some of my homework due tomorrow yay me. My sister’s birthday is coming up and she wanted to go see my dad to have a party with that side of the family. When she called he wasn’t very excited or enthusiastic and said he had forgotten it was her birthday all together (in a non-joking voice). This upset my sister quite a lot blah blah blah and so she of course came to talk to me about it. The only time she ever sincerely talks with me is if she is upset about something. It’s one of the few times she’ll laugh with me and be herself (which is really annoying I must say, why does she need to be sad and depressed to talk to me?!) Anyway, while she was talking I wanted to put some lotion on my elbows because they’ve been a little dry recently so I went to squirt out a SMALL amount of lotion and since none was showing up on my finger I squeezed harder and notice the long white shower of something falling right behind my hand. I immediately stopped squeezing the lotion bottle and looked down to find a white blotch on my jeans… right in the area you don’t want a white blotch in. Plus there was some on the chair… so it was not a pretty site… funny (well hilarious for me actually) but not pretty. So I had to get all of the lotion off of my jeans quickly and throw them in the wash before the lotion somehow left a white spot on my jeans giving the impression of… something not so classy. That is how my day ended, actually no it’s not. I watched the Taylor Swift rap video which was actually good and funny. I had to compare to the vid about mileys struggle with Twitter and I stopped half way through it was that bad. You should watch it (the Taylor Swift one) if you’re a fan of hers, it was pretty cute hahaha.

Last evening, someone from the BBC told me about this website, and now it’s one of my favourite links after webpagesthatsuck.com…Photoshop Disasters!

With such sites that gives endless laughter, who needs TV?

My favourite will have to be this, where the logo on the ball got partially cut-off before the edge of the photo:
Ironic huh?

Yo. Busy morning…First off, if you like U2 (and why wouldn’t you?) you’ll be happy

Yo. Busy morning…First off, if you like U2 (and why wouldn’t you?) you’ll be happy to hear they’ve announced a release date for the next album titled No Line on the Horizon. It’ll drop March 3, 2009. I’m sure there will be an iPod commercial to remind you, but otherwise mark your calendars.

Going back across the pond today. I stumbled onto this song “Balloons” by a British band called Foals that I think has some cool things going for it. This assessment was made based solely on listening to the audio-only and later I looked them up on YouTube. You ever hear a song you like and then wonder if you should change your mind after you find out what the band looks like? Shallow, I know, but that’s what happened here and it’s not an uncommon thing for me with a lot of indie rock. I won’t go on just yet so you can have a chance to look at them. Again, it’s “Balloons” by Foals from their 2008 album Antidotes:

See what I mean? I just have such a negative reaction to this whole image currently. I mean, come on – is it really comfortable to play your guitars with them strapped up to your armpits like that? Does the singer really need that little wisp of an ironic mustache? Do they really all have the exact same thrift store short sleeve button up wardrobe? One dude can’t just wear a sweater or something? You know what I mean? It just seems like they’re trying way too hard to fit some image of what’s cool that it ends up becoming the antithesis of that very goal. And it sucks because that’s not a bad song. I like the entire intro, all of it, right down to the saxophone sound that’s probably coming from a keyboard. I like the dance shuffle beat of the drums and I like the British accent and cadence of the singer’s voice. It sort of reminds me of the same ballpark as what I’ve heard from fellow Brits Bloc Party, though admittedly I’ve heard very little. They’ve got street cred, too. They’re on Sub Pop and Antidotes was produced by TV on the Radio string puller Dave Sitek. This makes more sense after hearing “Red Socks Pugie”:

Once more, I like that drum beat quite a bit. I like the space and feel of this track. It seems more relaxed, which is what I’d love to see this band do to their image, too. You know, loosen those guitar straps just a little and maybe lay off the Indie outfit 101 and go shop at Kohl’s or something. I know I sound like the fashion police, but really it’s probably not even the clothes. The guys in Radiohead wear jeans and those shirts but it doesn’t look applied to them by some rock band filter in Photoshop like it does with Foals.

Who knows? Maybe these guys just need a massage. Enjoy the weekend. More Monday…

Bad Image or Bad Reality? http://www.vandruff.com/mlm.html

“Let me tell you about an incredible ground-level business opportunity,” and you are invited to a house or to lunch for “a discussion.” Funny enough, you feel sick in your gut that there is some hidden agenda or deception. “Probably a multi-level marketing (MLM) organization,” you think. Suppose it is? Should you trust your instincts? Is there anything wrong with MLM?

This article will analyze four problem areas with MLM. Specifically, it will focus on problems of I) Market Saturation, II) Pyramid Structure, III) Morality and Ethics, and IV) Relationship Issues associated with MLMs. Thus, you can properly assess your “instincts.”
